The chili is very good. The menu is decent. Chicken strips are very tasty. The burgers, avoid those.. They're frozen patties severely undercooked. The prices are high, esp since drinks aren't included. Kids eat free daily. Two people eating a modest lunch of two burgers will run you $25. The place is dirty and needs updating. The bathroom was horrendous. Our server ignored our kid completely when it came to drinks or ordering. Not very kid or budget friendly.

My last visit my chili and spaghetti triple was ice cold, and small. If you order a triple it's because you are hungry ! Price of food has gone WAY up. And quality/quantity of food and quality of service has gone down. Which is very sad ikes was MY go to place, i was a WEEKLY customer. My family has eaten there forever, in fact I'm the 4th out of 5 generations of my family that has enjoyed ikes chili over the years. The chili used to taste way better and the employees were the sweetest around. Sadly after the move from admiral the quality of food has been on a steady decline and then different employees that don't care about the customers and that was too much for me. I'm to the point now where I don't know if I want to go back. I have been an ikes customer for 25 years and it is very sad to see that my favorite place in tulsa has changed so much.

There is parking and an entry in the rear. They have 4 or the buildings, starting at the corner. The first is the kitchen, one is the counter and stool area with the cash register and two are dining areas. On entering, it is very light with nice tables and booths. There are historic pictures of Tulsa on the walls and a cheerful atmosphere. People very nice. They have specials, but I got the Hickory Burger minus mayo and my husband got 3 way chili. My patty was a little overcooked, but tasty and very filling. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned waffle fries, delicious and hot. My husband was beyond disappointed with the chili. I agree it was luke warm and bland. The texture was not like real meat, very unpleasant feeling in the mouth. My husband added there was an taste he couldn't identify and it was watery, I didn't agree with those two observations, but he is a chili expert. I have only been eating chili for about 5 years. I wanted to love this place, but I will go to Bill and Ruth's for chili and here for Hickory Burgers. They have a varied menu, please do give them a try. I like supporting small local independent business.

Same as it ever was! A new location yet still the great chili that Tulsa has grown to love over the years. Have you ever awoke in the middle of the night and had a craving for a great flavorful dish, and when you awake in the morning it's still there? Ike's is like that, once you get the itch for a bowl or a big serving of 3-way it's not going to stop till you've landed there for lunch!

Went in for a late lunch today on a cold January Monday. Took a seat at a window high top. My table wobbled severely; as I looked down there were already previous attempts to jam a wad of napkins under one of the legs. I tried to also place the only thing handy more napkins. My chair also wobbled so I wrote it off. Waitress came over and acknowledged that the table was messed up and took my order (3 way double). While I was sitting there I noticed how un-professional this place is...employees eating behind counter, owner playing on his cell phone and how dirty the small place is. Chili house...I get it...this is not a fine dining establishment but come on! CLEAN YOUR PLACE! Especially if you are sitting around doing nothing! Crackers are a staple at a chili parlor...I am confused as to why there would be stale cracker due to the business this place does;also why rant they all the same brand? This place could double it's market share by two simple things: clean the restaurant and supply fresh saltines. Also wipe down the chairs, stools and table legs then clean the floor.

Ike's is open in the new location. Interesting connection on old Route 66 for a Classic Tulsa chili parlor.

I go to Ike's maybe once or twice a month. It's a Tulsa icon which fairly recently moved to the new 11th Street (Route 66) location. They have daily lunch specials for $5.99 (frito pie and a drink, frito burrito and a drink, etc.) which is pretty good. I usually also get a side of their cole slaw. They have burgers and fries, which I haven't tried yet. The staff seem friendly enough, though some are less friendly than others. The seating is adequate though a pet peeve of mine is that the table tops are too high and it's a little awkward to eat at (even the bar counter) and I'm 5'9" tall. The chili's good and comes with little containers of cheese and onions. If you're really hungry, you'd be better off going to El Rancho Grande (another Tulsa icon) which is a very short distance to the east of Ike's.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
