Steak & Shake is Steak N Shake is Steak 'n Shake. They even all kinda look the same, you know? I won't belabor the point with a wordy review, but I want to note one weird occurrence at this particular SnS that bears telling. Our waitress took her time to write down our whole order, and then insisted on trying to recite it all by memory. Maybe she was practicing to be able to memorize orders? That's cool, really, but man... it took her quite a while to dredge it all up from the muck of the teenage brain. She was a great waitress all-in-all, as far as that goes, but, her slow, beleaguered conjuring of our recent order was borderline creepy. Aw, now I feel bad for the girl. You were okay, whatever your name was! Her nametag ended in an emoticon, like this :), and then an exclamation point! That's totally something I would do, rock on!

Met at the door by Kayla who immediately took my wife and me to a table, despite how busy they were. She then continued to take care of us by taking our initial order of drinks. I ordered chili 5-way which I had not eaten for a while anywhere. It was loaded with perfectly cooked spaghetti, red beans, onions. The steak burgers were great, moist and juicy and I love the shoestring fries! Our server was great. She noticed when our drinks were in need of refills before we even asked!

Maybe I'm being too much of a New Yorker about life, but for a relatively empty restaurant, the service was slow. We were hauling ass from St. Louis to NYC and this pit stop took 30 minutes out of the commute. The food was good enough, the folks serving it very pleasant. I had the chicken sandwich with fries, and my colleagues has no complaints about their burgers. They forgot one of our orders, which led for a bit more time wasted. The food was okay - the wait was the only deterrent.

Not good service this time. My hubby and I requested to have our milkshakes after our meal BUT we were given our shakes during dinner...

Service was very slow at 3:36 AM.. Place wasn't busy at all and our food came out an hour after ordering. when our food came out one of our orders was wrong and cold. Our waiter was sassy with us when we corrected him on our order which was rude. Very poor quality

Hey, Yelp! Unfortunately, my experience here was poor and wretched! We stopped here after a toss-up between Stake N Shake and White Castle (which is across the street). We opted for Stake N Shake due to their selection of shakes and sweets. We used the drive-thru and had no problems placing our order and the line moved quickly. I ordered a number 6 with a strawberry shake. The number 6 consisted of the Frisco Melt and fries. The Frisco melt was sloppily thrown together in such a way that the "special sauce" was gushing out of the sandwich into the wrapper for a complete mess. In addition, the bread was soaking up grease from the burger patty in addition to the already greased/fried bread. I mean c'mon people! I recognize that this establishment does indeed serve fast fried foods but this was ridiculous. All I'm asking for is a little pride and care when building the sandwich! To top it all off...I found hair(s) -plural- in my food! Ugh! I had to try hard to keep from audibly gagging! The fries were flavorless...except for a lingering aftertaste of grease. The strawberry milkshakes are not made with strawberries. Instead, it is made of syrup and "Red # whatever" dye. This gave the shake a distinct artificial taste. But maybe some like that taste. The hubs asked for no whip cream or cherry on his shake. But wouldn't you know it! The shake came with gobs of whip cream and a big 'ole cherry staring him in the face! Just "NO!" Smh!

This was a complete accidental stop. We were looking to try White Castle for the first time ever, and were too hungry to wait. Now, I find myself thinking about Steak and Shake sometimes. I got a normal cheeseburger, but something was magical about this burger. It wasn't greasy, the meat was perfect..it was like I wasn't in a fast food joint but a burger that I had cooked at home. Now, I'm not one for milkshakes, but of note, they separate the shakes down the middle. A strawberry/banana shake will be completely pink on one side and yellow on the other. Also, the food is CHEAP. I visited Steak and Shake again while in Orlando and I had a guacamole cheeseburger, fries and a soda for $8....and it was sit down service! amazing. definitely a chain that doesn't get enough props. Also, I believe many of them are 24 hours...I'm grateful that I didn't go to college near a Steak and Shake as I can only imagine the damage I would have inflicted on my health on those college binge drinking nights.

The best food I had in Chillicothe. My girlfrend and I split a burger and a shake. Both were well prepared and tasty. As well prepared and tasty as fast food can get. Guess I have them an extra star for being the best food we ate here. Oh, and if you're passing through town, be sure to catch the outdoor drama. "Tecumseh" They always have tickets and it's well worth it. Great fun. Well acted and lots of pyrotechnics.

Steak N Shake is a good place to go for a quick steakburger, steak fries and a delicious shake! Steak N shake may have the best milkshake of any fast food place I have ever been, and I live in California so to top In-N-Out burger really says something. The milkshake is thick, creamy, and full of whatever it is that you want in your milkshake. The fries are standard and their steakburger's are good but nothing spectacular, but I do have a special place in my heart for their Frisco Melt, now that's a burger!!!

I have always liked Steak N Shake when I noticed it about 15 years ago in the Columbus area. They have really good steak burgers, shoe string fries, chili, baked beans and spaghetti minus the bottled chili ketchup type sauce. One just needs the regular chili, onions and cheese. They also have a good tasty strong coffee, and milkshakes. So for a decent sit down meal for under $10 come here. They also serve a good breakfast.
