Great service and great food! The chicken tortilla soup was delish, and was a huge bowl for a very reasonable price. My boyfriend got the spinach enchiladas. So much spinach! My cousin got the white queso! So. Good.

From the outside it doesn't look like much but this place is fantastic! It was packed for being 2:00 in the afternoon and I understand why. We were seated quickly, our order was taken fast, the food was served hot. And delicious! The steak was phenomenal! The staff are friendly, the atmosphere was your typical Mexican restaurant. I left there full and satisfied.

The food is just ok. The tap waster is horrible. They don't sell bottled water. I don't know if it is Guthrie or this place. Excellent service. Pleasant people.

Good food, good service, great prices! My wife and I have been eating here at least once a week for the past couple of years, and we've never had a bad experience!

Dad wanted to go here and I'm glad he did. The beers with fresh lime and salt on edges was a nice touch I had not seen or tasted before. The chips and little bowls of cheese and salsa were tasty and the portions huge. Highly recommend their chicken enchilada and beef taco combo. Dad liked the chicken quesadilla a meal in itself. Friendly and prompt service. Decor average but clean.

I had the Deloera and a strawberry margarita. I must say, those two items were quite tasty, as was the salsa that came before the meal. Unfortunately, the chips were stale, the queso (while free) was lumpy and tasteless. The worst part was the flies! I had to keep batting them away through the entire meal - gross! This review would easily be four starts if not for the flies. The service was prompt and courteous and the price was good. I was pleasantly surprised. Just get rid of the flies...

Food options in Guthrie are limited, as I discovered when I had to stay overnight for business. Luckily, El Rodeo was open for business. El Rodeo is off I-35 in a brick building attached to the back of a Shell gas station...not exactly an appealing location. But the aroma of good Mexican food made me overlook the gas pumps out front. The menu is full of all the usual Tex-Mex favorites. The waiters were friendly and prompt with the hot chips and salsa. The salsa was spicy, not with jalapeno, but with a red chili. It was good. I had cheese and jalapeño nachos and two crispy beef tacos. Both dishes were very good. The beef was seasoned just right. I ordered a margarita that seemed to contain very little alcohol. It tasted like it came from the Slurpee machine in the gas station. The cold beer in frozen goblets looked like a better option. El Rodeo is a good choice if you're looking for good Tex-Mex north of the Red River.

We like El Rodeo's. Be sure to ask for the special salsa, but be warned sometimes it can get a little spicy. Our drink of choice is Tecate with salt and lime, but they serve all kinds of stuff. The food is good!!

Had dinner there tonight. From KCMO where there is great Mexican food. This place is okay. They give you some mild but very tasty cheese sauce with chips. I got a chicken quesadilla and it was really a soft chicken taco. The place was really busy with locals.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
