Been here for lunch three times now...always fresh and filling. Great, friendly service. Although it's a bar and grill, it's very clean and pleasant. The place has always been busy though, so go early!

My grandmother used to say, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." After one horrible experience at Louie's, I ventured back for a second attempt, in hopes the first time was just an isolated event. Yep, shame on me. The first time I went, I ordered loaded mac and cheese, with no bacon. The no bacon thing isn't just a preference - I am Jewish so I do NOT eat bacon. Meal comes out, there's no bacon in sight, so I dig in, and then, the taste of meat in my mouth. I spit it out - sure enough, bacon. When our waitress finally came to check on us, I politely told her my meal had bacon though I requested it without. She proceeded to tell me that she wrote no bacon on the order and that it wasn't her fault. Okay, be that as it may, can I please just have some mac and cheese without bacon? Twenty-five minutes later, I finally get another plate of (cold) mac and cheese with no bacon, but also no offer of a discount and no apology. The second time I visited Louie's, I made certain to order something that did not have bacon so I wouldn't even have to request leaving it off. I ordered just a regular old hamburger, lettuce, pickle, tomato, onion-all fine. When our food arrived, they brought me the wrong burger altogether, which did have bacon on it (though fortunately this time I caught it before diving in). I sent it back, and same scenario as before: our server was rude, my food finally came after a long wait, and it was barely lukewarm. I could deal with the mix-ups on the orders if that was the extent of it. Mistakes happen, and it's not a big deal. But the service was horrible, and I will never go back.

I loved this little bar and grill spot. The food is reasonably priced, the service was very good. The chicken tender wrap was very good. I prefer thick fries but the thin ones were hot and fresh. $4 for a beer on tap, not bad. The frito chili pie (not what it was called....) was ok, probably wouldn't have that again.

We had a very nice lunch. Mrs Eva had a burger and fantastic sweet potato fries. I had the supreme pizza. The crust was excellent and the toppings delicious. Our service was good, but we had 3 different servers and didn't know exactly who was in charge of our table. A nice trendy place that we will enjoy again.

We've been here several times and enjoyed everything we ordered. The service is excellent. The food is all sports-bar-type food, but done extremely well.

Wanted to give this place a try as Joes had an hour wait, again. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door! The servers were on top on us getting our drink and apps order. Remember this is a bar in a college town so the noise level is on the high side. Fried green beans were really good! The food took a long time to come out. To be fair they just got slammed with the lunch rush and tables were clearing out as we sat and waited. Empty apps were cleared and we waited some more. Around 30 mins after apps the food did come out. It was all correct... good, just not great. We will give them another try sometime. Chalk this visit up to a busy kitchen staff needing a second wind.

2.5 stars actually. The service was great, the place is clean, but you could barely serve a cheaper version of a turkey sandwich. Picture? Because I took a picture. My $8 plate has about a 90 cent food cost. Good quality for a cafeteria. The bartender is cute.

Great place for an easy uncomplicated meal. We love the fried pickles, the generous drinks are great and we are fans of the beef nachos for takeout!

Louie's has great food and great atmosphere! Was very busy when I went there, but it didn't take long for them to have my food out to me. If your looking for a fun place with good food then this is your place.

Louie's has a lot going for it. The best Downtown Stillwater hangout.

Our favorite Stillwater restaurant. Great place for unique salads, pizzas and burgers. Mustang on tap is a big plus. (Nothing beats a Mustang Route 66 to go with the Big Lou burger!) Manager usually stops by the table to see how our meal and service is. Good for groups of 4-6 or just a casual dinner for two on one of their hi-tops. They have a few tables for groups of 8-10 but no more than two groups could be seated at once. Oh, sports in TVs...Not over powering but you can keep up with a game if interested.

Friendly staff but not a great food selection. I feel like there are very few items to choose from and the portions are very small. Also there is not enough space around the tables. I always feel very crammed regardless of where we sit

Went to Louie's for after dinner drinks and to hang out with some people from OSU. We went to Eskimo Joe's first but it was ridiculously busy being grad weekend. It was also a VERY young crowd hanging out there. I know it's probably sacrilegious to people from Stillwater but Eskimo Joes seems like a two story version of a Red Robin restaurant (sorry, don't shoot me). I was pleased to be offered a different option. Louie's fit the bill. Nice, older crowd. Still active but not so loud that we couldn't talk. Drinks were good, service was nice, atmosphere casual and comfortable. Can't wait for my next visit.

I've noticed something about Stillwater restaurants - they aren't super keen on students. Sometimes I feel like getting out of my house to do my reading, and I don't always want to go to a coffee shop to do that. I stopped in Louie's to have a beer, some food, and do a little reading. I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and attentive my waitress was, even with a book in front of me. She wasn't pushy or rude when I sat by myself, and she also didn't avoid me since I was alone. Her service alone was good enough to make me come back. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly, and seemed to really enjoy working there. I like the open seating, there's a really nice beer selection, and it isn't too loud around 6 or 7 pm. Since I was reading, it would have been nice if the lights had been brighter, but hey... That's not really what Louie's is for. I give this place 4 stars, not 5, because there aren't many vegetarian options on the menu. That said, they're more than happy to take meat off of any salad or offer any recommendations if you're torn about what to pick. I had the Asian salad, minus the chicken, and was pretty happy with the overall meal. It was a large salad, the dressing was really good, and the ingredients were pretty fresh. I won't argue with all that for $8.

Love Louie's! They have really solid American classics, and great shot specials. The atmosphere here is cool too, and a nice change of scenery from campus.

Although the name indicates "Grill and Bar", the atmosphere during lunch enabled all groups of people to enjoy their meal, even families. Arriving during a busy lunch time we were able to quickly be seated at a high-top table. Service was very efficient throughout the meal with drink refills happening on a regular basis. The Reuben sandwich was huge, very flavorful, and was able to be split between two people. The southwest chicken wrap was loaded with chicken and filling and had a nice heat/spice which didn't overpower the wrap. While the noise level was higher than most places we stop, we were still able to have a good conversation.

I love Louie's! I used to live really close and it became my neighborhood bar and restaurant. The service is always great. The food is always good and the drinks are always refreshing. Sometimes there is a little wait because the place is pretty small but if you can find a place at the bar (if you are old enough) you are sure to be pleased.

I went to Louie's with a rather large group of friends after an OSU game. We knew restaurants would be busy and expected a wait, even splitting our group into smaller tables. When we got to Louie's they said the wait would be 30-45 minutes. Knowing how crowded everything would be, we thought that wait time wasn't bad and proceeded to wait until our party was called. 30 minutes later we checked with the hostess to see where we were on the list. At this point, she told us that it'd be probably 30 minutes. When we told her we were originally told a 30 minute wait 30 minutes ago she apologized and said it was the restaurants policy to not tell customers a wait time of any longer than 30 minutes. Obviously we were upset. We didn't have a problem with the wait time, but did not appreciate being blatantly lied to because "it's the restaurant's policy." We spoke to a manager who apologized and offered us free queso once our table was ready, but at that point others in our group had already discovered the bar next door, Finnegans, allowed you to bring food in, so we opted to just get to-go and eat it there instead. The food itself was delicious and I rally enjoyed the pizza I ordered. I would just caution anyone who is told it's only 30 minute wait. If you're wanting drinks after dinner anyway, I highly suggest just getting Louie's to-go and taking it next door to eat and drink.

You know, as much as I want to hate this place (and everything else in Stillwater) - it really wasn't that bad. I had their "American Cheeseburger" veggie burger and it was great. Huge portions, somewhat reasonably priced (well, for the size at least), and pretty well spiced compared to your standard veggie burger. Comes with a side of shoestring fries, which I wasn't crazy about. Kind of tasted like frozen fries from the grocery store or something. Sort of soggy/not crispy or cooked all the way. Had the Fried Pickles appetizer and they were great. Probably not THE BEST fried pickles I've had, but the sauce was really good. Like a spicy aioli type thing? I saved as much of the sauce as possible to put on my burger and fries. Just in case anyone from Stillwater that hasn't been there sees this, just to make it clear - it is NOT a vegetarian place. Pretty typical sports bar and grill type thing, so don't be frightened off because I got a vegetarian option.

This place is great! Get the fried green beans and the Big Lou. I only give it 4 stars because my gf had the chili and it tasted like frozen chili that you microwave. But the Big Lou is delish!

Got a Santa Fe salad without meat. Really spicy dressing but fresh and delicious salad. Ready for pick-up in 15 minutes and super friendly waitstaff. Great experience at Louies tonight!

First time visit to Louie's. Not our last as long as we are visiting son who attends OSU! Wandered in and were greeted immediately and told we could sit wherever we pleased. Bubbly and oh so nice Sierra, our server, approached promptly and took our orders. Throughout the meal, she was attentive, knowing exactly when drinks needed to be refilled or ordered. Selected the fried pickles as an appetizer. I think I've had better but........they were good and the sauce definitely made it worth ordering them. Service was stellar and I just plain liked the atmosphere of the place.

We like Louie's. Everytime we have been in the service was great and the food was good. Keep it mind it is bar food people...that being said I haven't ate anything bad at Louie's since I've been there. The bartender who mixed our drinks did an awesome job and for that part alone I will return. Louie's employees college kids, most of them are friendly and good at what they do, but there are a few who are there to get their paychecks and get the heck out. I was in college once, I understand that attitude. I'm not sure Louie's is a place you would want to take kids at it tends to get a little loud and busy at times, but if you choose to do so knock yourself out.
