From reading the reviews, it looks like I'm the only one who found the really good stuff on the menu! ;) This place has some of the best tabouli in town as well as really good hummus and cabbage rolls. I've gone by this place for over 15 years and never stopped in until a few months ago. I wish I would have found it sooner. The signage is all about gyro's, so I wasn't much interested. I didn't know about these other gems. The tabouli is made fresh in-house and has lots of parsley, freshly chopped tomatoes and cucumber. The cabbage rolls are basic -- but delicious. They're covered in a very basic tomato sauce. No special spices that I could detect -- but it doesn't need it. Great just the way it is.

One of the best burgers I've ever had in my life! I think if I added bacon to the Hickory Cheddar Cheese Burger, I would've rated this 6 stars. 4 stars is still good for what I got. I ordered the curly fries but I got the regular fries but it's all good. The burger melts in your mouth. You literally taste the cheddar cheese & hickory sauce in every bite. I didn't want to stop eating it. I should've added bacon & pickles to make it over the top. The two workers were super duper nice & welcoming. The lady was precise, made should everything was correct (outside of stating that I got regular fries instead of curly fries) & was very generous. The man who was cooking (possibly the manager/owner) was super nice too. A few people knew him when they came in to order so I could tell that they were regulars. They have more than burgers, they have subs, gyros, sweets, etc. Lots to choice from. Their menu reminds me of Bill & Ruth's, I don't know if they're under the same umbrella but that caught my eye.

It's out of our way but my husband knows if he wants a happy wife all he has to do is bring me a steak and cheese "sub". It's huge so I can never eat it all but it's just as good heated up. (Rare!) The owner is friendly and always there cooking. Great food and not cheap with the meat and sides. Definitely not a chain like Quiznos or Subway. Worth a try because you'll love it. Just try to avoid it around lunchtime on the weekdays. It's packed!

They have good food but the customer service needs work. Come in oder hamburger and drink forgot to oder french fries come to $7.00 not a big thing go back up and oder the French fries right.... No. Being that I'm paying by card the oder has to be over $5.00. Aside of me just dropping $7.00 for lunch and wanting the fries I for got have spen up to $5.00

Really impressive selection at a GREAT place to eat. Even some excellent vegetarian options, like the three-cheese and avocado sandwich. Add some jalapeños for a nice kick!

People are being far too generous on here. This place is nothing special and extremely overpriced. I went with the hero sandwich and fries with a drink. It wasn't even very good. Let me tell you that I like to eat and I ended up throwing half of it away. The worst thing was that I think it cost me like twelve dollars. Sadly I would have been better off going down the street to Subway. This is a place that I really wanted to like more than I did and I will say that the guys working there were very friendly, but the food has to be better for me to come back.

I can come here a lot. I want to come here a lot. But there's other types of food in the world and I might turn loopy with just eating this awesome gyro they serve here everyday of my life. I need to sample more of their menu before passing full judgement on the establishment but I love this gyro so I guess there's no need. The gyro was full of flavor and dripping with sauce. It might be a little messy but that's why God invented napkins. I get the gyro, fries and a drink combo. The size of the gyro and drink are normal but the fries are quite big, that's why God invented tomatoes to make ketchup.

Went in on a lunch hour with a short amount of time.. .Figured a gyro wouldn't take too long to make.... NAH.... Came out 20 minutes later, as I even ordered chips so to not have to wait on fries... Came out cold, and the tatziki sauce was really not a sauce, but more like a watered down choice of green goddess dressing.. Won't be returning unfortunately as it is close to houses that I have to go by on a regular basis...

Food is good but price is steep. I purchased a swiss burger, tots and a 20 oz drink... and it rang up over $10. I get this quality of food, often for under $7, so it does seem pretty expensive for simple fare. All told, I'd still eat there for a special occasion.

Large selection of subs, salads and others. Not a lot of description on subs that aren't obvious like the easterner or belly buster so be prepared to play 20 questions but obviously the locals get it. Belly Buster made with pretty bland meats plus a ton of grated cheese, kind of odd. Breads are super fresh and the kid behind the counter was really nice and accommodating. Sub was so very average tasting if it weren't for the amazingly fresh bread it would be a 1 star experience. Now the Gyro, super tastes and the pita like the other bread as awesome, light on the tziziki sauce but I could turn that up next time. The gyro is the hero of Hero's! The sub issue could be choice on my part. Refills on drinks are .25 maybe a sign of bygone era! Stick to the Gyro next time!

Hero's restaurant is what makes Tulsa special. The owner, Sam, is an amazing chef and wonderful person. He takes pride in his restaurant and prepares the food himself and interacts with everyone who comes in. The menu is huge and everything is made fresh. Whether you're trying the Gyros, fried okra or baklava - you're in for a special treat. If you've never been, you're missing out!
