Loved this place, It's a great place to get breakfast and a hamburger. We didn't wait any longer than any other dine in restaurant and the waitress was friendly. I highly recommend this place. I'll be going back for sure.

Had lunch there yesterday. Got the meatloaf special. Let me say that mine is better. Kind of dry, only a spoonful of sauce on top. I had to cover it in catsup to eat it. Mashed potatoes tasted like an instant/real combo....weren't too bad accept they were covered in a jar brown gravy. Got the fried okra. Can't go wrong with the frozen in a bag okra. Packaged rolls that had been heated. My daughter got some kind of omelet. She really liked it. Under $15 for people. All things considered I will try the place again.

Ordered the hearty meat and two egg breakfast with bacon to go. Eggs and bacon were pretty standard diner fare, but they forgot to put the fresh fruit in the bag and my biscuit with gravy was lacking the gravy. I work down the street and know that their parking lot is always full, but after this experience I can't imagine why.

Great Chicken and Waffles! After eating off of everyone's plate I am a true believer in all things "Jim's Menu".

I wish I knew greasy spoon diners that were OKC staples other than Jims on 39th street. Beverlys is not the same... I want a Meatloaf with tomato sauce on top not gravy WTH? Jims still smells like an ashtray and feels Like the diner at the end of Pulp Fiction. I feel like I should pray before I enter... Go to Moes, Jeffs or Lakeside(39th & Tulsa I'm bad with names) please!

I went to Jim's with my husband and some friends yesterday before we left Oklahoma. The restaurant has a great old diner feel, and the waitresses were very friendly and welcoming. In addition, the food prices are very inexpensive. The menu offers standard diner fare, and we each chose a breakfast entree. I got the Full Deuce Coupe breakfast (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 strips of bacon), while the others at the table got a ham and cheese omelet, a bacon breakfast sandwich, and another combo breakfast (can't remember the name, but it was eggs, meat, and hash browns). I really liked my pancakes--they were very light and buttery--and the bacon was nice and crisp, but the eggs were a little runny/watery. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their breakfasts. One note: I got a homemade cinnamon roll to go so I could have a snack in the car on the way home to Colorado. When I opened it up to eat it, the first bite tasted oddly of cigarette smoke, so I didn't eat any more of it. Not sure what happened there, but if I had tried to eat it in the restaurant, I would definitely have sent it back. With that said, Jim's is a great place for a quick, cheap meal, especially if you like diners.

Just had breakfast at Jim's.......Not So Good :-( We waited a long time to get our food......when I watched as it sat for at least 15 minutes with the lady directing the food out of the kitchen pick it up and put it back down 3 times. When our waitress finally brought our food...she said sorry they missed your french toast order, it will be out soon.... Everything, including the french toast was stone cold and the bacon was half done, with grease not dripping off it but solidified on it! We have been before and were sitting where we could see food that others had sent back.........it fell on the floor and the boys in the kitchen picked it off the floor and put it back on the grill, then sent it back out to the person who sent it back! We won't be going back.

Nice convenient place for breakfast. Basic food, good, but not spectacular.

This place is great! Little hole in the wall, diner type feel. You can eat at the counter or in one of their many booths. Pancakes are awesome and huge! Biscuits and gravy is hands down, the best plate I've ever had in a restaurant!!! The omelet wasn't the bestest but I'll still get it again. Prices are super cheap too! I want to go back to OK so bad RIGHT THIS MINUTE to get some Jim's!

I have been going to Jims for years. I agree with Dustin in the fact a mom and pop restaurant won't last long without good food and good service . I can go anytime between 6am to 10pm and get anything on the menu, with very consistent food quality and service. It is very affordable for what you get. It is obviously not a 5 star restaurant, but for a diner, it hits all the marks. Regarding the cleanness and appearance, that had been addressed recently. Lots of remodeling has been done. If you want some eggs and bacon, and pancakes at 9pm, and a cup of coffee. ...go check it out. In fact. ...I'm going now!

Jim's Diner, at the corner of Council & 39th Expressway (aka Rte 66), in Bethany, OK. It's been kind of the only place to eat in that immediate area for a long time & my family ate there several times when we lived in the area. Never an amazing place to eat, but had good enough food to bring us back. I understand it's now under new ownership. I think that's where it's going wrong: Poor management = Poor service I ate here for breakfast with my daughter & "tried" to eat there another day. I'll start with breakfast: When you first drive up, the front parking lot looks broken & dirty. When you realize you can't maneuver your vehicle in to any of those spaces, you then drive around to a larger parking lot, just as run down, except now you can see the back side of the restaurant. Lovely. When you walk in to the restaurant, you are immediately hit with what seems like utter chaos. People standing waiting to pay or be seated, you're not sure because nobody's helping them - or you. Then you see a sign that says "Please Seat Yourself." So you wade through the people milling about the front door & cash register (which are about three feet apart, by the way), & walk through rows of regular-sized booths, little two-person booths; there's also a bar of stools where you can eat. If you insist on eating here (don't say I didn't warn you), sit at the bar. We sat in a regular booth along the windows, which they have a lot of, something I do like in a restaurant because you can see any gross stuff. And there was plenty of it at Jim's! The carpeting was filthy, food everywhere, under our table, ewww!! The menus were stained, the condiment bottles & shakers were disgusting from countless dirty hands. The tabletop had been wiped with a smelly rag that reeked of sour milk & bleach, I think. Double ewww!! My daughter wanted to leave, but we had a tight schedule, so we stayed. I wish I had listened to her...I don't remember what she ordered exactly, but she didn't like it. I usually take pictures of the food, but we were so disgusted with the crummy food & service, I forgot, I guess. I ordered their version of chicken-fried steak, which was awful. They must use a frozen pre-formed, pre-breaded patty. It was just terrible, even burned on one part where it didn't sit evenly while cooking. The gravy was so thick & salty, I think it must come from one of those industrial-size cans. The biscuits were NOT biscuits like you & I think of as biscuits. I'm sure they aren't homemade, either. The service? I would like to say we were there on a very busy morning & they just had a lot on their minds, but that's not the case. They simply did not care. They would rather stand around back by the bar area & talk like a bunch of teenagers on school grounds. Trying to get out of there when it comes time to pay is a living nightmare! You walk back to the cash register/hostess station at the entrance & wait in a long line of people who are trying to get out just as badly as you are. But..."Oh? The ticket thingy isn't working right?" "Oh? This happens all the time?" Sorry we should have had cash, I guess. Everything about this place has just gone down hill. So WHY did I "try" to eat there again, you ask? Because Cracked Egg Diner, the place where I wanted to eat, wasn't open by the time I got there & Jim's is just east across Council from them. I thought, "They couldn't possibly be as bad a second time." Silly me. I walked in around 2:15pm & there weren't many people seated in the place, but strangely enough the front was as crowded & chaotic as our breakfast adventure. Hmmm. There's NOBODY at the cash register & these customers are looking around like "?" Weird. The sign for seating was turned sideways against the wall, so I wasn't sure if it was seat yourself or not. I tried to get the attention of someone behind the bar area & asked if I should just sit down. She said, "Anywhere's fine" with a wave of her hand. Okay. I chose one of the booths toward the back, beside the bar, close to the kitchen door. Wait staff walking by, past my booth, not making eye contact. Maybe they closed at three, maybe they were thinking, "it's almost time to go home," not "there's still time to provide decent service." After ten minutes & a hundredth time of reading the torn handwritten sign taped on the back of the last bar stool that said something to the effect of, "Don't sit here, broken," I had finally had enough of being completely ignored & left. Back through the line of people still waiting to pay. Why? Once again there was NOBODY at the cash register! I ended up going down the street to a Sonic which was the same as I remember it - pretty DARN good for fast food. So, don't waste your time and money going to Jim's Diner. If you want to eat someplace you'll really like and it's before 2:00 PM, just jump back on 39th Expressway and "Go West, young man," to Cracked Egg Diner, just across Council. (You're Welcome) :)

Ranges from just alright to pretty good. Service for the most part is good. Place is as clean as expected. We will eat there again.

Awesome food, the best pancakes ever.... I will be back and recommend any one to stop in and enjoy. A recent remodeled facility makes the old meet the new

Sat in there for 20 minutes. Made eye contact with one of the servers. No one ever came by to take our order. Tried to flag them down. Nothing. We left. Never thought I would have to walk out on a restaurant before.

Service was fairly slow. That is including sitting down to the time we got drinks and then standing up at the counter to pay for more than 5 minutes. I decided on the chicken and waffles, what's in the description shows a waffle and a fried chicken breast, but what I actually got were two chicken strips and waffle. The chicken was dry and the waffle was just ok. my husband got a burger and fries which was just ok. I probably would not go out of my way to go to this place. I guess if I had to say something good, it would be that it was a clean place.

I'm giving Jim's a 4 star review based solely on my one visit. This in spite of some pretty bad yelp reviews that I could totally envision as true. We went on the 4th of July, mid-afternoon as we were super hot and hungry from spending the midday at the freedom fest in Bethany. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich ( one of my favorites on any diner's menu) and Kate had a chicken fried chicken sandwich. My plate exceeded my expectations and was a very good open faced hot beef sandwich. Kate's sandwich was good as well. It wasn't anything fancy but we weren't expecting it to be. The clientele was a little older and It was as if we were at the "early bird" special of a Furrs cafeteria. The service was just ok. The menu said that the restaurant had been updated in 2011. If thats the case they must have gotten the decor from a 70's restaurant surplus store. Jim's is very dated but again, we weren't expecting anything different. That said, Jim's was VERY affordable (total bill including tip for 2 was under $20.00) and it was super clean. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at Jim's or "highly recommend" it to visiting guests, but if I needed a good, hot meal for reasonable prices, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in.

This is a good old fashioned diner. I have never had a bad meal here. If you like home style food, the you should like Jim's Diner. I recommend the fried chicken, any breakfast item, the burgers are huge, and the chicken fried steak never disappoints. I recommend you try it if you haven't already.

Good little greasy spoon diner. I eat here quite a bit and I have to say I enjoy pretty much anything I order. I've tried all the omelets they are all good. I can't speak for many of the dinner options because I haven't tried many of them. I can say the "land run" burger is seriously one of the best hamburgers I've eaten in the Okc metro area. I highly recommend it. Bring your appetite though its two pretty good sized patties of beef & fries come with it. I'm not saying this place is a gourmet paradise but if you want some pretty good food at a fair price give it a try.

I'm sad to report that I must update my old review of Jims. My old review that was up for a couple years just doesn't reflect at all what Jims is now. Jims has always had bad service but it is now so bad that even a great plate of food can't make up for it. The new owner or manager seems not to care at all. However, I would still go because I liked the food until they decided that people who choose rye toast only get one slice per order. This is the most asinine idea that I've ever heard. So I simply ask for another piece and every time I'm meet with rudeness and an up charge on my bill. The new owner/manager really needs to watch the old time tested business video called "give them the pickle". Sadly I will never return to Jims.

We stopped in here for breakfast because the parking lot is always full - usually a good sign. I order ed 2 soft poached eggs and rye toast, my guy ordered the mushroom, spinach and swiss omelet with homefries and toast. My poached eggs were almost hardboiled and it came with just one slice of toast. I always thought toast was 2 slices??? Hmmm...The omelet was fine but the homefries appeared to be deep fried potatoes and once again a side order (EXTRA) of toast was one slice! The could do better.

Jim's has been in business since 1978 I know cause the coffee mug said so. You don't last as a mom N pop shop without making a decent plate of food. If you're next door at the Holiday Inn then it's definitely the closest place to grab breakfast when you miss (or don't want to eat) the continental. I had a ham, mushroom, spinach, and Swiss omelette with hash browns and a biscuit. The hash browns were cooked perfectly (I asked for crispy) and the omelette was tasty but looked a little small for 3 eggs. (small eggs maybe?) I got one biscuit were as most places around here give 2 and it was OK but not great and it was also a little small. The diner was quaint with an old timey feel and the classic country station played in the background. Service was friendly and at a good pace.
