I'm a big city gal (and I DON'T mean Cincinnati) but I appreciate country charm, and this place looks exactly like you'd expect a little country restaurant in the boondocks to look, little cozy booths against the walls, plus basic tables. Even benches out front for the locals to "set a spell" and shoot the breeze since there's probably not much else to do in this town. I call this a restaurant though, not a diner, since there's no sit down counter, and as everyone knows or should know, it takes a counter to officially make a diner. In its place is what would seem to be the big takeout area. As Catholics on a Friday we couldn't order meat so we each had a different fish entree with two sides. Tons of sides to choose from, on the menu plus about six daily side specials. Food was fair, not really well seasoned. Happily I took one of the specials, apple crisp, which was deeee-lish, as in scraping the bowl good. My husband was disappointed that his baked potato was accompanied not with butter, but with that gross "spread" stuff which I thought very odd for a joint out in the country. Cheerful and friendly service, nice clean place, and I've a strong feeling that broasted chicken is a delight. Also note there were a dozen or more varieties of fresh baked pie that comes from a locally owned family bakery. Hope to pass this way again and have a shot at that chicken, too!

Servers are friendly. The food is simple and very tasty. The servers will get to know you and will interact well with the family and may even join in with the wife and kids to pick on dad (me) all done in a friendly manner. If you are ever in Mechanicsburg, this is one of the few places to eat, however this is the best by far.

Absolutely delicious broasted chicken! Great comfort food in a warm, friendly setting. Homemade pies and breads. Four piece chicken dinner for $6.99. Yes, this is the classic, small-town restaurant with delicious comfort food and friendly waitresses!

Quaint, family friendly, really good food - especially the homemade dessert selections. Delightful service staff - cordial and efficient. Will lobby for chicken & noodles as a regular menu item! Cash or check only (w/ATM on site if needed).

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday workday. Was happy to learn they serve breakfast all day every day. I got the western Omlette. Lotsa cheese! Madison was my server. She was nice & attentive Great experience.

Mechanicsburg, Ohio. Great country cooking! Small family owned restaurant in a small town where every one says hello. Servings are huge and the price is right. Oh! I almost forgot to mention the homemade pies!
