First timers... I gave up on Italian food in Ohio being from NY it just doesn't cut it here - until now. It's not NY, but it's gooood! I'd recommend giving it a try... All the food is freshly made in the kitchen - pasta and all.

Popped in based on yelp reviews. Place had a very cheap, almost dirty feel. I ordered the pasta with vegetables, I did ask to go easy on the oil and maybe not over cook the veggies. Needless to say, the noodles were drowning in oil and the veggies were cooked to an almost soup like consistency. Aside from the taste of oil, the meal was without any other discernible flavor. Overall, disappointing.

My husband and I decided on a whim to try this place and were so impressed! We loved the family run atmosphere, our waiter recommended sangria that he had mixed that afternoon and also offered samples of the beers my husband asked him about. The drinks were delicious! Their salad dressings are all homemade. LOVED the balsamic! All of our food was rustic and full of flavor. You could tell that everything was made from scratch. We will definitely be back!

This place is great! The food is awesome and they have a cool "Godfather" atmosphere to the place. It was completely dead when my girlfriend and I ate there (not sure why???) maybe because it is easy to pass right by. Just so many businesses on Lincolnway that it blends right in. Look for the Red White and Green fence with the "Eat at Vito's" sign. Definitely worth giving it a try!!

Thursday night pasta bar is the bomb!! This was our first time here and I keep wondering how we've not heard about this place before. Fairly non-descript from the outside. You can drive right by the place with the painted wooden fence that encloses a large outdoor patio. The outdoor area looks like it would great fun in the summer months. Who knew? We are always looking for places with a patio and good food. Inside - basic booths and a old bar with pictures of Frank Sinatra and Godfather posters hanging. Sounds of Frank Sinatra fills the air waves. They bumped a two top up to booth to make room for our party five. This place makes be kinda think I'm at an all time favorite, Twin Anchors in Chicago. Our flannel clad, bearded waiter, Erick, was fantastic!! He was friendly, attentive, and a great conversationalist, who just happens to be a published mathematician / biologist!! Food.... House salad with the suggested specially made champagne vinaigrette dressing is nice sized and lovely mix of spring greens. Salad was Accompanied by a basket of Italian bread with just the right amount of crunchy crust and a olive oil / vinegar dipping bowl. The hipster cooks make your made to order pasta with your choice of sauce and pan stir ins including capers, sun dried tomatoes, anchovies, chicken, Massillon made fresh sausage, spinach, kalamata olives, plus a host of other great veggies and fresh garlic. The dessert cannoli plate includes two stuffed shells which is just the right size to share. This place just became one of our favorites! Casual, really good food, good prices and great staff. Grazie di tutto

4.5 stars. Vito's is one of my go-to places in the area...for so many reasons. Small, quaint, family owned, and super friendly - Vito's also boasts some of the best value for pasta, seafood and especially steaks. This visit was the first time I gave the behemoth "the godfather" a try. A 18oz delmonico cut steak for $25. I've has these at fine steakhouses (for the low, low price of about $60 mind you) and Vito's does just as good of job with this steak. It was cooked perfectly med rare and seasoned to perfection. The crab cake app was very delicious and they also have some really nice salads here. Especially the grilled romaine - that's a must try. Not everything here is blow your socks off good, but you can tell they put a lot of effort in their food - and it shows. Vito's may not be the best restaurant in town but it's in the top handful for me for most enjoyable. Either for a quiet date night, a quick dinner with the kids, or a few drinks at the bar, Vito's should be on your short list of choices.

Best in area. The pork chop to die for. Stuffed sole outdid the chop, great combo. My wife fell for the mike with the brownies.

Been here a few times. The chicken diablo is my favorite dish here. A fresh tasting fettuccine noodle with perfectly grilled blackened chicken with a spicy diablo sauce. Have not had a bad meal here. It is very very easy to miss as you are traveling down Lincolnway. They desperately need a new sign. My dad loves the chicken Caesar salad with grilled romaine lettuce.

This was a great Italian place. It has been a while since I was here but I thought I would review it anyways. The reason why I was compelled to review this after so long was because of the grilled romaine salad that I had. To be honest, when the waitress recommended it I was not sold but got it anyways because I figured she knew what she was talking about. This was the best salad I have ever had. It was so different and so fantastic that this place should get 5 stars based on that alone. The calamari was tasty too! The atmosphere was nice and relaxing and the wine was wonderful too. Our service was really great, I love when they recommend their favorites, especially when they turn out to be marvelous!! I will absolutely be back here and I will be getting the grilled romaine!

Our new favorite spot to eat. A friend told us about their Thursday night made to order pasta special. We tried it!! We are now loyal customers hook line and sinker. Come to find out they have a different special nightly. The kitchen and service staff at Vitos is outstanding. Freshness and taste bar none...You can tell alot of love and a lot of hard work goes into what comes out of thier kitchen. Front of the house staff very friendly and efficient..

Family owned, Godfather themed restaurant. The food is above par and will be coming back time and time again. The staff is limited but is great at keeping service. Not to mention very friendly. Be sure to try the brushetta, pairs well with the diablo pasta.

Wow. Another great meal. This time we went on Thursday night for the all you can eat pasta bar $9.99 plus drink. There are three sauces and three noodles to choose from. You then get to choose from several vegetables along with chicken and sausage. The chefs cook the meal to order while you watch and wait. This is a must try on a Thursday night from 4p-8 pm

Had dinner here for the first time & can't wait to return! What an awesome date place! First, we were told that bottles of wine were HALF PRICE! Yes, please. Shared stuffed hot peppers for a most tasty appetizer. Dinner was generous portions of pasta with delicious sauce. My dish was called 'pasta Vito'-chicken, sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, banana peppers, creamy spicy sauce-mmmm! Dessert was neglected in favor of more wine ;) The food, service, & atmosphere were all top notch!! Thank you for a wonderful experience! !

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
