The last time I placed on order online the e-mail confirmation said delivery would take about an hour. Approximately 20 minutes after receiving this e-mail I received a phone call from a woman at the Parsons store. The woman told me they wouldn't deliver to my neighborhood after dark................ This is where I gave the phone the "stink eye" for a few seconds. I told the woman that they had delivered to my home on several occasions after dark. She then assertively told me that I must've been mistaken, as if I was oblivious to the goings on in my life. I calmly informed her that the previous delivery order I had placed was just a few weeks prior to this and was delivered after dark. She then told me in that "I-really-don't-want-to-talk-to-you" voice, "Well, we don't deliver to your neighborhood after dark any more." I'm sure if you're reading this review you probably already know where this Papa John's is located. It's not exactly in a neighborhood that's going to be featured in "Fabulous Communities Weekly". I wanted to tell the woman that their store location is in a far worse neighborhood than where I live, but I didn't. Needless to say, Papa John's just lost a customer.

Placed an order online. Only for them to call an hour later and inform us that they couldn't deliver to our area (despite delivering 3 times before, to which I have online receipts to show). Stated we could pick it up instead. One would think its a better idea to verify you can deliver to the customer before making them wait an hour for the order to be made. Only to realize the stores mistake and call the customer telling them to come pick it up instead. After asking if I could get a refund, they stated they didn't know how and that I would have to call the online number instead for a refund. Surprisingly, they also didn't know that information either. Useless, start to finish.

If I could give negative stars I would. Just like most other reviews I placed an order online and got the confirmation email that it would be 30 or 40 minutes. Great. 50 minutes pass and still no delivery. I checked my email again thinking I missed something and sure enough I not only got a "we cancelled your order for no good reason" email but a "by the way we authorized your debit card for the full amount and we aren't going to release the hold your bank will cancel it automatically" email. That's 10 days for me. Called the store and they said they don't deliver a block up from them after dark. I don't begrudge anyone their safety but if you build your establishment right in the middle of a community then have the nerve to insinuate it's not a safe place after dark then you don't deserve to be in my community. And if it's not a question of safety then it's a problem with the staff or owner. Either way I'll never order here again. I suggest you take your money and show them we don't need them in our neighborhood.

I wish there was an option for zero stars. I just tried to place an order for delivery with Papa Johns Store #363 on Parsons Ave in Columbus, Oh. I recently purchased a home in the Franklin Park neighborhood a mere few blocks from The Franklin Park Conservatory. Its a new and upcoming area in Columbus with an active Civic Association and involved citizens. Its been a welcome change from my old neighborhood, Whitehall OH (an area named the #1 city for Crime in OHIO and a place papa Johns delivered to frequently at all hours and times of the day). So, imagine my surprise when I received a call letting me know that despite the fact that the website says DELIVERY HOURS 10am-1am, that they don't deliver to my home after dark. A safety concern for their drivers. Silly me! I was just out walking my dogs 10 minutes before placing my order and I didn't get shot once! I'm not saying this area doesn't have crime and doesn't have problems...but we are proud and committed to improving it. This policy is tantamount to racism and classicism. I was informed I could "pick up my order"...so you're saying it's not safe for your drivers to come to my home, but perfectly acceptable for me YOUR CUSTOMER to risk my life to drive to your location? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? There is nothing dangerous about delivering pizza to my home after dark-this isn't a war zone it's an urban community with crime (less crime than WHITEHALL), if I wanted to go get food I would-I want it delivered to my home-not because I'm afraid to go outside, but because i'm lazy! All I can say is your competitor Donatos got my money and their driver (who will be delivering to my home AFTER DARK) will be getting a substantial tip. I know there was a murder. It's sad, but that was 5 miles away and a VACANT HOUSE! I'm sorry a man was killed, but that sounded like a setup and lack of common sense. Once they actually spoke to me they could have known I was legit. There are lots of resources-Google maps, more than one driver, common sense if you don't feel safe. They are losing business for life. And based on past reviews this has been a policy in place for a long time.
