Set back off the road, one could overlook the non-descript metal building that is Freddie's. Yet once inside you are reminded of an old fashion burger stand of the 50's. The sizzle of hand formed burger patties cooking on the flat top grill accompany the fragrance given off. Sliding onto a bar stool or having a seat at a table, you'll be able to see your order as it is made fresh. Freddie's is happy to make your burger as you like it; I enjoy a double with jalapenos added. It's served hot, considering it still has fat sizzling on it when it's placed in front of you. A piping hot order french fries also still steaming hot from the fryer with your burger is a meal that "sticks to your ribs and keeps your belly full". Stop in and enjoy how burgers and fries are meant to be!

Freddie's has an ok burger. It's pretty standard greasy-spoon burger. I have been here several times and I'd go back but it is somewhere I only want on rare occasion. It has very limited seating so often times you have to wait for a table to open up. Parking is extremely limited as well.

Freddie's is the fourth among several old greasy-spoon burger joints I've paid a visit to recently. It's a compact place, with a lot of customers paying it a visit during the lunch hour. I had to stand around for about 15 minutes after entering and ordering before anyplace opened up for me to sit. The front part of the restaurant has a row of stools all facing the grill/kitchen area, with tables tucked away down a narrow hall to the back. It was in the latter area where I ended up sitting. Oddly enough, I was told that a table was open there for me, despite there being a sign in the middle of the room saying that they were reserved for parties of two or more. (I suppose you're not breaking the rules if the staff tells you to go sit there!) I decided to go with a deluxe cheeseburger and fries, and went for one of their strawberry malts rather than a fountain drink. The malt came up about 10 minutes after I got there, and then the rest arrived around 5 minutes after I sat down. At least on the strawberry end, the malts are excellent. Very creamy and packed with chunks of strawberry. I must say that Freddie's also does a nice cheeseburger, even if it didn't necessarily blow me away. The fries were less inspiring: a bit overdone and lacking in seasoning. I kind of had to chase down a server to get a bill at the end. Given the number of people hanging around for a place to sit, I figured they would have brought it by by the time I finished (or shortly thereafter). Could simply have been that they were too tied down preparing orders in the front. In any case, the meal was more than satisfactory. I wouldn't say they're among the best in town for a burger and fries, but for the retro atmosphere and no-nonsense dining, they're definitely worth a stop..

In from Corrales NM - perfect Route 66 ol fashioned hamburger restaurant - 5* ambiance and aroma not to mention REAL handcut French fries and chocolate malts - all made to order - excellent hamburgers - why why why would anyone eat a hamburger any other place?

The food here is excellent, cooked to perfection without the greasy mess. Great atmosphere, friendly employees and outstanding service. I will be back, you can count on it.

The burger that I got today was horrible! I love the staff and the French Fries! Normally great food but the past few burgers that I got have not been good, today I wished that I had gone to a fast food drive through.

My vote for the best "diner style" burger in town. Great atmosphere. These burgers are cooked to order and you can tell everything is fresh. Great burger place. It's popular, so be patient.
