the place was ok. i was not that impressed, but it was good. i don't remember what i got, but it was good. the fries i got were good, nice and crispy. not much else to say, if you're passing by like we were go ahead and stop, there isn't much else in guymon, or oklahoma for that matter., but don't go out of your way.

When I first arrived in Guymon in May I stumbled upon this place. I saw their sign for their famous "green chile chicken fried steak" and I thought it sounded interesting. I was actually excited to eat something crispy and spicy at the same time. I was served chips that tasted stale and salsa that resembled a puréed tomato. The salsa was bland. My chicken fried steak looked like it was a Hungry Man microwaved dinner and was not crispy at all. It was covered by a watery green chile sauce and was not spicy. I'm not one for wasting food but I couldn't get myself to finish my meal. I was very disappointed with a dish they claimed to be famous for and I didn't come back to give them a second chance.

After driving five hours and saw this place with a sign outside advertising green chile chicken fries steak we decided to try it. I expected a real chicken fried steak, not a frozen ground stamped out breaded patty. So needless to say I am leaving disappointed.

"Big Mistake!!! Drive on by." Saw the sign for the Green Chili Chicken Fry and decided to stop in. Hard to beat good green chili... Being so close to New Mexico and southern Colorado I figured it was GREEN CHILI. WRONG!!!! I'm pretty sure it was just the canned green slime enchilada sauce available at any supermarket. If the chicken fry was hand-breaded it was done in some food processing plant. It had the taste And appearance of chopped and formed frozen patty. It was about the size of a frozen hamburger party. To top it all off, it only stayed with me for about 25 minutes, which is always a pleasant experience. Absolutely terrible.

Not too bad for a small town cafe. We had Mexican food and waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Server was friendly and place was reasonably clean.

Worst green chili ever! Watered down and no flavor. Inedible burrito. We were starving and couldn't eat our meals it was so gross! The worst part was when I was walking out (I parked behind the restaurant) the cook let his dogs out to go to the bathroom and brought them back into the restaurant in the rear door!! DISGUSTING!!!

Maybe it was because we had been in Santa Fe a few days previously, but did everything at Marla's come out of a tin can???? I've had better chile verde sauce that I bought at Costco. The food filled an empty tummy if you were really hungry.

Did lunch here on our road trip to Cali. Margaritas were yummy, not watered down, had the chicken fajita quesidilla, fiancé had the smothered chicken burrito and enjoyed it. Place was clean, servers friendly. Nice surprise for little Guymon.

By the time I had my food, it was a bit cold and stale. This, however, was not the restaurant's fault. Marla's had the unfortunate luck of being smack dab in the middle of a very tiring 2 month road trip my boyfriend and I had embarked on across America. We pulled in after a very tense morning, which you tend to have a few of after spending 24 hours a day together in a tiny tent and hatchback. I ordered their signature dish, chicken fried steak with chili verde sauce, and my boyfriend had the southwestern chicken. We shared chips and dip. About 5 chips in, the tension snapped and I ended up driving off, leaving him there before the food came. Once I had blown off some steam, I came back, and despite the fact we had been rude jerks, Marla's staff was more than happy to let us have our food. We opted to enjoy the nice day and went out to the balcony where we ate and made up. We tipped as best as two broke people on the road can. The food was meh... Couldn't really taste the verde sauce which was disappointing, and the chips were hard and bland. It was basically typical diner fare, but then again maybe it's all a lot tastier when it first comes out of the kitchen. The southwestern chicken was better than their signature dish, but it still wasn't phenomenal. ***NOTE: Don't eat outside, even if the balcony looks cute. Guymon is very, very close to Kansas. And what's in Kansas? Lots and lots of cows. And what comes with cows? Lots and lots of... you get the idea***
