Food was really good and authentic .. Chips were awesome and the salsa was by far one of the best I have tasted in a restaurant in a long while.. The food servings were really big and the price was fair. I would recommend this place if your wanting a nice and casual sit down Mexican restaurant at the casino.

Sorry to say a bit disappointed in the food quality when compared to other El Fenix locations in Dallas, Fort Worth & Burleson. It just wasn't quite as tasty, food a bit cold and the chicken packed into the chimichanga seemed like the kind that came out of a can. My husband's beef enchiladas were not much better. The chips and salsa were great, though.

Worst Mexican food ever. Bland and/or too salty. The fajita meat tasted like plain old boiled meat. The skinny margarita, after 1 false start, was awful. The best part is that the prices are high too! Highly recommend avoidance.

The absolute worst restaurant experience that I've ever had!! The waitress was awful. She came to the table and just stood there expecting us to just get on with it, not even introducing herself. OMG whatever you do, DO NOT HAVE THE QUESO!!!! I know it's free with the coupon, but it was so terrible that it made me sick looking at it...consistency was like flubber, taste was like squared American cheese melted, and we requested a different one several times! Each time was colder than the last! Even past the queso, the food was very greasy. The worst of everything was the service. TERRIBLE! Everyone seemed to hate their job! Overall: just gross and disappointing!

Should have known trouble was on the way when we had to track down someone to seat us at around half noon on a Monday. Richard was our server and the chips and drinks cam soon enough, but we surmised that Richard forgot us in the corner and our plates arrived well after others that had been seated after us were already finished. Proof for this train of thought was, 1. that the plates were super hot, as if they had been sitting under the warmer FOR EVER and 2. The cheese in the enchilada my mother ordered was no longer soft and melted, no it had hardened. :( Wish I had read the other yelp reviews before. They seem spot on in hindsight.

Worst El Fenix ever! Patio was empty and tables at bar were empty but we still had to wait 40 minutes for a table. They need a new manger. Will never eat there again!

It seems like they are never well staffed and that really hurts coustmers service, the wait time for food is well over 25min

In a word: EH! It was aight, you know what I'm sayin'? We started off with the guacamole & queso combo and I wasn't too impressed. I felt I could have made a tastier appetizer at home myself. I had the beef flautas that comes with rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. The flautas were all flat and not round like they normally are. I honestly think they ought to name them "flat-tas"!! Our server was friendly, but it seemed like he was working hard at getting a good tip. Just a bit over-the-top with friendliness, but I suppose it could have been worse. Not the best Messican food I've ever had, but my wife loves it, so I'm sure we'll return.

I'm not sure what the bad press is about. We had a party of 6, we were seated right away. Kyle was our server and he was attentive and fantastic! Food was just like all the numerous Dallas locations that I grew up on....comforting, hot, and came quickly! Kevin, the GM, came by the table 3 or 4 times to personally check on us.....all in all, great experience on a very busy Saturday show night. Will definitely be back!

I've been to several El Fenix locations in Dallas and have always been satisfied. While I was at the casino in Oklahoma, I noticed they had opened a location inside the casino. I got very excited and HAD to check it out. It was set up nice and clean. However, the food was HORRIBLE. I ordered enchiladas and the tortillas were VERY tough. I ended up wasting it. The salsa is good, but the portion they bring out is offensive. They brought out a small cup of salsa that only allowed for 3 dips with small chips. The prices are good, but the food is not fresh and actually disgusting. I will say again that the salsa is really good, but they are very skimpy with it.

The best and most unique tasting chips I have ever had and being a lover of Mexican cuisine that says a lot! The chips and salsa come with the meal and they bag you up a to go bag of chips and cup of salsa. You do have to buy the queso which we had a coupon so it was free. We were glad it was free because it was very plain! Service was good, place was nice but you can dress casual. I had cheesy enchiladas and my husband had chicken chimichangas, both were as good as expected. Sopapillas are also an extra charge. Overall, really enjoyed the place!

Solid El Fenix visit for lunch. Chips were as wonderful as alway. Service was great, restaurant clean. Best part about the visit...El Fenix is IN Oklahoma!!!!

Chips & Salsa were good. The portions seem smaller than other Mexican restaurants. Sampled the enchiladas which were just OK. The beef crispy taco was delish. I admit I was disappointed that there were no refried beans on the dinner platter. Overall was just OK.

I'm really surprised to see so many negative reviews for this El Fenix. My experience was great, and it mirrored exactly what I usually see in my Dallas El Fenix locations. I was greeted promptly by a friendly hostess, seated right away, and had chips and salsa at my table within 2 minutes. I ordered my lunch, and it arrived in 5 minutes. I had the soup and salad combo with a margarita. All were great. The bartender and wait staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews on here for this location. My experience was positive, and I'd come back anytime.

We eat at the local El Fenix in Plano all the time, the food and service is always good. We ate at this location on Dec. 29th. What a HUGE disappointment! The hostess was RUDE, and made everyone wait for 40 min. to be seated in a restaurant that was only 1/3 full. The wait staff did not seem to know what they were doing. I asked our server why we had to wait so long to be seated, She told me that they only seat people every 35 to 40 min. because the kitchen gets backed up. That is CRAZY!! I saw several people walk way and go somewhere else to eat in the casino. I will never eat there again.

Worst Mexican food ever! We had our doubts about this place when we saw the menu. Choices were not good but food was worse. Wait staff was nice but that is about all. We ordered something that should have been Mexican food but it did not come out that way. We had to go through the smoky casino so that did not help our experience.

Yummy! When all hope was lost that we were in a smoke filled casino. We saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Sweet, there's a El Fenix at Winstar. WOOHOO! The food was the same just like in Mckinney. We were very pleased to get in a good meal before seeing a concert in the casino.

Don't come here unless you want to wait. They made us wait 45 minutes to sit in a restaurant that is half empty. Even after sitting down we waited an additional 40 minutes to get served chips and salsa. Right now I'm watching two parties of two people each wait for a seat even though there are five separate tables set waiting for people. I don't know if it's a gambit that they won't seat people without waiting 30+ minutes but I suggest you just don't bother with this place.

Went by El Fenix for dinner tonight after seeing a show at Winstar. The strawberry margaritas were ok but didn't seem to have any alcohol in them. The hostesses were very efficient setting guests. I had to walk up to the stand and ask how much longer and found that our names had been scratched out. I asked if they called our name because we had been sitting at the bar the entire time and they were like oh, we just now called it. Really because there were three other names after us crossed off. Once we were seated our server Jenn gave us good service. The kitchen screwed up our order but the manager apologized. One of the people at our table ordered a shot of tequila and they brought a $15 shot and we were like, what the h? The manager ended up charging her for just a shot of Jose but not until we said something. Kinda crazy. I guess it's about what we expected from a chain restaurant but a little disappointed. Could have been so much better.

I've eaten there on two occasions, about six months apart. The food was good and our waiter was very attentive. We make it a point to go there now. Not sure why some of the negatives are here, but we have been pleased.

I planned a 'Hangover Lunch' here on January 1st for a group of Adam Lambert fans in town for his show at Winstar on New Year's Eve. The manager was very helpful and made the reservation for me months in advance over the phone with no deposit required. When we arrived today they had our room ready for us and people were able to be seated and place their orders right away. We wound up with around 35 people coming but not all at the same time so the room we were put in was perfect for our lunch. The waiters and staff were all nice and efficient and most orders came out quickly. Everyone had a great time. If this site allowed 1/2 stars I would bump this down to 4 1/2 due to my food not being very hot but if I'm being fair I was up and mingling around talking to people quite a bit so the fact that my food wasn't piping hot when I started eating it may have been more my fault than the restaurant staffs. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting quick and authentic Mexican 'Tex-Mex' food. The free chips and salsa were fabulous too.

This has to be the worst restaurant meal I have had in a very long time. We were staying the night at Winstar as a weekend birthday getaway. We decided we replied hit up the buffet at Winstar the next day for brunch & choose El Fenix for dinner the night before. First we sat for about 15 minutes at our table watching several servers pass us by repeatedly. One even kept walking after we tried to get their attention. I literally felt invisible!! Finally this Um...... Woman came by & just as trashy as possible said so whatcha wanna drank? Huh wow she was special to say the least. Anyways she took the "drank" order but seemed confused as to the beer my boyfriend wanted & sent someone else out. This apparently was our actual waitress. She was very unlike the first um..... woman and was very sweet & extremely apologetic & said they had added this table to her section & had not told her. She explained how her tables were spread throughout the restaurant which made no sense & I see how it could be confusing. We finally got out drinks & ordered. I had the brisket tacos & he had the chicken fajitas. The waitress explained the chicken fajitas lunch portion was very small & recommended the full size portion. Our food came & wow I was really taken back at how small the portions of both the full sized chicken fajitas were as well as the brisket tacos. The 3 tacos were the size of a typical order of tacos el carbon if not smaller. They had basically zero meat or toppings & the side items like the rice were about 4 bites at the most. The beans were completely blan. I am not used to Mexican food with this lack of flavor or portion sizes. Also I really did not like the chips. I left really regretting our dinner choice especially since we were there for such a special occasion. I hadn't made it to El Fenix since living in Dallas but I guarantee I won't be visiting any El Fenix anytime soon. Yeah it was just bad....

Always enjoy this place-- those chips are so thin and addicting! This is surprisingly good food for any casino-- and it is reasonably priced, too. If I am going to eat while at Winstar, El Fenix wins hands down.

It had been many years since I had last visited an El Fenix restaurant. I recall it being good, but never considered it great and did not have any expectations for this location. I ordered the chili relleno and it was simply outstanding. The chips/salsa were also good as well. This place shattered all of my expectations and is definitely the best restaurant at Winstar World Casino.

Very blah. Good was marginal. Service not good at all. Messed up our drink orders after it literally took forever to get them. No chips no chips no chips. It's a low level food chain in a casino environment.

The best ever!! Hands down. I have been eating for 20 years and has not changed.
