Recently, Groupon had a $10 credit for $5 for Carsonie's and I had never had it before, so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered the original stromboli as carryout and went to pick it up at the Westerville location. As I walked in, I expected to be greeted by the aroma of fresh garlic and hot pies baking in the oven; however, the smell of the mustiness of a cheap Myrtle Beach hotel smacked me in the face! In addition, the place should be labeled a bar, not a restaurant. It was noisy and loud and not a place I would care to sit down at and enjoy a romantic dinner. So as I made my way to the bar, like a mouse in a maze, I caught the attention of the bartender. I go to show her the Groupon on my phone and she immediately interjected and stated that it is for dine-in only. This is something I admit that I overlooked, so I asked to just be given credit for the $5 I paid for the Groupon. As empathetic as a bartender normally is, she refused that completely reasonable request as well.. I regrettably bowed down to the Groupon Nazi and paid for my stromboli and dodged my way back out the door. When I made it home, I began to graze on the stromboli.. I found that it was a bit greasy, but not too bad (Antonio's is significantly better). So Mr. Carsonie, you can keep the money I paid for the Groupon and hopefully reinvest it in, "Give 'em the Pickle" training for your clearly inept staff...

really not good. lunch buffet was dreadful and our service equally so. there are much better places to grab a good lunch or great italian. I would skip this and seek out something else.

Last time I was there the spaghetti sauce was really salty and gross.

Loved the stromboli !!! I've been to the Lane Avenue location in Upper Arlington and we all enjoy that place, so we decided to visit the original Carsonie's. Now this place has that great "Neighborhood Feel" From what I gathered, many of the employees have been there for many years, so they must treat them OK. I know that this family definitely makes the BEST STROMBOLI I've ever tasted

Stromboli is the best you will find anywhere in the U.S. Tip: Hit up the $8.99 lunch buffet on Wednesdays.

I need a pizza joint in every town I live in... Something cozy, that has a quaint, family feeling... With great food-obviously. Carsonie's is my go-to. They have the best Stromboli. The pizza, loaded fries & house salads are delicious too. I've never been disappointed with anything I've gotten here. A true gem in Westerville.

Lived in Westerville my whole life...forty years and never been here. I have been missing out. Got the medium wings and a medium pepperoni pizza. The wings are AWESOME!! Great flavor, crunchy and just the right size. The pizza was great, very cheesy (just the way I like it) and we did not get extra cheese. The pizza sauce tastes like it was made just before it was put on the pizza, super fresh. The waitress was nice and attentive and they are generous with their drinks. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy, it doesn't matter if you're a Buckeye fan or not. Can't wait to come back for some more wings and maybe a Boli or some pasta or anything else on the menu because it all looked good.

Even though I like this location less than the one in Upper Arlington, this is the original and I think the stromboli was even better here so 5 stars again from me for best stromboli in Columbus or anywhere for that matter! The location is in a old and run down part of Westerville in the middle of a strip mall. In fact the outside area is in the middle of a parking lot. It's fenced off but still all you hear is cars so we ate inside. I bet this was here before the strip mall and used to look different. Inside tons of photos and knick knacks, just pretty old looking. Our server looked as she had been crying, no smiles or good feelings here, in fact everytime she came back she looked worse. Nonetheless, she serviced us well. We got the garlic bread to start since we knew we would have to wait at least half an hour for the 'boli. We were about to tell her nevermind when it took half an hour for the garlic bread to come. The idea was to have something to munch on while waiting, not get dinner two bites into the bread. Oh well, it was still great, fresh, cheesy, crunchy, garlicy. I had a caesar salad as well which was also good. The stromboli a real work of art, we got mushrooms, onion, ham and bacon, it was cooked to perfection, the mariniara for dipping also perfect, really worth the $20 any and everyday! Along with the strange server and run down feeling what REALLY bugged us when that the host and a server were at the booth next to us taking all the straws out of the paper and putting them in a pitcher. My husband and I were speechless, in fact this is what kept us grossly entertained the whole wait for dinner. The guy was banging the straws on the table so they push up the top, laying they half open on the dirty table, then when he had enough pulling all the tops to remove the rest. The chick was biting open the paper and pulling each out and they put them in a foggy looking water pitcher, I'm assuming to save the waiters time. When we first saw this my husband took his and my sons straw out right away, me I am glad that I never drink out of straw to begin with. I usually can't keep my mouth shut and wanted to yell how nasty that was but I couldn't get myself to which now pisses me off. Still the food is top notch, as long as you know to avoid drinks with straws you will have an amazing dinner!

Stopped for dinner last night, sort of by accident because I couldn't find the the restaurant I was planning to go to. But they were doing a land-office business so I figured it couldn't be all bad. I elected to sit at the bar so as not to take up a table for just me. The guy next to me was eating a stromboli (I asked him what it was) and he raved about it. While I was waiting on mine there must have been twenty come out of the kitchen so I figured it couldn't be all bad. A stromboli is a bundle of meat and cheese rolled up in some pizza dough and baked until it rises. It's served with a small bowl of marinara sauce. And it was pretty darned good! It was $9.99 which isn't cheap but isn't bad either. I'll have to stop up there and try their spaghetti.

5.69 for the most pathetic salad and my Stromboli was raw inside. This place has no consistency. When it's good it is good, but you never know what you are going to get. They should be ashamed of themselves for the pricing of the Caesar side salad.

I have been to Carsonies a couple of times now and I have not been disappointed once. The first occasion I was there was when a few of my friends wanted to hit up a bar before moving my friend into his apartment and the other was on a casual date with this girl I liked for my birthday. Both times I got either the Calzone or the Stromboli. I got the Original Stromboli which is pep, sausage and cheese for $10. I am a average guy and a huge eater. I was full after this portion of food. The tall beers or at least my Yeungling Brown & Tan on tap was $4.50 not to bad for a huge glass of beer. The atmosphere and ambiance was good, the only problem was that it was a little louder than I expected. For the bar experience that I had at Carsonies, was great or at least to my liking. If you want a college girl hangout spot, this is not the spot for you. The bar patrons are usually older guys that want to watch sports and hangout with the cool bartender. Carsonies food and draft beer selection has never failed either time that I have been there. FYI in the summer/spring/early fall months, they open up the bocce ball court.

I order carry out here as its close to work, but its very spotty! If you avoid the Italian food its ok, but every time i get an italian dish its a train wreck! My last visit i ordered the lasagna, and no joke it was warm and dry at the edges and cool inside. It was as if "Chef Mic" (Mirowave) prepares the lasagna here.

I've stopped into Carsonies multiple times just to sit at the bar and drink with some appetizers. The bartenders have always been super friendly and our food has been fine, but on a particular Saturday night my boyfriend and I decided to stop in and have a nice dinner, which turned out to be less than nice. The owner of the establishment is pretty much there all day every day, at least when I've stopped in and that is who brought us to our table. After waiting 5 minutes for our server, the owner came back and got our drink order and then 10 minutes after that we finally got our drinks. It was a pretty busy Saturday night and I am a forgiving person so I brushed it off. Our server finally came and took our order, which was an appetizer of garlic bread and fries and an entree of pizza. It took about 20 minutes for our appetizers to come out and after our waitress stopped by multiple times to tell us that the kitchen hadn't started our order (or lost the ticket, I forget what her excuse was now) it became clear that she just simply forgot to put our order in. Which, coming from a background of serving at a restaurant, I can TOTALLY understand. After we got our appetizers it took another 20 minutes for us to get our pizza, which we had to get to go because at that point we had run out of time. The manager was right there the whole time bussing tables and refilling drinks and you'd think after waiting an hour and a half to eat our waitress would inform him that we were inconvenienced. But alas, no discount, nothing taken off, no apology. As I said, I come from a background of waitressing and if I knew that one of my tables were inconvenienced, you bet your ass I would have told my manager and discounted the bill. Which is why I will not be returning to Carsonies.

The meatballs are awesome and the wings are ok, but the rest was kind of mediocre. Lots of flies buzzing around for some reason, at least when I was there.

Thank goodness the food was delicious, the service was horrible! I've been here several times and the Stromboli is consistently good. The restaurant ambiance is cool, tons of interesting sports memorabilia throughout. Helps keep your mind off how bad the service is, okay not really. Let's see, prices are decent and portions are okay. On this visit something was terribly wrong! There was ONE (1) waitress responsible for hostessing, bussing, and cashiering. I'm not sure if she wasn't cooking too! Absolutely nothing ran smoothly this day! My family and I had to wait a half hour after finishing our meal to get our check. The first 20 minutes waiting on the check, the next 10 waiting on the waitress to come back and bring the right check! This is the deal, if the waitress would have acknowledged, offered an apology or an explanation regarding the service, this would have made things a little better. Overall the Stromboli is good, but I won't be going back any time soon.

We lived in Westerville and hadn't been here in a long time. The stromboli was still good but the service tonight was terrible! Never again.. Sat down and waited 15 mins before I went to the bar and asked if we had a server. Then when it came time for desert and the check we had to wait forever again. They weren't even busy. Our Last visit. Not worth the wait!

Some of the best Stromboli in the area here. Very consistent and great value for the money. I can't say much about anything else they have because I always get the Stromboli. It's that good.

I'd been wondering about Carsonie's for awhile. My fiancee had told me that we should eat there some time and then we went there last night for dinner. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't really look like much. Just a small building in the parking lot of a strip mall. But inside, Carsonie's was filled with small knick-knacks and Ohio State things. The menu was also filled with things to order! We started with an order of their garlic bread which was very good and we received excellent service the whole time. When it came time to order entree's, my fiancee had the ravioli and I ordered the baked penne. Both items came with side salads and bread. The baked penne was great! I plain to go back to Carsonie's sometime soon and also maybe try out the Upper Arlington location.

An easy four stars for me for the stromboli, if the service could catch up. Came here with R on a Friday night, and got a table with no problem. Ordered a stromboli because that seems to be in their wheelhouse, and we were quite happy with it. I'll have to keep an eye out for erratic behavior based on other reviews and the service was meh, but we're definitely willing to go back for another delicious stromboli. Minus one star for the service. Have I mentioned the stromboli?

So came here on a Wednesday night. There was a total of maybe 10 tables, these tables were spread out among 2 different rooms and an outside area. There was ONE waitress. Behind the bar area maybe 4-5 younger employees could be found talking it up, hanging out and hopefully helping the ONE person at the bar. However the ONE waitress was left to fend for herself and all the tables. Our food took forever, after 20 minutes waiting for pasta and a sandwich it was dropped off by one of the "bartender" people who dropped it quick as hell and ran off despite our attempt to stop her and tell her we never got our appetizer or the salad that my wife ordered. I mean she was GONE. This could have been rectified if the ONE waitress had came to check on us AT ALL during the 50 minutes we were there. As it was she never made it back until we were through eating. Drinks empty for about 10 minutes food already eaten. This was our first chance to say "hey, we never got our appetizer or salad". She didn't seem to care enough to say sorry but did say it was the person who brought us our foods fault. This is true but if you once bothered to come see us we wouldn't be having this conversation 20 minutes after our food was dropped off. This place is just ran like crap. You can tell nobody cares from previous reviews on here. Hope it finds decent management someday for the sake of anyone dumb enough to ignore the warnings and eat here.

Some of the best Stromboli I've had, anywhere. They used to have bocce ball courts outside - a lot of fun and a super unique restaurant experience - but I'm not sure if they still do. The restaurant has been very empty the few times I've dined in. I recommend take-out.

Waited an hour for two entrees. Bad service. Fair quality of food had high prices. Will not try again, considering the area is not so good anymore, traffic can get jammed up on Westerville Rd and 270.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
