Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. I so upset to have to write this review because in the past, which has been awhile, I have always liked this restaurant! But I will never be returning again! My meal was disgusting, seriously tasted like throw up spaghetti! It was suppose to be grilled chicken and mixed veggies on angel hair pasta with a light cream sauce. The meal looked ok, but considering the fact I ended up sick to my stomach later in the evening after only having 4 or 5 bites says something! The queso was also Sub-par! The only decent part of the whole experience was the service!

For our last night we had planned to go to El Rio Verde again, but had kind of gotten tired of driving around. We wimped out and ate at Abuelo's near our hotel. This is the kind of big commercial place that we usually give a wide berth. We entered with fear and trepidation. It is big and it feels very commercial. El Rio Verde it is not. They serve three salsas. The green tomatillo includes crushed pineapple, which I did not want in my salsa verde. There was a mild red and a spicy red. I liked the spicy red which had roasted flavors and/or some chipotle. This was pretty good but had to be eaten with absolutely tasteless chips. I have started calling this style of chip, fried paper. We both ordered enchiladas (2). They are accompanied with a lot of rice and a stingy order of beans. My enchiladas were shredded pork that they call carnitas. They are not carnitas, but were not bad. The pork was moist and seasoned well. They were enrobed in a salsa verde that was billed as Santa Fe style. That comparison was also a stretch of the imagination, but again, not bad. Ms T went gringo with ground beef, always hoping for some well-seasoned carne molido. She did not really find it here rating the enchiladas 2-1/2 stars. They were in chile con queso which was orange colored Cheese Whiz with a tiny bit of green chile. Our meal was not a disaster and in fact was a little better than expected (for me that is) on the strength of the spicy salsa, the shredded pork and the salsa verde. I recommend visitors to Tulsa Mexican restaurants track down the little places like Tacos El Rinconada or El Rio Verde. Abuelo's is a weak three stars.

Excellent atmosphere. Sitting in the center of the restaurant felt we were sitting in an outside courtyard even though we were not. The bar area looked nice and cozy. The service was fantastic. Our waiter wasn't just good he was also very friendly. This was a huge stand out to me and left me with a great impression. Food was good and plentiful. I'm not a big authentic Mexican cuisine guy but I enjoyed the Fajita Tacos. I'd return if I as in the mood for some Mexican food. Update: I believe our server was Erik. Awesome guy!

I just can't get past the service. Our host was always smiling, checking the table, recommending some good things to eat and drink, and frankly turned me completely around on my Abuelo's attitude. The food came out really hot and every order was spot on. They bring out a sampling of three sauces and then you let them know what you liked and they bring more of those. A special request sauce was the habanero sauce and it was very popular at the table. The margaritas that we ordered came in their own shaker which was convenient for keeping them cold. The shots of tequila were generously poured. And, the water was kept full. Their chips are very thin and were replenished as needed. My one complaint is that they have gone to these little screens on each table. They are at least for paying your bill if not other uses, I didn't like them. I kept getting distracted looking across the room. It was like trying to watch a concert while everyone in front of you has their phone held up taping the show. Maybe I am just getting older, but this was just one more thing taking up space on my table. I will definitely be returning soon, and I certainly hope we get the same server.

Abuelo's is fine, but nothing to write home about. If we are in a group and other people want to go there, that's totally fine. But we definitely wouldn't choose to go there on our own. There is far better Mexican food in Tulsa. The restaurant is big and open with high ceilings. The decor has a courtyard feel. The service is good and fast, always friendly. They bring you three types of salsas to begin (mild, verde, and hot) and then will bring more of whichever one you like best. The variety is nice but all three are pretty lacking. I ordered the taco & enchalada from the lunch menu. It was good, but again, nothing special. The portions are generous but for the price, I would expect something that tasted better. To pay, you swipe your card on a little computer at the table. I'm sure this is the direction more restaurants are going but I still found it odd and impersonal.

The walls and atmosphere tell the story of Spanish conquest. The Old World meets the New World, and of course, the New World conquered. It's a story that is important, not because we should extol the virtues of Spanish civilization, but because it happened. Now for the food. For a chain, and even if it wasn't a chain, the food is superb. The most excellent freshly made flour tortillas on the planet. Near perfect rice and a good blend of Mexican flavors that are distinct and complementary. It's a place where you can get good Mexican food and chill out. I'm all about the hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint, but when I don't mind being around stuck up south Tulsa urbanites, I come here and I really like it.

Excellent meal and service. I had the chili relleno and chicken enchilada. It was delicious. For dessert, I had flan which was out of this world. The server was excellent. Checkout was a snap with their Ziosk. All in all - great experience.

Went there for lunch. My wife ordered a chicken burrito that contained no chicken. The waiter took it back and the kitchen manager came out and apologized and explained that they were training a new cook. He asked if he could make my wife another burrito and she said no just some chicken on the side which he brought right out. Our waiter brought the bill and said we wouldn't be charged for my wife's dinner. I thought that was exactly the kind of customer service that has been missing in most restaurants I have visited lately. Very nice. I will be back.

I have been to this location 2 tomes and 2 times in OKC both are good . the 2 times in Tulsa I'm had great service and good food . I get enchalidas but the cooks did things different each time ?? should have been full chili on and full quaso but the second time shorted quaso but it was very good and filling still one of my go to places .

Abuelos has the theme down, but the food not so much. Honestly, this is a place I would pass on if I was in Texas looking for Mexican food (even if it is a Texas chain). First impressions are good when you are seated. You get a variety of salsa from hot roasted red to a sweet green salsa. There are an abundant amount of menu options with some being a bit pricey for what you get. Abuelos concept I think is more of a modern twist on Mexican food. There is nothing wrong with that, but after several visits the food here just misses the mark somehow.

They start you off with chips and salsa (three different types too!) but you must try the guacamole it is delicious! We also had the Queso dip. It was okay, but I prefer mine a bit thicker and spicer although theirs did have a good flavor to it. I went with a group of 9 and the service was great and quick! I had the Grande Sangria Swirl (sangria swirled with frozen margarita) and that was a good drink. There are sooooo many menu options here I had a hard time choosing, but I ending up getting the Enchilada Itzel with beans and rice. It was piping hot and very tasty! If I hadn't filled up on chips and salsa I would have cleaned the plate! Aside from the great food the restaurant is really nice and festive inside.

I went to Abuelo's on the recommendation of a co-worker during a recent business trip to Tulsa. Their outdoor patio is wonderful - lots of shaded tables, a great place to sit and enjoy the warm weather. Our party had a variety of dishes and I tried one of their salads. Everything was excellent, especially the light green salsa they put on the table with their chips - amazing!! I'll absolutely come back to Abuelo's, next time for dinner so I can try one of their specialty margarita's!

Honesty is key..so here's my review. My fiancé and I was having a date night and was going to Texas Roadhouse for our dinner. Once pulled into the parking lot it was so full ( which is no surprise ) people were parking in the shopping center parking lot. We then decided were not doing that, so let's go somewhere different yet close. There it was Abuelos..big and yellow. Even though I had never eatin there before my fiancé has & had been saying to again so I gave in and am very glad that I did just that. Same price as any other nice restaurant. Was in the $30 range for 2 & w/out appetizers. Was very delicious and fresh, & the ambiance was relaxing and made you feel like you was on a date and was not loud or dirty. Im so glad Texas Roadhouse was full because I wouldn't of tried out this restaurant and been more satisfied then going to Texas Roadhouse. Will definitely be back again very very soon!!

I've been coming to Abuelos for YEARS! For the longest time it was my favorite. Before the new paint job and three different salsas, it was always excellent. I always assumed they fell under new managements and had changed cooks. The food just isn't what it used to be. And I know because I tasted it at least once a week five years before the change over. In the past four years since, I've been four times or so. I'm literally so disappointed. Every. Single. Time. The flavors that USED to be in the dishes are gone. It's often over-cooked and incredibly greasy. Every time I see Abuelos now I just want MY Abuelos back. Now, the Salsa is good, but I'd go back to their single, excellent, salsa choice in a heartbeat. I mix a spoonful of the roasted (hot) salsa, a spoonful of the pineapple verde, and two spoonfuls of the "original" and I enjoy it. The queso also used to be my favorite, but the recipe is different now and it has fallen from its slot. I know, I know. I'm just stuck on how things used to be--but they truly used to be good and have fallen so much since in my opinion. The staff is always, always friendly and attentive and the decor is laid back and casual. (I love the sky-like ceiling.) Lighting is romantically dim in some areas of seating. Over all Abuelos is no longer my first choice.

We love Tex-Mex and Abuelo's is the best (except some restaurants in TX, etc). We've been to the one in Rogers, AR many times and one in Wichita Falls, KS and now this one in Tulsa. Our family has really enjoyed all the food we have eaten at all locations- including this one. My husband and I really love the enchiladas- I think the shredded beef is amazing.

When we lived in Texas we really enjoyed Abuellos. Unfortunately last night at the Tulsa location it was extremely disappointing. My wife ordered a mojito and I ordered the house margarita. The mojito was overly sour while the margarita was syrupy sweet as if they had the proportions wrong. The waiter brought me an upgraded margarita which was good. My 15 year old son had the bacon wrapped shrimp which he couldn't finish because they were overly greasy. My wife and daughter shared a salad with beef. The salad was good and beef flavorful but when they were almost done they found a dead fly in the bottom. They didn't finish the rest. I have only sent 5-6 things back to the kitchen in my life and had to send two items back in the same meal. The wait staff and manager were very apologetic and friendly, but atmosphere can't overcome subpar food.

  • Courtney E.

Service started out good, but immediately went downhill after our food arrived. Didn't see our waiter again until he dropped off our ticket. Bad on refills, which is a pet peeve of mine. Our food tasted cheap. The refried beans were sweet and runny...which is not how I like my beans. The queso sauce on my enchiladas was not good! Cheap tasting is the only way I can describe it. The cheapest, neon yellow, liquid cheese I've ever had tasted better than this stuff. My other enchilada had a sour cream sauce, but I assume it was mixed with something when it was made b/c it was green. Not super tasty, but not the worst thing on my plate. The shredded beef filling was delicious but that was the only thing they had going for them. The rice...it was ok. Good salsa. Totally disappointed with this meal! I feel like they owed us an apology instead of a thank you on the way out. It was that bad! I usually don't leave restaurants with buyers remorse but this was the exception. I genuinely felt ripped off even though we had a coupon. We will not be back!!

I have only ever been to an Abuelo's once and enjoyed the food, but barely remember it since it was a while ago. I have never been to this location and recently went here for lunch with coworkers. When I walked in I was surprised at how it looked inside. It looks beautiful and really caught me off guard. The staff there is all younger, but they were pretty nice and competent of their jobs. Before I start talking about my whole experience I will say that I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, but just make do with what I have to since everyone always craves it and drags me everywhere. The chips and salsa here are great! The give you 3 salsas and the chips do not feel so heavy even when you eat a million of them. I also ordered the guacamole and queso and thought it was pretty well made for a chain Mexican restaurant. For lunch I ordered the shrimp tacos with rice and potatoes. I thought it was pretty good but I am not sure if it was because I was starving. I got the tacos on flour tortillas and was confused as to why my tacos were glued to a corn tortilla with cheese. Aside from that the shrimp was good and looked like it was in a tempura batter which threw me off. It also came with this peanut sauce that I was not too sure about, but was not a fan of it. The rice was pretty good as well and the "papas" aka potatoes were pretty good. Pretty much like a Mexican version of mashed potatoes so you can't really go wrong. Overall, I think that it was pretty decent and the atmosphere definitely made it a lot better than it really was. I wouldn't mind coming back here and think that this is a classier version of going to get Mexican food. Next time I will have to give the drinks a taste!

I swear to god this place is my spirit animal. Not because of any extraordinary tex-mex, but because of the menagerie of quesos. No shit, there I was, spending two weeks in Israel and on the prowl for comfort food. Their jacked up roads and various pathogens put my enteric system on slo-mo and required the warm embrace of liquid non-petroleum based cheese. But oh no dear readers, you have a better chance making 100k a year with a social justice degree than finding liquid cheese in the levant. I imagine it's easy for Americans to backside and order texmex outside of the Empire, but shit it's too tempting. Making a simple demand for queso and fresh chips in Israel, is like ice skating uphill. Those monsters brought me cold goat cheese on a plate with f#&*$ng sweet potato chips. Jesus hell. This same sad story has basically been the theme of my travels across the globe. Abuelos basically throws you a queso themed triumph right when you walk in the door. So if you like 3 types of queso and moderate enchiladas, check this joint out.

  • Lauren D.

The atmosphere is classy and upscale for Tex Mex. We get it to go fairly often because it is so delicious and stays fresh even to go. The staff is always knowledgeable and super friendly. The enchiladas here are my favorite. My favorite dish is the Grande platter which is 3 enchiladas, rice and beans, a taco, and a scoop of guacamole. Enough to share too.

Where do I begin about Abuelo's i don't even know. First when you walk in your greeted by a friendly smiling face, Your seated pretty quick (depending on day and time you go). The waiter/waitress greets you really friendly and takes your drink order(I don't drink so its easy) , then they bring you chips and salsa dip (3 bowls of different types). They take your order as far as your entree and what can i say i'm a sucker for fajitas, but my Fiance' talked me into trying something different. So i ordered the 3 Enchiladas, this was a explosion of just pure AWESOME from the first bite. So in short i had an awesome experience with Abuelo's. If someone i know was to ask me about this restaurant i would definately recommend it.

Funny that for a person that is not Mexican you have to explain to the waiter if they have a typical Mexican dish and they have no clue what your talking about. Come on peoe is this a real Mexican restaurant or another Taco Bell? Very disappointed. :(

Service was good, but that's basically all that was good here. The food had NO flavor at all and was just kind of mushy. I was excited when I saw carnitas on the menu but they were boring. My boyfriend said his shrimp tasted weird and his steak was flavorless. Also, am I the only one who finds it weird that you can get mashed potatoes at a Mexican restaurant? I guess maybe I'm just spoiled coming from California I have high expectations. Still looking for a decent Mexican place. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Stopped by to check out their "Happy Hour" and was greatly disappointed. The bacon wrapped shrimp was good but wait staff was stand-offish and served over priced drinks. The margarita's were undrinkable due to the overwhelming amount of sweet and sour mix, we I complained to the bar tender he just said "hello it's happy hour" I traded out my poor excuse for a margarita for a Negra Modelo drank it and got the hell out of there. Don't waste your time or money on the Sorry excuse of a happy hour here.

Worst Mexican I've ever had. Not fresh at all and tasted horrible. The service is unimpressive. The atmosphere is typical. It is well overpriced for the "quality" of the food. I would never go back to this establishment especially with so many other options of much greater Mexican restaurants.

Done in lunch and place was big ! Packed, but was bought over to a table for 2 less then 5 mins , menu was huge ... Not really described well on what was what and did not really wanna trouble the waitress for a lot of questions , did the lunch special and for less then 10 dollars the portion was very generous ! Overall the experience was great and the waitress was well mannered and chirpy

Knew the name from back home, figured it was safe, went in for some standard fair. I chose to sit in the bar so I could watch the Rangers game and the server was a little spread thin but she did great remembering to check with the kitchen about my allergy information. I spied on the menu Sautéed Chicken Zucchini. Um, yes please! Sautéed chicken breast with sliced zucchini, roasted red peppers and corn in a spicy cream sauce. I ordered it with veggies (squash, zucchini, red bell pepper, carrots, broccoli!) instead of the rice an beans. O.M.G. I could eat this every night! I will definitely be going back, the chips were good, 3 kinds of salsa brought to the table and the side of queso I ordered was wonderful after I tossed in a little of the spicy salsa!

I read the reviews and was leary about trying it out, but my family said they enjoyed it. The atmosphere is really nice even nicer than Los cabos wich is my wife and I's favorite place to go. The service was great especially for a Friday night. They serve three kinds of salsa and they were all super good. The menue is a bit long but we both got the special of the night and loved it the portions are huge we each took home a another whole meal. I give their margaritas a 7 on a 10 scale and would visit here again prolly one of the best Mexican places in Tulsa / broken arrow area!!!

Excellent service, many GLUTEN FREE choices, even chips, and wonderful food! We dined here at least once a week during our 3 month stay in the area. The staff is attentive and understand the Gluten issues and went out of their way to make sure my food was prepared accordingly. The bacon wrapped shrimp are heavenly! If you go during happy hour you can get a great deal on these and other 1/2 price appetizers and margaritas/beer. We liked the 3 different salsa's they serve and the food is cooked to order. Fajita's are great and portions are extra-large,

Our server was great! He was fast and friendly but not cheesy. He kept our drinks full and had a smile. Now to the food...it took a little longer than expected to get it and had almost zero flavor. I had the trio fajitas and it all tasted the same. No spice or flavor of any kind, although the flour tortillas were cooked perfectly. My girl had two carnitas tacos and a chicken enchilada all of which had no flavor. This place is better than Ted's down the street but I have to say we wont be back.

The only thing good about this place was the chips and salsa. Seriously. I ordered two enchiladas, one beef with chile sauce and one chicken with queso. When my order arrived, I got one beef enchilada and one cheese enchilada, both with queso on top. The queso looked and tasted absolutely terrible. Worse than Velveeta cheese dip. I was expecting a white queso cheese dip that is typically served at Mexican restaurants, but instead I got neon yellow slop. The waiter left right after leaving the plates so I didn't even get a chance to tell him what was wrong. When I finally got his attention again he apologized and put in another order for me. I told him what I originally ordered but also told him that I wanted red sauce on both this time. My order was right the second time around, but it still wasn't very good. All in all, the rice was okay, the enchiladas weren't very good, the queso was disgusting, and the salsa was pretty good. There are so many Mexican restaurants in Tulsa and the surrounding area, so I don't see a reason to come back here again.

Eesh!! What a bad experience. We haven't been to an Abeulo's in a year or so, but a free entree offer enticed us to give it a try. I'll start with the positive. They had 3 types of salsas. 2 red, 1 green. The reds were delicious while the green just kind of added some color to the trio of dips. Now, on to everything else...our service was lousy overall. Our waiter was only at our table to take our order and bring our bill. My drink ran empty and stayed that way. My wife and I both ordered one beef and one chicken enchilada. The food that came out...well, I wouldn't call it food. It tasted like over processed slop. I would take taco bell's worst menu item over this stuff. The refried beans were crusty and the rice was crunchy. Nothing positive about the rest of the experience, except they had delicious butter mints on the way out of the door. For the prices this establishment charges you should get nothing but the freshest of ingredients, but that is not the case. We won't be back here anytime soon.

I am giving 3 stars for great service. Staff was very attentive and on top of things. However, coming in I did not think this would be a tex-mex place. I am not particularly fond on tex mex but gave it a shot still. I ordered the soup and salad lunch the salad w/ the seasons beef. It was delicious very refreshing :) the tortilla soup was tastey - I am very picky about my chicken tortilla soup, I prefer it creamy rather than brothy. Their soup was brothy, but so full of flavor still! I was very pleased. My son however ordered a burrito lunch, it was way hot and by the time I finished both my soup and salad, he had eaten nothing but the guacamole off his plate due to the temp. He eventually ate the meat out of his burrito and was satisfied. Also he had eaten chips with queso dip he said was good, but that he preferred the cheese dip at Maria's in sallisaw better lol! Overall a satisfying experience. I would probably go back for the salad if I were from the area.

I have been eating at Abuelo's since I was in high school and I still keep coming back on an almost weekly basis. If your looking for a classy mexican food restaurant in the Tulsa Metro Area Abuelo's is definitely worth checking out. The food is definitely some of the best Mexican food I have had in the area and the servings are huge! The staff is friendly and I can promise you won't go without enough chips and salsa to tide you over until your food arrives. I would definitely put Abuelos's food right at the top of some of the best Mexican food I have eaten in the US. If you plan on visiting Abuelo's on Friday or Saturday night it will be crowded. But even if you have to wait for a table the food and the atmosphere are well worth it. The staff are very accommodating to family size groups or a large group of friends.

Service was perfect! The food was great, I'm not a fan of Tex-Mex and this place was way above that category. I have lived in San Antonio, Tx and have eaten real Mexican food, this place would be on the top!!!!!

Order the specials. The enchilada special was warped in a crape. Very different from your standard Mexican. Bacon wrapped shrimp and all the sauces are great. The 3 salsa tray with your chips is a nice freebe. Very classy place and the service is great. Bar tender Eric is a blast and on top of things. Who knew I had to come from Cali to Oklahoma for great Mexican....

What I liked about Abuelos was the great service. The staff was welcoming and always checking on us. The food was nice and hot and the portions are huge. The chips and salsa were really good too. In fact, they kept filling our chip basket and we became full quickly. The food was just ok. I was expecting more than the standard Mexican food you get at many places but the food came up a bit short. I wasn't wowed by anything in particular. A lot of people must like the food because it was a full house the day we were there. If you want good atmosphere and great service then go to Abuelos. If you want great Mexican food then you may want to go elsewhere.

I was in town for the night on my way to a Wedding. I did the research to find a great place to eat while we were there. I found lot's of reviews on this place vote top 1-5 depending on the sites I found. This place was Amazing!!!. Staff was friendly, happy and attentive. Food came out Super hot & quick. The environment was excellent and for a Friday night we didn't even have to wait. I guess I was taking too long to decide and the head waiter came by and described the menu in detail, pointing out the best choices. I got the Tilapia Veracruz...Tilapia with fresh shrimp, scallops, tomatoes, roasted Poblano strips, and olives in a bloody Mary sauce. I got the smaller potion and a choice of 2 sides....Lime Rice and Espinaca Casserole ......like a spinach dip with mushrooms, onions, garlic, peppers and lots of cheeses. Everything was Out of this world. They have 3 different salsas they bring you and mix up another one at your table. The deserts are amazing as well. The table next to us was celebrating and got ever desert on the menu and I didn't see anything left over. We got some kind of ice cream nacho's and they did not disappoint. MUST TRY!!!!

You know I'm going to go ahead and give it three stars all because of the service. Kristina was simply amazing, and very accommodating. As seen before the food didn't quite measure up to what was expected, but superb service rendered.

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had, in every way. The selections are original and different, the service above outstanding, the food amazing. I really liked the fact that you get different sauces to choose from. The decor was perfect. Very warm and friendly. i especially liked the vaulted ceiling with the clouds and indirect lighting. The waiter took time to talk with us and answer questions. The manager came over and chatted with us for about 15 minutes when we were done! He told us a lot of things about Abuelo's that were very interesting. It sounds like a great place to work that takes care of it's people, and i greatly appreciate a place like that. He told us the story behind the statue and the murals and the remodel they had done. It was very memorable and special, unlike anything I have experienced in dining out before. We will be back, many times.

Abuelos is one my favorite places to eat in Tulsa! The atmosphere is good, the staff is great, and the food is delectable. I give them two enthusiastic thumbs up!

For a chain, this is a decent place. Atmosphere is good and the service has always been good as well. I recommend the Patron margarita and the shrimp chowder. My wife and I split the Grande last time we were there and I am happy we did. It is very large, but allows you to try different things. If you are looking for decent mexican on "restaraunt row' in Tulsa, than this is the place to go.

Food was ok and the service was ok at best. I'm glad we were in good company or otherwise this would have been a bad experience.

I was expecting to be very impressed, but left needing more convincing that this place was as amazing as others have noted. I had the combination plate with a bit of everything and it was ok, not the finest. The margaritas however were stellar, and the chips and salsa were right up there with the best. The layered dip was just ok too, since it was so soupy you couldn't tell there were layers. The atmosphere is exciting and comfortable. Four of us sat outside on the patio and the chairs were ripping at the seams and the tables were so small our food and drinks barely fit. I will keep on looking for a favorite mexican place here in Tulsa!

Fun atmosphere, but the food doesn't seem to measure up to the decor. It's nice change of pace for Mexican food though.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
