Would be 5 stars if the decor wasn't from decades ago, but the pizza was GREAT!!! I got pepperoni, and it was so good I couldn't stop and finished the whole thing. My friends got the Gyro and Mexican and loved theirs! The pretzel appetizer was incredible. It was so fresh that we had to wait a few minutes to eat, because it was so hot! Service was fine. A little slow, but we weren't in a rush since we were going to a hockey game. And they were really nice and helpful with the menu. All the beer on tap was not your normal Miller and Bud. They actually let my friends taste all the different beers they did have on tap. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Dayton!

I love Bostons. It is pretty much everything I look for in a bar--great food (I love all of the pizzas), amazing beer selection, laid back atmosphere. If you want to go to a slick nightclub, this is not the place for you, but if you want to have a conversation with friends over some good craft brews, Bostons is perfect. As others have said, the decor is dated, but I think that adds to the atmosphere. Service is laid back too, but again, that's the kind of place it is. They have great specials; we like to go in on Sundays for the $15 large pizza and two drafts. I only have two complaints: I wish they opened earlier for lunch on the weekends (not open until 1pm), and I wish they were located closer to home.

Not you standard pizza place, has a lot of Hungarian ingredients. Really good quality, obviously handmade, great if ur tired of regular pepperoni pizza etc. also, the soft pretzels are Awesome! And a great selection of beers

I come to this place every time I'm back in Dayton. Good craft beer selection, homemade pizzas, and solid juke box. Lots of tables help accommodate any big crowds, and a large outdoor patio for when its not below zero. Pool table is near the back of the bar.

Comfy, relaxed atmosphere, and helps not to be in too much of a rush, since as previously stated, service is just sort of so-so. We went to try w/ a Groupon for a lazy Sat. nite dinner/few drinks, and as it's close to the holidays, with several large groups, we were sort of ignored for a while, but eventually got drinks, menus, then, with a bit of searching for a server, finally waited on and served. Pizzas were good, hot and fresh, and offered some unique flavor. I'd go back again to hang out, but not in a rush, or with anyone impatient... Great selection of beer!! Want to go back in warmer weather and hang out outside on the patio!!

If you like boring American beers, this is not the place for you. In fact, if you're not adventurous with your pizza this is not the place for you either. The spud pizza and the maygar delight are both great pizzas. HINT: If you're not a feta cheese fan, try the Maygar Delight pizza with provolone instead of feta. You'll love it. I promise. Service can be slow, but they actually have signs telling you to go to the bar and order. They often don't even have wait staff, just bartenders.

Absolutely delicious food!!! I love the artisan pizza and craft beers. I also love the fact that I can play darts and pool while there. Love the outside fire pit on cool spring and autumn evenings. The only downside for me is the limited hours.

Positives: Great neighborhood watering-hole atmosphere. The menu is limited to primarily Hungarian inspired paninis and pizza, but they seem well done and the prices are very reasonable. I had one of the paninis and a pretzel. The panini was full of bold flavors and the pretzel with mustard and melted cheese dipping sauces was hot and tasty. Will probably try one of the pizzas next time. The bartender was friendly and engaging throughout, so, along with some of the banter from the other customers, he really added to the experience. Negatives: I wouldn't have a problem bringing my kids here in the early evening while it is slow, but at the end of the day it feels more like a bar than a restaurant, so that will not be everyone's cup of tea. Conclusion: if I was just rating this place as a restaurant, I might have gone with a three rating. But as a neighborhood bar with solid food, I give it a four.

We decided to stop by Boston's for dinner, hoping to find another talented local mom and pop to support in our area. The reviews seemed great, and we liked the idea of seeing a Hungarian menu in little Dayton! When we drove up we didn't let the dated, kind of run down appearance get to us. It is the charm of some of these places, no? Unfortunately for Boston's, in hindsight the appearance of their restaurant reminds me of our experience: pieced together, dated, loud and disjointed. Disappointing. Get ready for plastic utensils and cheap paper plates with a stainless and ceramic price tag! To sum it up, they used very few fresh ingredients, messed up our drink and pizza order, then severely overcooked our child's pizza. The service was outstanding however, as was the beer selection, says Hubby! Also, they had some unique menu items we didn't try like soft pretzels, Hungarian pastry and a gourmet sounding grilled cheese with smoked Gouda that might have turned out quite enjoyable. If you are looking for above average bar food this is your place! They are friendly and everything one would expect of a local neighborhood bar. Otherwise, with prices I would expect to pay at a contemporary pizza house I don't see us returning.

Fun! This is kind of a roadhouse dive but they have a great beer menu, a terrific selection of Hungarian wines and a small but tasty menu filled with Hungarian inspired pizzas and sandwiches. I think most go there for the beer but I shared a pizza and a panini. Both were excellent and I would go back for more without hesitation. I ordered a glass of Tokai Aszu and I think it was sitting for awhile. The bartender said it wasn't in the POS anymore either. I've had better. The nut roll is sent out warm from the oven. I would bet they keep it frozen or refrigerated then slice to order. I would slice it thicker so it doesn't dry out but it's very delicious. Our service was fine and the prices are great. What's not to like about this place?

More of a bar than restaurant. Limited menu, somewhat slow. They have some interesting pizzas but wouldn't go out of the way for it. Would not bring kids.

Boston's has the best beer selection of just about any bar in the Dayton area. They always have Arrogant Bastard on tap if that's your thing, and usually when stone is pushing some other draft they've got that too. Good bottle selection. Their pizzas aren't really the normal sort of pizza, but they're delicious. Try the Mágyar Kolbász pizza, you won't regret it. If you do, please send me the rest of the pizza. The pretzels are good too. There's free popcorn. They have a good jukebox. The bartenders are usually very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help.

Excellent craft beer selection and great pizza! The bartenders are all very friendly and knowledgeable about craft beer.

This is a better bar then the clown running it deserves. Food is good, beer selection nice, outside fire pit is awesome. Having said that, I'll never come back. You have to wait in line for like twenty or thirty minutes to get a drink. When I finally get my turn to order one of the two miserable bartenders begrudgingly gives me a beer. I don't know if the management is just too dull to recognize this as a problem or they just don't care. Either way, lesson learned.

This place has an amazing beer selection. My biggest problem is ordering food, which tastes great but is rather expensive & takes an inordinately long time. I've had them completely forget to bring me my food. Definitely stop by for a beer but I'd suggest you eat before you go.

Try the cheese panini w/h Zwack slaw. There's a sweetness in the crunchiness of the panini bread and the mild sweet spiceness of the Zwack slaw is to die for. This is a most accommodating place the crowd is ecclectic, the service staff friendly and professional. Just step up to the bar place your order and enjoy your self. The craft biers are awesome! Remember great bier takes time and life is not to be rushed.

I had the best pizza ever, the Magyar Pork Kraut. It had Hungarian sausage and peppers. The crust was sublime. I also had a Hungarian white wine, the marika badascony szuar something. It was super with the pizza. This is a great local haunt with personality. When I drive by Dayton I am definitely going to eat here.

Boston's is a great neighborhood place to grab not so neighborhood beers. They have a vast selection of specialty and import beers. The owner is very knowledgable in recommending certain beers and even pairing them with meals. No exaggeration, they have some of the best pizzas i have ever had. Very unique. I recommend the Greek, and Mashed Potato pizzas specifically. In addition to the food the atmosphere is causal and cozy. It has activities for the competitive type and little nooks for the conversationalists. The beer garden is also a great feature when the weather is nice. I definitely recommend Boston's!

Hands down the BEST pizza in Dayton. (Actually, the whole menu is great!) Personable and knowledgeable staff, superb selections of beer on draught at any given time of the day/night, and I love that they actually ENCOURAGE you to taste test their goods! Comfy, relaxed outdoor area including fire pit for those chilly evenings and usually has a great mix of patrons from all walks of life. That's what makes Boston's a great neighborhood pub, in my opinion. Oh, and I like the fact that Boston's is active in the community. That really says a lot about an establishment in this day and age.

Dayton's Boston's Bistro & Pub was dubbed by Stone Brewing Company as "The Most Arrogant Bar in America" for selling more of Stone's Arrogant Bastard than anyplace else on the planet. Despite the title, guests shouldn't expect arrogant service. Owner David Boston's family has been serving drinks to Dayton residents since before Prohibition, and at his eponymous bistro and pub, that tradition of service continues. Visitors will find more than a dozen taps touting such limited-release suds as Boulder Beer's Flashback 30th Anniversary Ale. What's not on tap likely is represented on the 150-beer bottle list.

Excellent pizzas. We love the Magyar Delight, Bold Barbecue, Premium Pesto and more. Neighborhood, laid back atmosphere. They care about good craft beers and usually have a superb selection.

Five stars for the beer selection. It is exotic and changes often. 3 Stars for the decor, but really if that turns you off to this place then you are really missing out. I can't grade the food becuase I haven't had it. You don't come here to eat. Try and make it to the "Most Arrogant Bar in America" Party when they win the contests (they have quite a few times)

This seemed like the kind of place we'd really like; locally owned, interesting selection / unique food (Hungarian inspired), great beer selection, we actually wondered why we hadn't heard about it before since it's been around for a very long time. The atmosphere was very, well, interesting, looked like it hasn't been updated since the 70's, really old carpet, cushions in the booths looked like they were going to fall apart, ok so we're here for the food, maybe these things all just add to the character of the place? Oh by the way, there was a small dog that made it's rounds around to all the tables (actually visited us more than our server, not sure that we really had a server, more on that in a minute), dog was very friendly and entertaining but a little odd, maybe more of the place's "character"? After sitting down and waiting for maybe 10 or so minutes with no sign of service, I watched a few people get menus from the bar, so I proceed to the bar to order drinks and gather menus, was asked at that time if I wanted to start a tab, I should have gotten a clue at this point I think. We ordered what was supposed to be their specialty, the Magyar delight pizza (Hungarian chicken, feta, spinach, tomatoes, Alfredo sauce, bacon, maybe a few other things I can't quite recall), also ordered a pretzel, and some of their zwack slaw (Hungarian twist on cole slaw). After we ordered we watched a few servers (I suppose) walk around and take orders from a few tables, did they know something that we didn't? I still really don't know what we were supposed to do, did they have waiter service or did we do the right thing? Who knows really. After about 30 minutes the person that took our order at the bar walked by, I told her to bring our pretzel and slaw when they were ready because we were starving, it really shouldn't take much time to get a pretzel and slaw ready, right? About 10 minutes later they came out, our pizza soon followed, it was almost 1 hour after we walked that we were given our food, we actually considered walking out before the food was served but they had already swiped by credit card (remember the prompt to start a tab). The pretzel was pretty good, really big, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside (my wife thought it tasted stale), the slaw was so so, really tangy. The pizza was another issue, the first thing I noticed was the sauce tasted like jarred supermarket Alfredo sauce, very very thick and that was pretty much all you could taste, it overpowered everything. I could see the chicken and feta on the pizza but couldn't taste it over the Alfredo, reminded me of eating bread-sticks dipped in Alfredo sauce. We fought over the pieces with lots of bacon because that's the only flavor that cut through the sauce, we were very disappointed. We felt bad leaving so much pizza behind so I went to the bar for a box to take with us, after about 10 minutes of smelling it in the car we promptly found a trash can and disposed of it, netiher of us had any interest in eating it again. For food and service Boston's would get 1 lonely star but they do have a pretty decent beer selection so two stars overall and that is being very generous. I really hate to add a locally owned establishment to my wall of shame list but because the service and food were so horrible that's where they belong in my opinion (and my opinion is what it's all about, to me anyway!)

Love the food and the service has been much improved over the last six weeks. If you haven't been in a while make a trip and see the new stuff cause it looks like they are keeping everyone served and happy.
