My wife and I had dinner at Edgewaters Sunday night, 6 September. It was our first time in Bandon. We arrived late afternoon, approaching the golden hour and we wanted seafood. We chose Edgewaters as it is right off the water on the south side of the jetty with a great view of the boats heading in and out of the harbor. We had not heard of the restaurant. It looks a little rustic, not posh, casual, perfect for the beach setting. We decided to roll the dice and walk in. The hostess was busy seating guests and answering the phone and we had to wait a minute or two. The place was busy and we took that as a good sign. People calling for reservations were being told the earliest seating available was 8 PM, two hours out. We were beginning to wonder if we would be seated with no reservations. I tried channeling my inner Anthony Bourdain and it must have worked as we were seated in the "wine room", a quiet corner but with a view out the windows. We hoped for outside but quickly realized that everyone outside was bundled up and that it was warmer inside. Perfect! The specials were Columbia River salmon or halibut and I almost went with the salmon until our server, Ivy, informed us that the restaurant hand cut all their meats and fish, that the fish is fresh and the beef is grass fed and aged 21(?) days. There was a rib eye on the menu and I am a fan of a good ribeye. The gentleman at the table next to us overheard me mentioning to my wife that there was ribeye and he spoke up and said that he ordered the rib eye and that it was the best steak he has ever had. His wife also agreed. Well, decision made. My wife decided to have the halibut and I went with the rib eye. Surf and Turf, the best of both worlds. I ordered the seafood chowder with the steak, which was pretty good. The rib eye was perfect. Nice char on on the outside, not too much, just the way I like it and medium rare on the inside, as ordered. Tender, juicy and very tasty. Could cut it with a butter knife. One of the better steaks I've had, top five, if not top three. And I have had many rib eyes, in high end and and not so high end establishments. And this one was damn good! The halibut was perfectly cooked with a crushed pistachio(?) crust. Also very delicious. Our server, Ivy, did a great job on checking in with us and taking care of us, even though she was busy and we were sitting in the corner. Thank you Ivy!! We will be back. Cheers!

By far the very best place to eat in Bandon!!! Do not miss out on this restaurant!!! You expect very fresh fish from all of the local restaurants but you can be sure that you will get it here. Everything was absolutely delicious and was served piping hot! The view can't be beat, and the service was excellent!!

Just got back from Bandon and E dgewaters was by far the top restaurant in town/ hands down. Every appetizer and entree item was expertly prepared and delicious. They are of course extremely busy in season so there may be a wait but it's worth every minute of wait time. It's family owned and operated which is a plus and the service can be spotty at times but the Seafood Romesco will make your visit worthwhile.

Meh. Overly crowded. Poor service. Reminiscent of an old folks home inside. No easy bar access. Save your money and move down the street to The Loft.

I had my birthday dinner at Edgewaters in Bandon and I must say, it was fabulous! The server was friendly, knowledgeable, and not intrusive or annoying (I can't remember her name). Just very pleasant. We couldn't get a window seat - we walked in without reservations. However, the table we got was in a nice room with good light and big enough windows to see the lighthouse and Coquille River. The food was the best part! Our starter was calamari with capers and cranberries. Yummy. The chowder was great. I had top sirloin and vegies, which was very good. My husband had a pasta dish that he will remember forever because he said it was the best he ever had. It was a bow-tie pasta with smoked salmon in every bite, there was so much of it. The creamy dill sauce was to die for. He just loved it! Thanks for an awesome experience. After having car trouble and not getting to celebrate my birthday the day before, it was almost worth it to have this meal.

Dropped into town, asked our hotel concierge where we could find an upscale seafood place and we landed here. Great atmosphere, great menu choices and we thought, super reasonable prices...even for daily specials. We ordered their signature appetizer, calamari which is sautéed with capers and cranberries, not deep fried as usually seen. It was divine. We did lemon fettuccini with grilled prawns and a bowl of seafood chowder. All was great. Didn't give 5 stars because we felt server & staff was a bit aloof for our taste and a couple of questions I had were answered in a rather dismissive manner but I chalk it up to their personality & not the vibe of the restaurant or management. We would go back if we came thru the area again.

This place was incredibly disappointing. After a 10-hour drive, we wanted to splurge on a really good meal and I wish I could say we got it here, but we didn't. I was optimistic when I saw the big crowd waiting outside. We immediately ordered the crab cakes which were good (note: did not say great.) and the seafood chowder came with my meal, also good. However, the service was slow as molasses and it took a long time even just to get our drinks refilled. We waited at least 45 minutes for our food and by the time it got to the table, I was ready to just call it quits and get back on the road. We needed to make it to Portland. The kids' meals were fine, but ours? Meh. That's the only way to describe. Portions were big but bland. I ended up eating just half of my tasteless, overly well done ribeye and all the rubbery lobster, left the mashed potatoes and lackluster veggies. Took the rest of the steak and fed it to my dog. Would rather continue driving then eat here again.

Food looked good, but we couldn't order anything over the phone cuz the phone was busy every time we called- for twenty minutes ://////// maybe somebody left the phone off the hook or something because the busy signal was all we got every time we called. Guess they won't be getting our business tonight :/

Varied menu, nice service and good food - can't ask for much more. Rockfish was fresh, husband had the seafood stew and gave it a thumbs up. The server brought us dessert for our anniversary which was 3 vanilla flavored treats - she said it was new to the menu and I hope they keep it. It was perfect - macaroon, Cookie/tart and a custard. There are not a ton of choices here, this is on the water - like the title states- and is well worth going to if you are in town.

I would give this restaurants 5 stars for the food alone, however our waitress seemed like she couldn't be bothered to deal with us and was simply rude. I had the Seafood Romesco and it is some of the best seafood I've ever had. My husband opted for the Fish and Chips, also delicious! The rest of the staff seemed nice enough, but our waitress was just rude until she delivered the check.

Excellent meal. Pistachio Crusted Halibut was so yummy. Fried oysters were perfect, crab cakes delightful, bread fresh!! We had a large party and we were accommodated very nicely. I will be back!

I really wanted to like this place as it's a local favorite. The steamers were excellent, perfectly cooked. The oysters while fried were okay. The Caesar salad was dry, not very tasty. The chowder was very good and their signature dish, Romesco was sub par but the bottom line is the upstairs portion of this restaurant is NOT efficiently staffed and unprepared for larger parties that demand the time/attention of a server which leads to the neglect of any other customer in the restaurant. Train your staff guys. You have visitors that travel from all over the world to see this place and rely on 2 restaurants for evening dining, leave them with if nothing else good service.

Thoroughly enjoyed two delicious dinners here while staying three nights at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. There aren't that many choices in Bandon (or Coos Bay for that matter) for quality food (Alloro's was closed, Lord Bennett's and The Loft had mixed reviews) so we tried Edgewaters. I ordered the Pacific Rockfish, since I assumed it would be fresh and it was. It had the most delicious herb crust on it. I ordered it again two days later. My friend ordered the halibut on the first visit and the New York steak on the second. Both were great, with the slight edge going to the halibut. Each time, we had the Bleu Iceberg wedge salad and the waiter kindly suggested we split it as it was the largest wedge salad Id ever seen---easily 3/4 of a head of iceberg lettuce. It was the best wedge salad I've ever had. Service was top notch although could've been a little friendlier on the second visit from the female waitress. The restaurant is cozy with a bar area upstairs where you can eat if you don't have kids with you. I would've loved to have tried the rockfish tacos but they're only served at lunch. The bar had 12 year old Macallan's as well as an alcoholic version of a ginger beer from England--in other words, nice selections for a small, remote town.

We attempted to dine here, but we hadn't made reservations. While they say "reservations welcome", when we told the host that we didn't have reservations, we were treated to an elaborate show off eye-rolling, sighing, and flipping of papers. The owner then offered us a table as long as we would make sure to be done within an hour. So, if the kitchen was busy, they'd pack our dinner to go? No thanks! Save yourself the frustration and attitude. Bandon has some truly wonderful dining establishments with gracious, welcoming staff. Visit them instead.

Wonderful service and food. In our party of 8 we had 4 of the most food-fussy people in all of the planet. Just in a weird way, not in a quality demanding way. They served us well despite our problems. I found it quite reasonable cost wise as well. We paid 214 for 8 people for dinner with only 1 cocktail on the tab. The Romescu appetizer is great. Also try the Goat cheese platter. All of the entrees were to our liking.

Wonderful and elegant meal overlooking the lighthouse and harbor. My fresh halibut was cooked perfectly and served with a simple berry sauce, grilled asparagus, and tasty rice. His pork tenderloin was delicious and served with the same asparagus and also mashed potatoes. We also thoroughly enjoyed our starters of chowder and a mixed salad with huckleberry dressing. On a side note, we made reservations, asking for a table with a nice view. We were given such a table but it was in the bright setting sun so the blind was down, limiting the view. We asked about another seemingly available table that was not in the sun but were told that it was reserved for four people. Later only two people were seated here. Management was alerted and report that they would handle this. Service was friendly otherwise, and quick, and available.

Stayed overnight in Brandon on our way to NorCal. Got to town around 6p and went foraging or dinner - Edgewater's was one of the few nearby places that came up. I wasn't expecting much and we were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. It was off season and cooler out, so we sat on the patio and let our son roam around. The staff, especially our waiter, was very attentive, warm, and friendly. The seafood was delicious and tasted very fresh. I'm from the northeast and was pleasantly surprised to get crab cakes that rivaled those of my home area. Overall, a great experience and I would go out of my way to go back, if heading in that direction again.

Pan seared, oven roasted, pistachio encrusted halibut in buerre blanc sauce was outstanding! Fast, friendly service topped it off. Great!

While this might be the best place to have dinner in Bandon, it is the literal definition of mediocrity. If you are looking for lunch, go to Tony's Crab Shack. If it's dinner time... Well, you gotta eat somewhere. While unmemorable, the food wasn't bad and the service was fine. Meh.

Best restaurant in Bandon. Incredible service and food. The smoked salmon pasta was delightful. Get a table out on the enclosed patio and watch the sunset, it's unreal.

we both ordered new york steak. it was grilled well and seasoned well. but it was tough. super tough meat. the vegies (zuch, squash, broc) were grilled/sauteed and super delicious. the desserts we had, cheesecake for hubby and the chocolate bomme for me were to die for. that chocolate bomme was one of the best chocolate desserts i have ever had. i would top in again, just for dessert and coffee.

My husband and I went here last week after a long time day of fishing. The drinks were on par, the service was fantastic, and then food was absolutely wonderful. Very reasonable pricing! We have been here before, and they have renovated for the better! We definitely will be back.

We visited this restaurant while staying at the nearby Bullards Beach State Park. Friendly host and server and delicious bread made in house really started things off well. The dark and stormy cocktail went down smooth too. The pan seared calamari wasn't for me but I understand that it's a popular starter for many. The fish and chips were good, didn't knock it out of the park in my opinion but still an enjoyable meal and evening in Bandon.

We visit Bandon once a year for usually a week or so. During our visit, we try to dine at Edgewaters once or twice (once it was three times!) as they have excellent food. We are always impressed with the food and have had a bad meal. This last week was our yearly visit to Bandon, and we dined at Edgewater twice, once with a group of four and again with a group of nine. Both times, as always, the food was exceptional however the service was unbelievably slow. I expect slow service when the restaurant is crazy busy and the wait staff is short staffed, however the two nights we dined it was average to slow business and the staff seemed more than fully staffed. We did receive an half hearted apology half an hour into waiting for our food, which was a nice touch, but then waited another 20 minutes. For our large party, we made a reservation at 7:30pm, and left the restaurant at 2 1/2 hours later. After waiting for the waitress to pick up our check with our payment encolsed for half an hour, finally someone from the party took the check to them. All in all, the food is excellent however, plan on spending a few hours.

Who would've known that the cheap California wine in the large pours would've been the best part of the meal. Others have written that the chowder is hit and miss. Tonight it was a miss. HUGE chunks of potato that over powered the soup. It was supposed to be a seafood chowder with clams and shrimp. I did not get one shrimp in my cup of soup (it was actually almost all potato and watery chowder). We waited for nearly 45 minutes for our meals. My husband's rock fish was good. It was served with three anemic looking asparagus spears and rice. My seafood romanesco was very disappointing. For $28, I expected more. I could barely eat it. It was greasy and salty. The three prawns were good and the three to four clams were eh, and the crab was disgusting. The rock fish in my dish was way over done and salty. Very disappointing considering all of the good reviews.

We arrived windswept from the beach with three adults, and four children. With one infant, one toddler, and two kids under 10, I was a little anxious, but the staff was friendly and made us welcome, even when we only ordered three adult entrees and split them with the kids. The pasta dishes with seafood were outstanding, and we enjoyed a glass of wine while watching seals. Everyone was happier than expected! We will go again every time we are in town.

The food and was definitely a 5 star but the upstairs service was horrible. We called and made a reservation and were asked if we wanted upstairs or down. When we asked we were told the upstairs had a better atmosphere and view. Our waitress rushed us to look at the menu at first then when we told her we needed a minute to look she completely ignored us for 20 min. After we finally were able to order we were only brought one wine glass even after asking for a second, and the one we got was dirty. We ordered a bottle of the Paraduxx Red blend with our New York Strip Steak and Sunset Pasta. All our dishes were cooked to perfection and the wine was a perfect match. I would recommend this place for the food but not for the service from our waitress.

Wonderful service. It's been a long time since I've been to a restaurant where all the servers looked so happy to be at work. There were a table of foreign business men sitting in the same section as us, different servers but same detailed oriented service.

What a great find. It has it all - great food, friendly and accommodating staff, and a beautiful view. We went there because it was within an easy walking distance of where we were staying - Lighthouse B&B. We had expectations of something very pricey but basic; a touristy place. But no. We were wrong. The food was excellent, with fresh ingredients and a lot of obvious attention paid to quality at reasonable price. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. The wine selection was good and the beer selection was even better, though we only had wine. The seafood was fresh - we had crab cakes and the seafood stew - amazing! I cant say enough positives about Edgewaters. Just go!

Had halibut for dinner while watching the sunset from their outside seating area. I live in a very large city and travel often in my job, so lots of dining out. This place was as good as any $200 per person resturant anywhere, and a ridiculous bargin to boot. Excellent ingredients, well prepared and top notch service. I would definately return and recommend it to others.

  • Cindy M.

Nice location and atmosphere. I got the Mediterranean pasta. It was very fresh but lacked a wow factor. My husband got the seafood stew which is the house special. It was ok. The white fish in the stew was excellent but the mussels and clams were a bit tough. The staff was very attentive.

I was expecting the overpriced, mediocre (or worse) fare that we've found at many places along the Oregon Coast over the years, but I'm happy to say that we were pleasantly surprised by Edgewaters.... Edgewaters is definitely not cheap! But we found the food was really quite good. We both had the fresh Pacific halibut special ($28), which was prepared with a mushroom crust and beurre blanc and was served with rice and asparagus. The generous portion of fish was cooked absolutely perfectly! The kids had fish 'n chips and shrimp fettuccine -- both went over really well. While the desserts were not made in-house -- they come from nearby artisan bakery/confectionery Coastal Mist -- I recommend checking them out. Our table shared a lime tart and a "caramel bomb" ($8 ea.). Both were amazing! Service was very good, and the view was beautiful. Very family friendly for reasonably well-behaved kids. It's nice to have a place in Bandon that we'll look forward to returning to!

We were not particularly impressed by the food here. Service was great - everyone was pleasant, helpful and knew the menu. Ordered the goat cheese appetizer which was good but absolutely huge. It could have been 1/4 the size and been just fine. And it was good but nothing amazing - I could easily make it at home. For mains we had the rockfish entree and the shrimp fettuccine. Rockfish tasted a little funny to me - and was a little undercooked. The rice and asparagus that came with it were yummy but the sauce was bland and overall it just wasn't a great dish. The shrimp fettuccine was huge - easily 3 portions. It smelled incredibly "fishy" - and I like fishy - but it was a bit much. Sauce was flavorful but very runny, I was expecting something more creamy based on the name and menu description. Tasted OK but again overwhelmingly strong ocean taste - ended up only eating a few bites. Not sure how this place compares to other restaurants in area as we only stopped over in Bandon for the night, but it definitely wasn't impressive. Especially given the location, we expected much tastier seafood.

my huckleberry martini was perfect! the shrimp cocktail was beautifully presented and I loved the sea grass relish. the oysters had a perfect breading and cooked to perfection. my only red mark was serving the oysters with cocktail sauce, as an aoli would have been a better pairing. The staff was happy to bring me Aoli for my oysters. the views were great and a very cheerful atmosphere!

this was by far the best lunch (and dinner) we had while in Bandon. We also ate at the crab shacks on the water (long lines, teeny interior, tiny portions, expensive, disappointing). But the Edgewater had WONDERFUL sandwiches, soups & pasta! Good service! Nice view. BRAVO!

Found them in the darkness when only one other restaurant was open. Decided to take a chance after we opened the door and felt a lively vibe. The is the best meal we have eaten in many months. A very pleasant surprise. The rock fish house feature was awesome. Cooked right and had a nice crunchy exterior. Grilled asparagus. The salmon special was very nice. My wife and I shared our fish and we got to enjoy two delightful tastes. We asked to personally thank the chef...which is a *very* rare event for us. We were 'that' impressed.

Good food, prices are somewhat excessive for the portion size. Food was excellent, however exorbitant pricing knocks this restaurant down 2 stars.

    (3)
  • Ronald A.

I have no idea why this rated so high. Although the service was great , our meal was mediocre at best. The Caesar salad had too much lemon and little garlic or anchovies. The chowder was gelatinous. The batter for the fish and chips felt greasy. The best part of the meal was our server and the Pinot Gris we washed everything down with. Fortunately, we had some good chocolate and brandy in our room, so we could avoid dessert and escape.

We had a fantastic dinner. Haven't had an unbelievable great cut of Rib Eye in a long time. From Washington hand cut by the chef..... Told that from out great waiter, Glenn. Also had the Rock Fish. My favorite is always halibut but there is a new best! This fish stands alone with the flake

  • Nellyda A.

Nothing particularly noteworthy here. It's a bistro menu with bistro atmosphere. The prices are a bit steep considering the average ness of it. Nothing to complain about... But nothing to make one want to come back, either. My pasta was delicious but not inspiring... Good wine list, decent meal overall, but servers seemed more interested in each other than the patrons. For this level of service and dining I expect to pay a little less; conversely, I am happy to pay 20-29 bucks for a unique entree, thoughtfully sourced ingredients and conscientious service. However, these features were not here on my recent visit. This would be a good choice for a noisy group meal, or some such outing where the view (quite nice here) and one's company are top priorities.

We called late on a weeknight, 5 minutes before closing after we checked in late at our Bandon hotel. They told us they were willing to seat us if we headed on over. They sat us (the only table seated in the place) and never once did we feel rushed by our friendly server, who was undoubtedly ready to wrap up for the night but didn't let it show. The seafood chowder was fresh and tasty, as were our entrees (Rockfish and Fish & Chips). Highly recommend Edgewaters if you're in the area or passing through!

We were on a driving trip from Lake Elsinore Ca on Coast Highway all the way to Seattle Wa..so we stopped at many seafood restaurants both in Oregon and Washington...all were very good but the Edgewaters was EXCEPTIONAL!!!! 6 stars.... OMG, absolutely the best fish tacos and clam chowder I have ever had anywhere....the service was excellent, the view was of the river and the breakwater, really amazing watching the fishing boats pass the bar and enter the river.... The wow factor was not just the view, service, food and value well worth it to stop here for lunch or dinner...you will not be disappointed.....!!!!

Only place open past like 7 in Old Town! But overall I enjoyed eating here. Nice view of the bay and lighthouse, chowder was great, calamari was different, but not in a bad way. They serve it with cranberries and nuts and other things in a kind of medley, but it does not distract from the heaviness of the calamari's crust, which you would normally expect to be very light. Had a light pasta with prawns, very tasty and fresh, paired with a nice Riesling. Would eat here again. The only reason it's not 5 stars is due to the very awkward scene downstairs when i walked in and asked for a table. A member of the waitstaff, she could not have been more than like 15, led me to a table, then some older guy on the waitstaff threw her a dirty look and she quickly shuffled me back out to wait for a table, chatting awkward small talk with me. I tolerated it as long as I could before giving up and going upstairs into the lounge, which I found significantly more welcoming. Not sure what that older guy's deal was, I like to believe it was not a racial thing. But you never know.

Okay... Our meal was a 2 1/2 star. I did see the fish and chips that I might have rated higher. Our service was good, so I added point's. I might return to try the fish and chips. I feel like the atmosphere here is a restaurant that is about to go down. :( the wine choices were good! I will try it one more time to give it a fair shake!

Had an excellent dinner, a little loud with larger groups dining, but food was fantastic. We had crab cakes that were off the charts delish, a not overly rich chowder and rockfish. Crab cakes were my favorite, but everything was very, very tasty. Waitstaff was friendly and knowledgable and prices were not excessive. We will return and send friends in the future.

You can't beat the view and the food was marvelous. I had their fish tacos and the fish was cooked perfectly and the tacos were wonderful. My husband's pasta was first class. We had a wonderfully relaxing lunch with a spectacular view of the marsh and harbor.

The lowdown: Food and service is AMAZING! I had the Seafood Romesco and it was one of the best dishes I've ever had! The bread came out warm and buttery, the desserts are made locally and were spectacular. I wish this restaurant was in the Bay Area - I would eat there all the time! I'm convinced the people who rated this restaurant poorly don't know good food if it hit them square between the eyes!

  • Jake Z.

4 stars based on location and main course. Ambience was a bit weird - wasn't too busy and the lights were up way to high. It was dinner time and we were cooking under floods. The waiter was nice - but didn't seem to know the menu well. His answer for most questions was - "people seem to like it". We ordered calamari - not my style, but it was fine. It was sitting in a mild chili oil and had capers and cranberries - kinda weird. Bandon Roll - basically a California Roll with dungeness. It was good. Chowder - Good. Fresh fish menu - Local Salmon - Excellent. Tuna - very good. Only issue was our salads had old lettuce - they replaced them upon request. I think if you're in Bandon and want higher end food you have few choices and this is a good one.

  • Andrew F.

Complete disappointment. I ordered the Sunset Pasta, which the menu said won the "Taste of Bandon." The pasta was undercooked, the few chicken chunks were very overcooked, and the sauce had little flavor. My wife's shrimp was so overcooked it was hard to cut. The food was bad, but the service was good and we didn't get sick, so two stars.

Excellent food and romantic ambience. We shared the calamari appetizer and shrimp pasta entree. Both were delicious. The calamari portion was a bit small for the price. The view was amazing. We watched the sunset while eating our meal. Service was also great. We will definitely come back on our next trip up the Oregon Coast. Took away one star for the size of the appetizer and the waitress having a tattoo on her hand. A nice restaurant should insist that their employees not have tattoos or piercings other than earrings on female staff.

Best seafood stew? Hardly. Not nearly enough sauce to cover the bland seafood. The grilled shrimp appetizer needed the sauce to give it flavor and lacked any smokiness of being "grilled." Food was not bad just average.

We went to the wharf and saw that all the main "crab shacks" were crowded and lines were out the door. I Yelped and saw the Edgewaters listed with high ratings, so we went down to the end of the street where there was no line or waiting. The food was outstanding, my wife had a seafood chowder and split a rockfish sandwich. She says it was the best she's ever had. I had fish and chips, lots of fish and the fries were super. I'd go back there anytime, don't bother with the others. Pricing was reasonable, too.

Now I know where I'd request my last meal if I was on death row. I had the calamari, and the rockfish. Both were OFF THE CHARTS in taste and quality, and would have been a satisfactory deal at twice the price. I'd give 'em ten stars if I could. This is Iron Chef stuff!

Amazing food! Their steak an lobster was to die for and the vegetables were the best I've had. The view here is incredible!

The dinner started with a martini that was well made and generous. Dinner was delicious. I had the halibut which was perfectly cooked, my wife had the salmon which was also good. Nice views of the bay and good service made for a very enjoyable evening.

Great views, great service, great food, fair prices. We had the rock fish fish & chips and one of their specials halibut crusted with hazel nuts in a cranberry sauce. Mmmmmmm!

My husband and I come to Bandon every year in November. Last year we noticed a new restaurant but it wasn't open yet. This year we made a second trip in April for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We were going out to dinner but wanted something tasty. We love chowder and fish n chips but wanted something different. We drove by and noticed it was open and thought....well let's try it. Walking up to the door we smelled the aroma from the kitchen and both said, "Yup we are eating here." We were greeted but a friendly waitress and were sat with a view of the lighthouse. Our waiter was very friendly and our food was delicious. We had warm bread, crab cakes (Omg Yum!), my husband had the NY strip and I had the seafood pasta special. We were so full but kept eating! This is by far the BEST restaurant in Bandon. You have to check it out!

After a long drive from California, stopped in Bandon overnight and needed comfort food. Chose Edgewaters based on Yelp reviews and enjoyed fresh seafood. I had the steamed clams. They are listed as a starter but definitely enough for a meal. The seafood chowder is great - richer and less creamy than typical clam chowder. My husband had the seafood Romesco, which I also tried - delicious! The wines were expensive but local draught beers very cheap!

Surprisingly great. Mid week, off season and the food was fantastic. Grilled prawn appetizer impecably fresh and grilled perfectly. Pastas are fantastic with the Greek Scampi being the best by far. Service was great and the hostess made us feel welcomed and at home. Big city food with small town warmth.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The special of the day was salmon with pesto sauce, grilled asparagus, and rice. Excellent local fresh salmon cooked just right ( many restaurants dry out and over cook salmon.). The asparagus was great and the rice was fine but bland with only a little butter flavor to it. My wife had the fish and chips from local rock cod, wonderful. Our server was right there anytime we needed him.

Been here a couple of times and both times had issues. Thankfully, they were taken care of. Thinking about it, both times we had issues, it was with beef, maybe that is a trend or just a coincidence. Had the fish last time I was there and it was great. The family loved the dessert which I believe they have a bakery make for them. It did look fantastic. Highly recommend reservations on the weekend. Week nights they do not seem to be near as busy. Would definitely go back again.

More like 3.5 stars. Went here on a Sunday, looked to be one of the better fine dining places in Bandon. Location is good, had a great view of the bay and lighthouse. I was told that reservations were strongly encouraged so I made one for 7:30, when we got there there was like only one other party in the entire place. Food was pretty good, caesar salad was one of the best I've had and the sushi was good as well. We split rockfish fish and chips, they were just ok. Overall, good not great food, maybe a tad overpriced. I'd probably skip this place in the future and just go to the Bandon fish market.

Place looks so big from the outside so was a little intimidated but it was perfect. Ate upstairs, everything was delicious and the service was awesome. Will definitely return next time we are in Bandon.

Pacific Black Rockfish - my new favorite fish! Tried rockfish for the first time at dinner. It was topped with a lemon herb dijon crust served with fluffy, tender basmati rice and fresh grilled asparagus perfection. Loved it so much I went back the next day at lunch for the grilled rockfish sandwich with lemon pesto aioli on their house made bread roll - more of a mini loaf, really, that is also served at dinner and is a bread lover's dream. Lunch proved to be just as delectable as dinner. The fabulous food, lovely view and attentive service had us calculating the distance to the Edgewaters from our house on our GPS as we left. 8hrs - We'll be back!

This is my first Yelp review. I am doing this because our dinner at Edgewaters was THAT good. My wife, daughter and I each got something different and shared between us. We got the Beef Tenderloin, the Chinook Salmon, and the Rockfish. All were excellent. The tenderloin was extremely tender and had a garlic Cabernet Demi-glacé. The Salmon had a fennel crust and was cooked perfectly as was the Rockfish which had a lemon Dijon crust. This chef knows what he is doing. For appetizers we had the calamari which was fantastic. Very different in that it had crushed red pepper, cranberries, and capers. Also had a Caesar salad that was quite good. The wine list is also very good with a great selection at very reasonable prices. Our server was very nice, knowledegable, and attentive. I can't say enough about this place. Wish we lived near here so we could frequent it often. We were here for vacation and went here for our last night's dinner before heading home.

This was the kind of place my husband and I were looking for for our anniversary dinner. It was DELICIOUS! My husband had the steak, and ranked it in the top 5 he's ever had. I had a pasta dish that was delicious. I thought it was appropriately priced for a nice restaurant. We had a table with a great view of the lighthouse, though the sun was in my husbands eyes. Dessert and coffee was delicious too. Overall very very good.

Excellent meal and service at Edgewaters in Bandon. One of us had the perfectly prepared medium rare steak, topped with local delicately fried oysters, accompanied with a King Estate pinot gris from the Willamette Valley. One of us had the fish & chips, made with local rock fish. While the rock fish was tasty & not overcooked, it did seem a bit on the greasy side, so she wished she had ordered something else. But the meal as a whole was lovely and not overpriced for the quality of the meal & service, at $40/person (including the wine). DEFINITELY a keeper!!

Edgewaters was kind of a fall back choice for us tonight. We had a reservation elsewhere, but had to cancel the reservation because we had to stick close to home for a delivery. What great luck! Edgewaters was fantastic!!. We started with the calamari, which we both agreed was probably the best we've ever had. I was polite and offered my wife the last piece, and for the first time in 36 years, she took it!! She chose the chowder with her meal, and did share that. It was excellent (and I'm not a big chowder fan). I would go back just for the chowder. My salad was great too. The highlight of the meal though was the Seafood Romesco. It is described as a Spanish seafood stew. I've had cioppino and bouillabaisse in restaurants all over, and love them, but none have ever been as good as this. I came very close to embarrassing myself by licking the bowl, but fortunately they gave me plenty of garlic bread to make that unnecessary. I would recommend Edgewaters to anyone looking for a well prepared, delicious meal in Bandon...and I'll be back.

After consulting yelp reviews, my parents and I landed on Edgewaters for dinner during our stay in Bandon. After walking in we loved the views, but were prepared for an humble meal. We were nicely surprised to be presented with dish after dish that were incredibly tasty. We also had a very friendly waitress that let my mom and I sample several wines before landing on one. Overall, one of the best meals I have had in all of Oregon. We are already discussing going back tomorrow.

First off I will say, the food here is delicious! Even the bread they serve while waiting for your meal is yummy. However, the customer service leaves something to be desired. When we arrived we were looked at as if we had three heads because we didn't have reservations. Um, sorry, it was only 5:30pm, on a Sunday. So after leaving us waiting for a good five minutes, the hostess/waitress or whatever she was comes back from "seeing what she could do," and seats us back in the corner, by ourselves, next to where the high-chairs and wheelchairs are stored! What!? We finished our meal, and there were still a bunch of empty tables in the actual dining area. Not really into being punished for not having a reservation, and then having to sit in the corner as a result. Pretty sure we won't be coming here again!

In town from the Napa area. Never thought I'd find a fine meal in an out of the way place like Bandon, especially in "Old Town." Big surprise....and big thanks to the gal at the front desk of the Bandon Inn for the recommendation. Better than average seafood chowder. Great halibut. Surprisingly well equipped wine selection-lots of options from Napa. Good micro brews, but only in the bottle. Waitress was delightful--attentive and knowledgable.

Walked in for dinner tonight and were blown away by the seriously good food. The seafood chowder was rich with a unique flavor. Dungeness crab linguini loaded with succulent crab, sweet tomato and arugula. Great house salad too. Super friendly service rounded out a great meal.

Yelp worked good on this restaurant pick. We enjoyed the salads and pasta dishes. The sirloin steak was cooked to perfection . The chowder was to die for. The four of us who dined there said we all would definitely return. Hard to top Edgewaters.

The Edgewaters has just made my list for favorite restaurants in Bandon. It has a great pleasant atmosphere with a lovely view of the bay. Food wise, I tried the grilled rockfish sandwich with a cup of the seafood chowder. The chowder was delicious and unique because it was made with primarily a clam broth base using local fresh clams. This made it much more flavorful and really showcased the seafood it contained. My friends and I all agreed we preferred it to traditional cream based chowder. The rockfish in the rockfish sandwich was perfectly grilled and the lemon aioli was slightly creamy but fresh. The service was friendly and our waitress was very knowledgable about the menu. Edgewaters is a great place for fresh local seafood prepared in a way that showcases and compliments the seafood with out over powering it with other added ingredients. I would recommend it to anyone looking for great seafood and ambiance in Bandon.

Best calamari I've ever had! Their chowder is something to write home about! We loved this place, and everyone left satisfied. We will most definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for a superior place to eat. Thank you, Edgewaters!!
