This place is just one step above a Denny's which is just down the street. I have never had anything bad here but then again I have never had anything off the wall good. I don't get a thrill out of biscuits and gravy or most other breakfast fare and this seems to be what they are good at. I know there are other things on the menu and I haven't tried it all I must admit....but this place is alright nonetheless. I really don't make a habit out of going here since it is pretty much like any other place in this genre. The wait staff have always been friendly and eager to please....but they sure seem to be overworked and underpaid.

Our motel was right next door to this restaurant during our trip across the country last week, so we decided to try it. The hostess and the waitress were both super friendly and so cute with their "Ya All's"! The kitchen was really fast in getting out the food. I had a bacon, mushroom and cheddar omelette, hash browns and wheat toast (Being a Californian, I forgot that in most of the rest of the country it's just brown colored bread!) It was all good and huge portions. The boyfriend had eggs over easy, bacon, sausage and biscuits that were covered in gravy. He thought the biscuits were too sweet to put gravy on, but maybe Oklahomaians like sweet biscuits! He ate everything anyway and overall liked it all. We also split an order of pancakes. I asked if they had blueberry pancakes and the waitress said yes, we can put blueberries and whipped cream or apples, etc on top of them. It was then I realized I was talking about fresh blueberries and she was talking about pie filling! LOL I settled for plain old pancakes with butter and maple syrup. They were excellent.

I'm giving this place 1 star just because of the horrible waitress that blamed my children for leaving a dirty pair of socks in their filthy bathroom! First of all, we just stopped here for dinner on our way back from Turner Falls and we are ALL WEARING SANDALS! The food is decent but don't ask for ice water with lemon because they will give you sink water!

I tend to saunter through Ardmore, OK about once a year since I have family that live about an hour away. They live in Paul's Valley but since there is absolutely nothing there, we tend to hang out in Ardmore. The Prairie Kitchen is the place to go for breakfast. Biscuits and gravy are the BEST THING HERE! Can i say "yum?!"

I've eaten at restaurants across good ol' Oklahoma and this place might serve the best breakfast in the entire damn state. It's a cozy little restaurant with an extremely friendly staff and some of that good ol' country charm. Now...what you're really wanted me to talk about...the food. Their menu is full of homemade lovin'. After a brief survey of the options, I decided on the "Campfire." The Campfire is an omelet infused with hash browns. (Is that the proper use of infused?) I'm not really an omelet guy, but sweet weeping baby Jesus was their omelet wonderful! The texture was splendid and the taste was...just...I'm having trouble finding the proper way to describe what I would call "omelet perfection." I could literally hear my stomach say, "You've done a good job, son." If you do eat here, come hungry. They are more than generous on their portions. The omelet was enough, but as is my standard for breakfast places...I had to have their biscuits n' gravy. And let me say that I'm so happy that I did. It's easily the best I've ever had. Their gravy...their gravy is something special. They should have a trophy, or better yet, a monument dedicated to their biscuits n' gravy. I was more than impressed with this place. My only complaint is that it's located in Ardmore and not OKC.

We love eating here any time we're passing through. The chicken and fruit salad is delicious, as well as the buffalo wing strips. They have good, friendly service too.

I sure was missing my eggs, bacon and grits for breakfast and I happen to have gone to the store to buy more gluten free bread and they toasted a piece of my bread. Thank you!! I needed that.

We came on a road trip because of the great yelp reviews, but were so surprised that it was so bad - across the board. Service was terrible. We sat for at least 15 min before a server took drink orders. We were pretty excited about some home cookin style food, but truly everything we had was bad. My husband had the grilled pork chop and mashed potatoes, both tasted "canned." I had chicken strips and fried okra. How do you mess that up? Finally, the restaurant was really dirty, especially the bathroom. Waitstaff never smiled - literally never. Not sure why the reviews are so high. Maybe this is better at breakfast??

Best breakfast in a 100 mile radius served all day, every day. Friday & Saturday night prime rib! Delicious! Never, ever had a bad meal here...ever....and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. Been coming here for over ten years. Family atmosphere & kid friendly. Great local gem.

My daughter and I took an impromptu road trip and ended up in Ardmore today. We wanted to eat somewhere we couldn't have at home, and stopped in because she said it looked very Oklahoma-ish, whatever that means. We were glad we did! Wonderful breakfast. She had biscuits and gravy which I tried. Nice fluffy biscuits and a good creamy gravy. My omelet was cheesy and had just the right amount of meat. The Hashbrowns were crispy like I like them and the price was very reasonable. Good service, not too on top of us, but quick with what we needed. Food came out quickly too. If we ever end up that way again we'd definitely return.

This is a great place! We stopped here for lunch on our way to Tulsa. There were four of us and each one got a great meal. I was in the mood for a patty melt, which as expected was a bit on the greasy side, but very, very good. The other three with me enjoyed their food as well. The service was excellent and our little waitress really earned her tip. She even gave us refills of our drinks in to go cups before we left the restaurant. I would stop here again.

If you are a fan of stomach filling meals this is place to go. I stopped here for breakfast and ordered a "campfire". It's an omelette with hashbrowns mixed into one. I ordered mine with ham and Swiss cheese. It came with extra hashbrowns and 2 biscuits with extra gravy on the side. Talking about a hearty breakfast. It was all delicious, I'm not a big fan of biscuits but with that white gravy I downed both of them instantly. The waitresses were super nice and friendly. The place has a really homey feel to it. It seemed as if I was the only one who wasn't a regular there since the waitress knew everyone else by name. Oh yeah I almost forgot, I paid $10 for the whole meal!!

Great place to stop on the road. The food was great and service was fast and efficient. The mushroom swiss burger was outstanding.

We both had a build your own omelette you were able to pick 3 ingredients then .40 for each additional ingredient. The servings were very large even my 300 lb husband could not finish his. The hash browns were crispy but not over cooked. The place was clean and very OK/TX themed. Omelettes wet around $8.50

Was okay, typical of 'Steak and Egg' restaurants, it had menu ptices that vary wildly, from a LOADED BREAKFAST for $7.00 to a Steak n Egg combo breakfast for $14.00! So one patrons total bill is under $9,00 while another is MORE than $18,00 wth drinks... I had the [$13.99]TRAIL BOSS BREAKFAST (Steak/Egg Combo) The Eggs were a solid over-well, and were very tasty by adding table pepper, and Hot sauce, provided,) the sirloin steak was nice, and a properly cooked med-rare, the sauce choices were okay (A-1, BBQ, or Worchestershire Sauce,) the steak was tough for med-rare (I chose sirlion over T-Bone) There should be a larger plate/pkatter used instead of 2 dinner plates with ENGLISH MUFFIN, Grits, and Eggs all crowded onto one, the lonely steak sitting forlorn on the other! I like somewhat thick Gree-yuts, I have lived in the South for 25 yrs, and they should be made in a big enough vat, that they stay warm and thicken, adding judicious water to keep them moist, but lumpy is better than soupy in MY book, they should never be served' Freshly made! Nor thin, and runny! The grits got a massive fail! (After trying to scoop them with the fork, I gave up, and finally sipped them from the bowl, like a soup in a Chinese buffet! ) The English Muffin was hearty and toasted quite nicely! I also had the [$2.99] Large Grapefuit Juice. It was Ruby Red, and quite nice, Hadnt been chilled, and while the waitress did bring ice to cool it down, I preferred it luke was to iced - down. The service, was prompt, and Mostly efficient. Too much ice made the drinks difficult to drink, even water, and with a straw! Waitstaff 70/100 Food 65/100 +Tax n tip [$20.51]

Went there for breakfast this morning and it was amazing! Best breakfast I've had hands down, the food portions are huge, the pancakes are fluffy and delicious and the service was excellent. Had trouble picking my meal because they have so many great options! Loved my experience there and am definitely looking forward to being back!

This is your reasonably typical greasy spoon with easy access to the highway and one awesome caveat: It has some of the best pancakes I've ever eaten! Seriously, I'm almost always a skillet or a nice hearty breakfast guy. My dad makes fantastic pancakes, I make decent pancakes, and these pancakes take the [pan]cake! I really wanted to try a campfire. I also really wanted a nice hearty big breakfast with eggs, hash browns, biscuits, and all that jazz. I went with the pancakes with a nice heaping of blackberries and compote with whip cream on top. I second guessed myself a bunch of times before the food came. It was wrong to second guess myself. Get the pancakes! ...and I was even more wrong to second guess myself because even though my blackberry pancakes were very filling... my travel companion's meals were even more filling. Yay instant leftovers for me to round out the breakfast with the heartiness I was looking for! Prices were very affordable. The staff looked a little busy and definitely earned their tip, but were friendly and quick about everything. The parking lot was more than ample enough to accommodate the 10:1 truck with brush guard:car ratio. I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again and get some darn good pancakes with a side of pancake.

Great food and service. This is like your old fashioned greasy spoon. Food was made as order and fresh and hot when served. Large enough for small group or meeting.

My first trip to OK, and silly me thought I'd hit Denny's for breakfast. Enough good reviews were available on Yelp that i decided to give The Prairie Kitchen a go. I went with this little dish called the Chuckwagon. The pancakes were fluffy; my eggs were perfectly cooked; my bacon was not burned nor was it chewy, it was just right; my ham steak was cooked well and was not at all gamey tasting; sadly, i hit the proverbial brick wall and could not get down my biscuits and gravy, but the side of corned beef hash and the perfectly cooked hash browns are the reason! This was an absolute homerun of a breakfast experience and a great inteoduction to how Oklahomans do cookin' right. And by the way, the coffee was spot on great as well and so was the service.

This place doesn't look like much but it's got FANTASTIC breakfast! We didn't order anything else, except kids spaghetti. It was wonderful! Barbara was maybe the best server EVER!!! She knows the menu like the back if her hand, she's friendly and hospitable. The whole staff was friendly. It's clean and reasonable. We will be back the next time we are in town! Oh and the sweet tea is sweet!!!!!!! Their restrooms are clean also.

Always tough to choose where to stop and eat between Tulsa and Dallas. My first stop here was very subpar. The food was okay, nothing real special. I would rate them much higher had the serving staff been even semi adequate. Very lazy, grouped in a corner, giggling and having private conversations loud enough to be heard throughout the restaurant. I just don't need to know that much about the private life of my waitress. Beyond that, dropping off food seemed to be their only concern. Ice Tea refills were never offered. Observing my waitress, she just could not break herself away from her chat in the corner. Waited over 5 minutes for the check. I attempted to flag the waitress down 4 times, she never looked sideways. I do have a tip: loud, obnoxious, giggling waitresses, chomping their gum and more interested in loudly gossiping in regard to their private lives, while making customers flag them down with exaggerated movement does not speak well for your establishment.

We tried this place when Denny's was full and will never pass it up again. Quality food fast and reasonable price. Pancakes light and fluffy, biscuits and gravy very good and the best bacon cheese burger I had in a while. Highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Went to breakfast with a friend and had a great meal. I recommend the pit ham, two pancakes and two egg breakfast. Server was really nice and the atmosphere was so pleasant.
