Walking up to the front door, we were greeted by the delectable smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls. Once inside, the hostess welcomed us warmly, offering free samples if many of their baked goods. We found their menu to be filled with several hearty options. The portions were more than enough to fill us and leave plenty to take home leftovers. I could have happily made a meal of their beef stew, which was served as a soup or salad option. It was very flavorful with fresh herbs and beef that melted in the mouth. We very much enjoys how each meal felt more like home cooking than any standard restaurant fare. The staff treated us wonderfully and even included a free treat to the goodies we purchased to take home after our dinner. If you enjoy a friendly, cozy atmosphere with homestyle cooking, Heaven on Earth is well worth a trip to Azalea. We will most definitely be making a return visit whenever we pass through again.

Great roadside stop with great down home food. Desserts are not fancy but satisfying in quantity and simple quality. Burgers are spot on; nicely grilled with just the right amount of char. Their famous cinnamon rolls are huge. If a cinnamon roll fanatic, these likely will be in your top 25%, but not top 10%.

This place is a real disappointment! The cinnamon rolls they served us were a day old and just reheated. Yes they are large and expensive but stale just doesn't cut it. Our friends told us we had to stop by - so we did - twice - over thanksgiving just in case we had a bad experience the first time. Nope - it was bad twice. And even though they told us it was the busiest day of the year, they didn't have fresh buns. We definitely aren't stopping a third time! Skip this place!

This place keeps getting worse and worse; my family and I started going here in the mid 90s on road trips to and from Oregon. It's open 24 hours a day so we'd blow in and have chili or toast at three in the morning and the wood stove was always burning and the guitar music always playing and a big pot of soup was always bubbling away on the stove. Gigantic cinnimon rolls and pieces of cake; apple butter and other delicious home-made goodies. Every time we'd go back, they'd be putting on an addition or something new and big. Now, it's in its bust phase. The giftshop is no longer and no longer any tskotskes ringing up the place. Back to the same old denny's phare. You can still get enormous cinnamon rolls, but the booth seats have huge rips in them. The coffee is sub par and expensive. The apple butter is ten dollars for a small jar and the breakfasts are at least $7. So they're charging tourist trap prices without any of the "tourists" or the "traps." I find it harder and harder to get my family to want to stop here. I hope it comes roaring back: cuz it its hey day, this place rocked the casbah!

5 stars for service. Come experience Heaven on Earth at this warm and friendly restaurant off the side of the road. To start off, the staff are amazing. Very helpful and patient with the customers that like "everything on the side". The chicken pot pie soup in the sourdough bowl was creamy and we liked the added touch if grilling the bread bowl. I had the beef stew - it was rich and flavorful and served with a "dinner roll" so big it had to be sliced into 4. Fresh and warm, the dinner roll was a perfect vessel for dipping my stew. My husband had the BLT , thick cuts of bacon and built like a club sandwich with 3 layers. The cinnamon rolls - plain and caramel pecan were both delicious. I preferred the caramel pecan. I thought it was softer and slightly less sweet than the original. Overall, great experience and delicious homemade food. Only negative was the iceberg lettuce salad. Definitely worth the stop. Say hi to the owner - she was very nice.

Stopped by and had their buttermilk pancakes. I think they were about the best I'd ever had. Their bacon was perfect! My wife had a caramel pecan roll. Love this place and will definitely be back. Service was great too.

Exit 86 off I-5 in Southern Oregon. Wonderful Gem off the beaten path. The outside is deceiving. Inside, it's open, airy, very clean, smells like fresh cinnamon rolls and the people are warm and friendly. Soft music playing instead of loud, mind jarring junk. The food was excellent. Hot turkey dinner..nothing beats that! Huge assortment of fresh cakes, pies, cookies and cinnamon rolls to go. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Only ate the cinnamon roll which was amazing and enormous, so I cannot rate their food entirely but by far the nicest group of people I have ever talked to!

In front is a 2 story log cabin cafe. Back bldg is labeled "EXPRESS" where u can get a fast bbq rib lunch. We were told the ribs on the "buffet" were 2 days old and yes, they tasted that way. Fortunately he was finishing up a couple racks on the grill. Mr. B was lured by those so we stayed. Served with apple butter bbq sauce that was tasty, fresh fruit, potato salad, beans, and rice. Weird. The cherries tasted like essence of garlic powder and appeared to be in the fridge too long. Baked beans - fresh out of Bush's canned beans. Chicken flavored rice came straight out of a box. Potato salad straight out of a plastic container. Then there was the mouse poop on patio table. No wonder he is still selling ribs from 2 days ago. Not worth the stop. Not a "heavenly" meal except the ribs themselves. BTW- the front building is a charming cafe and bakery. The baked goods look homemade and smelled divine. There were samples of bread pudding, berry cobbler, peach cobbler, and cookies. The berry stuff was the only stuff we cared for. We decided not to buy anything but some Marion berry jam, the reason we stopped in the first place. I don't have much reason to stop again unless I want to steal a sniff of the cinnamon rolls.

This is everything you could want in a country restaurant. In the country, you hope to find friendly, attentive service plus something unique about the food. The cinnamon buns are huge and I assume, good from the other reviews. Christian guitar music played in the background. I had the ham and egg breakfast which I considered to be better than"downtown". I would have given 5 stars if the floor had been mopped and waxed. :-(

  • Brandon C.

Great experience! I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious, tasty melty cheese and grilled onions. We also bought one cinnamon roll and they gave us THREE, so kind and generous (and boy are they good!). Wonderful service and food!

My family stopped there over the weekend and bought one of their "famous " cinnamon rolls for me - what a waste - the damn thing weighted over a pound and was basically a mass of gooy uncooked dough. Maybe instead of going for huge you should focus on good or at least edible; besides the fact it cost over 10 bucks!!! Anyone reading this don't bother stopping - the place is dirty they can't seem to keep the flies out or off the food, and the cost is out of sight.

Heading back to Washington State and we were getting hungry. We pulled out our cell phone and looked on Yelp for nearby places to eat....Heaven On Earth was the first places that popped up and it had great reviews and now we know why. Staff were friendly and the menu was huge and everything sounded great. They serve large portions of food so we had dinner in the car later that day. I posted some pictures to show what I'm talking about.

First the people n service in this place deserve a full 5 star rating. Good ole fashion Oregon hospitality is so wonderful n rare. The pies n cinnamon rolls a 3.5 for their old fashion traditional goodness. But I give only 1 star cause I spent $19 dollars on a meal that was worth $5. I picked the place as I was craving fries n gravy old fashion tradition. N being 100 degrees outside I would balance that with salad. I did not get fries or home fries, just boiled potatoes barley tossed in pan, n a salad of iceberg lettuce. My advise to management to help keep this landmark busy n open is step into Oregon in the 2000's. Talk to local farmers n bring in fresh healthy local produce n menu options, even truckers these days care about eating good. Get free range wholesome meats that match your title of Between Heaven n Earth. N try your hand at some whole grain/ wheat rolls n sweets with a gluten free option in their. I guarantee you'll be busy as a bee again. Your prices n name already reflect this new tradition of Oregon quality. I just would not stop again for bleached white flour, or to pay $19 for boiled potatoes n iceberg lettuce. Wishing u the best...

Christmas Day early dinner..........outstanding! I had a grilled chicken sandwich and home fries, my wife had split pea soup and a salad with raspberry vinaigrette, soup served in a sourdough bread bowl. Chicken breast, grilled onions, melted cheese on grilled sourdough, with excellent home fried taters. I tasted both my wife's soup and salad, soup was really flavorful, and the raspberry salad dressing was great. Servings were generous, and the coffee was better than most diners. Staff was friendly and efficient, it's a funky looking building right off the I-5 freeway, well worth the stop! Great selection of baked on premises pies, sweet rolls, other desserts. I wouldn't pay much attention to the negative reviews, food snobs would be better off North in Eugene, or South in Ashland, this place serves top quality comfort food without any pretense, nouvelle this, or fancy "plating"! Come to eat in a friendly atmosphere, get some great baked stuff for later. My wife and I have already decided this place will be our "Go-To" place for Holiday meals......

Well. It is what it is so I shouldn't diss too much. It's a diner that has some very yummy but overly sweet deserts n pies. Think crisco crust. Don't expect healthier things like organic lettuce in salad "iceberg". Expect American cheese n gravy. They could use a chef that has a sense for balance and herbs as the stew was meat n salt but missing the real tastiness. The turkey is the real deal from a roasted turkey n home fries are tasty!

This is a "must stop" for us anytime we head south on I-5 from Eugene and again on our way home - whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner or coffee and dessert. They're open 6 am to 10 pm and learned recently they plan on being open 24 hours in the near future. It looks a little "funky" from the freeway, but take my word for it - more than worth the stop! Start with a sample or two or three of their yummy desserts as you enter (and don't forget the sample cookies as you leave.) My husband's favorite is their meatloaf - any time of the day - but today he had chicken pot pie and enjoyed it so much he bought two more to bring home. Their soups are always good - today I had clam chowder (mmmmm!) Haven't yet ordered the liver and onions, but I understand it's one of their most popular entrees. Portions are generous and the service is tops! We recommend this to everyone traveling I-5!

We stopped here for breakfast on our way back from Medford. WOW. Their eggs were fresh and the bacon was thick and juicy. Even though this place is a few dollars more than Denny's, you will not be disappointed at the large, heavenly portions. Breakfasts come with their flaky, homemade biscuits and their nationally known famous apple butter. Before you leave, make sure you take home their world famous Hummer sized cinnamon rolls, chocolate cake, or marionberry cobbler to-go. Heavely desserts. I've got to stop eating like this!!!!!!

If you find yourself crusin' the I-5, craving some massive baked goods, and looking for a road-worthy stop, seek out the rustic comfort that is Heaven on Earth Restaurant. The interior is a marriage of rustic country charm and Christian kitsch. The service is hospitable and not overtly judgmental of road-weary heathens. Food is classic comfort foods and American standards; the food is filling, but nothing too special. Prices are high, and not due to use of quality ingredients. The bakery items are better than the food, in my opinion. There's apple and berry cobblers, pumpkin bread pudding, pies and cake by the slice, and samples of several items on any given day. Everything is available to-go. What makes me stop at the HoE is their pineapple upside down cake and their world famous cinnamon rolls, which come in two sizes: regular, and family sized (read: as big as your head!). I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon rolls; they are a baked good I could take or leave on any given day. However, I have gotten some wonderful, fresh out of the oven, moist, cinnamon-y, sticky rolls here and with the addition of their fondant frosting (which comes in a separate container if the rolls are too warm to frost before packaging) is wonderful and not overly sweet for the whole experience. The pineapple upside-down cake is one of my boyfriend's favorite types of cake, and he says HoE does it justice. All in all, a good place to stop, stretch your legs (there's not much of a view from the sparse parking lot), drop some dough and fill up on sweet, sticky baked goods and enter the carbohydrate coma. Make sure you have a designated driver!

A must stop place when driving I-5 in Oregon. When you walk in the place you can't help but smell the aroma baked goods. Great breakfast stop and just good old fashioned food. Cinnamon rolls are to die for. I am getting hungry just thinking about it. Just stop there and eat and you won't be sorry

This is actually my second time here. And it was still worth the stop. Good food and good service. I ordered the Chili Omelette with home fries and a biscuit. My boyfriend ordered the bacon and eggs with a short stack on the side. Everything was delicious!

Completely enjoyed the stop here today. Great food, great service and great hospitality. We were a very large group of 12 and everyone was extremely happy with his/her food. The pastry tasting on the way in and baked goods on the way out were all amazing. The meatloaf sandwich looked fantastic and I ordered the chicken pot pie. It was fantastic and i had plenty for dinner as well. A must stop if you are in the area.

An interesting stop off the highway in Oregon. Very small town & rural. A horror film could plausibly be set here. I got a cinnamon bun. It was cold in a plastic container, seemed a bit stale. Regardless of the food this place is still awesome just because of what it is and where it is.

Okay, for 20 years we've driven past this place and every time we comment that we should stop and try their cinnamon rolls since we've heard so many different people rave about them. Today was that day. We were all so excited to finally pull off I-5 in the middle of nowhere and try out the famous gigantic cinnamon rolls and pies. Ugh! Disappointed! The cinnamon roll is nothing but a huge hunk of dry bread with a whiff of cinnamon and a blob of sticky icing all collected at the bottom of the container. So gross!! It really was the most awful tasting cinnamon roll I've ever had in my life and I thought you couldn't get any worse than Big Bear Diner cinnamon rolls. I was wrong. The other thing we ordered was the Marionberry pie. The berry filling was quite delicious, but the crust was a chewy, pasty, flavorless glob of goo that I had to spit out. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, so that part was nice. But, the cinnamon roll was wretched and we threw it away; we also scraped the berry filling out from the doughy goo, ate that and tossed the "crust". When you first walk in there are desserts spread out all over the tables; some wrapped, some just in open air. Kinda freaked me out that they were just sitting out in the open where people could walk by and touch them, talk next to them as spit comes out of their mouths, etc. But, the stuff we ordered was covered. There were also samples of a few things like cookies, pumpkin bread pudding, apple crisp, and the marionberry filling. The marionberry filling was good, so that's why I ended up with a small container of the pie. The sample was JUST filling, no crust. Oh well, live and learn. This little jaunt off the freeway cost us $19.95 for one cinnamon roll and one small container of a piece of pie. We will not be stopping at this place again, but it's nice knowing we're not missing out.

My opinion is this. The baked goods are ok and maybe worth the stop. If you need lunch get as far away from this place as possible. The good: 1) Was hungry and happened to be on Quines Creek Rd. 2)They have cinnamon rolls the size of my head. 3) Free samples. 4) Fairly clean bathrooms. The Bad: 1) I was the second on 2 customers in the restaurant for lunch and the waitress got my order wong. 2) When the waitress told the cook she got my order wrong he didnt believe her then came out to my table to read my tiicket for the order. 3) I would bet $50.00 that was canned soup. 4) My salad was warm: It was 1 egg slice, 1 cherry tomato, 4 cucumber slices , and a pile of warm lettuce. 5) The corner of the windows have cobwebs with dead fly and bugs in them. 6) my 1/3 of a pound cheeseburger was eh.....

Like a 40 foot dinosaur statue in the middle of the desert, this place is a landmark that must be experienced. I suspect the claim of "largest cinnamon roll" is accurate. We did breakfast hear while staying at 7 Feathers. Comfort breakfast food is definitely an accurate description. Had the ham and egg omelet with home fries and toast. I will say the Apple Butter is absolutely FABULOUS....some of the best I have ever had. Staff was friendly and welcoming. You must come and experience this place at least once if you are a regular I-5 traveler. Bring a cholesterol pill and insulin shot kit however.

So far so good applebutter everywhere So I dragged my friend here after searching on Yelp for something to do in Azalea and this is the only thing there. ...one word.... FOODGASM This is probably the best food I have ever had as far as I can remember. I grew up on home made food in Czech Republic, both my girlfriend and I are great cooks ... I cried during my second meal at Heaven on Earth, the food was so good. Even the corn was CUT FRESH off of a cob. Maybe I was starved for good food after our 5 day trip from Alaska, but even the hospitality in this place is superb; 3 kinds of fresh free cookies on the way in, home made jams and apple butter on the table. Pray for a fluffy biscuit fresh out of the oven, that with some apple butter will get you over the top. Then come the cakes and pies, not to mention the free pie filling with whipped cream. HEAVEN ON EARTH!! I've seen Jesus, he is a regular here! My soup of the day was chicken that still layed the egg that morning; the egg was hardboiled on my friend's salad. They are a truck stop, truckers get 25% off (sorry, only 18 wheelers count, we tried). Lastly, don't worry about overeating; they have a sofa and a recliner ready for you to take a nap in. I love this place!

Do not miss this place! Great food, baked goods that are spectacular and very friendly service. Get off the freeway and try it! You won't be disappointed, and if you miss the cinnamon rolls you are making a big mistake!

Giant Cinnamon buns the size of a small child. It took me and my friend 2 days to finish it off and we are by no means small guys. You can get it with more frosting and melted butter on top, just in case that coronary isn't happening quickly enough. If you get it to go they put it in a full size 3 layer cake container. And it barely fits. The size is not the only positive thing about it, it is actually one of the better cinnamon buns i have had, very tasty even the next day. We were camping and warmed slices of it over a hot plate. The breakfast of champions. In eating this i know full well i have taken a year off of my life, but id do it again.

Their baked goods were fabulous I tried the cinnamon roll, honey bun and berry tart. All very tasty and had me wanting more! But if you choose to get "day old bread" check it for mold! We had to return ours...

was not busy, yet they managed to turn a simple, surprisingly pricey order into rocket science. ordered breakfast. 12.95 for eggs, hamburger, potatoes & toast. did not receive meal as ordered. eggs were COLD..yum.. meal sent back.given stew that tasted canned. received argument from cashier stating meal cooked as written even though it wasn't what I ordered before she stormed off. nice, huh? Last I checked, lots of people STILL out of work. Don't like your job folks? QUIT! Know LOTS of people who would LOVE your job. Figure our server was from LA. - THIS PLACE SUCKS BIG TIME !!!!! RUN, DON'T WALK TO A SANDWICH SHOP

This is a little off the beaten path, but right off I-5 if you are heading through southern Oregon. I was, so I stopped. Had seen this place a million times but after seeing an article from Sunset magazine about the cinnamon rolls had to check them out. Visited mid-day on a Friday, and was one of 3 people total aside from employees. The building is really large, with lots of doors you're not supposed to go through. Keep following the signs and eventually you'll end up at the entrance. Huge parking lot with lots of semi-trucks parked when I was there, which felt kinda weird. Once inside, you are greeted by baked goods. And I mean seriously. They are everywhere. Huge cakes in every combination of flavors, pies, candy, muffins, and cinnamon rolls.... Oh the cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls come in bowl size or head size. By head size I mean the size of an adult head, not a child's head. They are pricey, as are all the other baked goods, but I appreciate homemade stuff so I bought a few things. Noticed plenty of seating, so maybe I'll stop in for a full meal sometime, though it's clear that the bakery side gets the majority of business here. Picked up a slice of lemon cake ($8-$10) for my mom, a head-sized cinnamon roll ($12) for my brother in law, and a container of peanut brittle ($7) and toffee ($7). That's right, if you're counting, this stop cost me almost $40! My fam was super impressed though- each item was a huge hit. Portions are huge, so any one of these things could satisfy multiple people, and did :) Definitely visit this spot, but plan to spend a lot of $.

Walking in the door and seeing all the wonderful baked goods was overwhelming! We took home a small cinnamon roll to share when we got home. The patty melt was ooey gooey, just like to should be. Hubby said the country fried steak sandwich was a little dry, but was perfect dipped in his chicken pot pie soup! Now we have somewhere to stop, other than the truck stop in Canyonville. The service was a little too good, almost to the point of annoying, when we were offered dessert before our meals arrived.

Delicious soup and snicker doodles! Heaven on Earth was a perfect little stop on our Oregon getaway. It's nothing fancy, but the food was great and the service was wonderful! We had the nicest waitress, she knew that I was interested in a soup and brought out a sample (which was more like half a cup). If you are looking for a good home cooked meal, stop in here and buy a cookie (or 6) to go!

4 stars for baked goods, 3 stars for food. On trips from Portland to San Francisco, it's hard not to notice the large building on the side of the road with giant letters spelling out: Heaven On Earth. When confronted by a sign like that out in the sticks, you can't help but wonder if there isn't a group of religious nuts inside looking to put the fear of god into you. But just below that sign, in smaller letters, it reads: Home of the famous cinnamon roll. Then you think, "Well, it looks like a tourist trap, but maybe there's a really good cinnamon roll inside," and you pull over. Upon opening the door, your eyes widen as you see the biggest cinnamon roll you've ever seen in your life! It's crazy huge! Like 8 inches wide by 5 inches tall! It's a cinnamon roll on stilts! An adventure of epic pastry proportion! You're about to embark on an expedition directly up the Great Cinnamon Pyramid of Giza! If you can break the spell of the sultry cinnamon roll, you'll turn to find a table filled with about half a dozen varieties of dessert samples, which may include: bread pudding, berry cobbler, apple pie, and cookies. They're all spectacular. After a couple visits there, we finally decided to try their dinner. Unfortunately, we realized that dessert is the star of the show at Heaven On Earth. The service was great. The food was filling, but merely average and just a hair overpriced in my opinion. Heaven On Earth is worth visiting for the cinnamon rolls alone. Even if you don't want a towering cinnamon roll, don't worry, they have regular sized ones too. If you're looking for a good meal, it's not bad, but don't expect it to match the quality of their baked goods.

Does Greyhound get kick-backs for delivering passengers into this tasty sugar-coma deathtrap? An idle question, I assure you... Bet I wasn't the only person introduced to HoE via GreyHound... in those interminable bus rides betw. Ashland-Portland & vice-versa, drivers always stop here for a lengthy break. How many people could possibly be getting on/off in the greater Quines Creek Rd. area? population must be, what? 16 total? Some of them are undoubtedly of the refusing-to-pay-taxes, manifesto-writing, dropping-out-of-society set unlikely to be utilizing Greyhound's services in any case. Southern Oregon seems to specialize in aiding/abetting those types.... I digress. For those of you who continue to believe there were never any WMD, you are sorely mistaken. There are CLEARLY Weapons of Mass Destruction hidden in plain view--- the rarely seen, seldom-talked-about, poorly understood Carbohydrate Bomb, is here in all its menacing, lip-smacking glory. Why else do you think it's called Heaven on Earth? What do they have to do, paint 72 vestal Virgins on the sign---each one with delicious cinnamon roll icing still caked on her pious little lips??? There's little I can tell you that hasn't already been said by fellow Yelpers. I've stopped in at this placed on/off over 20 years now, and it hasn't changed in any significant way, though they have opened an "express" store adjacent to the main restaurant. Mainly the express seems to be for the BBQ, which is ok, but their sauces are all of the sweet variety. This BBQ freak needs some pain-inducing HEAT in the meat..! (That sounds bad, but it's an innocent, and sincere sentiment..!) Well this commentary turned out to be quite a mouthful---- only fitting for HoE, whose confectioneries and other goodies have been and continue to be unbelievably decadent mouthfuls for decades, and hopefully will continue to be so for many more to come...!

Good food, great service but terribly OVER PRICED !!! As visiting restaurants and someone else cleaning up is what I'm all for, trying Heaven On Hearth and driving 35 miles south of Roseburg was on our To-Do list Monday, 5 September. Nothing to complain about . . . well, I take that back. Little Miss Picky and I both ordered the French Dip and while it was a lot of meat, it was tough and chewy. The potatoes were really good and we both agreed about the potatoes. Mr. Picky ordered the endless stew, which he enjoyed very much and he even gave me a taste so I could verify his testimony. After two bowls of stew he wanted to try the chili with onions and cheese. He said he enjoyed the stew better. We were really looking forward to coming here as HOE was recommended by a real estate agent. We just about jumped out of our clothing when we saw the prices for breakfast: the average price was $ 9.95+. The oatmeal: 7.95. Coffee: $ 2.50. OUCH ! COME ON ! $ 2.50 !! Lunch prices for sandwiches started at $ 10.95+. The small cinnamon buns are $ 5.95 The slices of cakes are $ 6.95. This is really what we came for but by the time we arrived we needed more than dessert. After spending $ 44 on lunch for 3 people, we decided to go home and make a chocolate cake. Mr. Picky, who is a business/mathematical genius, reasons on how much it cost restaurants to make items on the menu. He said their mark up is outrageous. Had the French Dip been priced the going rate, aprox: $7 - 8 and the cakes etc. $ 5, we might just try them again since we are local by 35 miles. But actually, since we still love to cook and bake, just think how much food we could come up with for what we spent on lunch and petrol !! Terribly disappointing as HOE would have made a nice place to return to, however, we will NOT be returning. So Folks, keep traveling another 35 miles north to Winston or Roseburg; The Brix, Dino's and Tom Toms are better and the prices are FAIR ! !

This place is a rip-off. Strike 1: $12-$14 for a tiny jar of apple butter / jam. Wow. Strike 2: No fresh cinnamon rolls. If fresh ones were wanted, one had to wait an hour. Strike 3: The special sandwich of the day wasn't available (turkey and cranberry). They were all out of cranberry sauce. I guess they didn't think to change the sign to reflect such. Cinnamon rolls are just okay. Definitely not "world famous" quality. People that work here are not very helpful. Restaurant in general is in need of an overhaul. Not worth it.

The food here is great! It's a bit pricey for me but I'm a pretty cheap guy. The dessert menu is really a huge display of cakes and pies that you can choose from. If you're headed down I-5 just outside of Glendale. It's absolutely worth a stop.

This is an unusual place. Almost think there is some eccentric religious cult hidden or boarding on the property somewhere. The cinnamon rolls are big, tall, stacked deep, expensive and not good. The big ones are $12.95 each and are nowhere close to being as good as Pillsbury cinnamon rolls you bake at home. Really feel people who praise this place just don't get it. Tasted several samples also...not one was good. I know I could make a better cinnamon roll than this place without a recipe...really lame. Avoid....repeat avoid! If you like this place you have damaged tastebuds and horrible perception. Just because it's big, doesn't mean its good. For a minute I thought the Children of the corn were going to come take me away.

The only similarity to heaven is the difficulty getting in. We, and countless others couldn't find the entrance after being told by a faded sign that the obvious double doors were not the entrance which was in fact, around the other side of the fairly large building. Should be called "Another Restaurant on Eath" although the baked goods looked nice but we didn't try them. The number of things they were out of made the menu challenging right thru 'til the meal was served. The uninterested staff was another matter. I mean, is it too hard to smile just once? And when your at it, could please bring the lemon I asked for before we leave? It may not get here before I finish writing this. Oh, and the midi based old country music that's repeating the same six songs is making me dizzy.

Saw reviews and decided to give it a try on our road trip. Cute little cabin looking place with more homemade goodness inside than expected, with little samples before you buy to ensure your happiness. We had breakfast (served all day), sandwiches, split pea, chowder, salads and had very happy tummies upon leaving! Everyone really enjoyed the meal, the service, and the hometown atmosphere:). We will be back by for a meal and the amazing treats on our next trip! Highly recommend:)

I had such high hopes for this place. Just happened upon it headed north. Sigh. We ordered the french dip. 1.4" thick piece of tough beef. Not good. Bun was nice, grilled... potatoes were good. Baked goods? Far too sweet for me. Sorry, won't be back.

Maybe it's not the most spectacular dining experience you've ever had, and maybe the cinnamon rolls the size of your head seem a wee bit excessive, but three words describe the reason I love Heaven on Earth: Location, Location, Location! And round-the-clock hours! Tucked into a pocket of one of the more mountainous stretches of I-5, this restaurant was a lifesaver when my poor little truck chugged his last chug on the freeway in the middle of the night. This was in the days before cell phones were everywhere, and even today there's no guarantee you'd get coverage in these hills. Luckily, a friendly semi driver was kind enough to take me the few miles to Heaven On Earth. Once we arrived, they let me use the phone to call AAA, offered me coffee, and provided a warm place to wait for the tow truck. At 2 in the morning, that's more than you can hope for. I continue to drive by about once a month, and although it's been nine years since I've stopped in, seeing them there still comforts me every time.

On a train ride from LA to Seattle, I held a conversation with a young lady that spoke highly of this establishment and their massive cinnamon rolls. So, while on a rode trip from down the Pacific, I looked it up online and made a point to stop by. The menu is simple. The prices are steep. However, since they're on the main drag and you have little option, they gouge as much as they can or what they justify as keep themselves afloat. Nonetheless, their cinnamon rolls are huge. So, be sure to save room or bring five other friends to share it with you.

Heaven On Earth is a complex that includes a restaurant and truck parking. It's in a very peaceful and relaxing setting in the in the southwest Oregon hill country. just off I-5 between Grants Pass and Roseburg and it's very easy to get in and out of no matter what you're driving. They are VERY TRUCKER FRIENDLY. This is where I was introduced to soup in a bread bowl. Their soups are very tasty too, but having them served in a bread bowl was a very nice touch. The soup in the bread bowl was my favorite thing to have there. They have some very good desserts. This is also where I was introduced to marionberry jam and pies. The restaurant has a very down to earth, country type of atmosphere. In the mood for cinnamon rolls? They have the biggest cinnamon rolls I've ever seen. They're made on site. Don't plan on eating one all at once. One cinnamon roll can very easily be shared between 3 people. The restaurant is open daily but not 24/7.

Bakery is AWESOME huge cinnamon rolls. And very generous portions in bakery. Prices a little on the steep side though. The restaurant is very over priced. $35. for a hamburger, a patty melt, and a child's portion of eggs and a biscuit. Good place to stop for the bakery, but I would pass the restaurant and eat else where.

A place this good? In the middle of NOWHERE?? I've driven by this place (on I-5) 3 or 4 times a year for a long time, finally stopped when I saw the "worlds best cinnamon roll" sign. Ended up buying one the size of a CAKE (just to say I did) and it was awesome! Food was a bit pricy but really good...when we left the manager followed us out to our car to let us know they just took freshly baked monster rolls out of the oven and did we want to swap ours for that! Really?? We politely declined as we were gonna eat em later anyway. Then she comes out with 2 packages of cookies (one for each of us) saying we just -had- to have road food. Everyone was wonderful, food was great, pastries do die for, what more reason do you need to stop??

We came here for a pregame meal...imagine serving a bunch of rowdy, hungry, 17 and 18 year old guys right before their playoff game - add the fact we had been in the bus for 6 hours and hadn't eaten. That said, they gave us free stuff from their bakery - totally free - coach was shocked...it's amazing. Now I travel from Portland to LA and this is a stop for me no matter what...glad i found it again.

The food was delicious! We got a cinnamon roll to go and when we showed her the check in to get a free beverage, she added on another cinnamon roll too. We can't wait to get home and try them.

In my frequent trips up and down the I5 corridor, I have had ample opportunity to visit Heaven on Earth. After much praise by one of my co-workers, I decided to visit the place. During my visit, I was warmly greeted by what appeared to be one of the two people working there. While the general atmosphere is warm and inviting, the place was vacant. The décor could certainly use a freshening up along with some repairs to the seating. As stated by other visitors, there was a table of beautiful looking deserts and other baked treats ready for sale. My goal was to have a simple comfort food dinner followed up by one of the famous rolls. not feeling very adventurous, I went with a cheese burger and fries for my entrée. The food was fine by general burger standards with an ample portion of fries. The food was hot and fresh. The service was prompt and never wanting. It was time for the much celebrated cinnamon roll. This is where things really went downhill for me. The rolls certainly look very appetizing, rich with cinnamon and icing. What I received was more like a stale loaf of bread with some cinnamon swirled in it in the shape of an overly large roll. The bread was tough and did not have much flavor besides a genera loaf of cheap white bread you buy in any grocery store, the surprising this is it was very stale. The cinnamon looked to be in good supply, but the taste did not match the appearance. Lots of what looked like cinnamon, but not much cinnamon flavor. I don't know if this was due to the overwhelming abundance of bread or if the spice was just past its prime. Again, I cannot stress enough just how stale the roll was, this along with having the additional toughness of being reheated either in a microwave or a warming oven, I cannot tell. As I mentioned previously, I have driven many times past this establishment, and continue to do so. The parking lot is never full. Rarely does it have more than 4 or 5 cars present. On one occasion I did see a school bus in the lot. This makes me wonder about the volume of baked goods that I saw for display upon my arrival to the lobby. If, as a dine in customer, I received a roll that did not have the taste of a day old, but days old. Just how old is the product on display for sale? One thing that did bother me is the overt display of Christian propaganda. I don't know if it occurs to the operators that not everyone might share their faith. Nor would they generally like to have a meal where someone else's faith is so prominently displayed. I know it's their business, and they have every right to share their faith and other world views as they like, it's just that some people want to go to a restaurant to eat, not to feel like they are being proselytized. A small tasteful symbol of their faith is fine. Tables full of literature, tracts and other imagery are very off-putting to someone who may not share that particular faith. Again, they have every right to display their faith as they like, just as I have every right to spend my dollars where I like. In closing, the entree was fine and fair for the price but I will not be returning.

We used to live in Roseburg, but now live in Medford. I can't tell you how many times we have passed this place on the freeway and wondered what it was like. Well we found out tonight! We drove from Medford, and some friends of ours drove from Roseburg, and we decided this would be a good half way point to meet for dinner. Several Yelpers commented on the Cinammon Roll...which was NOTHING to write home about. It was awful in fact. It is gigantic (so big that it fits in those plastic containers that the grocery store bakery puts their cakes in), it was very dry, and the center was super, super goey with way, way too much sugar and cinammon. Yes, I did not think it was possible to ever have too much cinammon or sugar, but it is. Maybe they had an off day, or maybe they had been sitting out for a couple days...but they were not good, and they were not fresh. I wish I had gone with the chocolate cake or the cobbler. Their dinner was decent...except I ordered the chicken pot pie soup in a sourdough bread bowl. When they brough my soup they said "sorry we were out of the breadbowls". Had I known this before I ordered I might have chose something else on the menu. Their dinner bread that they put out was also dry. The service was friendly and prompt, but overall I probably would not choose to come back here. If I did, I might try one of the burgers.

I am always on the lookout for a good I-5 pullout featuring tasty, real food and a place to let my dog stretch her legs. Someone recommended Heaven on Earth, as they have a big grassy area behind their restaurant and their baked goods are fantastic. I passed it the first time by accident - they're on Exit 86 - but swung around and made the stop. I am so glad I did. They were offering free samples of marionberry cobbler, some sort of baked apple deliciousness and yes, had cinnamon rolls as big as my head available. I ate a week's worth of calories in the form of one of their 'small' sized cinnamon roll, and kept doubling back for more and more of that juicy fruity baked goodness. The fruit they use comes from Oregon and Washington, everything is fresh, and it is just so lovely to walk into a place that is cozy, friendly, not a chain, AND offers good food. I didn't eat any of their non-bakery items, but may in the future. But I know that I won't be passing Exit 86 without pulling over any time again soon. They're open early in the morning until late at night - something like 8 am - 10 PM, so that is a big bonus, too.

Our friend recommended we stop here on our way back to California. It was already 9pm when we pulled into the restaurant and I was concerned that everything would be shut down. But I was pleasantly surprised. The staff treated us warmly and we had a wonderful meal. You will not believe all the goodies they have in the li'l store, and they even have free yummy samples for you to enjoy. I would recommend stopping as you will really enjoy the experience and the food. It really is a little piece of Heaven on Earth!

I thought this place had quite a bit of charm. As you walk in, there's a long table full of cakes, chocolate dipped strawberries, macaroons and desserts like bread pudding and apple crisp. The thing that stands out the most are the HUGE cinnamon rolls. "I'm talking like Sputnik. Spherical, but quite pointy in parts." There's also samples of some of the desserts as you walk in. I thought it was a nice touch. Anyway, the place was empty at 7ish on a Saturday. There was one table leaving as we arrived. I was surprised given there's nowhere else close by. The menu is full of home style meals and you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner at any time. We ordered our dinners which included soup or salad, a vegetable, fresh made rolls, mashed potatoes & another dessert sample for close to $15. I got the chicken fried steak while my dining companions ordered the roast beef. We opted for chili (with a little cheese on top) and it was quite tasty. Our dinners were fairly good and huge in size. Two people could easily share these. The roast beef was tender and flavorful with a nice brown gravy on top. My chicken fried steak was hearty and the country gravy didn't need any additional flavoring. What was really nice was the optional sauteed onions and mushrooms on top of the CFS. Delish! The veggie was canned corn (boring!) but the mashed potatoes were buttery and slightly lumpy...just like at home. The real treat with dinner was the homemade dinner rolls that are a meal in itself. They give you apple butter, marionberry (not named after the controversial mayor) jam and peanut butter at the table to put on them. I was in love with all of the options! They even gave me a jar of marionberry jam to take with me! The dessert sample was some of the super yummy apple crisp topped with some whipped cream. I pretty much rolled out of this place with a full belly and newly developed cankles. I thought I might take one of the cinnamon heads home with me, but I was far too full. It isn't the best or worst food but it tastes home cooked and the place has a really warm atmosphere. It caters to truckers and if I were one, I'd make this a regular stop.

If you've driven down I-5 in Oregon, you've seen Heaven on Earth. This restaurant has country home-style favorites waiting for you on this food-drought stretch of interstate. This isn't bland diner food; it's seasoned, cheesy, tasty, buttery happiness. I had the vegetable omelet with potatoes and toast. Everything down to the apple butter was satisfying. And the baked goods are amazing!

Remember all those inspiring Christian favorites that helped to honor our Lord and God? You recall how you sang them in church choir, listened to them as you read from the Bible during Advent, and all throughout your maker-fearing childhood? Just me? OK, moving along then. The first clue should have been the fact that the restaurant is called Heaven on Earth. The second tip-off should have been the fact that the restaurant is not a titty bar. Instead of flesh and pole dances, Heaven on Earth sells baked goods, candles, homemade jams, various to-go food items in their deli (which is closed on Sundays), and of course, CDs of the aforementioned Christian hymns. Did you ever wonder if your life would be enhanced with a slowed down rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In" done entirely by ukeleles? I heard such a thing during my meal at Heaven on Earth, and I can honestly say that this version will make you never hear the song the same way ever again. With crosses on the menus, random statues of angels doing angelic things by fountains, and the warning that Jesus Loves You on the front door, you might surmise that the food will have holy, miraculous properties. God is love and eating is love, which means God = eating, right? Well, maybe if you're starving and don't plan on making any other stops as you trek along the 5. Otherwise, the food probably isn't going to open your eyes to all the love and salvation waiting on the wings of doves and eagles. But it will feed you but good. The portions are hearty, maybe because the cooks know that you'll end up stuffing yourself with beef jerky during your long car ride if they don't get to you first. The baked selections, including free samples of marionberry cobbler and apple crisp, looked great and wholesome after consuming beer and cigarettes non-stop for two days. The server presented everyone at my table with cups of bread pudding with whipped cream after our main courses were taken away. Their God is an awesome God. The stories are true. But He (or She - I have no idea) did not live in the entrees. I didn't expect a diner off the freeway to experiment too much with grilled potatoes and cheese, and for almost eight dollars, I got exactly what I anticipated. Unfortunately, so did the dining companions who ordered turkey club sandwiches, chili, and clam chowder. One point in Heaven on Earth's favor - none of us had to worship any white porcelain bowls after eating the food. And nobody sang "Onward Christian Soldiers" as we exited. You know they would have gotten another star if they had.

I stop here every chance I get when passing through. Convenient off HWY 5. Great basic food in satisfying portions. The Bakery is a must-see: Cinnamon Rolls "as big as your head" fill 7 layer cake boxes. They also have..7-layer cakes, and an amazing selection of Paul Bunyan sized huckleberry pies and cobblers, apple pies and cobblers, Carrot Cakes, gluten free desserts, sugar free deserts and much more. There is always a sample of something on the counter. Even if you don't eat there, stop and get a dessert to go - you won't be disappointed.

Been here a few times. Hoped it would get better but it don't. I have tried different thing... breakfast really is the best here I mean u really can't screw up eggs.. only had "home fries" no hashbrowns. Just huge chunks of partly fried potatoes. The so called famous cinnamon rolls, as they advertise it, are dryed out hard white bread type rolls. Homefries are served with breakfast and lunch. No deep fried food here. The Hamburgers aren't anything to brag about just regular party with lettuce ant tomatoes no special sauce u can cheese or Bacon . My husband loves French food well their meat is over cooked and cut with the grain which makes it tough to bite threw. I've had chicken fried steak there which I love and make at home this steak u can tell is bought already made, the soups are said made from scratch I had turkey noodle with my dinner and it was mostly broth , lacking vegis and most important turkey the noodles were over long fettuccine noodles and way to much in it. The prices for the QUALITY of food is way over priced. Defently highway robbery. The inside itself is old and lifeless. Need a facelift for sure. Floor need repairing. They have bakery products right when u walk in which look amazing but there are no sell by dates on anything. Sorry little weary about buying that stuff. I've only been in the area a few years and I will so be not goin there for food anymore. Just will have to drive further to treat the family for food.

It had been years, and I had thought the place was dead. No sign. Faded building. But seeing cars in the lot, and recalling past pleasant experiences, I stopped by. The food is ok. It seems the prices have doubled, but maybe they just went from high to even higher. And has the place become more overtly religious? Since I never have had one, I ordered a "Country Fried Steak Sandwich", at $10.95. Served with American cheese. The navy bean soup was good. And the pumpkin bread dessert was a pleasant surprise. The waitress was extraordinary in a sea of bland. Pleasant, cute, and fun. The highlight, for sure. If the sandwich had been $7 instead of $11, it would have tasted better. No tax was good, but fell a bit short as a remedy. And those famous huge cinnamon rolls sure looked good. Would be nice for the morning after. But $12.95 seemed out of line for even a very large cinnamon roll. All and all, the place seems in the autumn of its life, and it was a bit sad to see the ravages of time.

Date: June 2007 Who: 3 adults, 2 kids Bill: ~$50 This is a tough one, we went twice in two weeks, once on the way down to California and once on the way back home. Two completely different experiences. On the way down we stopped for a late breakfast and the food was quite good. The kicker was the cinnamon roll. Hot, big, fluffy, gooey, and that's without the melting slab of butter they put on top. My egg dish and all the others were pretty good too. Nothing spectacular but solid. We also enjoyed the bakery. It's half of the restaurant. Fresh cookies, cakes, desserts, etc... Their samples were regular size cookies which is kinda cool, and yummy. On our way out I ordered a dozen cookies to go, 3 of each of the 4 types. I didn't really pay attention but when we got in the car, we realized that they gave us probably 4 dozen cookies at the 1 dozen price. Most of the people in the place were very warm and welcoming. On the way home we stopped by again in the late afternoon for a cinnamon bun snack but it was pretty terrible. Nothing like the one we had before. Service was still great and they also doubled our to-go cookie order again. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and give 4 stars. Best bet may be to go during morning hours. This is also not a cheap place. Most things start right at about $10. Fountain drinks I think are $3. Don't remember what the cookies cost but heck, they were well worth it.

The chicken pot pie and mashed potatoes were good. Their "world famous" cinnamon roll was good, but Cinnabon is way better. It's along I-5, and it's better than going to the fast food restaurants. However, it is a bit pricey, and I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this place. I did love the marionberry jam, and I thought a jar of jam would be a nice gift from Oregon to my friend in California. The prices of items were not displayed (or it was not obvious to me where the prices were listed). I was charged $14.95 for a jar of jam and $5.95 for a cinnamon roll to go. Since I did not expect to pay that much, I felt like I was being ripped off.

with a name like that who could resist? i couldn't, so we stopped on at Heaven On Earth in the middle of a roadtrip move to California. The aesthetic and atmosphere is very country homefront style, and don't go expecting a super elite gourmet experience. Kind of telling that they had a life-size plastic horse standing up behind a fence in the yard, but when it comes to meals this place is all about keeping it real down to earth. I had the grilled cajun chicken dinner - pretty good original cajun spices - not from a mix or something they bought in bulk. We picked up some of the pastries to go since they said they were famous for their cinnamon buns, but they weren't hot fresh out of the oven - just an ok snack.

The staff was super nice and insanely attentive! Now, the burger outstanding! I had the special mushroom and Swiss and it was fab! The place feels like being at home or at least someone's grandma home! Lol! Yes, I'm referring to the decor ---it feels like grandma crossed with a cabin decor! Loved it because the food was spot on! It felt like going to grandmas which is perfection! ;) The bake goods are fab!!! They are a must try! I've never seen a cinnamon roll this large!

Don't let the old shabby homey decor fool you. You may be stepping in to your grandma's house by the look of things but like grandma's house you will leave fat and happy. Food was much better than expected. Cinnamon rolls were the size of a small baby. No complaints on the food. Our server was a very nice gentleman. I felt sorry for him as he seemed to be the only waiter. Our party of 15 really kept him busy. I would recommend as long as you enjoy good food from grandma's house at a slower pace.

My friend and stopped here for lunch and to pick up some cinnamon roles. The service was very slow--but it was Sunday so we didn't think much of it. When we got to the front to pay we waited a very long time just to pay our ticket as the waitress/cashier packaged pies and another server came and went without even looking our way. The kicker-this morning when I checked my credit card statement my charge is $9 more than it was that day....I specifically wrote "cash" and left a nice tip on the table. I've tried to call but no answer so far during operating hours. It may be only $9 but it's not a good feeling when your card is overcharged. Btw, the large cinnamon role was very doughy and my French dip wasn't good. Normally the cinnamon roles are very good--but I think sticking to the smaller roles is key.

Driving on a long distance car trip? Tired of eating icky fast food? Craving food that tastes home cooked...? This is the spot to go: #heavenonearth #homeofthefamouscinnamonrolls #restaurant #Oregon I had the triple layer BLT w/cup of pot pie stew, sooooo good. Tasted like mom made it. Seriously yummy. A very good find for folks traveling down I-5. Everyone was very friendly. We got welcome strawberries when we first sat down. Our meal was excellent. The service was great. The bakery has lots of free samples. We bought a big cinnamon roll to make French toast with tomorrow. This will go on our must stop when we are traveling in this part of the country.

We have bought a few cinnamon rolls here, but the last one was stale. We were back in area and stopped to let them know. The Five-Star rating is for the Baked Goods only. This is why it's named "Heaven-on-Earth". There are literally TABLES laden with baked goods, pies, cakes, cookies, sheets of cobblers. A visual feast for the eyes and after tasting - for the tummy. The Cinnamon Rolls are as big as my head - no joke. As the owner suggested you can slice them up for French Toast. This will be a regular stop off the I-5 when we are traveling North to Seattle. Thanks!

Ok so to all the negative reviews on the restaurant. This place is known for big fat delicious cinimon rolls. They also have pies and snicker doodle cookies. I can care less about roast beef sandwiches. I came for the healthy cinimon rolls. Staff were some of the most polite people I've met. Want a 5 star seven coarse dinner? San Francisco is just south 7 hours. Want a huge 7 X 6 X 5 1/2" cinimon roll? Stop here!

Amazing restaurant!! Nice place!!! And most importantly, great food and great customer service. I stopped here on my way to Seattle, WA and I also found this restaurant on Yelp! It is truly heaven on earth like its name! And to top it off, I got free cinnamon roll and chocolate chip cookie which is the best cookie I have ever had! When I got into my car to leave I decided to go back and buy more cookies to eat on my way! Everyone should really come to this place :) I highly recommend

Hadn't been here in 15 years yet the cinnamon rolls are just as good now as they were then! My family and I ate at the restaurant too, the meatloaf is delicious, not something I would normally order, it did not disappoint. Service was awesome too, friendly, caring server and some down home cooking. Something California's lacking!

Good food, attentive but not cheerful service, amazing bakery goods, high prices. Driving north on I-5, I saw the gas station market and thought "no way am I eating there." Then just past the exit I saw the restaurant. Fortunately the next exit was just a mile away so I returned. I had a generous, tasty patty melt, generous mug of strawberry lemonade, and mediocre clam chowder. I picked out cinnamon and pecan rolls to take with me and a piece of carrot cake. After 2 weeks on the road, I slept in this morning until I remembered, "I can have that cinnamon roll for breakfast!" It was not a disappointment warmed with a little butter. They definitely excel at baking. The prices would help me eat there only occasionally though.

Amazed by the kindness and deliciousness we encounter by Christine and the lovely ladies at Heaven on Earth. A quick bathroom and coffee stop turned into a lifetime commitment to stop here on any 1-5 journey. These gals treat you right and the cinnamon rolls are unreal.

The one good thing I can say is that the hot turkey sandwich was made with real turkey. That said, the potatoes & gravy gave me the worst indigestion ever. My friend's grilled cheese sandwich cost $10. Service was awful; food was barely mediocre. The absolute kicker was being told when we arrived that the bathrooms were out of order & we could go to the gas station (which was 1/2 mile away & their "facility" was a portapotty). Discovered before we left that it was only the women's bathroom that was out of order; the men's was working just fine, esp. for the women whose servers told them about it. Would never stop there again.

Disappointing. The reviews indicated it would be better. The bacon was over cooked, the eggs were undercooked, and the prices were too high. The chicken-pot-pie-soup was good, the meatloaf was good, but overpriced. There were FLIES everywhere! The seated everyone is the sparse meeting room rather than the cozy area. I think this has definitely seen better days.

I am heavy hearted to leave this review...it has become a family tradition to stop here when traveling between California and Washington. I have always found the prices to be a bit high but was willing to pay them on the few occasions I could make a stop here. This most recent experience has most likely ended my tradition of stopping here. First, mostly everyone working seemed to be new and there seemed to be no manager I could speak with when I did inquire. I was asked to seat myself, which wouldn't have bothered me except they were hesitant to let me sit in the main dining room...I think because I was solo. Then when I asked to sub pancakes for the home fries and toast, as I always do, the waitress told me I'd be charged extra...what in fact happened is they charged me for a side of pancakes which is 2...I got 1. And they charged me full price for the meal on which I got none of the sides. I ended up paying $16...way too much for what I ordered. Extremely disappointed and everyone was so new they didn't even know the policy on substitutions. :-( Not to mention....the food just wasn't as tasty. The new staff seemed sweet and nice.

Always one of my favorites when headed North or returning. Not very good service but the food is good. I almost always have endless soups and the chicken pot pie soup has got to be the best. The clam chowder is just ok and the chilli would be better served with corn bread, but it is ok also.

If you want the best cinnamon rolls of your life, come here. It literally is a mouth orgasm and that is all I'm going to say about that. Awesome staff too!

I had passed this place on numerous occasions and decided to stop. The first thing one notices upon entering the swarms of flies all over the place, and on the sweet rolls, etc. We sat in a "dining" room which looked like a gutted living room; a swarm of lies there too! The roast beef sandwich I had was awful. The beef tasted like it had been re-warmed from the fridge several times. It was on cheap white bread with canned or packaged ( probably) gravy. The veggies were room temperature and the potatoes were a spittin' image of boxed potato flakes. The family all had awful food as well. I told some staff about the old-refrigerator-tasting beef, then went to the register to pay. My wife overheard the staff laughing and making comments about my "heads up" to the staff. It was as if they could have cared less. How they stay open is one of life's great mysteries.

We mostly stopped for a cold drink, the bath room, and a chance to stretch and recover from the tension of the drive through 90 miles of wildfire smoke. What we found was a place with only 2 customers at 11:30 am, and a wide table-filled "store" at the entrance with both covered and uncovered cakes, pastries, cookies, jars of apple butter, cinnamon rolls and pies. And icing. Lots of icing. The server was very nice. Eager to help us find something good, and was kind enough to offer us cookie samples "for the road." We left with a drink each, a serving of pumpkin bread pudding in a plastic box, and a marionberry turnover made from an entire pie crust. Both were verrrry sweet, and the crust of the turnover was dense and chewy like a yeast dough rather than flaky pie crust, choux, or even filo. We didn't get any of the "big as your head" cinnamon rolls because they looked like way too much bread and icing for me. And I'm just not that wild for icing. Whoever has the sugar concession here must be very happy. I was really glad this place is there -- in the middle of a long, lonesome stretch of I-5. I was glad to be able to stand up and walk around for a minute after all that smoke-filled driving. But I doubt we'll be going back. Stores put what they think is there best stuff out front so anybody that comes in sees their "best foot forward;" and it's just not a product I'm looking for.

Our out of the oven rolls must have been out of microwave as in just minutes they were hard as rocks. Soup was more like flour-paste. Was sorry for we were looking for a good meal. Disappointed that the answer to our message was "oh".

My boyfriend and I split a burger - it was good. The servers were very eager to give us coffee - so much that we actually had to stop them. I just can't drink that much coffee! Very nice people, very attentive. Nothing mind-blowing here, but good service, decent food.

Wow. What a great restaurant. The food is amazing. The cinnabuns are crazy good. Attentive wait staff and a great atmosphere. My favorite Oregon restaurant.

I stopped here when passing through on a motorcycle trip. Actually, I missed it the first time I tried to stop, as I was headed north and though there's a sign, the restaurant is off the exit just a bit, and I didn't see it the first time until I was back on the on-ramp. I usually don't favor places this close to the interstate, but it had a certain attraction, so I went back. I'm glad I did. This place has lots of parking for trucks and RV's or groups. The building is log-cabin style, and could use some love. Getting a bit worn down around the edges. But it is clean and cozy, and you feel welcome. When you go in, you are met with the most amazing array of baked goods, deserts, cakes, and of course the famous rolls which are about the size of a small pumpkin. There was a group of HS kids traveling to Ashland to catch some Shakespeare, and they were all being dealt with as a group. The service kept up with them, and managed to keep up with the rest of the clientele as well. I'm guessing the owner was a part of the wait staff, and she was on top of everyone's satisfaction. I had a meal that was like going home to momma. Meatloaf, veggies, mashed potatos/gravy, cranberry sauce, salad, homemade rolls. The food was genuinely prepared, and while it could have been mediocre it was just great. Real meatloaf, well prepared. Real homemade rolls. OK, not a very interesting menu choice, but one that would be so easy to do wrong, and it was done very well. Free apple crisp bites, and if you are on a m/c or driving a semi, you get a dessert for the road on the house. The owner lady was very nice and hospitable. The prices were reasonable. Exit 86. Remember it.

Delicious home cooked goodness and great customer service. The biscuits and cinnamon rolls are amazing! And the cookie samples were so cute and tasty! This place is my new favorite. It really is a little bit of heaven on earth!

I'm a long haul driver that has stopped here a lot over the last 10 years of driving. I do not mind paying for a great meal however $7 for a small rock hard stale caramel pecan cinnamon roll is not my idea of a good meal . Unfortunately this is the second time I haven't been very happy when leaving here and I don't think I will be returning. The prices do not reflect the quality that's for sure.

From the outside it didn't look like much but when we walked in we were amazed. When you open the door you are immediately greeted by all of the wonderful freshly baked pies, cinnamon rolls, cookies and cobblers located in the bakery. Walk past the bakery and you enter the dinning room which is wonderfully rustic and super clean. They had a fireplace in the corner which added to the rustic charm. The service was great and the food was served promptly. The food was solidly good and you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner any time. At the end of our meal we were given a free sample of their pineapple upside down cake! What a surprise! It was a large sample - one for each of us. We were already full but we couldn't help eating it all. The cake was fantastic! Had we been on our way home we would have purchased one for us and all our friends. Next time we are in the area we will definitely stop here again.

This place used to be worth the stop! The baked goods look better than what they taste like. My Granny bakes and sells baked goods and hers are way better. The stuff here had no flavor. I was thinking yay that looks home made, and will taste like Granny's! But nope! Huge disappointment! And also I was upset while ordering my food! I don't eat very much so I asked if I could possibly order a certain meal off of the kids so it wasn't so big. Then they told me I couldn't have the bacon! I'm not trying to be cheap, it's just I'm not trying to waste the food! Some people don't enjoy engorging themselves! I have been here many times through the years and the food used to be good, but it seems like it has gone down hill! And this last time was the last straw! My food was cold, and the baked goods like I said were flavorless!!! I put the marionberry jelly on my biscuit and it was sour! Have you heard of sugar? Just gross!!!

Damn good biscuits and cinnamon buns. But you really can't go wrong with anything you order. And don't forget to try the apple butter. I bet you would leave without getting a jar for home if it even makes the drive home. Yeah it's that good.

I've never been more disappointed or underwhelmed with a meal. I ordered a BLT with fries and a hot dog with fries for my son. An $11 BLT consisted of dry wonder bread, two slices of cardboard bacon, iceberg lettuce and two slices of tomato. It had an extra slice of bread in the middle as if the sandwich needed to be drier. The "French fries" were home fries and only decent. The hot dog cost about $8 and was equally awful. Just a plain hotdog and bun- nothing special, again served with home fries (wtf). I would never, ever stop here again.

What happened? The photos and pictures looked great. Why was my meal such a looser? The serving staff were excellent. Defently 5 stars. The salad was only ice berg lettuce with a few small tomatoes. For dinner I had the turkey dinner. The "feshly baked" turkey peices were small and dried out. Gravy and potatoes were so-so. The corn was even worse. After sitting in a pot all day, this canned corn was turning brown. Isn't corn yellow? Now desert. I had the Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Let's see. The topping should be carmalized. It was a simple yellow cake mix with pinaples on top and covered in a yellow flavored jelly like pour over. Sad. This cake is so easy to make correctly. I had one of their cinnamon rolls. It was large and it had a fair flavor, but is was sorely lacking in cinnamon and other quality ingredients. Now for the price. I had the same dinner at Black Bear Dinner. It was about $4 cheaper with a much better salad and fresh, that's freshly steamed vegetables. The pictures of my salad and dinner are added for comparison. As for the building. Wow, a beautiful structure with so much character. Too bad the owner is just letting it run down until she dies or goes into a nursing home. A lot of work went into building this stop. It needs an infusion of someone who cares.

I love this place but they were out of everything and that sucks. Don't be out of everything
