Here's the skinny: Big Dan's is a phenomenal small town steakhouse with a great buffet, and out of this world salad bar. Their food is consistently fresh, hot, and fresh. Their staff is always kind, prompt, and friendly. Their salad bar, which is the center-piece of the restaurant, is the largest salad bar I've ever seen. It's a must have when you visit. As for my meal, they make an insane chicken fry that not only huge, but tender and full of flavor. Pair that with their country gravy, sweet tea, and fried mushrooms or green beans, and you have a meal worthy of each and every one of those 5 stars I've presented. Dan and Caryl run an incredible restaurant here. One of my hometown favorites.

This was a great place to stop for dinner. The steak was good - tasty and well sized. But the salad bar is what won my heart. It had all the fresh veggies that you could want on a salad bar. But the prepared salads were great - home made not Sysco! There was a vinegary potato salad. Some great pickled veggies. The soup on the salad bar that night was clam chowder. I almost didn't try it because it is usually out of a can at restaurants - especially those far from the coast. But the waitress was so enthusiastic about it, I decided to try it. It was great. It was the creamy style, but was still brothy and not thick. Nice clams, nice potatoes, nice flavor. The home cooked pinto beans were well flavored and were indeed home cooked. My only negative was the cornbread - served as muffins rather than bread. Seemed dry and uninteresting. Good service and friendly folks. And as a traveler - I appreciated that the meal was served quickly - though you were never rushed.

I was brought here by a coworker. We were seated immediately by a very friendly waitress. I walked past the salad bar without looking and sat down. The waitress took our order for our drinks, brought them back immediately and then she took our food order. I ordered medium prime rib with a side and chose to get the salad bar with it. I went up to get my salad and realize I should have just gotten the salad bar. It has been a long time since I've seen that's a large selection in a small town like this! I was impressed everything was very fresh. Since we ordered medium rare steaks they were back to our table within 15 minutes. I could tell immediately that my steak was going to be very tender! I however did not realize how amazing it would taste... OMG!!! I guarantee that I will be back to this restaurant if I am ever back through this town.

I've eaten here before and once again the service was very friendly and attentive. Salad bar is very good. Had the filet and although it was slightly undercooked to my order it was delicious. Didn't have any sides. Sweet tea was just right. Moderately priced.

Saw that the place was crowded so we decided to stop in. Steamed veggies were nothing special, but the teriyaki chicken was excellent. Country decor, very much a hometown feel. Employees were friendly and seemed to be having a good time.

The ribeye was good, and the salad bar was fair. The real disappointing things were the sides - the fried okra and fried onion rings were frozen, heavily breaded, out of a bag. Not good.

Simply this is the best steak in north west Okla. They have a daily hot bar special & crab legs and shrimp & fish on Friday. Dan and his wife are always usually around ,and are always mingling with the patrons of the steak house , for the best price and best tasting steak go see Dan. Family friendly.

We were looking for a good place to eat after our tour of the alabaster caverns. We decided to give Big Dans a try. The salad bar wasn't half bad. But I would stop at that. We ordered the ribs and hamburger steak. The ribs were slathered in a not so good bbq sauce with a side of fly. Yes, a fly was stuck to the ribs. We notified the owner. He brought out another slab of ribs. They tasted like they had been frozen and reheated. The hamburger steak tasted the same way. We didn't have to pay for the ribs due to the side of fly. I give one star because of the salad bar.

In Woodward on a business trip, K Bob's is across the street. I decided on Dans, service was great and salad bar good as well. I ordered the rib eye, when it. Ce out it looked great, but that was the most tuff piece of meet I ever tried to eat. Maybe should have went to K Bob.

My flight crew stopped in Woodward for an unscheduled overnight this week and ended up eating here for dinner. I'm on a budget, so I ate their smallest sirloin with the salad bar option. The salad bar was good quality and had a nice, wide variety and everything I put in my plate tasted fresh and good. The sirloin was cooked as I ordered it and was good as well. The waitresses were friendly and helpful. I'd go back to this restaurant if I was in Woodward again.

I stopped in Woodward during a business trip and decided to enjoy my company's generous expense policy by treating myself to a 16oz Ribeye for $26. My trip to the salad bar was your typical Ryan's/Golden Corral fare (not a good sign). When my steak came, I hadn't eaten all day and was ready to really tear into it! Unfortunately my steak was too disgusting to finish. I have eaten tough steaks, fatty steaks, undercoooked, overcooked, and still finished my plate. But something tasted very "off" here. My best bet is it was cooked on part of the grill that had a few burnt areas from previous food. The entire steak had a very strange aftertaste that ruined my meal. Generous steak sauce helped a little, but I couldn't finish the thing and really felt like I wasted $26 that I didn't even have to pay myself! The bathrooms were filthy and smelled horrible, too. My general assumption is if a restaurant doesn't even keep it's public places clean (like the restroom) you can expect the kitchen to be even worse off. I would take a chain fast food restaurant like taco bell over this place every time. I had their biggest and best menu item and it wasn't worth the tip to the waitress. Big Dan's should be ashamed of itself for swindling the locals just because they don't have many options for dining.

Stopped in because the place was packed and my family loves a good steak. Ordered the sirloin and my husband ordered the New York strip and we were pretty disappointed. The steaks tasted extremely under seasoned, as in nothing at all. I had to salt it myself and eat it with A1, and that's a big 'no-no' for me. Salad bar was great, and service was decent, which is why I gave them 2 stars. All in all after we finished it wasn't worth the $$.

Went to dinner with my boss one night last week while in town for work. The service was good, the salad wagon was as expected, and since I save my bad calories for booze I made a huge salad and ordered a small ribeye, medium. It was cooked perfectly. Delicious, and I probably could have cut it with a fork. I watched my boss take down a filet, home fries, and a loaf of bread. That clown runs marathons so he can eat all those carbs. And since I was with him, I drank water. Had to sneak out to the liquor store later to stock the room fridge.

Great friendly service. Had the most popular steak, salad bar and soup for $20. Salad bar was good. I was surprised that they had jicama slices which gave me fond memories of growing up. Meat was a little tough and I ordered med-rare. Overall I enjoyed the experience and will definitely go back when I'm in town.

I never get tired of Dans. I always get their most popular steak with fries. Fried mushrooms and the salad bar. It's excellent. Service is great!
