In the dining wasteland that is I35 between Gainesville and Norman, OK (a route I find myself traveling frequently), you grow tired of fast food and just want "real food". Scanning the billboards for anything else, and wary of out of the way unknown joints, we veered off the roadway towards a chain place. However, when we pulled up Yelp, it highlighted Budro's as right nearby so we decided to try based on the reviews. We pulled up and Budro's shares a space with Diamond Dogs, which we'll have to try next time. We wandered in and were immediately greeted, very warmly, by Helen Jane who took great care of us. The menu is interesting; lots of things I want to try in the future, however, on this run we decided to try the two meat plate: ribs/brisket for me, ribs/sausage for Giant. Fries on the site; a bonus cup of beans. The food was terrific! The sausage, especially, was wonderful, and I don't normally like sausage that much! The brisket had a great smoke ring and wonderful flavor; it was a little on the lean side for me, but tender nonetheless. I'm a big believer in the human part of the experience; that is, if the folks are friendly and service is good, it covers a lot of sins. The service here is friendly, warm and efficient. Helen Jane made us feel like family. That, plus the great food, will keep us coming back. Helen Jane asked us how we found them and we said Yelp. She said, "Cool. What's Yelp?" Now she knows.

First of all they no longer have fried pickles. One of our favorites but they simplified their menu. We got the double onion burger and a combination plate with ribs and brisket. The onion burger was very good. The caramelized onions. and lots of them, on the burger really made it special. The brisket was fork tender and didn't need any sauce. The ribs were good once you got past the dry rub. Seems like there was an awful lot on them. They had a flavor that I couldn't recognize. My wife told me it was anise. Interesting. I might not have done it on my ribs but it wasn't bad, except that there was so much of it. Overall a good place to eat. We will come back. Another thing with mentioning is the background music. Radio, but an oldies station with Jethro Tull and Beatles. Sometimes the guys at the next table dying along. Fun.

I can't review the barbecue because all I have had is the burgers...best restaurant burgers I remember having anywhere. Five Guys should be envious. I will write another review after trying the barbecue. I hope it is better than Smokin' Joe's...a tall order.

Cheerful friendly staff, not crowded, multiple tv's to watch the game on, great music and excellent prices on the wings. I had the pulled pork sandwich, cheese fries and garlic parmesean wings and it was all delicious. I enjoyed the wings more than the pulled pork. My mom had the half order of ribs with beans, cole slaw and potato salad. The ribs were tender and good and sides were ok. Portions were big, I had enough leftovers to feed my empty pitted boyfriend. It wasn't too hard to find off one the main roads either which is a big problem I run into with some restaurants on here. Overall, Im definitely coming back and bringing friends.

Really great atmosphere. Very fun crowd! The food is great. Most of it is made from scratch on site, not just something ordered from Sysco. We loved the fried pickles and jalapeno ranch dipping sauce. I enjoyed the BBQ. Highly recommend it.

This is by far, the best texas BBQ in LA. Tender juicy smoked meats, excellent sides, great service and a nice bar. What more could you ask for?

Passing through Ardmore creates a challenge for those of us who like to a.) shop local, b.) avoid chains whenever possible. We arrived at Budro's on a Sunday afternoon and were promptly seated, and waited upon = menus were provided and drink orders were taken. My only concern was that it was absolutely dead with only 2 other families eating here. Lucky for us, this was most likely just a product of them being located so far off IH35. My daughter ordered the Chicken Strips meal, I ordered the Big Leaguer (double meat) burger, my wife and son both ordered the Little Leaguer (single meat) hamburger. All burgers were ordered medium rare. Good news; the burgers were absolutely delicious - hand patted patties were a juicy medium rare with grilled onions (yummy!!) and were quickly devoured. The hand cut fries were perfectly cooked and the right mixture of crunchy - but NOT overcooked. The chicken strips were also a hit - so I would not hesitate to stop here again. The only downside was that the waitress failed to check on us (hence the missing star) - which was not a big deal because it is not like this place is huge or anything. So if you are looking for a fantastic burger in Ardmore not too far off IH35 = head on over to Budro's!

Honestly, one of the worst places I've ever eaten. I ordered a cheeseburger with a fried egg on top (no veggies, no condiments), easy enough, right, no... The grilled onions were barely grilled, they forgot the egg, the patty itself looked like it had been on the grill all night (or worse, frozen) and, because I wasn't asked, it was WELL done. Also, the patty was about a half the size of the bun; There was about a 1/4" of bun exposed around the burger. Leaving was the best part of my whole experience. My friend had the ribs, and for being a self proclaimed "rib house," the ribs looked slim and unappealing. My friend mentioned that they were tough and "not very good." Yelp! says they close at 2am but we were some of the only ones sitting there at 10pm. And even though there were four waitresses, only one was handling the four tables of patrons. One waitress was sweeping the place up at a speed comparable to a snail, one was flirting with the bartender (who also was just standing around) and our waitress was spraying/wiping down the tables with disinfectant just before she brought out our food. This is not a family friendly place because I wouldn't serve this food to my dog. Getting past the group of "bros" at the table behind our table talking about their past sexual experiences loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear, the food was tremendously sub-par and the tension between the waitstaff was very prominent. It's an easy decision to NEVER go back. On a side note, they have a stage here that "hasn't been used since (our waitress) had been there." The place is acoustically treated for bands to perform but there was no music. Again, top 3 worst places I've ever eaten at...

1st time I saw baloney being offered in a BBQ joint. Ordered the 3 meats platter: ribs, links, and baloney - the ribs is definitely the best out of the 3. Huge portion for the price. The entrance to the restaurant is definitely interesting, you're in 60s atmosphere room after going through a hot dog joint.

So where do you eat when you're driving on I-35 towards OKC from Texas?! How about Budro's Rib Joint in Ardmore! The Yelp iPhone app came through once again as I was craving Oklahoma style BBQ. My buddy and I ordered: Cheese Fries with Bacon Budro's Combo Ribs (Half Order) Fries and Bacon resembled McDonald's fries with melted American cheese and freshly fried chopped bacon. Combo consisted of a choose of three meats. We ordered bologna, sliced brisket, and chopped brisket. The meats were juicy with a hint of smoked flavor. The main course consisted of three thick sliced ribs, potato salad, baked beans, and Texas toast. As seen with the other dishes, the ribs had plenty of juicy meat as well. Out of all the meats, my favorite was the bologna due to its unique BBQ taste and rare offering in restaurants. The two entrees and appetizer was plenty enough for two. The atmosphere at Budro's was an easy 5 stars. Friendly service, great prices! The restaurant is decorated with Sports memorabilia and previous held rock concert programs held at the restaurant. I would frequently visit Budro's if I live in Ardmore America.

Inconsistency, lies & betrayal, bad food & even worse service, that's all your serving up these days. The last few times I came in, there was talk of changing the menu, chef, wings etc., Now, after my last few visits you can't even make a burger right! The last 3 we have ordered have been way overcooked. One was even burnt on one side. My fries were so salty this past time they were almost uneatable! To add insult to injury, I asked your regularly "confused" bartender, Shelby, immediately as I sat down, (before I ordered) if you indeed had changed the wings to the small cheap brand that your Sysco supplier was talking about switching to right in front of us previous time we were there. Ms Shelby "confused" bartender said no, that they were still the BIG, quality ones as always. Sure enough tiny crappy wings were brought out to us. Lies & Betrayal! They are also still listed on the menu as the "BIG" wings. This last visit, the owner, came over so I asked her, "why did you change the wings, these are NOT the "BIG" wings listed on the menu that we all drive hours to get!" she says to me "Because McDonald's is serving wings now & has driven the price so far up we can't afford to carry those anymore." So, I say, " don't you think you should have updated the menu accordingly if your going to serve cheaper, smaller wings & charge the same price?!" And owner says, "I will be changing the menu soon." Then she walked away. Soon? When?! After you dupe a few more hundred plus people?! First of all, when you change your most popular item you should change the menu first! Knowing that, I would NOT have ordered them! That's why I asked! But, you knew that already that's why all the lies, deceit, & betrayal! Second, who the heck do you think you are talking to about chicken product & the sales projections at McDonald's?! If you knew anything about what was going on with the sales of mighty wings at the Golden Arches you would know that sales are soft and WAY BELOW projections and furthermore, has nothing to do with the price of chicken product that YOU purchase from SYSCO! With all do respect "PANTS ON FIRE LADY!" Third, the "confused" bartender Shelby, argued over an hour with several of us at the bar when we all complained about our drinks tasting too sweet! The dude next to me kept complaining over & over & she kept yelling at him to shut up & stop complaining about his "vodka & soda" being way too sweet & I kept complaining about my "gin & tonic" also tasting too sweet, again, on deaf ears. Over an hour later she finally realizes & admits she used sprite instead of soda/tonic water in all our drinks bc she was "confused" laughing unapologetically! Not funny for us, as we had to pay for her horrible drink mistakes! Then, we all started to wonder why she is "confused" ALL the time & just happen to admittedly lost 40 pounds in the last few weeks! We all asked her why/how she did it bc we all want to be on that diet! She said openly to everyone sitting there "I haven't been on a diet, worked out, did anything different, it just fell off!" Ok. Right. I wasn't born yesterday Ms "confused" scatterbrained tweaked out bartender. It's like she is living in her own little bubble no one can penetrate! We ask for blue cheese, we get ranch, we ask for a side of something, she forgets it, we want medium burgers we get well done, we want mayo we get mustard! All the while she carries on like none of this bothers her in the least we all just need to be happy with whatever scatterbrained mistakes she dishes out! In what restaurant universe is that kind of service acceptable?! We also overheard the rant about changing the smokin bar to a non-smoking bar was a BIG mistake that drove all your regular customers away & thats WHY you are cutting cost! Some conversations should be left to the back of the house, not in ear shot of paying customers! Customers don't want to hear the entire staff talk incessantly about their screwed up lives either. Ever heard of TMI or don't take your drama to work with you?! Very unprofessional to say the least! I don't need to reiterate the roach issues. That is a BIG problem! A very serious BIG problem for you and the health department to deal with. I wish you the best as you were my favorite hometown bar &grill. That ended when I was sick as a dog soon as I got home from eating there last time! I really hope you can fix all your problems and take back control of your food quality, kitchen cleanliness, your service & your staff etc., get back to the Budros "BIG" wings your known for, have some pride in your establishment again, serve some fresh, quality food & get back to having professional service with a smile, from a professional staff that doesn't need a intervention. This establishment is to be avoided. Will not return. EVER.

In Ardmore for business this week with a collegue, and let me tell you, all the locals recommended Budro's but I was a little hesitant. The last few reviews (all in November) were all one star and no reviews posted since then. 2/3 of the November 2013 reviews mentioned cockroaches (WHAT?).... but we could NOT find a good place to watch the Auburn/FSU game, so we finally relented and went to Budro's anyway, despite the recent YELP reviews. Let's be honest... the place is nothing much to look at, from the outside or inside. HOWEVER... The food here is amazing. Not "sports bar style mediocre food" level amazing, as in... holy crap how does a hole in the wall produce this quality of food amazing. You could tell it was a chef in the back, not just a "head and serve" type of bar. Sat at the bar, the guy serving drinks was not only a little cutie (very sweet), I found out while waiting for our food that he's also the GM, and a new GM at that (3 weeks).... So that might explain the decline in review scores in November, maybe it was admist a management change? Regardless... if you're in Ardmore you obviously already know about this place. If your passing through travelling... give this place a shot. TV's everywhere (good place to watch a game) and good food, good atmosphere and generally was a great time. Try the buffalo chicken sammich! It was delish. GM said the chicken parm they serve is the best he's ever had -- I'm going to try that next. We'll be here a week and I'd be surprised if we dont hit this place up at least twice more.

Wow! Such nice people and such good food. Took the advice of Yelpers and tried the smoked bologna. So unique and so good. Kids liked it, too. Go, Ellie! Good luck in the contest.

WARNING!!!!! I found a cockroach in my potato salad, on my final bite. The server immediately took my food away to show it to the "owner" and said she would be right out to talk to me. 15 minutes later some dude, probably the bartender, showed up and asked me what the problem was. I explained that there was a roach in my food and he tried to give me a 20 percent off "food only" coupon...like ill ever eat there again.

When in doubt, hit up Budro's. They have a menu with everyone in mind and a rotating beer selection. Friendly staff takes care of you and is never too far away. The only real downfall to me (though I might be in the minority here) is the menu size. So many things to choose from means it's sort of tough to figure out their specialty. being from GA, I always try the pork. I've had the ribs and pulled (chunked) pork and have no problems with the quality. I've had better but it's still good when I'm in the mood for some 'cue. The burgers though are the highlight. Good char on them but still cooked to order, and some good toppings. Steaks come recommended though I haven't had one yet. All in all a common place to find me, though mostly for the bar and the friendly people behind said bar. Also, I caught an awesome couple of bands there not too long ago and had alot of fun. Just wish Ardmore had heard about it.

My friend and I were doing clinical rotations in Ardmore, and he suggested Budros because of their fried pickles. He then proceeded to say other things about the place, but I didn't hear any of it because I was sold immediately. Few things alleviate the pains of long days better than copious amounts of fried things. The restaurant is kind of like a divey sports bar that actually does everything right. Service was friendly, refills were prompt, and most importantly the food was really delicious. The fried pickle were even better than I had expected. Covered very lightly in a cornmeal breading and accompanied by jalapeno ranch dipping sauce, Budro's slightly spicy pickles were crisp, tangy, and irresistible. We polished off the appetizer in probably just over 5 minutes. Their entree portions are almost laughably huge. My full-sized 3-meat BBQ plate was literally enough food to feed me for three very satisfying meals. Their beef brisket is merely okay, but the ribs and smoked bologna were superb. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak, and nearly halfway through it he almost conceded defeat to the portion size. We both have more-than-healthy appetites, so fans quantity will be just as satisfied as fans quality. We'll be in Ardmore quite a bit over the next 4 months, so there's little doubt that we'll be back. Hell, Budro's might even be worth the drive from Wichita Falls every now and then. If you're driving through Ardmore, or if you live in Ardmore and somehow haven't eaten here, make it a priority to stop in. Good food, good service, fair prices -- great restaurant.

Horrible food, it lacked any real flavor. Also while I was eating I saw a roach crawl past my table. Stay away from this place, I would not even recommend it to someone I disliked.

Our favorite place to eat! What a treasure! Being from Upstate NY we are always on the lookout for great chicken wings, and Budro's wings are to die for. Their queso is the bomb dot com and the burgers are a smash as well. Bravo Budro's for making amazing food in a great funky atmosphere!

Wow...absolutely terrible (unless you enjoy inatentive service, cold food and a slow kitchen). We came in for lunch, were the only table in non-smoking, and our food took just under and hour to get to the table (ten minutes between the first entree to the last)!
