Surprisingly good and a pleasant alternative to the chain choices on the highway. Good salsa and that is always a top off for the rest of the meal. We are from Texas so you can rely on this review.

Looking for some non-fast food/chain options in Pryor when we stumbled across Maggie's Mexican Kitchen. We made a great choice! Went for a late lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was not crowded but had a pretty good crowd for that late in the afternoon. We were greeted and seated by a very friendly hostess/waitress, and were served by an equally friendly and efficient waitress. My wife got the chicken chimichanga and it was very good. I asked the waitress for her suggestion, and she recommended their special bowl (sorry, can't remember the name), and she was spot on! It included rice, queso, carne asada, peppers and onions. Very good. I travel to Pryor a few times a year on business, and will definitely bring folks with me when I return. Oh! Also, the waitress offered to-go cups for our drinks as we were leaving, always welcome on a hot Oklahoma day..

we had a group of 7 go for lunch. started out with chips, salsa and guacamole. all was good but not especially outstanding. I had the beef taco crispy- the shell was too thick and chewy, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. wish I had the queso sauce on my enchilada instead of the red sauce, my daughter-in-law said the queso sauce was good. overall everyone liked their food ok, said it was average. the servers were friendly. wish they had margaritas.

"Not vegetarian friendly. Asked on phone for kind of shortening they used in beans and got very generic answer. Not one to pass up a possible good meal I kept repeating question in different ways.Cook finished up by telling me if I wanted true vegetarian meal I should find another place to eat -- which I did. 4 stars for being honest. I will give you back your missing star if you come up with some vegetarian beans!

One of the best Mexican places in town. The service is fast and friendly, the food is excellent and the environment is intimate. It's just a little hole in the wall- Pryor's best kept secret! It's not your destination for a nice evening date, but if good food is the goal, you're at the right place.

Love taking out of town guests here! Food is always fresh and delish. The complimentary salsa and chips are great. My fav is the chile relleno , huge peppers and crispy coating. Thumbs up!! It's well worth the drive from Tulsa to this quaint little restaurant tucked away in Pryor!!

Food is great. Salsa is very good. Service was so-so. Management was rude. They wanted to charge 50 cents for a small container (6-8 slices) of jalepenos. They also want almost a dollar for extra cheese. We finally got fed up with the nickel and dime and stopped going there. Their Mexican coffee was sure good though.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
