Yummy cheap Thai buffet... Lunch for two included 4 plates of curries, pad Thai, rice and chow mein. The Tom yum soup was hot and delish. Finished it off with some coconut tapioca and canned pineapple. Didn't spend over $25. Service was great, plates were cleared everytime we got up and the hot tea kept on coming. Came in around 4pm and everything tasted awesome, we had the place to ourselves.

This one of my top 5 favorite places to eat. It is the best buffet I have ever had. The staff are really good people. I have got to know the family over the years and it is a genuine family restaurant. Great food very different from any other buffet in town. Give it try you will not regret it.

This is by far the best buffet I have ever been to. The food is constantly fresh no matter what time of day it is. You can taste 50 different authentic thai dishes for less than 10 dollars and never leave hungry. Take out is by the Lb at an amazing price. The interior leaves something to be desired, but lets face it, you're at a buffet. Great service from a friendly family staff.

I have been several times now and the one thing I can count on is consistency. The same dishes are always in the same trays each time I go and that makes for a reliable establishment. There is a sign saying that they bring out small amounts of food so that the food is fresher. I tend to agree with that method. At the same time the trays are hardly ever out of food for very long. They replace the food quickly. The service is very good and they always make it a point to stop by and say hi since I have become familiar to them. There are so many different dishes that I always find something new when I go there. This place is on my regular rotation and I haven't become tired of it. If you are new to Thai food, this is a great place to try out new dishes.

My family's been going here for quite a few years. Yes, things most often change, and I cannot review honestly without giving history. It use to be really good. One could easily look past the plain, yet gaudily cliche, decor, which is currently indeed showing wear and tear. We employ people from Laos, Thailand & Korea. A couple of our Korean employees tried this restaurant a couple years ago & one of them (sorry: GROSS ALERT) tossed her cookies in the parking lot. This was shortly after hubby & I were there and the food was COLD. The young man owner told me someone hadn't gotten there at the appropriate time to turn the steam tables on. He offered to nuke my plate. Ahh, no. This Tues was our first visit back. You know, checking-in to see if the old days had been resurrected. Sadly, not so. The food in the pans is kept very low. I'm guessing because traffic has dwindled. Nothing was grossly or dangerously cold. Up front: I don't do food on a stick, doughy sweet/sour anything or noodles. I started w/ hot/sour soup & rice rolls. The rolls were fresh, crunchy & flavorful. The soup was rather bland and had no wood ear (fungus) mushrooms. We added ginger sauce from the buffet & it helped. The Som Tum, spicy carrot salad, was tangy and fresh. The fried rice was nothing. Bland, but served as a base for the sauced dishes. The spring rolls were seriously over fried. Ginger chicken, okay w/ flavorful thigh meat. Better than the Tad something chicken. Pepper steak was lean w/crunchy peppers. The sauce was well seasoned. Pad Gai w/chili paste was okay. Pad wan Gai (Hawaiian) chicken, according to hubby was quite authentic. i. e. Like an employee makes. I thought it was a little dry. One dish I'd always majorly enjoyed in the past was their Basil Beef. Those days are gone. It looked rather wan, wasn't as spicy as it use to be. It used to so hot you'd cry, but a good heat. Not very much basil either. Edible, not joyful. Pan Ped Tour (?), chicken w/ bamboo & basil, had nice chicken, crunchy veges, & some spice but. . . no bamboo. The green curry had nice chicken & spicy zucchini. Thai chicken dumplings w/ herbs--- not much going on, needs a sauce. Pad Thai chicken was delish but a little too sweet. I tried the fried rice noodles and they were quite tasty, in my humble opinion. I broke down and tried the sweet/sour shrimp. Ick. Just not into it. I just don't like fried dough balls. I totally agree w/ the reviewer who said the food goes cold quite quickly. I took very small portions as usual & still, it got cold. I tried to get some dish names accurate & was busted pretty fast. They (staff, owners) seemed sad. The young man owner took over our table from the waitress, who was doing a fine job, making sure everything was okay & our drinks were filled. My daughter asked me what I was reviewing & her response was, "Its so sad".

I went here for the first time on a weekday lunch with some co-workers. You're seated immediately, and then you can just go for it at the buffet. The buffet is pretty large and has most of the Thai staples as far as I could tell. I'm vegetarian, so I didn't study the meat dishes too hard, but they looked fine. There are several veggie options. As it's a buffet, the food wasn't quite warm enough. You had to eat fast or it was cold within 10 minutes. Because of that, I'd recommend getting just a couple of items, eat them, then get up and get another plate. If you fill a whole plate, you'll end up eating cold food. The food itself was all right. Nothing too memorable, but nothing terrible either. The Pad Thai with tofu was pretty good. If you're looking for tastier Thai food, I'd recommend Lanna Thai over at 71st & Memorial. However, this place is good for having a little bit of a lot of different dishes.

I had a serious craving for Asian food, so I yelped "Asian restaurants" in Tulsa. The selection of course was pretty limited, but I was super hungry, so I decided that a buffet would be the best choice. I came across Bangkok Restaurant. After being in Tulsa for 2 weeks, I don't have high expectations for the food scene here. I just was hoping to go to a place and get some white rice, massive quantities, and not need to pay a lot of money. The buffet here only cost $9.20 for lunch, which is a good deal considering the buffet has a lot of choices. There are a good number of curries, veggie dishes, noodles, and meats. But of course, this place is quantity over quality. None of the dishes were standouts. I enjoyed the curries the most and appreciated that there were actually veggie options. The meat skewers were weird though - they were dunked in pools of very liquidy sauce. The one chicken skewer that I tried was very overcooked and dry. On a side note, if you don't deal with heat well, watch out because there are some pretty spicy items here. The dessert bar here was very lacking. It had jello, oranges, canned fruit, fried bananas and sweet potatoes, and very runny coconut sticky rice. There was no mango sticky rice, which was very disappointing. This place boasts that they do not use MSG. And I didn't come out of here completely dehydrated as I normally do when I go to Asian buffets, so that was a plus. The quality of the food did not satisfy my Asian food craving, but this place is a good place to have lunch if you are on a budget, want to try many different items, and have a huge appetite.

Even though this is (strangely) somewhere I don't pass very often, I usually end up going here a few times a year when I need to get my fill of Thai food for a reasonable price. Overall, the quality is great. Everything is warm and there's a few dishes I get to try without ordering them in another restaurant. Often, a Thai menu can be a little daunting to me, so I'm glad when I get the chance to try something that I would otherwise not be brave enough to order... and for that, Bangkok really helps. However, nothing you eat here will beat ordering the item at a Thai restaurant. That's to be expected. When you go to a buffet and get to try a little of everything, you know it's being produced in a way so that you're not getting quite the level of food you would at a non-buffet. There's a couple of things here I could eat all day, but ultimately, it comes down to that you're getting one thing (quantity) and giving up just a little of something else (quality). The ambiance of the place... well, it feels very bland. It's a little older and the wear and tear is showing, but nothing is dirty or bad. Just it's almost forgettable inside. Which is fine: the food comes first. So when you want to try an array of Thai food, head to Bangkok Restaurant!

The food has always been consistent. As a vegetarian I found plenty of dishes. The food was fresh and the flavor amazing. The sticky rice is great and worth saving room in your tummy.

The outside and inside not much to look at but I enjoyed the food took friends here to try thai food they all were glad they came .. ;) very friendly staff . Don't much care if people speak English or not I'm here to eat not to chat w staff so don't know why people always complain bout that go to burger King if u need English speaking staff .. just saying !!

  • Donna H.

My husband gives it 4 stars! The interior is worn, but not gross. The people are very nice, but speak little English. This is my first time to have Thai food, I was surprised it is not like Chinese food. The buffet consists of 4 rows of pans, which is a huge selection. I usually take 2 tablespoons of each thing, so I can sample everything. I ran out of plate after 2 rows. Some helpful hints....they say they put out small amounts so they are continually putting out fresh food. They also say to stir the food before serving, to redistribute the heat and you are more likely to get hot food. Even with that, some food was not as hot as we would have liked it to be. The food was fresh and pretty good, but a little salty on some dishes. The yellow curry my favorite, then Pad Nor Mai Moo and Pad Thai Chicken. The steamed rice was better than the fried rice, it was gummy. I probably wouldn't go back, but my husband liked it so, I will probably return and be happy with yellow curry, Pad Nor Mai Moo, Pad Thai Chicken with steamed rice.

If you have had great and wonderful Thai food, there's a reason there shouldn't be a buffet for it. Nothing was great and it's runned down, you can only imagine what the food is like in the back. Stick to fresh ingredients at restaurants, not buffets -- especially Thai food!

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but WOW is this place great. Really great variety of high-quality food, including Thai favorites like curry as well as some new things I hadn't seen before. The buffet was very large and took up four different tables. Everything tasted hot and fresh. About 50% of the buffet was vegetarian dishes, which is very unusual for a buffet. I came with a group, and there wasn't a single person who wasn't happy. Staff was friendly and checked in often. Definitely got our money's worth! If I lived in Tulsa I'd be here every day!

  • Vernon C.

They do keep the batches small which is nice as the food is fresher as a rule. The food is ok and there is a big selection but not dish is particularly great. I do eat here occasionally just because it is the best Thai buffet we have. Some of the flavors and dishes are not what I would consider traditional Thai.

I knew that taking a chance on a buffet was risky, however, I was tempeted by the thought of having a small amount of a couple of different dishes I was in the mood for... Turned out it was NOT a good decision. The food was mediocre at best. There was nothing particularly bad about the food, but nothing remarkable either. I eat ethnic food quite often and given the number of ethic restaurants in Tulsa area, I definitely feel cheated that I wasted my time with salty, bland food. (I couldn't taste coconut milk in a single thing I tried!!!) I honestly think I consumed more chili paste than actual food hoping I could, somehow, improve the tatse!! I do NOT recommend.

    (1)
  • Keith F.

Yes it has its flaws--it's sometimes greasy and sometimes the food gets a bit old sitting there in the trays if you go at off-hours. But hey, it's a buffet. And guess what? I've lived in Thailand in years past, and some of the food here is actually the most authentic tasting Thai food in the city. Some dishes should be avoided, like anything that looks watery. But the stir-fried chicken with basil (gai pad krapao) tastes like it is right off the streets of Bangkok. Go for lunch and give it a shot.

  • Sue J.

This place ROCKS. They make everything in small batches so its always fresh, there's no MSG, the selection is large and diverse and the tastes are out of this world. Regardless of what else I sample, I always get the spicy pad thai, and drizzle it with peanut sauce... mmmmmmm. Ooh, and the fresh, crispy, spicy veggie salads!! I ate there yesterday and now I'm hungry for it, again. My husband and a guy at the next table struck up a conversation one time, and this guy told us that he was traveling on business the year before, out on the east coast. He'd never eaten at the Bangkok Buffet before, but he mentioned to the guy next to him on an airplane that he was from Tulsa. That guy told HIM about Bangkok, and said he considered it to be the best Thai food in the U.S. Oh, and I didn't even mention the coolest waiter in the world who works there. Although we love this place, it's on the other side of town from where we live so we don't get there often. After not visiting for a whole year, we were given a warm greeting by a waiter who remembered what we drink. It's located in a strip mall, next to a little dance studio. The interior decor is not even remotely hip. It is not THE cool place to see and be seen. But man.... it's good.

The foods were okay, not too great for Buffet, but lots of foods. Pad Thai looked boring, no greens nor meat, gray color looking. I'm not too excited to eat/try any other dishes. Just ate 2 small plates and left. However, the service was nice. Some of their dishes are Chinese- fusion foods, the soup was boring.

Great place to get started eating Thai. Lots of things to try and all the curries are great. Pad Thai probably isn't what you are expecting if you know Thai, but it is good. Great value and my favorite overall Thai place in Tulsa. Service is VERY friendly.

Great place to get started eating Thai. Lots of things to try and all the curries are great. Pad Thai probably isn't what you are expecting if you know Thai, but it is good. Great value and my favorite overall Thai place in Tulsa. Service is VERY friendly.

What a nice change! The Red and Green Curry were both excellent. Fairly priced and great selection. Nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed my lunch.

Very friendly and good service. This is a buffet, so there are several good dishes to choose from. My favorites are the garlic chicken skewers, mild sweet potatoes and sweet and sour pork.

But man.... it's good.
