My husband and I stopped here for lunch on the way to Dayton. At first I thought our GPS was mistaken - we had wandered into a residential neighborhood that appeared to be bereft of any restaurants. I even doubted the Yelp reviews when we pulled into the parking lot. The restaurant is located in a tiny plaza with no discernable markings. It took our eyes a while to adjust to the interior after coming in from the sunny afternoon. What a great first impression! The dim lighting, woodwork, the long bar open to the restaurant, the patrons, and the friendly disposition of the bar staff who greeted us reminded me of Cheers. The NCAA tournament was on and we loved that every seat had a good view of a TV. My husband ordered a Killian's on draught and I was pleased to find a Meritage on the red wine list! The wine was delicious (newly opened?) which is a rarity at some pubs. I LOVE southwest egg rolls (they are hard to find) so we ordered those for an appetizer. The sauce was a smoky ranch- type dressing which was new to me but also delicious. The egg rolls hit the mark!!! Lunch was Bangers and Mash with a dark gravy. The sausage was spicy (yay!) and the mashed potatoes were good (though not homemade?). The gravy was excellent - this was a big portion for a great price. My husband had the club sandwich with cottage cheese as a side. He finished all of that and ate some of my lunch too! This place is a hidden gem and made our weekend away all the more memorable. From the "regular" customers to the families to the staff to the anbience - an all-around great experience!

Have been a fan of Oconnors for awhile. Second time visiting the new location tonight. I really think they have bitten off more than expected. Service is poor and the food has lost its quality. Ordered appetizers and a meal and were served both at the same time. Baked potato was uncooked and cold in the middle. When asked if they could adjust the bill just for potato was told no, but offered us a dessert instead. Really need to work out the kinks of new hires and kitchen. Won't be back for awhile. Which is a shame as we have always enjoyed Oconnors

This is the best place to have a combination of good beer, food and atmosphere (adults and children) in Springfield. Beer selection is very good and food is great. Service is always friendly. Great place to meet people.

The outside doesn't look like the great Irish pub that is, so don't judge a book by its cover. Inside is a dark cozy pub with a well stocked bar, plenty of booths and tables and a very friendly staff. There is also a patio that I can't wait to try out during the summer! The menu is a mix between Classic American pub food and Irish pub food. For examples they have both nachos and mini corned beef sliders for appetizers. I had the best pork chop I have ever eaten in my entire life! The huge, juicy, tender pork chop was joined by a giant baked potato and the vegetable of the day, which were green beans cooked with bits of bacon. Yummy! I can't wait to go back and try the other things on the menu, like the fish and chips I've seem pictures of, but I don't know if I will be strong enough resist that pork chop.

Went for lunch here and the place is very nice looking. They have alot of different things on the menu which is nice and the food we got was very good. My only complaint is the service. It's lunch time and there is only 1 waitress and 2 behind the bar. The place wasn't that busy when my group was there but the service was still slow. You shoulnd't be at lunch for almost 2 hrs. My friends and i go to lunch every wednesday and this is the 3rd week we have had bad service. Places need to get more help or they are going to loose business!!

I have to change my review of this place. I can't believe how AMAZING their food is! I also love the location and all the beer they have on draft. The new place is huge and it's a great atmosphere. I'm a fan now and will be coming back for sure!

(Wow--this is officially my 100th review! Thanks to all you fellow Yelp enthusiasts who've enjoyed my reviews thus far. Here's to a hundred more!) It's kind of ironic; while I was at Wittenberg, Perkins was one of the few restaurants close enough to campus for a quick breakfast. However, with declining profits, the Perkins moved out and who should move in but O'Conners Irish Pub. I hadn't heard much about O'Conners, outside of a review from our friends Chris and Sarah, who have become O'Conners regulars. As such, when we made our way back to Wittenberg for a meet-up with some fellow gamers, we elected to give O'Conners a run. The interior of O'Conners is attractive and nicely done. The bar feels homey and the booths are comfortable. The service there was friendly, though it was obvious that one of our servers was training the other; no worries there! What did stick in my craw was O'Conners' menu. The menu on O'Conners website features a large number of items that simply *aren't* on the menu at the restaurant. Scotch egg? Not in sight. Bangers and mash? Nope. Over half of the sandwiches? Nowhere to be seen. This, on principle, bothers me. Truth be told, there was next to nothing on the menu that even remotely resembled an "Irish" pub. To me, there's nothing about O'Conners at all that's even attempting to be "Irish", or even the "fake Irish' that many pubs emulate. The only thing that even resembles an Irish dish is the 'fish and chips'... Honestly? My kingdom for a simple Irish lamb stew, a shepherd's pie, a meat pie with brown sauce, or even a British-style tikka masala. There's nothing close to Irish at O'Conners and that frustrates me. This isn't to say that our food was bad. Jules enjoyed her club sandwich and the fries were properly fried and seasoned. My French dip was reasonable, with a flavorful au jus, but the beef was somewhat dry and not particularly flavorful. Even still...I feel like I've had better at places like McAlisters' or Chicago Gyros and Dogs. And when I can get traditional American food elsewhere, that's better? That makes me want to look elsewhere. I hate to say this, but give O'Conners a pass until their menu changes. There's just nothing that really sets O'Conners apart or interesting above any other bar. If you really want a better Irish-American experience, try Dingle House down in West Chester.

Come for the Fish and Chips leave over stuffed and hammered on Guinness. Another (less hidden) Springfield classic. The only downside is the sh*ty Sringfield local crowd, who I'm sure now that is has moved to a larger location will continue to ruin this place. But as of now. YES!

Was there for lunch and it took 40 minutes to get our food. Food was good but slow. I'll go back maybe it was an off day. Love the new location and outside bar.

A clean, safe and friendly bar. Tina is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. A lot of local public service-type workers go here as well as north-end regulars. They don't put up with the riff-raff and keep the music selections to a nice balanced mix. If you follow them on Facebook you'll see they host special guest bartender nights to support various community fund raisers on occasion- a classy move. The service is always prompt and professional. The pizza is always a crowd pleaser. The St. Patrick's Day buffet deal is the best in town with a wide variety of home-made Irish grub. Beer selection is very good with a few rotating seasonal or specialty choices on tap. They have a nice cocktail menu as well. I don't live in Springfield anymore but when I'm back in town I try to stop in here for a light bite and a pint. Support this gem!

This place is pretty good. I ordered the fish and cgips with a beer. It was good but not great. The battered fish did have alot of fish. The only thing would be that I prefer a crispier fish. They were not that crispy. It was still god though so deserves a 4 star. The place was busy so it made for a nice environment. Perfect for an Irish Pub. The beer selection was great too!

I haven't checked out the hustle and bustle of Springfield Ohio for nearly a year, so it's time to get back and revisit my favorite restaurant there. This time, I got the fish and chips. I've been craving fish and chips for a couple months now, so the taste buds were primed and ready. Got there about 12:30, not too busy other than a large table of about 14 ladies in the back. I sat at the bar. Service was as good as always. Fast, friendly and they really make you feel comfortable and welcome. Like Valerie W. mentioned in her review, the fish and chips portion is MASSIVE. There's seriously enough food here for 2 people to absolutely stuff themselves. There were 4 generous sized pieces of fish with a huge pile of fries underneath. It also comes with a side of cole slaw. All this for $14.00. The fish was good, not great. The Smithwicks battering was really good, but the fish inside, while having a good taste, was kind of mushy. I'm not sure what fish they use but it wasn't the best as far as mouth feel. So not the best or worst fish and chips I've ever had. So all in all, another good visit, but next time I will try something different. They still have an Irish menu that I've not tried yet. I'm thinking Bangers and Mash sounds good. One last thing. It was cool that the bartender told me to wrap the fish in foil and bake it as opposed to microwaving it so it doesn't get soggy. Nice touch there. Nice friendly people and privately owned. Support them.

An unexpected, hidden gem in chain restaurant overloaded Springfield!! Never knew this place was here until we got the Living Social deal and decided to give it a try... Great Irish pub hidden away on a corner strip between a gas station and another random store (?) Go for the GREAT beer selection, attentive service without feeling rushed, MASSIVE plate of fish and chips, great homemade pizzas, and reasonably priced Irish specialties. Cozy booths, nice seating at the bar, sports on multiple screens, heated outside section... Looks like a Midwestern "Cheers" in the making. Will go again and hope this great spot keeps up the good work!! **Back again, at a busier (but not CRAZY busy...) Thurs. night. Still a great spot, but got the feeling we were being RUSHED out of there, even w/ tables opening up all around us. We weren't really dragging it out, just finishing up, and waitress wanted to clear everthing up and bring our check before w/ were done... I guess she was hoping to get done and out of there sooner, but not too fun to feel that rushed!!**

Stopped by here after visiting Youngs Dairy Farm. It was pretty good. I would classify it more of a pub with a Irish theme rather than a "Irish Pub". With Hockey and ESPN on the TVs and country music playing on the jukebox it definitely didn't have a very Irish feel, although the food and drink does. The food portions are HUGE!!! I ordered the Fish and Chips and received 7 or 8 decent size pieces of fish plus a full order of fries and a side of (warm) coleslaw. It appeared to be kid friendly although there is no kids menu per say, they do have kid items upon request. Hamburger, grilled cheese, spaghetti, chicken fingers, basic stuff. All in all, I would definitely go back. I bet it is a very cool place for the locals, had a very Cheers type vibe.

Meh! I was visiting from Illinois and stopped in based upon these Yelp reviews. I will give thumbs up to the beer-battered onion rings - delish! But I felt "icky" being in the place - really needs some attention to upgrading - ripped and duct taped vinyl seating. No room between my chair and the booth behind for the waitress or anyone to pass. Not the cleanest. The rest of our meal was just so-so. Menu is heavy on the fried if that is what you like. My sister was doing the beer sampler - waitress gave her a list of beers to choose from and 6 out of those were 'out'. Why not just give a list of what IS available? Good price on the beer sampler though. Also, we thought the taste of their water was heavily chlorinated - Ugh!

Excellent value. Very good food, and lots of it. 1/2 sandwiches come with lots of fries, and is plenty. Good draft beer selection. Attentive service.

I really enjoyed going here. We went for a birthday party. I just got food and it was really good. Fried cheese and onion rings were awesome. I don't live in Springfield anymore, but I enjoy going back here when I am home. I would definitely recommend O'Conner's!

Decent whiskey selection. Good call on the Jameson Gold and 12 year. Would love to see some Midleton Rare. Fine job on the blended taps, received a wonderful Black and Blue. Good pizza as far as bars/pubs go. Heaping plate of fish and chips!

Went here on a Friday night and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a good crown there but it wasn't too packed. We sat at the bar and was immediately met by the bartender and given a drink menu. I ordered the Guinness on draft and it was excellent. We decided to sit outside because it was freezing inside. I'm always cold though so don't let that deter you, they do keep the place well air conditioned. The outside crowd was lively as well. The servers were friendly and attentive. I was pleased with the ambiance and the face that it seems the crowd here is little older. Which means NO DRAMA! Excellent bar and I would return.

Best beer and pub grub in Springfield. If you want water go to any bar in Ohio. If you want a REAL BEER this is the place. No crap on tap but they do have your light weight stuff in a bottle for you. This ain't no honkietonk It's a true American version of an Irish pub. Food is good, Steak is not bad for the money. Fish and chips are GREAT!!! Huge portion. Pizza could be better though. But Pizza at an irish pub is ????

The first time I went to Oconners, I was not impressed. I did go back to give the place another try and I am glad I did!! This time we were helped by a woman named Bre ( like the cheese :) ). She was sweet as can be!! She all ways checked up on us, and had interesting conversation when she stopped by. All of the mixed drinks I ordered were mixed well and very well priced!! I don't know if i just caught them on a bad night before, But going back has defiantly changed my opinion of this wonderful bar!!!

Was pleasantly surprised to learn of this place (recommendation of a colleague). Doesn't look like much from the outside, but O'Conner's was friendly, comfortable, and fun. The food (beer-battered fish and chips) was good, too. Decent beer selection, especially for Springfield, and relaxed, professional atmosphere. Few, if any, college kids which is a plus for me. Was pleased and will definitely return.

Three words: tall black velvet. Pure deliciousness in a glass. Strongbow and Guinness. Even if you aren't a fan of Guinness, give this drink (from this establishment) a shot. I've had it elsewhere and the level of deliciousness did not equal that of O'Conner's take on it. The food is damn good too, by the way. Baller fries!

I want to like this place. The beer selection is good, but the food is usually disappointing. On our most recent visit, my husband got the fish and chips and the fish was mostly breading. My sandwich was cold. I think we will stick with beer on future visits.
