Us: family of 5, 3 kids under 10. We were a bit apprehensive to go since the reviews here on Yelp were fairly negative, but since we were staying at the hotel just across the parkinglot we decided to give it a try all the same. And I am glad we did. Setting: 3 stars. Waitress - Diedra - 5 stars. Friendly, knowledgable, fast, got everything 100% right and was always there if we needed her but without hovering. Food: 4/5 stars. Ribeye was wonderful. Mashed potatoes were a little too peppery for me but my husband loved them. Kids grilled cheese and cheeseburger were good. We asked for extra bread rolls and we're not charged for them. All in all a positive experience.

Ate there on May 24th. We love the stuffed mushrooms so ordered those. Unfortunately those items were the only good things we had that night. My steak was overdone and had no flavor. My wife's steak was inedible and kids steak was tough. When we complained we just go a "Cooks new" excuse and a shrug. I could cook a better steak with half of the money I paid for my dish. I wish that was the end of it but my wife got sick until she dry heaved that night. I used to recommend Montana Mike's to others but now I will stay away and warn others to do the same.

Ask for Shannon--Her service was great. We were seated promptly, thereafter greeted warmly by manager who offered kind words about our young daughter. Starter: boneless wings, buffalo sauce-- average. Caesar salad was freshly prepared, couldn't tell if dressing was homemade. My smothered chicken entree was very salty. Candied apples were pretty good. Wife's ribs were decent. Sweet potato fries, though perhaps handcut, were a little soft/ underdone. Would consider returning if i pass this way again soon. Full bar.

We went an hour before they closed. When we walked in the hostess waited several minutes before she looked up and greeted us. Took about 10 minutes before they took our drink order. The steak was over cooked and the waitress was going to get another steak that was cooked right, but she forgot to come back!!! The Buffalo chicken salad was good. The service was soooo bad, but the manager type person came over and apologized and was real nice. They really need to work on customer service. We would try it again.

Had Montana mike's topper with sautéed mushrooms. Excellent meal. My wife had teriyaki chicken and it to was excellent. Place was packed on a Sunday night and all seemed to enjoy the food. Many groups had families. Good job!

    Kebabs are the way to go IMHO. Mike's is overall alright, so long as it's not your only choice for an entire week. Steer clear of the appetizers or at least chase them with liquor - IT'S THE ONLY ANTIDOTE. Caesar salad is tasty if you don't mind consuming a week's worth of sodium in one dish. On a side note my credit card number was stolen from this place! Someone was saving card numbers apparently - WTF?? Luckily Wells Fargo saw suspicious activity and sent me a new card before I was aware of the debacle! wells_fargo_street_cred ++;

Ugh. The lettuce was brown in my salad and the chicken breast overcooked. The bread was fluffy and cheap. My soda tasted...greasy. The oil and vinegar dispensers were filthy. The fried potatoes and okra were okay because they were obviously frozen food service goods, so they were deep fried okay. There aren't many choices in this town, especially on a Monday.

Food was good and fast and friendly service but bathrooms smell like sewer due to the open drain in the floor. Would recommend but just don't go in the bathroom.

Kind of disappointed by this place. We are "out-of-towners" and stopped by to grab a bite. By the reviews and pics people have posted I thought we would have a good experience. FIRST when we were being seated, the hostess was going to put us in the smallest table near the bathroom/bar area...and when I asked if we can get a different table not by the bathroom, she had a rude attitude and made it seem like I was Asking for her to rub my feet. After the dirty looks she sat us somewhere different. SECOND. I had ordered a small mug of beer and it took about 15 minutes after the initial drink order for it to come to the table. LASTLY. Once our food came. IT WAS COLD. So I didn't waste my breath or waste my time complaining. But if your looking for somewhere pleasant and great service GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! If I could Zero Stars I would.

Passing through Clinton for a business trip. The food was flavorless and the food poisoning symptoms a couple of hours later where amazing. I'm in town another night and with limited options I would rather drive 30 minutes away than risk this one again.

Steaks are wonderful. I had the top the top sirloin. This is the only restaurant that I eat a steak. Its worth the money to get a good steak. You may have to wait in line, but well worth it.

I was in Clinton for a funeral and wanted a local steakhouse to eat at with my friends. This place was disappointing from start to finish. Spinach artichoke dip was ice cold, my friends martini was disgusting and they even tried to remake it but it was still bad and had ice floating in it. The owner was trying to defend the bartender when we brought it up and they just offered to remake it but my friend was already done eating by that point. Another manager tried to remake the drink too! How about taking the drink off the bill bc it was undrinkable? Then it took 20 minutes to finally get our bill right. Don't waste your time or money!

Six of us in our group. Of our meals, fish was tough and dry, Chicken Fry was flavorless, Filet (8oz.) was less that 8, over done (not sure how you would Med Rare a steak that thin) and had an off flavor. Ground Sir Loin was Edible & prime rib was not bad. Concerns were poorly handled by management. This concept is owned by Sirloin Stockade and the quality shows it.

Eh....2.5 stars maybe. I was exhausted and so hungry I could have eaten a sandwich from a gas station when I got to Montana Mike's so maybe my judgment is suspect. Maybe it should be 2 stars. I'll just break it down. Service was ok. After I got my entrée a chef type person came around and asked me if the steak was cooked to my liking. When I mentioned I hadn't cut into it yet, he said he'd be back to check on me. He never did. BUT the steak kabob was a pretty good value on the menu at $9.99. It was sirloin, cooked perfectly, with grilled onions and red bell peppers. The kabob itself was tasty. The side was sweet potato fries & I could tell they were a good quality fry, but were undercooked, soggy, and tasted like they got too close to some shrimp juice. Yuck. The ice cold Shiner Bock was perfection. I ordered the blue sky margarita for dessert and it looked good. Tasted bad. Tasted like nothing but sour mix. I let that one go. Yeah. I think it's 2 stars.

I live in Clinton so this is the only place I'm stuck with eating at. For people driving through, just don't even risk it. I could go on and on about my steak never being cooked right (at a steakhouse), but I won't. I've pretty much just stuck with getting chicken strips which aren't too terrible. The other night I tried calling to order because I hadn't had it in awhile and thought maybe they improved. Well I called 10+ times in an hour and nobody ever answered the phone! Just don't eat here.

I'm honestly surprised that a chain can be this bad. The service was amateur hour, to be sure, but that wasn't the real issue. No, the real problem was the food. I ordered the filet. It may have been cooked in a microwave. A large, gray hunk of meat with a strangely juiceless pink center. It tasted like it had been flavor enhanced. Rubbery. Awful. The salad was airplane quality - straight out of the fridge, cold, old. I sent back the green beans. They were mushy and rancid. The steamed broccoli they sent back was swimming in a bowl of butter. My dad's burger looked like a hell ride also, a pile of misshapen ground beef he ended up eating with a fork. For this pleasure? The filet is $26. Twenty six freaking dollars. The only reason that I'm giving this two stars instead of one is because our server tried to make things right, but sadly, the deck is stacked against us all at this place.

I joined Yelp just to write a review on this restaurant. A co-worker and I were on our way back to OKC from Western Oklahoma and needed to stop for dinner. We decided to give Montana Mike's a try because it was near the interstate and looked like a nice place. I had no idea we were in for such a treat. First of all, service was fantastic. They brewed fresh iced tea for us and made sure we never ran dry. Our first course was the salad...I hate salad, but I am trying to eat healthier and if that means eating a salad instead of another side, then so be it. This salad did use iceberg lettuce, which I hate most of all, but the salad did not contain any of those white chunks a lot of restaurants throw in. This was all leaves and the croutons were delicious. Then my steak came. I had ordered a "Montana Mike" favorite...the Ancho Pepper Crusted Sirloin. This was the best dining decision I have made in ages. I ordered it medium, which is how everyone should order a steak. So many restaurants always give me my "medium" steak on the rare side. This was grilled to perfection. It was pink, not bloody through and through. The flavor was so exquisite I couldn't bear to use steak sauce. It was melt-in-your mouth steak. I would rank this as one of the best steak's I have ever eaten and I am a bit of a steakhouse connoisseur. This ranks up there with a steak I got from Mickey Mantle's in OKC...but was much less expensive. From the time we walked in the door this was a remarkable dining experience. I would not hesitate to go back.

As most people said, the service is the worst part of this experience. The bartender was my server and she barely interacted with the customers. The manager at the time, however, was a beast! He was definitely running his floor and checking on his employees. He took care of me when the bartender failed to get my drink order. The cooks definitely know what they are doing though. Everything prepared from the kitchen was delicious. The roll was hard and definitely old - kitchen prep needed to check their warmer for time.

During a weekend visit with the kids to the Water Zoo, decided to try this place for dinner. It was a terrible experience. My salad looked like it came straight out of a bag. My husband ordered a Caesar salad and it had entirely too much dressing on it. My husband had to ask for his beer twice after ordering before it came. The waitress didn't write down anything we ordered and we had to tell her twice because she couldn't repeat our order back. When the food did come, my steak was tiny, way overcooked and missing the blue cheese and bacon topping. My husband's prime rib was ok, but definitely not worth $20. His baked potato was not cooked through. The kids' cheeseburgers were mostly bread with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese, and an over cooked hamburger patty the size of a slice of breakfast sausage. The fries tasted like old oil. The only thing appetizing was my fried okra and the rolls. Extremely disappointing to say the least.

Very poor hospitality and we arrived at 8:50 pm and they turned us away with plenty of customers... Maybe if they got manners and treated people better their business would have long term success. Don't see it with this type of service. The hostess couldn't see through his blk hair or talk clear...

I like the fact that Sophia C answers the reviews that are not the greatest. It means they are paying attention at Montana Mikes (MM). I have eaten here twice so thought it was time for a review. Not much on the witty side today, I'm tired. The rain probably has something to do with it. I will go into a little detail because MM has more than a few bad reviews, bad reviews that I don't get. I mean I get them, the people were not happy with the food and service. But I have eaten here twice and both times were perfect. Some of my family members have also eaten here numerous times and loved it. They do not yelp so, I will yelp for them! In any case, this time I had the filet and my wife had the shrimp and sirloin. As with the last time we ate here my steak was perfect, medium, crusted not to much salt, hot etc. Baked Potato loaded was perfect salad was ok I mean it's a dinner salad what do you want. It had fresh ingredients and the blue cheese dressing was very good, not Walmart, so, great. My wonderful wife loved her steak also cooked perfectly, the shrimp was cooked perfectly but the spice on it, some kind of Cajun flavor did not match the rest of the meal. The meal was steak and taters, then you throw in a Cajun heavily spiced shrimp and it just did not work. That's not to say the shrimp was not cooked perfectly, it was. Not rubbery and not undercooked, it was warm and perfect. We just didn't think it worked with the rest of the plate. The service was great, drinks are large and they always keep your glass updated. I say updated because they don't fill your glass they just bring you a new full one. Ambiance....don't really care about that much. I like the building but I do not like all the crap hanging off the walls but that does not really matter I came for the food and the food was great! Bar. Neither my wonderful wife nor I drink alcohol so I have no feedback on that. 5 as good as it gets all categories taken into account ...well no. I mean my steak and food was a 5 but overall it's a 4. Seriously, I have had filet minion at some of the finest restaurants on both coasts and this was right there with them. I even got to meet the chef as he was getting off duty when we were leaving. I shook his hand and told him he has a talent. It is not easy to cook a steak perfectly every time 200 times a day , day after day. I know cause I used to do just that. Great food, great service... hard to find in Oklahoma. We will be back! (Note to Sophia, work on that shrimp spice a little and give that chef a raise...we were there Saturday around 4 o'clock in the PM thanks.)

Very hit or miss. Sometimes it's good, alot if times it's not. I've been there alot and more than half the time my steak is not done right. The steak itself is flavorless. Kinda sucks because it's pretty much the only place in Clinton to get a big steak and a beer.

Stayed in the Hampton Inn across the street so walked over for dinner. Waited 10 min in the bar for our table & bartender never acknowledged us. Ordered our meal & 2 beers and it took another 10 min to get our drinks. The food was poor quality and everything had way too much salt on it. This place needs a new manager, bartender and cooks. Would not recommend.

Don't waste your time. They had potential with the design and theme of the overall restaurant but that hardly makes up for the service and sub par food. The servers obviously hate their job and the food was barely cooked.

My son Loved his Cheese fries & Grilled Cheese! The Fried Mushrooms & Zucchini were really good too. My Chicken Fried Steak was Very Average...I preferred the appetizers over the entree. Our Waitress was new but the GM was keeping a close eye on her & was very kind & helpful. We would go back!

Walked across the street to this restaurant from the Hampton Inn. Sat at the bar and immediately regretted my decision based on the fact that they only have two 19'' tv's without HD above the bar! The tv in my hotel room was twice the size! Had a salad and a couple bud lights. Salad was really weak with cheap lettuce and tons of filler. Beer on tap with ice cold mugs was the only redeeming quality about this place.

Just horrible. From the service to the food. Small portions and the food is subpar. I think it's mostly just bc people in this area don't have anywhere else to go is why it's still open.

  • Adeline E.

It's like bad knock off of a good restaurant. The food tastes very "from freezer to deep fryer". I have yet to ever eat here a feel glad about it afterward. The only positive thing is they have decent booze. Oh and the service is always really weird. The owner brings in lots of foreigners to work for cheap.

I walked into Montana Mike's expecting the worst based on the Yelp and Google reviews. Maybe that served to temper my expectations a bit; if you prepare for the unbearable, Montana's will certainly be a pleasant surprise. First of all, if you're staying in Clinton, you really don't have much to choose from. If you're staying at the Hampton or the Ramada then you will find Montana's to be a quick walk across the lot, and that's probably all the effort you will want to give short of a long drive to Oklahoma City (neighboring Elk City is similar in terms of quality and quantity of offerings to Clinton). As for the food - the salad was cafeteria grade, the french fries were rather mediocre, and my beer was tinged with whatever cleaning agent was used on the glass. But then the steak arrived and I was actually happy. It was cooked a decent medium rare and coated with enough spices to give it some taste. Basically, it was on par with any big-chain steakhouse (think Outback or Texas Roadhouse). I've only been here once so I can't speak to consistency, but for my one visit (so far - I'm here for a full week), it was perfectly satisfactory. One note about the wait staff - I ate at the bar area and was very happy with the attentiveness and service from folks there. No complains whatsoever. So if you're a road warrior like me and you find yourself in Clinton for the night, you can certainly do worse.

We ate here a year ago and it was so-so. Because it was easy to get to, we decided to try it again. I am GLAD we did! The meal was faboulous!! The wait staff was GREAT!! Service is too slow to eat there for lunch. The slowness is very annoying at dinner. Depending on when you go the food is decent. Sometimes the food is terrible! The owner thinks that the credit card hacking incident is what drove away customers but most people I know stopped going because of the poor service and unreliable food.

Stopped here for dinner with my mom and son during a cross country road trip. Very happy with how it turned out. The place looked packed judging from the parking lot, but we were seated as soon as we walked in. My biggest suggestion is, unless you have a very big appetite, share something with someone. We ordered the fried zucchini/mushrooms as an appetizer, my mom ordered a 9oz steak (that came with a salad and a side), and I ordered a cheeseburger that included fries. Very big portions of food, my mom and I could of easily shared something and would of still been too full to finish off everything. The steak was wonderful, as well as the bread that came with it. The cheeseburger wasn't bad, the meat was a little dry. Overall, very pleased with this place!

Full bar.

We were really hoping to get good steaks while we were here, but these were just okay.

Very poor hospitality and we arrived at 8:50 pm and they turned us away with plenty of customers... Maybe if they got manners and treated people better their business would have long term success. Don't see it with this type of service. The hostess couldn't see through his blk hair or talk clear...

Hostess seated us promptly, but the table was sticky and we were never waited on. We finally gave up on getting served and left.

Food was as described. Steak tenderloins in mushroom sauce done as I requested. Server was VERY new! Has a lot to learn. Brought our check while we were still eating! Not a bad place in a town that needs more restaurants!

Just horrible. From the service to the food. Small portions and the food is subpar. I think it's mostly just bc people in this area don't have anywhere else to go is why it's still open.

Good job!

    Kebabs are the way to go IMHO. Mike's is overall alright, so long as it's not your only choice for an entire week. Steer clear of the appetizers or at least chase them with liquor - IT'S THE ONLY ANTIDOTE. Caesar salad is tasty if you don't mind consuming a week's worth of sodium in one dish. On a side note my credit card number was stolen from this place! Someone was saving card numbers apparently - WTF?? Luckily Wells Fargo saw suspicious activity and sent me a new card before I was aware of the debacle! wells_fargo_street_cred ++;
