Good food. I got the chili steak. Wow, it was fabulous. We came here thinking it would be an average steakhouse then looked at the money and gawked at the prices; thought we were under dressed. Turns out, so was half the restaurant.

My family and I were in town for the weekend and ate here on Saturday night. We had to wait an hour for a table and it was worth it. I had the pumpkin seed chicken and loved it! My husband ordered the peppered steak and it was cooked to order and flavorful. The salad bar is small but still enough and they have lots of appetizers to choose from. We had the shrimp cocktail and it was perfect! We will eat here again when in Woodward.

I ordered their finest steak: The "king cut" 20oz prime rib for $30. I hadn't eaten all day and it was about 5pm so I was ready to tear into this meat festival. I certainly got $30 worth of meat, but I got about $8 worth of flavor. The steak was true to it's weight, but wasn't seasoned in the least. Not even the outside of the prime rib (the part accessible during the entire cooking process). I had to heavily salt each piece i cut, then slather it with horseradish that tasted like it was made with miracle whip, and au jus which was fortified with liquid smoke. The fake smoke taste really wrecked what could otherwise have been enjoyed as a passable au jus. My green beans weren't special or even adequate, the sad little salad bar in the corner of the restaurant has a house dressing mixed with shredded cheddar cheese (for a weird, lumpy creation). If I closed my eyes really tight, used enough salt, and remembered how I hadn't eaten all day long, I could almost taste a mirage of flavor. This place is a little confused, and still trying to figure out if it's the kind of restaurant that can charge $30 for a steak, or the kind where kids eat free and you bring a coupon. Unfortunately I got the short end of both sticks.

If you're in Woodward (or nearly anywhere for that matter), this is the premiere steakhouse. Their specials each night are always queen-cut prime rib (the best prime rib I've ever had) and a side of seafood. You also get a caesar salad or salad bar (go for the salad bar!). The food is just absolutely fantastic! The servers are always friendly and prompt, and the atmosphere feels very upscale. They use linen tablecloths and napkins and have soft music playing in the background if that gives you a feel for the ambiance. JB's is perfect for an intimate meal, date, or even a group if you call ahead! If you're from out of town visiting, this is the place you must try!
