Best coffee on the coast. When I go home, I stop in before I go to the beach. It is a tradition..........the two go hand in hand!

The Disneyland of golf!
Played pacific dunes on March, 12, 2013 course was in great shape...the greens were a bit slow and bumpy. Had a great caddy...Josh aka cupcake...he was good.. had dinner at Mckees pub...wonderful service and excellent pizza...an outstanding resort...
Overpriced, and not a good value for your dollar. As a 9 index player, and having read and heard all the good things, I was VERY disappointed with my 4 days stay at Bandon. 4 of us stayed on the property; 1 being a handicap golfer who required a cart. Besides making it MANDATORY that the handicap golfer had to have a caddie drive the cart (at a minimum charge of $100) there was an additional charge for the cart itself. The rooms we stayed in (Chrome Lake) were OK, but nothing out of the ordinary - and if you are going - stay off property unless money is no object. Also, same with the food, not a good value for what they charge. If you are going to spend this much money I would recommend Pebble Beach.

A 4.5 for Alloro. Now that Wild Rose has moved to Ashland, Alloro is the only game in town for excellent bistro food. The crab bisque, venison with chestnut spaetzle, and duck breast with a cranberry-chestnut salsa, were all superb. Easily as good as anything we get in the San Francisco Bay Area, and a whole lot cheaper. The tiramisu was a throwback to the classic recipe. There is a real difference in using true Savoiardi biscuits (ladyfingers) instead of cake; it had a lightness that charmed rather than an overwhelming richness that satiated. It's a small restaurant, so make reservations in advance!
The food and atmosphere are far superior to restaurants at Bandon Dunes resort. We had the avocado and crabmeat salad and linguine with clams. The wine was wonderful and the service was excellent. I commend them for not polluting the atmosphere with a tv. I plan to return.
This was a total fluke. We were staying in Bandon about a mile from this place and we asked our host at our hotel, where he would recommend to eat. He gave us a list and I actually asked about Alloro and he said, "oh my wife's family used to have an Italian restaurant and he did not think much of it". So with that ammo, we went driving up and down the main drag looking for a place that was open past 6:00, that looked like it was up to code and didn't stink like dirty fish. We just decided to walk by this place and it was the cutest, most charming little place. We walked in feeling rather self conscious about our attire, as it felt like we were truly underdressed for this place. We did not have reservations, but the hostess sat us right away just the same. We were early. We proceeded to have the most delish meals. It was perfectly cooked, timed well and the atmosphere was fantastic. It was not inexpensive, but it was so worth it. Highly recommend!

After 36 holes of golf at Bandon Dunes, our caddie (Miggs) recommended The Loft for dinner. As well as he had helped us on the courses, we knew to listen to man's recommendation when he gave it. It did not disappoint. Appetizers: Baby octopus, steak tartare, crab cakes, beet salad Entrees: Moules+frites, butterfish, steak au poirve, scallops If you come to Bandon for golf, please take an evening away from the resort, come into town, and enjoy a meal at The Loft. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Literally the best meal I've had globally in the past year...possibly ever. Literally every course, every drink was perfect. Beautiful heirloom tomatoes, amazing crab cakes, impeccable scallops and hollandaise, tender beautifully cooked duck and perfectly crafted martinis. Do not miss this gem of a restaurant! And the beignets! The service! Perfection. PS: Jim S of 4 stars...get your head examined. Or stick to Applebees.
The food is exquisite, but I had to knock off a star as it is not handicapped accessible - one flight up and no elevator or ramp. One member of our party had a very difficult climb but she made it! It's very small, maybe twenty tables, with a minuscule bar that is too close to seated diners. Other than that there is no place to wait for an available table. On to the fabulous food - The beet salad with Gorgonzola Mousse was amazing and the Butter Fish was beyond my vocabulary to describe. A decadent coffee ice cream, hand crafted by the Chef, topped off the meal. A little pricey but worth it as long as no one in your party has a physical handicap.

On your way through Bandon stop by and get yourself some ice cream. They serve more than 16 flavors and they are all delicious. The salted caramel peanut was the best ice cream I've ever eaten. A child size is $2.00 which is a heaping cup or very full cone, so it's very inexpensive as well.
As a customer, I found everyone friendly. Food was great. I had the panini. Samples of cheese were good and probably would have bought some except we are in a trailer with limited space and an already full fridge. Umpqua ice cream with generous servings! Bathroom was nice, too! As I walked out, an employee even asked me how things were in the restroom and was I happy with it. I can understand that a neighbor might be upset with the noise of construction, but for people coming into the area, it is a nice place to stop.
Our family visited the Creamery just a week ago, and it was a very nice visit. The range of products available is almost staggering - all kinds of cheeses which you are free to sample as you roam around the store. Also a nice assortment of ice cream is cones can be had at reasonable prices. The store is remarkably clean and well-maintained, and a great place to stop for a snack or some special cheese.

Edgewaters

Reviews:
My wife and I had dinner at Edgewaters Sunday night, 6 September. It was our first time in Bandon. We arrived late afternoon, approaching the golden hour and we wanted seafood. We chose Edgewaters as it is right off the water on the south side of the jetty with a great view of the boats heading in and out of the harbor. We had not heard of the restaurant. It looks a little rustic, not posh, casual, perfect for the beach setting. We decided to roll the dice and walk in. The hostess was busy seating guests and answering the phone and we had to wait a minute or two. The place was busy and we took that as a good sign. People calling for reservations were being told the earliest seating available was 8 PM, two hours out. We were beginning to wonder if we would be seated with no reservations. I tried channeling my inner Anthony Bourdain and it must have worked as we were seated in the "wine room", a quiet corner but with a view out the windows. We hoped for outside but quickly realized that everyone outside was bundled up and that it was warmer inside. Perfect! The specials were Columbia River salmon or halibut and I almost went with the salmon until our server, Ivy, informed us that the restaurant hand cut all their meats and fish, that the fish is fresh and the beef is grass fed and aged 21(?) days. There was a rib eye on the menu and I am a fan of a good ribeye. The gentleman at the table next to us overheard me mentioning to my wife that there was ribeye and he spoke up and said that he ordered the rib eye and that it was the best steak he has ever had. His wife also agreed. Well, decision made. My wife decided to have the halibut and I went with the rib eye. Surf and Turf, the best of both worlds. I ordered the seafood chowder with the steak, which was pretty good. The rib eye was perfect. Nice char on on the outside, not too much, just the way I like it and medium rare on the inside, as ordered. Tender, juicy and very tasty. Could cut it with a butter knife. One of the better steaks I've had, top five, if not top three. And I have had many rib eyes, in high end and and not so high end establishments. And this one was damn good! The halibut was perfectly cooked with a crushed pistachio(?) crust. Also very delicious. Our server, Ivy, did a great job on checking in with us and taking care of us, even though she was busy and we were sitting in the corner. Thank you Ivy!! We will be back. Cheers!
By far the very best place to eat in Bandon!!! Do not miss out on this restaurant!!! You expect very fresh fish from all of the local restaurants but you can be sure that you will get it here. Everything was absolutely delicious and was served piping hot! The view can't be beat, and the service was excellent!!
Just got back from Bandon and E dgewaters was by far the top restaurant in town/ hands down. Every appetizer and entree item was expertly prepared and delicious. They are of course extremely busy in season so there may be a wait but it's worth every minute of wait time. It's family owned and operated which is a plus and the service can be spotty at times but the Seafood Romesco will make your visit worthwhile.

This place is always the start of our vacations in this area. The treats are baked fresh every morning and the staff is very friendly. To see Bandon Old Town, you have to start here for a great cup of normal coffee or put them to work on a specialty coffee. My favorite is theham and cheese croissants that are baked perfectly. After that you are already in old town and are set for visiting the sights. For the years we have been coming here, we have never had a problem with the quality of food or the staff.
I had to stop here on our visit to Bandon, because I love bakeries. The staff was very friendly and there is a comfortable feeling about the place. I ordered a cappuccino (of course), a cinnamon roll and a date-filled bear claw. They only have paper cups for coffee drinks, so I had to make-do with that, but the cappuccino was pretty good overall. The cinnamon roll was good ..... it wasn't great and it wasn't bad, just good. I was disappointed with the bear claw. To call it "date-filled" is a misnomer. There was only a smidgen of date filling, surrounded by copious amounts of pastry dough. photo attached - I cut into the middle of the bear claw to best photograph the lack of date filling. The eclairs in the display case looked really good, and I should have ordered one of those. They looked home-made and delicious ... but I just couldn't go for such a decadent sweet so early in the day. Try the eclairs, they looked good. Next time I'm in Bandon, I will stop here for an eclair!
As we were finishing up our vacation on the Oregon coast, we stopped in here on Easter Sunday morning for some coffee and a pastry for the road. We ordered two bagels, toasted with cream cheese, two latte's and then my sister and her daughter had a seperate order behind us (paid for separately). There were only two people working - a young man and an elderly lady. We waited over 15 minutes for our order (didn't appear any other orders were in front of us). They had made our latte's and left them sitting for the 15 minutes while they "toasted" our bagels and added a scant amount of cream cheese. And when I say "toasted" I mean microwaved until they were hard and dry. This was, hands down, the worst place I've ever ordered such a simple thing. They managed to thoroughly screw up a bagel and cream cheese. The Latte, which was decent, was barely warmed through. If we weren't on a tight schedule and already on the road before we cracked open our bagels, I would have turned around and gotten my money back.I mentioned earlier in the review that my sister paid for hers separately....well the elderly lady stuffed everything (the dry, hot bagels) and my sister's chocolate items, in together. I did ask for a seperate bag for hers and ours - we didn't order together - don't bag it together. To top it all off, our order was $16.50 for two 16oz latte's and two bagels with cream cheese. OUTRAGEOUS! I will NEVER go back here and will spread the word to all friends and fellow Yelp'ers - avoid at all costs. There is a much better coffee shop/bakery right down the road in Old Town Bandon.

After all the rave of this restaurant I decided to give it a try while in town from CA visiting family. Food was amazing, service was great. Live music in the background made this a fun outing. We loved the fritte (cooked spinach,) and fettuccine Alfredo. I could have done without the clam with white wine sauce on the back of the menu, not like the linguini with clams I was expecting unfortunately. Overall would return!
Food was good but nothing special. The portions were very large. The service was a bit slow. I thought it was pricey for what it was.
LOVED THIS PLACE! I had the eggplant parmigiano and my fiance had the spaghetti and meatballs. Delicious! The owner came out himself and asked how everything was and cracked some jokes. Super sweet. On the front of the menu is his story of growing up in Italy. Very passionate, this isn't a "job" for him. Great waitress too. In other reviews they said place is somewhat small but that really doesn't matter! They were even accommodating to a gluten free lactose intolerant man which is near impossible! Great place to eat.

The chicken enchilada mole is addictive. I get it every time I can't break away. Homestyle atmosphere, good chips and fresh made salsa. My dining companion is addicted to their green sauce and it is tangy good. It is the best Mexican cuisine Bandon has seen in years. I hope they make a go of it. It is busy both at lunch (they have a daily lunch special) and at dinner where the margaritas flow. Have not been disappointed yet. Yes of course the service is slower.....it's Bandon by the Sea! Enjoy the pace.
The service was terrible! Waitress brought water glasses with ice and a pitcher of water, a basket of chips and salsa, but no napkins or silverware. She said she would be right back to take our drink orders. Finally she came back and we asked if we could order our food along with our drinks. She finally brought napkins and silverware and put on edge of table . When our food finally came there was no rice on our plates but only two helpings of beans. When I asked where the rice was, the waiter said they ran out. One person asked if she could have something else so Waitress brought her a salad with no dressing. . Could not get waiter's attention. Grrr Finally when we were done and getting ready to leave I noticed a patron who came in after us and ordered after us, had rice on their plates. What's up with that? Oh, did i mention the service was terrible? I wouldn't have written a review on this restaurant except that we went to this restaurant a month ago and had a similar experience. That time they had run out of ice tea - at noontime! Service was slow then, too. I figured the first time was a fluke - we always give second chances on restaurants.
Good, solid mexican food. The service was a bit slow, but they were quite busy. The staff was very friendly and helpful! If you're driving along the coast and get a hankering for some mexican, stop in here!
