After all the rave of this restaurant I decided to give it a try while in town from CA visiting family. Food was amazing, service was great. Live music in the background made this a fun outing. We loved the fritte (cooked spinach,) and fettuccine Alfredo. I could have done without the clam with white wine sauce on the back of the menu, not like the linguini with clams I was expecting unfortunately. Overall would return!

Food was good but nothing special. The portions were very large. The service was a bit slow. I thought it was pricey for what it was.

LOVED THIS PLACE! I had the eggplant parmigiano and my fiance had the spaghetti and meatballs. Delicious! The owner came out himself and asked how everything was and cracked some jokes. Super sweet. On the front of the menu is his story of growing up in Italy. Very passionate, this isn't a "job" for him. Great waitress too. In other reviews they said place is somewhat small but that really doesn't matter! They were even accommodating to a gluten free lactose intolerant man which is near impossible! Great place to eat.

Celebrated a family vacation at Angelo ' s tonight. Great atmosphere even for two young children, 3 and 10. The food was amazing. We had the pizza, spaghetti and meatballs plus the steak with risotto. Excellent! Great two person band singing all your favorites and multiple check ins from the chef, Angelo! We will be back. Outstanding!

Pesto Pasta was excellent! Service was spotty but fine. We sat outside and enjoyed it once the band stopped. They were fine but way TOO loud. They allow dogs outside so that it good.

Delightful dinner with my wife. We ate a delicious dinner and were serenaded by music. Over all i rated my evening 4 out of five stars. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back on our next trip to Bandon Oregon.

A small but very enjoyable restaurant. The owner, his wife and son serenaded throughout dinner. The small wine and beer list focuses on Italian wines and beers. I had the ciopino, which featured a robust broth and a good collection of sesfood. Recommended.

We had dinner at Angelo's tonight, 8/21/15. Spaghetti and meatballs were delicious! The restaurant is small and charming with live music played by Angelo's wife and son. The family is from Italy. The restaurant was busy so you need reservations. We felt like we were back in Italy tonight

We loved the fettuccine Alfredo! But some dishes weren't as delicious. But the entertainment blew us away!! The music was wonderful! Even the owner started playing the guitar a bit! Great family-friendly restaurant! Cozy and cute!

Had two meals there. One take out one dine in. Enjoyed every dish. We had ten things off menu. All were great. Really enjoyed the music. Small place and very intimate

Well -- it was a plate of pasta. A little overcooked and not a lot of flavor. It was filling, and we were hungry. But that's not much of a recommendation. It was way overpriced for what it was. We were never offered bread of any kind.. And can I just say I'm a little tired of being sold a canned drink -- that I have to ask to get ice and a glass for -- for 3-4 times the retail grocery store price? They did nothing to this can of soda but set it on the table -- Not much to say really except I hope their pizza is better than their pasta.... the bolognese was watery and had about a tablespoon of meat in it. The carbonara was flat and almost tasteless -- and the only condements on the table were salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes/seeds. No cheese. No olive oil. No bread. Just a plastic red checkered table cloth. Unsatisfactory meal.

Yumm!!! This little restaurant is the perfect place to get delicious food. The staff is very kind and attentive without being annoying. The prices for the food and wine are on the low side for the quality you receive. We had salads to start and crab ravioli/portobello ravioli for our entrées. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the cheese sauce was everything you could ever want in a cheese sauce, creamy and flavorful without being heavy or greasy. This is a family owned restaurant and the oldest son was present playing beautiful jazz guitar throughout the meal. My only complaint is that this place is not closer to home.

This place was a great experience for my wife and I our first time there on 01/01/15 for our anniversary. This place family owned and operated ,great food perfect ambiance with the owners son playing guitar, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful little gem in Bandon!! Great Italian food! Authentic and fresh. You will not leave disappointed !

  • Sara B.

The food is truly authentic and delicious. The owner himself and his wife greet and serve you. I had the pasta mare and it was great! I also had a green salad with all organic greens and house oil vinegar dressing and it was also very good. For dessert the flour-less chocolate cake was rich and the perfect size. The service is slow, but that's okay because they had nice live serenade music that makes a wonderful calm atmosphere. The place does not have a fancy appearance but the food more than makes up for the mediocre look.

Tiny place but great food, cozy ambiance. Google incorrectly showed it closed for Sunday dinner but we were lucky as there are few open places open in winter, right after Xmas. As authentic as you can make this side of the pond. Cordial reception. Felt welcomed. Very fast service for a small, family run Italian restaurant. Listening to son on guitar playing jazz with mom on violin reminded me of Stephane Grappelli. They sounded really good. We lucked out, I thought. I was not expecting such a good and authentic dinner after a good lunch. Angelo is a native of Cisterna, just south of Rome. It was great to conduct the dialog in Italian. :-)

My husband and I were beyond happy with our food! The quality of our meal and the graciousness of the owners combined for a truly satisfying experience. Bravo Angelo's!

If you want to eat delicious pasta while an adorable family serenades you, go to this place. All the staff was super nice and genuinely cares about what they were doing and whom they were working for. Who knew such a precious dining experience existed?! Plus the food is perfect. Not a thing to complain about...everything about the entire dining experience was precious.

Delicious! I went here the other night with my family while we were in town. It was about 7:00 and we didn't have a reservation on a Sunday night. They got us in anyway. The food was delicious. My husband had the chicken parm and I had the seafood risotto. You get a lot of food for the price....which we didn't think was bad at all. I can't wait to go back!

  • Ron D.

I wish I could give this charming little restaurant 5 stars. The owner and his wife came out and serenaded the the place, he played guitar and sang in Italian while his wife played violin and sang harmonies. I assume this is a regular occurrence. Any anyway while the service was good and the food was just ok, just not enough flavor for the prices that we're being charged.

I was excited to hear that there was an Italian restaurant in Bandon that offers gluten free pasta. I was very disappointed. I felt like I was eating pasta and sauce out of a box. Thinking about trying it once more, but not sure if I'm that desperate.

  • Laura H.

The Only Waiter, person working there we saw was clueless. He didn't know what Cesar salad was. Soda served in cans. After asking, waiter brought two glasses with a total of six small cubes. We liked the Napoli salad but spegetti and meatballs tasted like spegetti o's from a can. Once we put a TON of parmesan cheese, which we had to ask for, it was actually pretty good. We won't go back.

Absolutely authentic and amazing Italian food. The pasta mare is a must!! Salads and soup also were also excellent. Owned and operated by a wonderful family from Italy who not only cook but also perform beautiful music. A very special dining experience in a lovely town on the Oregon coast.

  • Peggy G.

I don't remember where I read it, but someone mentioned this wasn't Olive Garden. Thank goodness! This was authentic Italian food. Not east coast American Italian, but straight from the boot itself. This place, unfortunately, has ruined the rest of our Oregon Coast experience, as nothing else is coming close to matching it. Bandon may not have much to offer, but we will be back just to eat here again! Everything we ordered was delicious.

  • Stacey J.

This little restaurant has potential. The prices were too high for the amount of food. For example, when ordering ravioli, you only get ravioli - no bread, salad, greens- for $18. Service was poor and the waiter did not get it. He messed up the bill and it took several tried to get it straight. The ciapino was good with a good amount of sea food but again not much food for the money.

  • Mike S.

A great place. Angelo is at the door and seats you, and when we were there his wife and son were playing very good, live music. Kids loved the pizza, wife loved the minestrone soup and the Bolognese was very good. We recommend it :-)

    (5)
  • Tim B.

When the owner greets you at the door with a menu and escorts you to your table with live music playing its a great start. But it got better when the bread and appetizers came and we hadn't even got our entree which was a delight! The rigatoni alla matriciana was perfect, the sausage just right. My wife had the lobster ravioli and the cream sauce was rich and creamy. Absolutely will be back

    (4)
  • T H.

Great food and plenty of it! Hubby had the rigatoni with sausage. He said that was really tasty. I had the risotto mare. Tons of seafood! We were sad we were there for only 1 night. We loved the music and the bread tray" I enjoyed seeing the chef come out into the dining room to check on things. We would decide return.

Enjoyed a great meal last Saturday evening. If you haven't been to Angelo's on a Saturday night you at missing not only outstanding food but a fun evening of live music including Angelo himself. The guitar/violin ensemble is quite enjoyable and when joined by Angelo singing great Italian melodies it makes for a greAt experience. The food is delightful and consistently delicious. A treat you cannot miss!

It probably would have been a great place to eat if they thought we were worthy enough to eat there. We got there early to get a table and older gentleman (i'm assuming owner) told the hostess not to sit us.. Probably because we had 3 kids with us. Very unfortunate. We were so looking forward to eat there.

Excellent!!!! Amazing marinara and meatballs. We also had a cheese pizza for the kids and the primavera board as an appetizer. All so very good!!! We will return for sure!!!

Small little Italian restaurant that's offers quite a lot. Ordered the salad and spaghetti with meatballs. Must was a great amount for the price with great flavor. It also helps that the staff is very friendly!

We went on a Wednesday evening, so there was no live music, but the food was incredible. I had the four cheese ravioli which was decadent and delicious and the portion size was generous. My wife had the pesto pasta which was also delicious (we traded bites) and the portion size was again quite generous. The owner meanders from table to table chatting with the patrons and his son is the very attentive waiter. I love that they bring an antipasto appetizer tray to start. I only wish dinner came with a small dinner salad, but that is no detractor from the overall quality of this charming restaurant.

  • Tammy W.

Very fine food at a good price. Had the Chicken Parmesan this time, wonderful, hubby had the Rigatoni w/sausage and he loved it. We like the red sauce meals better than the white served here but both are good. Felt like family when we came in and the music being played by owners and friends was very charming. The only thing that would make it better is...a tiny taste of each dish ordered by patrons while you are there. Five stars if the Tiramisu wasn't so runny...good but a bit much soaking in the espresso.

  • Adie M.

Pretty sad food coming from a "real" Italian guy... Bread was served with a COLD tomato sauce. I say "tomato" and not "marinara" because there was no discernible seasoning. CANS of soda - at $2.00 each. WTF?!? Tried the bruschetta with sausage and mushrooms - ok, but a bit bland. Pizza - terrible. Sauce had no seasoning, soggy-ish crust. Also tried spaghetti carbonara. Again, very bland. Both dad and I had to lay on the salt. Tiramisu was alright, but it's tough to mess up sugar, cocoa, and mascarpone! Overall, not great, and the prices were decent IF the food had been excellent, but too much for what you got. Service - again, had problems. Service was fine until the place "filled up" with two other tables (yes, this is sarcasm). Had to ask for another diet coke THREE times before I got it. And still peeved that they have the nerve to charge $2 for it!

I took my mother there for lunch yesterday and it was FANTASTIC! Mom had the cheese ravioli with cream sauce and she loved it! The ravioli were cooked perfectly very cheesy and creamy! I had the OMGosh delish meat lasagna! I am a cheese nut and they added extra cheese for me and it was AMAZING!!! The BEST lasagna I have ever had! The owner came out to make sure we had enjoyed our lunch he was very nice and made the lunch even more special! I really can't wait to go again! So if your looking for GREAT Italian food you have got to try this!!!!!!! :-D

wow..the negative reviews on here are the polar opposite of what we had tonight. We live in Coquille and decided to try this place for the first time. It was amazing!! Best Italian I've had in years. Much better than the two Italian places in Coos Bay. I had the 4 cheese tortellini which was to die for! My husband had the Wodka risotto with seafood. Oh man....we had limoncello tiaramisu for dessert. We will be back. It's on the spendier side, but it was well worth it. We had a great waitress and the owner visited our table a few times. It was just a great experience for us overall. It's a tiny place, so maybe not huge on ambience , but for the amazing taste of the food, I can deal with that. The acoustics in the building make it a little hard to hear and have good conversation. But overall, it was very good and we will certainly be back. Thank you Angelo, for such great food and a fun evening.

My wife and I went to Angelo's based on the recommendation of the B&B owner we were staying with. We were excited to hear that there was a great Italian restaurant in Bandon but were quickly disappointed. We started with two Peronis bottles served with frosted glasses. The Napoli Salad, which we split, was served without dressing--which created one of the funniest moments we've experienced in a while--as there was a bottle of olive oil and vinegar (separate, of course) sitting on the windowsill over my shoulder, which we argued over it being part of the dinner placement or not. After using the oil and vinegar on our salad (ahem, against my advice), a women who we believe to be the owner approached the table and starred at it for a few seconds before alerting us that the bottle was merely decoration. She never asked why we had used it on our salad or addressed the lack of dressing, she simply moved the bottle back to the windowsill. Be warned, it is only decoration, be sure to ask before using any dressings placed in odd locations around the restaurant. Our entrees were a rather bland eggplant parmesan and a rich, highlight of the evening, crab ravioli with cream sauce. We finished the crab ravioli, but left a good portion of the eggplant parm on our plates. For dessert, we ordered a cup of black coffee and tiramisu. The coffee was old and tasted as if it had been warmed up from a cold pot made earlier in the day. One sip was enough to not go back for another. The tiramisu tasted like it came out of a box and we didn't take more than a few bites before asking for our check. A dissapointing trip overall. Glad to see others have had better experiences, but it seems ours was the norm.

Lack of garlic overall, pizza crust needed cooked longer, & pasta bland. A couple of ants crawling up the wall is never appealing. Friendly staff. Not returning.

This family run authentic italian restaurant is small but welcoming. The food is well prepared and the atmosphere was outstanding. The owners serenaded the patrons with italian music played on guitar and violin while our food was prepared. This is not a place to go if you are in a hurry, or if you are looking for Olive Garden. It is a place to go and enjoy the surroundings and support a family owned and operated business in a cute coastal community. Would return on future visits to Bandon.

Had a great meal (lunch). Staff were very friendly/helpful and the food was very good. I had the lasagna and my wife and daughter had spaghetti and meatballs. They split their meal and still had food leftover! We would go back again.

I'm happy to see the other people had a five star experience. We had a simple spaghetti and meatball dinner. It was OK at best. The bread they serve before the meal was cold "and I mean cold" we had two coke s and the price was 30 bucks. We left most of our meal on the plate. We eat out all the time and really are not picky. This was not a good experience.

Extremely bland food served here, which is pretty hard to do with cheese filled Italian American food. Just another disappointing meal on the Oregon coast.

it was a cold rainy saturday night but Angelo's was a fantastic find. Ordered the macaroni and cheese (not on menu) for our kids and the eggplant parmigan. I could have had thirds on the EP it was that good.

Angelo's is quant and charming, Angelo loves his job and enjoys serenading the customers. The menu is reasonably priced, I love the risotto with saffron, The raviolis are delicious the sausage dishes are also great, the spaghetti and meatballs are good and large portions. I have not been disappointed by a meal there yet after about 12 visits. I am having a hard time understanding the negative reviews. Angelo's is a great place to relax unwind with a bottle of Italian wine and take your time enjoying authentic Italian food. I hope they are around a long time I love eating there!

We went to dinner at Angelo's Italian restaurant last night. The food was delicious! My husband had the roast pork and raved about it. I had the vegetable lasagna, it was so good! Our salads were crisp and tasty and the bread was warm and plentiful. Great family restaurant, with a personal touch. We will be going back again and again.

After traveling the Oregon coast and eating at wonderful seafood restaurants, we wanted something different. We were staying in Bandon a few days and found Angelo's Italy while walking around old town Bandon. The pizza reminded us of the real pizza we had in Italy!! The bread and dip they brought us after we sat down was delicious! Angelo's daughter waited on us and was very friendly and personable. Angelo came out himself and checked to see if everything was ok. Everything was fresh and authentic. Angelo's Italy IS the real deal! Don't leave Bandon, Oregon without having a meal there!!

We came to Bandon for our February vacation and see a new restaurant has opened....Angelo's. I was pleasantly surprised to taste the pasta sauce at Angelo's.....almost identical to the authentic sauce my grandmother taught me. And I can't say enough about the home-made raviolis....grew up in an Italian neighborhood where we always bought our raviolis from one place that made them daily. The raviolis at Angelo's are even better! I recommend the eggplant, also as Angelo peels the tough skin before making it. When you arrive you are served home-made bread with a refreshing tomato dip. If you want the real thing, don't miss this place. I hope Bandon locals will love it and we will surely frequent it when we vacation here.

Ate dinner here tonight. Great service and food. Nice little restaurant. Nothing fancy but clean and spacious. Wait staff is efficient and at the same time non-intrusive. Great value. I hope this place does well.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
