I love, nay adore a good burger. Harden's is the type of place that reminds you that Tulsa is along Route 66. Americana...AUTHENTIC Americana on every wall. This isn't Fuddruckers. The Missus and I went here tonight because we happened to be "in that part of town." You know. The area where dives and old machine shops are peppered in with neighborhoods with houses that only have a one car garage. That part. Well, we were on our way back from Fantasy Furniture(don't let the name fool you...it ain't no fantasy), and I noticed this place decked out in neon signs and said, "Hey, let's have dinner." Maranda at first protested, but after I told her how much I wanted to find "authentic" Tulsa joints to review, she caved in. Thanks, rush hour traffic. So we walk in, and it's somewhat claustrophobic. They have half the dining area chained off with a "NO TRESPASSING" sign. I fell in love with this place almost immediately. And I knew the food was going to be good before I even tasted the grease from the kitchen air. The tip off was that almost every available booth was filled with gray-haired pimps and grannies. Obviously, since the sign said so, I'm sure some of them met each other here when the doors opened in 1939. It looked as if this might have been a drive-in back in the day. As teens, some of them probably cruised Sheridan Rd. in their rat rods and gassers. No doubt some racing went on, since Sheridan is literally straight as an arrow for miles. Anyway, I may be romancing this place a little based on it's clientele and decor, but any further proof I need to say this is one of the best places in Tulsa to get a burger was when I saw the menu. They had two options: Men's burgers and Girl's burgers. Perfect. I got a double manburger with cheese. And while it lacked the panache of a certain burger joint known as Smashburger, it still had a flavor that punched you in the mouth. Cooked to perfection and slapped almost haphazardly on a well dressed bun. Maranda opted for the chicken dinner, which came with real Mashed Potatoes and country gravy. All in all, this is a place I'll definitely revisit. On thursdays, they offer Steak Fingers. I don't know what a steak finger is, but I'm willing to bet it'll be awesome. If there's anything wrong with this place, it's that it served canned green beans as a side dish. Canned green beans are more evil than pickles. You won't break the bank, and if you're into authenticity and a little American charm, you'll leave Harden's fat and happy.

We came here because I had a Groupon. Paid $7 for two cheeseburgers, two small fries, and two large sodas. Coupon was expired so I ordered the same thing and paid $11 after the $7 was taken off. Ok not too bad but the burger was terrible. I only ate part of mine and my daughter who eats anything only ate a few bites of hers. The curly fries were very good however. The staff was not overly friendly, the place was smokey, and the door to the outside eating area was locked. They unlocked it for us and we enjoyed the patio.

This burger was delicious. Very well priced. I ordered the 1/4 pound with cheese and tatter tots. This was probably one of the most flavorful burgers I have had this year. Very clean restaurant. The service was fast as well. I will be going back!

This has had the best burgers since I started going here in high school for lunch. Over twenty years later every time I return to Tulsa I have to plan a trip here for a burger. I have all my friends addicted as well. They always ask me if I'm heading to Harden's when I'm in town! Soooo good!

For a local burger joint this is a good place to go, just not on a hot day as the A/C does not compensate for these treacherously hot Tulsa summers. The burger and fries are good: decent amount of meat and cheese, and crispy fries. The onion rings are mediocre. It's a decent value and you can get beer here too so that's a plus. Recommended for those looking for that comfort food known as the great American cheeseburger: family friendly.

I had a heck of a time finding it, although it's been around forever. If I recall correctly, it used to be a fried chicken place that my father (who was INSANE about fried chicken) used to go when I was a child. I made two wrong turns before I found it. There aren't any signs on the street that tell you it's there, so look to the West once you get to 4th and Sheridan. It's a simple place, embracing its age with memorabilia. And it's fitting, because this is an old-school burger place. I had a 1/4 pound burger, which came dressed with mustard, pickles and onions. I normally will put anything available on my burger except cheese, but I always go with what an establishment calls "the right way" to do something, at least the first time I'm there. The burger is awesome. Fresh ground beef with a pronounced seasoning I've found lacking in other places. It's not quite spicy, but you know something is there, and the limited toppings let the meat be the star of the show. There's also a little grease on the buns, which rolls obligingly down your arm as you eat it. Because that's what should happen when you eat a burger. The "curly q's" seemed to be frozen, and not made in-house, so it's no comparison to Ty's. They're good frozen fries, but they're still frozen fries, and nothing beats a potato cut the day you get there. The folks were friendly, and they seem genuinely happy to get your business, which is all too rare these days. I'm glad I finally made it over there!

So I recently recieved a $25 gift card to that place, I figured Saturday afternoon would be a good time to try it out. Upon ordering I presented my gift card to the cashier, she looked at me with a really nasty look and said, we don't except these anymore, and thew it in the nearby trash. There was NO EXPIRATION date on it, nor did it have any restrictions on what to order. Feeling bad for placing an order I went ahead and paid for the 2 hamburgers with fries and cokes ($21) I brought it to the attention of my friend whom I've received the gift card from, and she told me that she paid $25 for it, even presented me with a receipt. The attitude from a cashier was over the top. I never expected to be treated this way. I DEFINITELY won't be back! Save your money, there is plenty of better places that provide a service worth paying for!

This burger joint is fully decorated with lots of fun retro signs and memorabilia on Sheridan. However, the food was subpar, the burger having a very strange after taste and not very good... I did like the curly fries though. They advertise shakes but did not have one. Their website has coupons and you can find them in local papers but now I know why. Nope, wont be back.

The atmosphere was nice. The place is very decorative. The service was okay, they weren't rude but were not friendly either. (I expected a little more since they were not busy). My friend ordered the chilli cheese fries (greasy and mediocre). I got the Girl-cheeseburger deluxe (ltp) combo (burger & fries only). The food was hot, but the proportions were rather small. I could probably estimate that I had about 10 fries or less on my plate, which happen to be the best part of my combo deal. The burger was mediocre at best; not very flavorful and I could tell that it was made from a frozen patty. For $6.53, I don't think I got a good deal. I will not be returning.

Way to greasy. They were out of onion rings, out of large cups, someone had clearly been smoking in the restroom I definitely won't be back.

Loved everything about his place except that it closes too early at 7:30 PM, Old-fashioned style hamburgers and the like. The curly fries are almost to die for and in very generous portions. Staff who look and talk to you like you're a human being. When you first drive up near or after dark you think it might be closed because they don't have great lighting outside. There are $2.99 coupons for hamburger w/curly fries in the Tulsa World every week. Also known for root beer floats.

This is one I those greasy spoons that still make a burger the ole fashion way. The burger is always cooked with a pink center unless you say otherwise. The single cheese burger is a good selection and packed with flavor. If you are feeling adventurous they have a B.O.B. burger thats gonna run $7.00 and is stacked with four juicy patties. The Hardens burger has been top seat on my burger list for awhile now!
