Finally dropped by today for lunch, and was hugely impressed with the burger. Best I've had in a long time! Come hungry, they serve a 3/4 lb behemoth! It was cooked perfectly, had great quality flavor and the price to value ratio was right in line. I'm sure the rest of the menu is just as good, and will be back soon to test that theory.

3.5 stars. Interesting tavern with a fire house theme. Certainly is a nice feel inside - makes you feel at home for sure. It's clean and tidy yet still has a bit of divey-ness and local tavern feel. Let me start by saying the service was fabulous. It's what warranted the additional half star. Our waitress (who was also the bartender) was friendly, helpful and just really good at her job. We tried a few apps and I got the wings. The apps were ok, fried pickles I probably liked the best but nothing special. The wings were quite small for how expensive they were - $10 for a dozen. The wing sauces were pretty good, however. They talk up the beer here but I didn't find it to be especially good. They have a lot to choose from, but they didn't have and good local crafts or anything. I can imagine this is probably one of the better places to go in this small town, and if I am driving through again next time I will opt for a burger, sounds like that might be what they are best at.

Solid 4 stars. Service was great and food was just as good. Burgers was very very good. I had the steak special and it was right on point. A welcome meal for our traveling family. Well worth finding this place and checking it out.

This place is great. I had the pretzels, the mac and cheese, and a bloody mary. The place is decorated with all kinds of firehouse memorabilia from throughout the country. I went on a Sunday Afternoon so it was mostly empty, but the service was great.

Our favorite local go to. Huge burgers and cheap drinks with good live entertainment on the weekends.

I love great burgers and I know great burgers...This place has the best burgers in Central Ohio. I think they put crack cocaine in them (Joke!) Seriously good burgers- nicely sized- moderate price, but they should include fries in price--- c'mon folks with such a great product..why charge folks for the fries?? Great service - always crowed.

Best burgers around! They rival Thurmans... Get waffle fries with your meal! Cool atmosphere and great place to just have a beer. Highly recommended.

The place to go in Sunbury for home cooking, great service and a good selection of draft beers. We come in once or twice a week and will continue to. Check out the specials, they are always good. If not try the wings! Recommended!

Love our home town favorite. Good service and huge portions. Love this place. The hazmat burger is still my go to sandwich.

We walked in on a Wednesday evening and found the place full with people waiting to play trivia. There where, however, a few open tables in the second bar area located up the back stairs. Unfortunately this meant we did not really experience the overall atmosphere. Our server was nice and we had our drinks and meals in good time. My fish was nice and crispy with good tartar sauce, but the fries were almost raw. He said the wings were just okay with the breading being of a variety some may like and others not so much. I lean towards a 3.5 but rounded up based on potential.

We've been to Firehouse Tavern 5 or 6 times and each time we have been pleased. The firehouse memorabilia decor is fun. The service is friendly, and the food is AMAZING. I love the blazing chicken salad, Mac & cheese, and pretzel hoses. My grandma had the fish and chips was great. It was large and appeared to be good quality fish. Large selection of beers with good prices. Also has a nice party room. :) Great place tucked in the Sunbury square. We make the trip from Johnstown just to go there!

Pro - Hamburgers are great! Three-quarter pound is the perfect size. Although inconsistent in how prepared on several visits to this restaurant - burgers have always been above average. Favorites: "The Cowboy" and "The FDNY" - Wings are decent - best sauce is the Blazin Chipotle - Nice decor - appreciate the tribute to firemen decor Con - Beware: charged for condiment without notice. We ate here recently and told the server we needed a little bit of BBQ sauce for our Cowboy burgers. The server brought out two 4oz cups of sauce! Then added $1 to the bill and did not tell us about the charge. At a minimum, the server should have let us know about the up charge when we asked for the sauce. - Have tried many items on the menu - only recommend the burgers and the wings.

I had the spicy Italian sausage sandwich. It was quite good, spicy even! Friendly staff.

Stopped by after looking at houses and was happy with what they have there. Portions are big and beer selection is good. They worked with us for our son's gluten free food too. Ambiance is good. We will be going back.

This is still our favorite place to gather with friends and eat. I love the new menu! They now have the Fireman Brewhouse Beer - 3 different ones. The wings are still my favorite! We have always had great service and the owners care about their customers! Thanks Neal, Jess and Tony and the rest of the gang for all you do!!

Went on all you can eat wing night. The wings were good but not great. Next time I want to get a cheeseburger. Appetizers were good, got the soft pretzels and nachos. Service was good as well.

Hands down, one of the best burgers in Central Ohio. Even though it was huge, the flavor was so good, I just had to finish it. Wings are also good. Pair your burger with a nice summer shandy beer to make a nice meal.

This used to be one of our regular places until one of the head bartenders left. Since then the gentleman bartender is awful as well as placing a take out order. IF you can get through there is no one who knows what the price of items are from week to week. Unfortunately the food is good if you can get it! On multiple occasions we called 20+ times in an evening before giving up and ordering elsewhere. Haven't been back in months.

I'm going to break review tradition for this place and recommend the Smokin' Black & Bleu Cheese Salad w/ salmon, which was quite filling and good because I didn't want a heavy dinner. My coworker got one of the burgers and it was huge. The patty seemed a bit crumbly, but I think that just means the meat was very lean and not greasy / fatty. I also had a cup of the soup of the day (steak and potato) and it was OK, but not as good as the salad.

I confirm the Firehouse has one of Central Ohio's best burgers. The quality, portion and preperation were very good. I would rate it one of the top five in Central Ohio. What was right: - Food. Everything served was very good. - Service. Attentive, timely and cheerful. Owner or manager did visit during the meal. - Prices. Very reasonable. $15 per would be the high end for food. More likely $12. - Beers. A generous selection. I think 6 drafts. All priced fair. - Selection. Burgers, wings, ribs, more sandwiches and side dishes with some creativity. For improvement: Very little to criticize. - the atmosphere is Sunbury Tavern just like the name says. Neighborly, pleasant, and casual. If you are looking for chain decor, this isn't your place. - I visited on a Friday night. Was a steady, brief wait. Tables were turned quickly. The staff hustled to minimize wait. I plan to return to sample other menu items.

An amazing collection of burgers, wings, beer and everything else. One of our favorite places to grab a bite to eat when we are out and about!

Wings are sometimes phenomenal and sometimes just ok. I think it depends on the cook. I've also realized that ordering them extra-extra crispy is the difference between great wings and not so great ones. The onion rings are probably the best I've ever had especially when paired with the blue cheese dressing that may be house made (if its not, it is the best bottled dressing ever!). Burgers are good and so are the salads. Prices are excellent for the amount of food that you get.

I was in town for business and needed a good meal at a decent price. Checked some reviews and decided on Joes Firehouse. The place has a feel of a nieghborhood bar. Friendly and fun. I decided on a Shroom and Swiss burger. Holy Bejebus,It was huge. 3/4 of a pound smothered in a delicious blend of mushrooms and cheese ($6.99) added onion rings for $1.99. This is one of the top 3 burgers I have had in my life, and I made the other 2! I also had 2- 20oz Bud Light drafts. Total bill..$16 The customer beside me at the bar had a delicious looking meatloaf with mashed and gravy. The $8.99 special for the evening. The other special was all you can eat wings for $10.99. Bartender was very good and his service was excellent! The local diners were very nice and we struck up a good conversation sitting at the bar. The flow of customers was steady, which usually means I made the right choice. If I am down this way again, I will definately stop in and try their wings! Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone!

Joe's is a great little bar in Sunbury. Food is good. Prices are okay. There is a good selection of bottled beers, only a few taps, but they change regularly. The Bison burgers are awesome and locally produced. There is no liquor license yet, but they do have wine. Usually bands on Friday and Saturday nights.

We stopped in for lunch and were surprised by what we found. The food was excellent! The firehouse burger is one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. My wife had a chicken cheese steak that she said was excellent. Our server was awesome and really took care of us. There is a lot of cool firehouse stuff to look at too. We will definitely be back. The only thing that kept it from 5 stars was the beer on tap selection. Otherwise, a great place!

Came across this place by accident on lazy Saturday afternoon. Fantastic food, great service, and the drinks are top notch! They do have a liquor license and a good selection of beers.

We love coming here to have a beer and dinner. Their food really is much better than typical food you find at small bars and portion size is generous. It has that small town bar feel with a very patriotic/firehouse theme.
