Extraordinarily good food with friendly service to match. I have eaten here multiple times and have tried just about everything. I would say the ribs are my favorite for now though. They do not offer fountain drinks though, only canned soda but when eating authentic BBQ like this you don't care what you're drinking. The dining room is extremely small (6 tables I believe) but there is plenty of picnic benches outside. For me this just made the place feel more personable and I absolutely loved it.

I thought the Q was awesome! Had the ribs, wings and beans. A lot of reviews are complaining because there was a lack of smoke flavor. Personally, I love bbq but not a fan of smokiness so this was perfect for me. The sauce was great. The beans- YUM! Best I've had. I did not try the mac n cheese but my daughter so it was tasty. We WILL visit again!

Stopped in here today because it was nearby and I had heard good things. I've got to say I'm not too impressed. My brisket was fatty and bland, and the green beans i got were ice cold! We didn't get a chance to try anything else, as they were sold out of everything but pork and brisket. The service was friendly and speedy, the atmosphere is family friendly. Overall not worth my time, probably won't be back.

mmmm....the ribs are really good! had the right amount of smoke and sauce. Nice and tender fall off bone. love the baked beans and sauce too.

Super obsessed with this place. We go as often as possible. The meat is amazing and the sides are fantastic. My only complaint is it closing at 7pm and not open on Sunday's!

My favorite bbq is brisket & my favorite brisket is from Just Q'n. It's flavorful, smoky, & most importantly moist. I don't use bbq sauce, so especially with brisket, if it's dry, yuck. Not theirs. I've carried out several times & eaten there a couple times. I dream of the juicy brisket & unbelievable mac and cheese, the best at any barbecue place I've tried. I've also tried their bbq green beans, which were just OK. My husband, who is a bbq pulled pork connoisseur, didn't care for theirs, mainly because he didn't like the sauce. He also didn't like the ribs because (this is his very unique preference) they were TOO tender for him. (Yes, he likes TOUGH ribs.) You guys failed at that one Just Q'n, sorry! LOL! So, therefore, most people should find the ribs to be to their tenderness liking...However, my husband also loved the mac & cheese and tried the smoked chicken (which he usually never gets anywhere & wasn't even expecting to like) & LOVED it. Staff is also always friendly & helpful.

The ribs were falling off the bone so tender they were cooked to perfection wasn't my favorite sauce ever but don't need sauce with ribs cooked this well. I thought the Mac n cheese was good the green beans ok but the smoky bbq baked beans were the highlight of the meal

I'm pretty sure in a past life I was a pork connoisseur ... I love pork and I'm really picky about my pork. With that said I still usually dive into new places with an open mind because you never know when you'll get the best pulled pork sandwich of your life. That didn't happen for me this time, but it was still a darn good plate of pulled pork. There was a side addition of slaw...a little on the vinegar side, which isn't my favorite but with the type of sauce they used the flavors of it all married quite well. It was nice to have the opportunity to give Just Q'in a try at the Pig & Whisky Festival!

With time to kill before my flight out of Cincy tonight, it was important that I satisfy my bbq jones. I chose this place as a second since the first was closed today. Wait, it's Friday afternoon- what a stupid day to be closed I now ponder. But here I am on default at Just Q'In. And I'm slightly disappointed. My fault as my urge and desire set the expectation. Plus the Yelp review. The service was wonderful, my Pulled Pork Sandwich brought out quickly. The outside tent and picnic tables is a great place to eat on this beautiful day. Unfortunately, the sandwich was only 3 stars in my opinion. The slaw was good and I liked the addition of chopped celery in it. The potato roll was the right size and fresh. It was the pork that disappointed. The meat itself lacked any pizazz or flavor to make it special. I tasted no spices, tangyness, or burst. It came from the sauce that was smothered on. Just too much for my liking. The sauce was just ok and smacked of too much ketchup or tomato based ingredient although it was dark orange. All in all, with the lovely attentive counter girl and the quick service, the sandwich met my BBQ fix but if back in Cincy I will try my first choice- if open!

Moved out of state a few years ago. Every time I come back home to visit I've seen this place on the corner and have been dying to give it a try. We finally did and it was well worth the stop. Great price, amazing food. Laid back with some cool music inside. We will most definitely come back again!

The religious theme is a little jarring, but *wow* - that Texas-style brisket is *amazing*. Couldn't get enough of the bark and I haven't found anywhere close to this in the Cincinnati area. The "we're out when we're out" is comforting too - no leftovers here!

I have never given a restaurant one star, but we were so disappointed with the food here. The staff is super nice, but the BBQ meat is so dry it's hard to eat. The side dishes are a little better but that's not saying much. Don't waste your time, go to Eli's!

My husband loves ribs. So for Valentine's Day we had a little trip to Cincinnati and I had read about this place being mentioned as being so good. We had no idea what to expect, but when we got there it's a small place in a small town, but big flavor! It was the best pulled pork I've ever had and he loved the ribs. Oh and the Mac and cheese is awesome.

Last night my partner dined in here. And I use the term "dined" loosely! Well the ribs were "okay" and for the 1/2 slab 13.99 for a little hole in the wall was "way" overpriced as were the side of smoked baked beans 2.00 and half of it was sauce. Not impressed at all. I had the wings 6 for 5.00 and they were "okay" and a bit dry. The side of mac and cheese was very good 2.00. I asked for a cup and some ice with my Pepsi and was told "We don't have ice"! What, on a 95 degree day, you do not have any ice for your soda pop??? We definitely will "not" return again. BTW, my ribs and baked beans blow these guys away! My intention is to be honest and anyone could prepare what we had at home for 1/2 the price and probably be much better quality.

It sounds like this place either has good and bad days, or people are really picky. I hit it on a good day. Lunch was the pork sandwich topped with slaw. Immense sando and lots of flavor. Quick service. It's not Eli's but nothing is in this town. I would rate it third behind them and BBQ Revue. Not everything can be Franklin BBQ in Austin, people!

No matter what your religion, this Christian establishment is where you will get the most delicious, smokey barbecued ribs around. Tender, meaty and heavily smoked, these ribs will fill you up due to the overly generous portions. The sides are fresh and diverse. The cold slaw was a favorite, vinegary and full of chopped red onion, yumm. The Mac and cheese is dense and buttery while the green beans and baked beans are both smoked and wonderful. True comfort food to fill the stomach, heart and soul. One slab of ribs with 4 pint sides yielded 2 full meals for both my husband and myself with leftovers still.

Giving this place two stars only because I only tried the pulled pork sandwich. Just a couple problems. 1.) Pork: Pork was lukewarm, if that, and when there was no sauce (most of the sandwich) the pork didn't taste like anything. No hint of smoke. No taste of a rub or seasoning of any kind. I'm on a sodium restricted diet, so I'm very sensitive to the tang of salt and still nothing. My wife's pulled pork tastes better and it's made in a slow cooker. 2.) Sauce: I'm not a huge BBQ snob. I don't go around the country trying to educate myself on BBQ, I just want the stuff I eat to taste good to me. So, I don't have a problem if the taste comes from the meat or the sauce. This had neither. There is only one sauce option and I've got better bottle of Bulls-Eyes in the cupboard. 3.) Pork, Part 2: I like a pulled pork sandwich to be pulled pork. My sandwich included thin strips of pork between giant chunks of pork. Someone clearly got tired of pulling the pork and I was left with the unenviable task of masticating the flavorless hunk long after the fleeting taste of BBQ sauce and cole slaw had fed. 4.) Cole Slaw: I have no opinion on the cole slaw because there was barely any on my sandwich. 5.) Price: $6 is not a lot to pay for a GREAT PULLED PORK sandwich. Unfortunately, a GREAT PULLED PORK SANDWICH is not what I was served. Sorry folks . Not going back to take a chance on the rest of the menu.

Good BBQ, ribs were a little dry and they are always out of cornbread, but def a worthy place for a quick bite with no frills. :-)

My husband and I split a Goliath with Mac and Cheese and Cole Slaw. He's been talking about this place since they catered an event at work. I have waited months to actually get in to try it. We usually go by after they have closed at 6pm but apparently they are switching to their summer hours soon which means they will be open till 9pm. The Goliath was perfect for us since we'd been on the bike trail and we didn't want to over eat. You might want more food to split and the food here was Amazing!!!! I loved the slaw - might be my new favorite! And the meat was so good and tender. Their sauce is really different - can't put my finger on it but something in it was really good. The Mac and Cheese was golden and appeared to have Kayan red pepper in it but didn't taste spicy. Really like it!

My go to BBQ place, ELi's, could not accommodate a picnic order For 6 people, so I called Just Q'in and they were so helpful. I had never had their food and was nervous to serve to guests. Rave reviews by all!! The Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy. The cole slaw was fantastic and the perfect compliment to the pork and BBQ sauce, if you are one who stacks. The corn bread had just a touch of sweetness and heat. He pork and BBQ was smokey and tangy. Great taste! Will definitely use them again.

This is one of the Cincy's gems! By far the best BBQ in the city. Smoky, moist meat that is only enhanced by their unique and mouth watering sauce. I LOVE the pulled pork sandwich with slaw right on top. My husband always gets the ribs and they are equally as good. For the sides-the baked beans are pretty amazing as well. The owners and employees are super sweet and seem enthusiastic about their product. Miss the old location next to Wags park- but will drive the extra little bit for this BBQ. They are often found at many festivals and festivities around the city. Don't pass them up!

This is a fast food version of BBQ. Decent, but not worth coming back for. Do not get the rib tips - very tough, chewy, and not crunchy or seared properly. The best I've had here is the pulled pork - tasty, but once again, nothing spectacular.

Picked up some dinner here on the way home, around 5:30. This review is based on my meal, the "Goliath" with Mac and cheese and BBQ green beans. When I walked in I was treated warmly, and quickly ordered my food to go. The interior looks nice. It's small, but well appointed and certainly smelled good. My interactions with the staff were brief, but they were quite friendly. My food came out shortly after. When I got home I opened up the box. For some reason the brisket was minced, or broken into very small pieces. I've never had brisket like that before, and would rather not have it again. It was not crispy at all on the outside, and was just soft all the way through. The flavor was ok, but not as smoky as I expect from a good brisket. It seemed like it had been sitting in a hot box or something for a while, and I got the scrapings from the bottom of the pan. The second part I didn't enjoy was the Mac and cheese. It had a good flavor(clearly they use real cheddar), but it seemed to just be overcooked macaroni with some cheese. It was not creamy in the slightest, and seemed to have no attempt at a sauce of any kind. Very disappointed with this. Again, it seems like this was sitting in a hot box for a while before it was served. The green beans were pretty good, although a tad greasy. My last gripe with this place was how over the top religious it is. They don't just have one thing on their wall saying "god bless", they seem to shove it in your face. I know that's their prerogative, but it seem much to much to me. Overall I just didn't enjoy my meal. Also, $13.50 for the amount/quality of food I received seemed quite high. Maybe I expected more? Maybe I came at the wrong time? Maybe I got the wrong thing? (Neither of those last two should matter with food quality) I'll be back again to try something else, so I will update then. Hopefully it will be better next time.

This place has it ALL goin' on in the delicious BBQ department! I had the pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese- and it was unreal! I am usually disappointed with mac and cheese pretty much everywhere I go- but this is the real deal. They are a small place, so sometimes certain menu items might not be readily available because they are making more but it's probably worth the wait. Price is average- I paid 8 bucks for a sandwich and side. Place is VERY small, as in like 3 or 4 tables, but they have places to sit outside as well, and we went around 12:30 on a weekday and 5 of us were able to get around a table with no real problem. Service was very friendly as well. Will most certainly be back- just wish I lived closer so I could frequent!

First of all I would like to say, I will be going back to eat more "Q". The size of my chopped pork was more than enough for two people. I tasted the meat and did not taste any smoke. After adding the sauce it was great! Shouldn't "Q" taste smoky without added flavorings?

Pulled pork was tender but had no flavor. no smoke, no rub...nothing. the bbq sauce was also pretty flavorless. I'm bummed, its close to my house, but just not that good.

The ribs alone earn this place a five-star review. To be clear, the pulled pork and brisket are above average, but not stellar. But the ribs are absolutely the best money can buy, and this is coming from a BBQ fiend. They are absolutely amazing. I mean unbelievably mind-alteringly life-changingly amazing. They are great ribs. The corn bread is good too, if you like it sweet. Other sides are good, but they are a bit pricey. The ribs are where it's at. I could eat those ribs every day for the rest of my life and die fulfilled. I feel weird ordering a dish called "Judas", though, so I think they should rework some of the dish-naming. I don't think the crowd that Biblical food names appeals to would find that attractive... But make sure you go early, because the secret's out and this rockin' BBQ is known to sell out. We've always had trouble getting the brisket if we wait until late in the evening, but who cares because the ribs are where it's at. Mmm mmm ribs.

We went inside to wait for some friends, cute little place, a few too many flies, but they are bad right now. I ordered the slingshot, beef brisket sandwich, one of the best I have ever had. The Mac and cheese was good. We sat outside because my friend brought her dog, it would have been so nice if they had had a couple umbrellas on the tables. Over all very impressed with quality of BBQ. S

The ribs steal the show here. Brisket is chopped only and the pulled pork was good but lacked that deep salty goodness I was looking for... But paired great with sauce. My children loved their Mac and Cheese.

WOW! We drove by here for SOOO long without stopping in, and now I regret all that lost time. The food is wonderful!. I get either the pulled pork or the brisket. Everything has a beautiful smoke ring and is very flavorful. I'm a bog fan of the sauce too. Get there early if you want some corn bread, it's good so it goes quick. We love the mac n cheese and the potato salad. We have also taken home the ribs for larger family dinners and were impressed with those as well. Yes they are a christian establishment, they are out there "Being the church". They don't talk about it and they don't push it on you it's just who they are and should have no bearing on whether you eat there or not. Actually for me it's a plus, they are genuine people preaching with their actions instead of their words. Good family place, I highly recommend.

Stopped by here as we were leaving Wags Park and saw the smoke billowing out of their parking lot set-up. I had the sampler platter, $10, two ribs, three wings, small portion of pulled pork and some coleslaw. Very good deal for all that food, and the flavors were solid. I'd rate them third on my list of Cincy bbq behind Eli's and Velvet Smoke. My only gripe was with the biblical propaganda being stuffed in your face. Even as an active Roman Catholic, I thought their approach was a little over the top. It just didn't seem appropriate. That doesn't take away from their food, but it might make me pause about visiting them on my next trip to Wags Park.

Very religious (Christian) establishment. They have a cross in their logo for christ's sake... I assume ;) All of their menu items are named for biblical characters. I probably should have ordered the Judas, but it was chicken and I judge all BBQ by it's pulled pork. So, having not burst into flames on my way to the ordering counter, I ordered the David (pulled pork sandwich with slaw), except they were out of slaw, so I was offered extra sauce as compensation... That took me aback. When you're pushing the sauce, what does that say about the meat? I declined, just give me the normal amount. It came out with extra in a cup on the side, so that was good. Definitely a big boy's sandwich portion! Lots of meat, sweet sauce, large bun. Meat was tender and moist, though the meat was only a bit warmer than room temp, and the sauce was room temp, cooling the pork even more. I don't know if it was hidden by the sauce, but I really didn't taste any smoke flavor. There wasn't really a smoke ring noticeable on the meat either. Really a shame, because I saw wood for the smoker, so where was the smoke flavor?! In their defense, they said they had run out , and a new batch was just coming out when I got there (but wouldn't it be warmer if that were true?) but that might account for the lack of smokeyness, if it was a rush-job. I wouldn't say it was necessarily bad, but it could have definitely been better. Pluses: tender/moist pork, Mac & Cheese. Minuses: food temperature, lack of smokey flavor, and bringing religion into a business setting. A business (in my opinion) should be like a polite conversation. One should not speak of politics or religion. My 2 cents.

Dear Lord, Thank you for your many blessings in life. A special thanks, Lord, for the beautiful animals that you guided Noah to save on his Ark. Namely, the pig and the chicken. A further thanks for guiding that very special human being who discovered that smoking those said animals and smothering their meat in BBQ sauce was a revelation of biblical proportions! Hallelujah! I ask you to watch over those who have perfected the art of southern style smoked BBQ, in particular, the fine folks at Just Q'in in Newton, a beautiful Eden-like community east of downtown Cincinnati. These shepherds of the Lord are true miracle makers, creating some of the best BBQ and BBQ sauce in Cincinnati (along with Eli's). Their vinegar based cole slaw is beyond choice and their mac and cheese is an angelic creamy delight. In addition to offering sandwiches, ribs, and side dishes for the single hermit, they also offer catering for an entire flock. Also, while I have your attention, thanks so much for sending the Reds to the playoffs this year. I know it's your will to have them win or lose those upcoming games and I thank you either way. In your name I pray Amen

Pigs Beware! This restaurant is delicious, specifically their pulled pork! Juicy and tender, it's tempting with OR without sauce...meaning you don't need to cover up the flavor of the meat with their incredible bbq sauce, but you can if you must! While waiting, don't be surprised if they offer you a rib or two while you wait, if so, don't pass it up as they're also delicious. Beef brisket? yep, tender and juicy too. Chicken? try it, you'll love it. Mac'n'Cheese? Incredible. If you're looking for ambiance, this place has a small dining area, mostly used as a waiting area, but I eat there...mostly because I like to converse with the employees, who are always friendly and willing to chat if they don't have a line of people waiting for them. Definitely a regular stopping point at Just Q'in...my stomach wonders why I have to pass it everyday!

I love this place. Their food is terrific. Matt and all his people are very nice, too. I confess. I've eaten here at least 12-15 times to date, I live nearby and can smell the BBQ pit smoke if the wind is coming from the right direction. In fact, I've been there four times in a single day. I got a sandwich for myself for lunch. A friend came over and had a bite and loved it, so I went and got her one. Later on, I was driving my son home from practice and being a teenager he was hungry, so got him one too. That night, what did the kids want for dinner? You guessed it. Pulled Pork Sandwich: This s one of my favorites. Piled high on a nice large bun. Comes with a small side of cole slaw (very tasty). Of course, I ask them to put my slaw on my sandwich. $6 Their brisket is very good, but not outstanding. Maybe I got it on a bad day, but I thought the meat was little tougher than I prefer. Flavor was great, not too much fat on the cuts - just a bit firmer than I like. Will report back on that. Beef ribs:Wonderful ribs, cooked to perfection. A full slab is $20, or they sell them individually for $2. The first time I ordered a slab, I was surprised to see that they had cut all the ribs apart for me already - which was a bit disappointing. Turns out, the beef ribs they use actually are so large and meaty that it would be a bit challenging to get them apart without making a complete mess all over yourself. Thanks for cutting my ribs, Matt - I don't see doing it any other way. Plus, when I get them for my kids - it's easy to give each one of them the same amount and they can't squabble over who got the bigger ribs. Side dishes: Baked beans (very good), mac and cheese (mediocre), cole slaw (very good) and green beans (ok).; I'm not there for the sides - I want meat. And sauce. Of course they sell large family-style combinations of pulled pork, brisket, and ribs with sides. Three sizes: large, insane, and way too much. I've gotten the "large" many times and it easily feeds six adults, no worries. I really enjoy Just Q'in and hope they are fabulously successful. I'm lucky to have them as neighbors and consider them friends. Good people making great food - that's what it's all about in my book.

Barbecue sauce was way too sweet with no tang. Pork was moist but had little smoke flavor to it. After hearing so many great things about the barbecue, I was really disappointed.

Well, they're not downtown, they're in Newtown now, and the hours are different, but they still have the street vendor truck so I guess they're downtown too. Wherever you find them, don't pass by. This is some fantastic BBQ. We got the brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings and ribs. In other words, everything. It's obvious the chef played on the competitive circuit. Everything was moist and full of flavor. BBQ is about the meat first and foremost, this place gets it. If all you have to brag about is your sauce, well, it says something about your actual BBQing skill. The sauce here was near perfect, mildly sweet, mildly spicy, and it complements the smokey flavor of the meat, not drowns it. They were out of 1/2 chickens and baked beans when we got there at 6:00 on a Wednesday, it's all about timing, and if a batch turns out less than expected, they won't serve it. So, it demands another trip, and I can't wait.

Well, I love BBQ anyway and have tried them all and love most but here is my story on this establishment. I got home from a very hard ... pounding day at work and was exhausted and hungry with nothing to look forward to but to just raid the frig. To my surprise when I turned on the kitchen light some angel (that could only have come from heaven) had placed several samplings of this menu on the table. As I dug in, the tender meat on the ribs seemed to just melt in my mouth and every attempt to slow down and saver each bit was in vain. The pulled pork was also great. The next morning my angel, I mean wife asked me how I liked the BBQ sauce...what sauce? Didn't even miss it but now I can't wait to go back and experience "the sauce". Yyyeeeeuuuuuum!

I have passed by this place a million times, and every time I'd pass it I'd say, "Wow, that smells great, I need to stop in sometime." FINALLY, I stopped in today. I had the "David", which is a pulled pork sandwich with a side of slaw. I also ordered a side of Mac & Cheese and side of BBQ Green Beans. The David was $6, the sides were $2 each. They do not have fountain drinks, just can drinks, and it's Pepsi products (thank God). The slaw is not creamy or the sweet slaw; it's the vinegar-type slaw. I just KNEW it would not taste good on my sandwich. I was WRONG. It was delicious. Their sauce is the best sauce I've tasted so far. It beat out Eli's for my personal #1 spot. Their macaroni was delicious. But the BBQ Green Beans were to die for. Just fantastic. In fact, the whole meal was so good that I ordered the exact same meal to eat for dinner. Service is great, staff is very friendly. They bring your meal to you after you go up to order it, then they check on you a few times to make sure you're doing okay. The only thing I would want is a fountain drink machine so that we could have cups of ice with our drinks. But I will definitely be coming back here.
