I like the environment and the quality of the food here. It seems to me they're trying to emulate North Star, which is just down the road (and far busier). However, the taste of the food at Mozart's is only slightly above average, whereas North Star is fantastic (which accounts for the difference in wait time on a Sunday morning). This place isn't BAD. It's just that it's not GREAT. The reason it got three stars instead of four is because I find them to be expensive. It's a fine option if you're looking for a place better than IHop or Bob Evans for weekend breakfast, but aim for a place like Skillet or North Star if you're looking for phenomenal.

I just love Mozart's! I live nearby and have been there probably about 5 times in the last 2 months for dinner and several more times to pick up desserts from the case. I really cannot believe some of the negative reviews on here! Everyone I have taken there has loved it! I have never had a bad experience with the staff. I have never had to wait too long for our food to come out, which can happen sometimes at "non-chain" places. The food is good and reasonably priced for the good quality that you get. You can tell the food is prepared on-site, not shipped in frozen and reheated like at some places (i.e. Applebee's, Olive Garden). We're even having our wedding rehearsal dinner there as they have a big banquet room. :)

Meh-zarts: We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It's just a block from our house, so we were excited to have a new place so close. They have done a great job in renovating the building, but they have made some seriously strange layout and decorating decisions. The pastry counter dominated the entry area, but there are tables lined alone the opposite side. There are then a few separated dining areas and a small outdoor patio. Although there were 8, yes 8 people in the counter area, we had to wait to be seated while the 9th person was failing to answer questions to another "customer". We were then seated within 2ft of the piano even though there was only 1 other table of guests in the section, and an entire dining room adjacent. None of this was really that annoying; it's just a sign of a very under-experienced staff. I also found it odd that there were no less than 9 people working the front of the house and there were only 3-4 tables being served at any point we were there. Anyway, on to the food. I ordered the veil schnitzel sandwich. The bread was excellent, as was the veal cutlet. It was dressed with a pathetic pale, flavorless slice of tomato, onion and lettuce. This sandwich really could have been a winner, but the toppings were a complete after-thought. Speaking of afterthoughts, the sandwich was served with a side of bargain food-supplier potato chips. WTF? A house side of any sort would be a nice addition, or, at least better chips. Back to the service. The waitress, who was polite, was very inexperienced. She came to the table often, but didn't refill drinks. My experience at Mozarts was by no means bad. It was very disappointing however. I hope this experience was merely a function of opening a new restaurant. On a positive note, BRAVO to whomever created the wine list. It is FULL of very well selected wines at FANTASTIC prices. If nothing else, I will be visiting Mozarts to enjoy their wine list. And, of course their pastry selection and quality is really top notch. Nothing to complain about there.

I agree with an earlier reviewer who said that there are some very odd design choices; the building itself is beautiful, and the wood molding is nicely restored. But the floor is straight out of an MCL Cafeteria, and there are even some rips in the linoleum. The paintings and dried flowers have a somewhat folksy but ultimately old-fashioned quality. Which is probably why the place was CRAWLING with senior citizens. Nothing wrong with that, but be prepared for the same kind of ambiance you'd get at Windward Passage. It is definitely an older crowd. On to the food: the meat items are consistently good (Schnitzel was tender and crispy on the outside), as are the carbs (great Spaetzle). But the vegetables (salads, lettuce and tomatoes on sandwiches) are alarmingly anemic. Service: Our waiter was inexperienced, bordering on incompetent, but very eager to please. The owner was walking around checking to make sure the wait staff was doing a good job, so this issue may work itself out with time.

A really popular neighborhood bakery and restaurant. I really liked my pork loin sandwich. Busy for lunch and brunch on Sunday-- does not offer dinner menu before 2 p.m. On Sunday

I planned a surprise 60th birthday party in May at Mozart's for my dad. Everything was wonderful. The set up was very cute. We had a very nice room in the back to make the surprise even more special. The food was good and the service was wonderful. Thanks to Janelle for all her assistance in planning this event. I would def go back to visit or plan another party. My guests and I also enjoyed the cafe. We all got gelato as well as we left. Loved this place.

The store is nice, and the waitresses were very nice and polite. We had 4 different types of pastries, and we didn't like them at all. They were so sweet that we could not taste any flavors. Whole Food's has much better pastries with the same price range. If you try pasties from Belle's Bread, Yummy Bakery, Pistacia Vera, or Tuula's European Cafe (and if you're not addicted to sugar), you may come to the same conclusion. It was the first and last time I bought pastries from this store, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Mozart was quite possibly the BEST restaurant we went to in Columbus. We went there for breakfast. Their breakfast pastries were fresh and delicious. We ordered an Almond Croissant. It was flaky with generous sprinkles of almonds and a delicious almond spread. Their scones were huge! I ordered a Walnut Cranberry scones and was in heaven! The scones were moist and flavorful. I totally did not need butter or jam. This was as far as you can get from the dry scones that Starbucks serves. Their breakfast menu was extensive and quite impressive. I ordered a spinach omelet and was very pleased to see that it was cooked beautifully. Kids had their own special menu. The owner thoughtfully had a section filled with Legos and books for kids as they waited for their food. Wonderful wonderful place! We will definitely be back!!

Mozart's is a fine example of a five-star business. I've visited their new, much larger location several times now. I love it. The atmosphere makes you forget about busy High St just outside. Piano music fills the air, sometimes played live by a skilled older gentleman - tipping him was a no-brainer. The interior is a combination of open spaces and more intimate enclosed rooms. You can reserve a space for large parties. The pastries and desserts are still stunningly good. The marzipan peach is STILL my favorite. I love the selection of things you get for afternoon tea. Just make a reservation! Other than the new (renovated) building, the biggest improvement is the food itself. The food at the old location was consistently 3 to 4 stars. Now, it is consistently 4 to 5 stars. Excellent work!

When Mozart's opened its new location, there was plenty of excitement. Would they be able to keep the intimate feel from their previous location (currently home to Harvest Clintonville), and would the expansion be good for business? Looks like the answer to both of those questions is yes. Partitioning the large space into a flowing set of rooms, one can have dinner, stop in for dessert, attend a music event, or hold a reception at Mozart's. The bright display of pastries, cakes and cookies remains temptingly near the entry, which is at once comfortable and open. Mozart's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Definitely order a breakfast croissant for melt-in-your-mouth savory flavor. They have many options, from sandwiches to breakfast platters. Lunch and dinner options are varied, but once again, a suggestion - the weiner schnitzel is wonderful, as is their salmon salad. Save room, though - you can't talk of Mozart's without talking about their sweets. First off, they have the BEST ice cream in town. Sorry, Jeni's; sorry, y'all - but it's true. Vienna Ice Café is the best. Second, cakes are their specialty and it shows. From almond-based to triple-chocolate Sonata to strawberry champagne, there is a cake that will become your favorite. Also - marzipan of various kinds. Cookies, plunders, croissants, crème horns - you can find something to satisfy your sweet tooth. Their coffee is great as well, blended espresso drinks and coffee floats. The Saha's are truly part of the Clintonville community. They give generously to the Clintonville Community Resource Center, and during the polar vortex of 2013-14, they opened up their banquet space for several days so kids and families could come in and have a day-off day-out, complete with hot chocolate and cookies. Every year on Mozart's birthday, they have a celebratory open house with proceeds going to the CRC. Looks like Mozart's is here to stay for a long time.

Things have apparently gotten a lot better around here in terms of service and in terms of tea and accommodating people with food allergies/intolerance. I finally got to a point in my life where eating wheat and gluten is off the table after about 8 years of issues---before it was "trendy" to be gluten free. Believe me. There is nothing trendy about it. I miss you regular bread. With a 24 hour notice when I made my reservation, I was able to be accommodated very well. Gluten free bread, toast instead of scones, etc. I felt like I was very well taken care of, because I know some places, the answer is to just eat whatever it is without bread, which works most of the time, but I'm glad it wasn't the case today. Thanks for accommodating me. : ) tea was lovely.

Sad. I really wanted this to be great. I headed for brunch with my sister and our significant others and the Northstar line was just way too long. Mozart's seemed like a good choice, I've never heard bad things and the marzipan peach is just famously delicious. We all tried different things and no one was excited about any of it. We ended up with an $80 tab for less food than expected and nothing super great to show for it. I had a portabella sandwich (chewy and the crust was so hard it cut my mouth), my husband had the Tyrolean Special (not as much food as they imply) and we split a waffle (one small belgian waffle). I think my sister had an omlette that was just ok. I just can't think it would be a good idea to come back unless its for the desserts.

My husband and I had breakfast here one day recently, and it was a bit different, but very interesting. It was one of the specials that day. It was a biscuit with sausage gravy, 2 fried eggs, and a pork schnitzel. The pork schnitzel was excellent. The eggs were, well, eggs (that's a compliment - I love eggs, but there was nothing especially unique about them), and the sausage gravy was fair. We split the meal and added a side of potatoes. The potatoes had a nice flavor in the seasoning, but a little less seasoning would have been preferable. Our order was definitely a sufficient amount for two, so splitting the meal kept it within our budget. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Overall a good enough experience that I would definitely return.

I'm a little scared to write a so so review as from the other reviews apparently the owners stalk bad reviewers. The food just didn't pop and I could get the same thing many places. True I got a turkey club...kinda basic...and, again, nothing wrong with it. Just when you hear of a place for years you expect to be wowed. The decor is pretty awful. It's a huge place but I felt like I was back in a restaurant I worked at in the late 80's. It seemed like a very old place so I thought maybe the owners were in their 70's or something. Apparently not. There was a piano player also which, to me, also seemed very dated. The menu also was very old fashioned. The pastries looked delicious and I bought one for later. I have yet to try it but will. So this is the thing with a place like this: Will I go back? No. Not because it was bad but because there are so many other restaurants that are much more innovative and good in a city like Columbus. Update: I moved my rating from a 2 to a 3 because the chocolate/carmel/peanut tart was AWESOME. But the extra star is just for the bakery portion.

We've been to Mozart's twice now. Our last experience was better than our first, but still left something to be desired. The first time we went, we waited about half an hour for a table. Inexplicably. It wasn't particularly busy, but the hostess kept saying "someone will come out shortly..." and it kept not happening. We almost left, but ended up waiting it out. I got a smoked salmon dish and my boyfriend got a breakfast sandwich. They were okay. The standout part was definitely the torte and the marzipan peach we shared. Those were delicious, and definitely why we came back a second time. This last time, we didn't have to wait at all, which was in stark contrast to our first visit (in a good way!) We both ordered the breakfast sandwich. Sadly, I didn't like it half as much as the dish I got the first time. It was egg, cheddar cheese, bacon, and ham, but oddly, the cheese and egg were super bland and even obstructed the taste of the bacon and ham. I had to take apart the sandwich and just eat the ham and bacon to get any sort of taste, which was strange. They were $10 a piece, which seems pretty pricey for something that we could do (better and cheaper) at home. The desserts we got were good, again. I liked the cookie much more than I liked the vanilla petit four. Service was good both times. I think I've come to the conclusion that we need to come here only for dessert. Their food has seemed lackluster, bland, and a bit overpriced for my taste. Maybe I'll give it one more shot but, in the meantime, I'll think of Mozart's as a place for unique treats alone.

Went with a group of friends for high tea yesterday. There was 7 of us total and we were seated alone in the far dining hall. It was super nice to be alone as we were dressed in lolita and that makes a lot of people stare. I got the orange pekoe tea but didn't really taste the orange in it. The scones and spreads were the best part of the meal! I could eat those all day. We had a vegetarian friend that they gladly switched out the meats for during the "main" course. Those were hit our miss as I didn't care for some of the bread but over was good. Dessert was nice with three treats. The cookie was the best one in my opinion. Another item I could eat all day. High tea cost us roughly 20$ after tax. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a cheaper high tea than a lot of other tea houses in the area.

This was an experience that I wanted to be excellent, but alas... We arrived for a date breakfast this weekend for the first time to this restaurant about which we had heard so many good things. Despite the name there was no music playing, be it Mozart or otherwise. The pianist is there between the hours of 11 and 3, we were told. Music lovers take note. We were seated in a booth, and my wife's side was a sticky mess. The waitress came by, cleaned it for us, and then left us alone. After 15 minutes with no coffee and not even water she returned and with a smile told us a young man would be with us soon as his shift had just started. Then she left. Still no coffee, and not even water. Shortly, surly boy arrived and we were able to order. My wife ordered the brewed coffee, and I got the Rock Me Amadeus, brewed coffee with a shot of espresso. While my wife's brew was very light with little discernible flavor, my espresso was very strong and tasted of the classic bitter roast traditional of Vienna roasts, which make it only a step or two milder than an Italian roast. I was in Heaven. God it was good. I may return just for that. For our meal I ordered the Prelude #4, a smoked salmon omelette and my wife ordered the quiche Lorraine. My omelette arrived loaded with salmon, spinach and cream cheese. The smoked salmon was of an age, however, that the smell from each bite fought against the delightful presentation of the meal overall. The quiche, on the other hand, succeeded on many levels from the presentation to the layers of favors from herbs to the Black Forest ham and eggs. The bread that came with each meal is worth the trip in and of itself. That the server brought butter that steadfastly refused to yield any flavor whatsoever was frustrating. What I still can't get over, though, is that they serve Welchs jelly, the same stuff you can buy at the cheapest of wholesale grocers for the lowest price because there's little actual fruit involved in its production. Really? Really. For that bread? It would have been like putting Turtle Wax on your Ferrari. Try this place, just don't go in with high expectations. The decor is beautiful, and I appreciate that the owners want to bring a piece of Europe to our fine neighborhood. I think they missed the mark, though, on both the quality of service and food.

Went there for gathering of 18 people at 2 tables. Service was good. Everything was good. I had the Paprika Chicken because I spotted it on the online menu. Very tasty, I wish the serving was a little bigger, at least the sauce. The pastries? Get outta here!

The atmosphere of Mozart's is a little strange. It's stiff and feels like it's trying way too hard to be elegant. I've only ever visited Mozart's when I have a Groupon. Without a Groupon or some sort of discount I would say it's fairly overpriced. The best thing about Mozart's is that they serve breakfast all day. Its a little weird for a place that's trying to be so upscale, but it makes Mozart's a nice option when I want crepes at 4pm. The last time we visited, my husband got a burger that was actually really juicy and tasty. I got a waffle with fruit topping. And we shared some drink that was like an iced coffee float. All in all, it's a decent albeit overpriced place.

Went for their afternoon tea. It was a great experience! You have to make reservations for the tea, but it was worth it. Everyone was friendly, the food was good, and the live piano in the background made it extra special. We definitely plan in returning and would recommend this local gem.

Very nice array of food choices; the menu is very extensive. A bit hard to read, but ok. Pleasant surroundings with attentive Service. Desert choices are outrageous as you would imagne. Whats with the small tables?

I have stopped by the new Mozart's location a handful of times, but only to pick up some delicious sweets to take home from their case up front. Finally, I was able to stop by for a sit down lunch. I think the new place is great and is perfect for Mozart's and I think it finally encompasses what the owners truly visioned, but could not achieve in the previous smaller space. They kept the decor pretty simple with darker more subtle tones and lower lighting for a taste of slightly refined ambiance. Normally I hit up Mozart's brunch menu, but with a new location I wanted to switch it up, so I ordered a chicken schnitzel sandwich. It was A-OK, but nothing to write home about. I have to say though... I was VERY disappointed with their potato salad.. It lacked any kind of flavor and the potatoes were just off. It wasn't the best I've ever had. Luckily for Mozart's their delicious desserts saved the meal. Their Moonlight Sonata Cake is really delicious. I highly recommend it for chocolate lovers and even for the not-so chocolate lovers, because it's not overly rich. The Vanilla cake in between sets it off perfectly. Also their Marzipan is some of the best in Columbus! You really MUST give it a try! Service was good, quick and efficient, but nothing overly remarkable. The thing I really like about Mozart's is that it's a place where you can come in looking UBER nice, or you can come in fairly casual and you won't be judged. Don't let the pretentious look of the place and piano scare you off... It just has that Clintonville easy going vibe. As much as I would LOVE to give Mozart's a four or five star review.. I just can't. They still need to work on their other dishes to take them from bland and meh to WOW, but desserts are already there.. believe me!

I can't speak to the quality of their desserts, but they look delicious. My friends and I usually gather here for brunch. The coffee and food are all wonderful. Their breakfast sandwiches are ridiculously good. The only down side is the service. It's soooooo slow! I mean, Sundays are great for brunch and taking some time to enjoy your day, but I certainly don't want to waste 30 minutes of it sitting at the table with empty plates and drinks, waiting to even see our server to get the check. I'm giving it 3 stars because if it wasn't for this place being in the perfect location for my group of friends to meet up, I don't know that we'd actually seek it out. Mozart's has become a little home for us on Sundays. And while it's not the best, it's certainly good enough for us!

I'm really surprised about some of the negative reviews on here. I absolutely loved the the atmosphere, interior decor, and especially the food! We came for brunch on a Saturday and I had the smoked salmon sandwich on European rye bread and a large cafe latte. It was excellent. The other dishes at my table were the daily special - also a smoked salmon plate with potatoes and eggs- and a quiche. All four of us really enjoyed it. I will definitely come back!

I wish we had Mozart's in Temecula. Oh the pastries! Oh the coffee! Oh the live music on a grand piano! Besides ice cream, they also have Baileys and Kailua to add. If you sit in the "sidewalk cafe" area, you can hear the piano and it's quieter than the busy main room. The staff was all attentive and customers seemed to be happy with their large portions of food. I look forward to a return visit.

After writing my last negative review the manager of this business has been stalking me, calling me and texting me through social media to remove my negative review. As long as I get harassed I'll just keep posting true same negative review.

I came here with such high hopes but was let down on every level except for the service I received from the waitstaff. My mother and I went to Mozart's last week for our annual mother-daughter luncheon after hearing several good things about the restaurant. When we arrived we were seated promptly and our waitress was very attentive...almost too much so. She was young and appeared to be new, and I overheard the owner of the establishment barking orders to her and other staff members. After we got our food we decided to take the rest of it home as it was extremely underwhelming, dry, and COLD. When the owner came over to ask us why we were leaving, we told him the food was not very good and he proceeded to glare at myself and my elderly mother until we got up and left...I felt so uncomfortable and irritated with his behavior that I skipped the pastries entirely, much to my disappointment. I will not be returning or recommending this place to any of my foodie friends, primarily because of the owner's HORRIBLE attitude and treatment of his staff. You could hear him yelling at them throughout the meal and one of the female staff was clearly on the verge of tears after an encounter in the back with him. For a place that is trying desperately to market themselves as "high end", you'd think he would treat his staff and customers with a bit more respect.

OMG! The size of that scone!!! I was looking so forward to good eats when we ate here today based upon reviews and the goodies that smile at you as you walk in. And then it went downhill. This is a conflicted 3stars because although the food was tasty the service made the meal LESS tasty. Apparently we got hit by a combo of a newbie server and them being up to their eyeballs in people. But if the server was that new perhaps some help with a mentor would've helped the person. We got our drinks fairly quickly after being seated but hubs had to ask three times for a straw for his drink and the milk for my coffee? There was just barely enough in the container for my coffee and I had to ask for a spoon. Nothing like stirring your coffee with a fork. If I had known there was a refill station around the corner I wouldn't have even bothered with the server. But what really tore it was when we saw everyone else getting their meal in a timely enough manner for the amount of people they had in there (including a table next to us who sat down some time after us but got their food BEFORE us). Hubs got his salad but I didn't get mine; then server asks me if I wanted mine before my entree - well, yeah! Then we waited and waited and waited until I was ticked and we flagged down server and asked what was the status of our food? Server goes off to check but guess what? All of a sudden someone else brings out our food and it was warm but not hot. And hubs' spatzel was cold!!! This led us to believe that our food had been sitting waiting for someone to come and bring it to us for some time. Complained to manager who apologized about newbie and their being so crowded and took some off our bill but the experience left us wanting to just get out of there and bypass those yummy looking deserts. Again, the food was tasty even if parts of it weren't the right temperature and our server was in over their head. If service had been better this would've been much higher than a just barely 3star. We will probably go back but not sure when.

The food is consistently above par. I highly recommend the chicken strudel. Victoria is a new server there- you should ask for her- very respectful and quick- so sweet. The manager, however, wouldn't come over upon request when I wanted to compliment Victoria. I did not appreciate be brushed off like that at all.

OMG! What a total disappointment -- our server was awful and so was our food. The beef stroganoff was tough and so salty we couldn't even eat it. Chicken was overdone-- salmon salad had one ounce of salmon and was an entry!! It was just terrible. No ambiance. Sat in a ball room with marble floors -- then thought we'd let them redeem themselves with dessert-- ordered key line pie that looked awesome and had no lime flavor! Will never go back.

Went here for the first time for brunch. I liked the atmosphere of this little place. They had a pianist playing music. The food was yummy. I had their Belgian waffles with their home made berry sauce, home potatoes, and bacon. Their Lorraine quiche was pretty good and so was their omelette. I'd definitely come back for brunch again

After such a great review a month ago it's very sad to have to report that my fiance and friends and family will not be visiting Motzarts again. Since I began coming to Motzarts on a regular basis (1-2 times a month) and spending quite a lot on food and deserts in addition also inviting friends and out of town family to come experience Motzarts...this has now come to an end. My friends, family, my fiancé and I know this restaurant is a more high level establishment, however, as my fiancé and I were eating dinner with our two friends (first time visitors of Motzarts) we were enjoying each others company and fellowship and we were laughing at stories shared and having a great time... then the owner came out and put his hand on my fiancé s shoulder and addressed the table and said we all needed to be quiet. We all were taken back by this. We were not being obnoxious or any louder than on previous visits and yet the owner came out to tell us to be quiet. That does not hit as hard to me as the owner laying his hand on my fiancé s shoulder. You do not touch a customer. You do not touch anyone without their permission. What we hope is what probably happened was a "stuffed shirt guest" who thinks they are more privelaged than others in the world complained, which was odd because the table next to us had two small children being louder than anyone else in the restaurant. However, the approach and way the owner of Motzarts handled it was very poor. Aside from us not being able to talk normally while eating now...he touched a guest. No on that. My warning to future guests...make sure you whisper to your table mates and also be prepared for someone to come and lay their hands on you unwelcomed. So sad, but until I receive an apology, and moreso my fiancé...we will take our business, money and appetite to another establishment.

Pleasant desserts I was driving on High street and noticed Mozart's so pulled in for dessert. The display case is right on your left when you come in. Plenty of them looked tasty, but I decided on the key lime pie and fruit tart. The fruit tart was pretty good. I can't say it wow'd me but it did have good notes and fresh fruit. The key lime pie was ordinary, did not stand out.

I have been here and the old location many times and while the cakes and scones are delicious, the service here is unbearable. Don't act like you are a high class restaurant just because you have a $250 truffle with gold plated paper. There is no excuse for the poor service and snobby waiter at the pastry area. I ordered a cake here and wanted a "happy birthday" chocolate piece decoration on it and was told that it's impossible because "they don't have a baker here". This is at noon and half of your store is a bakery and you don't have a baker on staff ??? Should I be worry that your pastries are days old then? When I was paying for the cake, he took my card and then handed me the recipe and left. He didn't even pack the cake or stay to take the signed recipe. I actually had to chase him down to give him his copy of the recipe because there was no place to put it. As good as some of their pastries are, their services have been so poor way too many times for me to ever come back. Pistachio vera in German village and north market has cakes that are just as good if not better minus the terrible service. And if you want scones, try the hazelnut one at North Star down the street.

The new home of Mozart's is gorgeous thanks to a year long renovation that restored the building's 1920s style and added a lovely patio space, but there are some teething issues. I stopped by with my wife for a Friday night dessert and staff didn't seem to know quite how to handle us just wanting gelato and a cookie or two compared to the people coming in for a full meal. Getting rung out took longer than you'd expect, and I overheard several other people having issues with their checks. That said, the things we tried (vanilla petit fours and a Tiramisu gelato for me, chocolate p.f. and a scoop of the chocolate truffle for my wife) were wonderful, and lived up to the quality you'd expect with Mozart's long history here in Columbus. I'm sure that they issues will get smoothed out as the team gets used to the new location and expanded offerings, and I look forward to making this a semi-regular stop for some special treats.

I am a regular at Mozart's. I come with friends, with family, attend parties, and sometimes just stop in for a drink or a cup of coffee. I have *never* received anything but polite, prompt service, am always greeted warmly at the door, and neither the food or pastries ever disappoint. Probably my favorite thing about Mozart's is that you can show up in flip flops or dressed to the nines and are treated well no matter what. I often bring my son with me, and he loves that he can play with the Legos. The staff is always incredibly friendly to him, letting him pick out ice cream and even taking a turn working the hostess stand. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the owners are tirelessly devoted to the community, and provide a lovely venue for fundraisers and other community events. I also know that if any experience is subpar for any reason, they will go above and beyond to rectify the situation and make every attempt to retain their customers. I simply can not say enough about this place. Give it a try -- you won't be disappointed!

Came in with a group of friends to use a groupon for their afternoon tea. We were late and came in slightly before 4pm but they had no qualms about it despite tea technically ending at 4, we were seated and or waitress was lovely and explained the whole process to us. You take your time and when everyone is finished they will bring out the next course so it's a slow event where you get to enjoy your company and sip and snack. The food was very good, the tea was suitable, the mimosas were nice, and I adore that they don't rush you. They also didn't seem to treat us any differently for having a groupon which was very nice. There was an a abundance of parking and a delicious and gorgeous looking pastry display on the way in. There is also a self playing grand piano for while you dine! It was a wonderful experience and I would do it again and recommend it to others!

Finally got the chance to stop by the new Mozart's location this afternoon. I had been to the old location once before and thought it was a little worse for wear, but this newly renovated location is kind of amazing. It's huge with lots of parking. We stopped in just for an afternoon snack and caffeine fix. I had my favorite marzipan peach(a super cute marzipan peach rolled in colored sugar and filled with fruit filling and butter cream...doesn't get much tastier) and I also tried a lemon petit four, which was almost too pretty to eat. Both tasted delicious. I also ordered a cafe mocha and while it was good, it was very, very rich and the coffee flavor was kind of lost(it really just tasted like I was drinking hot chocolate). The piano was going and that always makes your snack time feel a little classier and special. I love coming here and can't wait to be back when I live closer.

Mozart's has been a Columbus staple for many years. I have had take-out previously (the Hungarian goulash soup is perfection) but I had not dined there yet. Tonight was the night to try it. Mozart's has a small dining room with a piano playing quiet background music. I ordered the Stiegl Pilsner (Austrian) which was crisp and light with no hoppy aftertaste. For my entrée, I had the ham and gorgonzola spaetzel. It was out-of-this-world good. Such refined flavors, so thoroughly delightful. I was sorry to see it disappear! My server Carlos was pleasant and efficient. I really have no complaints. A beautiful dining experience!

Bland bland and more bland, except for their desserts. This place should just be a bakery, because it's their only redeeming quality. We finally scooted our butts over to Mozart's for their brunch and was grossly let down. Bf ordered a breakfast sandwich, I ordered a smoke salmon sandwich. Our coffee was hazelnut flavored and slimy tasting. My sandwich was inoffensive, basically a lox sandwich, can't mess that up. Bf's breakfast sandwich though, was so incredibly bland. The cheese? Can't taste it. The egg? Taste was not found. The sausage patty was a sad lifeless gray disc - frozen heat 'n serves taste like gold compared to that sad little guy. Thumbs up to the desserts though - they have everything my inner fattie would ever desire.

My husband and I are in Columbus to celebrate his birthday. Our friend Bev recommended Mozarts to us. We were very happy with our pork tenderloin sandwiches with delicious fresh fruit. Our server Tiegen (sp. ) was excellent. And the chocolate sonata cakes we chose, one, with apricot preserves and the other with rich buttercream covered in caramel were decadent. We are very glad we stopped.

I had been to the old location a couple times but just went to the new location when they were having open time for kids during some of the snow days. It is a great location with good parking, banquet space, a good menu, helpful staff, etc. Especially compared to the old location it feels really spacious and you don't feel like you're tripping over tables. I was also surprised by how kid-friendly they were in the main area and definitely will hit it up for brunch sometime.

Wow. What a disappointment! We looked forward to eating at Mozarts and supporting the local owned business. We went for Sunday brunch. Even though the building had been renovated the set-up of the dining space was awkward and the lighting was even worse. The space and lighting is the least of their problems. After struggling with what to order from the limited menu, i ended up with the cheese omelet. I didnt know a cheese omelet could be screwed up. There was 4x the amount of cheese that was needed and because there was so much cheese the omelet was uncooked on the inside. The breakfast potatoes were sauteed, cold and bland. Hope they can get their act together.

I went to Mozart's with a group of ladies. I enjoyed my visit overall. I will say I was confused at first as to seating myself or waiting for a hostess. I drooled over the pastry display (maybe this is the idea?) but after a while, I walked around and someone asked me if I needed help and then she placed me with my group. I am a coffee-aholic. I will suggest providing more carafes to your servers because ours said he only had one and didn't really want to leave it at our table. Also, to a coffee lover, temperature is key. Although the flavor of the coffee was nice, it was not as hot as I would have liked it and coffee loses it's heat even more when you add cream. So hotter coffee please and buy more carafes. My food was pretty good. I skipped breakfast and was hungry so I thoroughly enjoyed my turkey and sausage with eggs on focaccia. The lady next to me had a daily special and I really wished I had ordered her plate. Sadly, I skipped the pastry case on my way out. I really wanted one, but I will go back again for something sweet with my Mom. Hot coffee is a must though with sweet pastries.

I enjoyed the truffle but was disappointed by the marzipan being cake-like on the inside. Coffee was warm but not hot. I was advised to try their croissants and is advertised on their sign out front yet they were all out of plain ones:( Waited to be seated for more then 5 minutes, no one came and then decided not to dine in to just try pastries to-go.

I love this place and introduce it to everyone when they're in town! Their bakery is one of the best in town! If looking for something different this is the place to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner to just sit back and listen to the Baby Grand during dinner is absolutely amazing! This is my personal hideout!!!!

I've heard a lot of chit chat about Mozart's. The ambiance, the clean and tasty brunch items, tea time... so naturally I had high expectations for my Saturday morning breakfast. My girlfriend and I arrived at Mozart's at 9:30, before the morning rush, and expected a smooth sailing breakfast; instead, we played the waiting game from the time we arrived until the time we left. Considering Mozart's was sparsely populated at 9:30, we waited for at least five minutes to be seated. A hostess was no where to be found, and in addition, the workers at the bakery counter reglected to acknowledge us until they sensed that we were fidgeting, growing exponentially more impatient. Only then did they inform us that we would be helped "shortly." The hostess finally brought us to the outdoor patio. 'Twas a beautiful day, and we were craving the warm sunshine. A server didn't approach our table until another ten minutes later to take our drink and food orders. At this point, we were done waiting and just wanted to get our food and leave. We asked for our check before the food came out, something we never do unless we are fed up with slow service, or are in a rush. I had the vegetable quiche, a delectable slice of heaven to start off my day. The eggs were light and fluffy, and stuffed effusively with vegetables. I didn't eat for the rest of the day after that filling slice of heaven. Although the new Mozart's is indeed beautiful, aesthetically pleasing, and just lovely, I probably will not return any time soon. The service was painfully slow, and for the price I am paying, I expect much better service.

There was a weird smell upon entering this bakery and cafe. I should have known trouble was ahead when I saw they were serving a "Russian, German, Austrian, and French" meals... I ordered the Chicken Pita, which was very bland. My partner ordered a Omelette Duxuelles(?) which was also very bland and lacked any flavor. The water we asked for tasted like tap/dish water. The ONLY good thing was the man playing Tchaikovsky on the piano and our server was really good. Had higher expectations for this place.

Came here for brunch today with the family and I can definitely say that I'll be back; for tea that is. Don't get me wrong, the place offers yummy pastries, good coffee and tea, plus they have excellent service, but the food was okay. My Blue Danube omelet was overbearing in cheese but I found the breakfast potatoes to be outstanding. I also tried the Hungarian Goulash and that was hearty and rich as well, but I guess you just have to be cautious about what you order here.

I'll tell you, Anan really does it up right! This time there were two piano players; on in the front and one in the rear. And there were a whole gaggle of people passing out goodies. And those pastries alone must have set him back a pretty penny! Way to go, Anan!

This was my second dining experience at Mozart's and although the food is usually great, our service on this visit, from the moment we walked in the door to the disappointing conversation we had with the manager after our meal was completely unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one that is trying to position itself as 'upscale'. We waited at least 5 minutes to be seated as several staff walked past us making eye contact yet not acknowledging us. Finally we were seated, to which we again waited at least 8 minutes before anyone came to great us at our table. Once again, several servers made eye contact with us, including the person who ended up being our server, without any acknowledgment. Let me prefixes this by saying they did seem somewhat busy, but by No means slammed. I would have even settled for an "I'm sorry we're a little behind but someone will be right with you." After we were finally greeted at the table, it took another 10 minutes to receive our drinks, just 2 iced teas. There was also at no point any apologies for this service. After we finished our meals we politely spoke to a manager on duty, who although apologized, also gave the excuse that they were busy as to why we received such poor service. I actually had to point out to the manager that being busy still does not negate the fact that apologizing is standard customer service, which was never given during our meal. Having been a server for over 9 years, I find this kind of customer service completely unacceptable and have no plans of returning.

I recently hosted a bridal shower champagne tea for my niece. I had to totally coordinate it from out of state by phone and email. The staff and owner were amazing. They patiently answered all my questions and calmed my anxiety. Every detail I had asked for was handled to perfection. The room was lovely. The food was both gorgeous and absolutely delicious. The service was top notch. I can't thank the people at Mozart's enough for making my job as hostess so easy and for giving my niece the bridal shower of her dreams.

Took my family here for dinner last night and overall, was very happy. I had no idea what to expect as I remembered shopping for rugs in this location before it was a restaurant. We were all impressed by the little touches, fresh flowers at table, cleanliness and table setting. Comparing ambiance and quality to cost - this place has a lot going for it. Oh, and Arnettte Howard happened to be playing horn and singing this evening - this was a great treat. Food was delicious. We primarily stuck with the German-dishes. I had the special: pork, spaetzel, and red cabbage. We were pleasantly surprised and I believe that all three kids cleaned their plates. Service was good as well - we found all of the staff to be attentive and knowledgeable. I also appreciated the mix of cultures and generations who were dining. Just felt comfortable...

The new location is nice but seems a little over done/fussy. When I arrived the restaurant was almost empty but there were lots of servers just standing around talking loudly about their weekend. Since the last time I had eaten there they have pulled some of my favorite items from the menu, so I ordered the schnitzel with spatzel. The schnitzel was good, the spatzel was bland, over cooked and tasted like butter that was about to spoil, it was truly gross. My husband got the Mozart club with potato salad. He enjoyed the club very much but the potato salad was runny and underwhelming. I probably would not eat lunch/dinner there again, but I would however still get pastries there...the marzipan peaches never disappoint.

The new Mozart's location is superb. Finally, enough space to have a leisurely cup of java and dessert with friends without feeling like you're on top of the other patrons. What the owners have done with redoing this building (formerly a rug shop) is amazing. All my traditional favorites are still offered in a space finally worthy of a European name. Only small gripe: service at the tables can still be spotty. Our high tea there was disappointing two weeks ago, partially due to the server's slowness and lack of knowledge about the tea.

Hadn't been to Mozart's in the new location. Beautiful! We had excellence service. I had the pumpkin strudel , husband omelet with breakfast potatoes and whole wheat toast. He said it was perfect, even mentioned how good his toast was. Son, chicken paprikash, he's 14, and he cleaned his plate, even veggies. We took our pastries to go, but they are mouthwatering. Anyone that wrote a great review must be a relative of the owners! Service was so slow, I thought we were never going to get our lunch and none of the items we ordered needed prep work. We got the two items our waitress recommended quiche which was luke warm and served with two pieces of bland toast and the salmon salad containing lettuce which had obviously just been dumped out of an uninteresting prewashed bag, had a couple of grape tomatoes thrown on and somewhat decent smoked salmon on top. I will never go back! Boring and overpriced

Had dinner last night at the new location. Was a little nervous as the local paper highlighted the place in the news yesterday. We had a 15 min wait for a table of 2. Ordered the cream of mushroom soup, which was excellent. It had obviously seen some cream and the mushrooms seemed a bit stronger than the usual button mushrooms, perhaps crimini or portabella? The entree was a piece of veal schnitzel as big as the whole plate. The veal was very nicely fried and tasty. Could have used some more lemon juice to add some flavor. When I requested a piece of lemon, I was brought such a thin silver, it was impossible to juice. Accompaniments to the veal were some homemade spatzle. Have been to Vienna and grew up on Hungarian food. These were outstanding, very light and fluffy. The green beans, which also came with the veal appeared to be French haricot verts and were expertly crisp steamed. Perfect! My dinner companion had the veal schnitzel sandwich, which was also very tasty and a side of the spatzle. For dessert, we both had a vanilla and chocolate mousse cake, I believe it is the Opera cake? Very light and airy, not too heavy, which was nice after a large meal. We each had a soft drink. Service was good, although they were very, very busy. The check for all this came to $52 with tax & tip, which seemed very reasonable. The new space is lovely, with a piano player and a more formal setting than their previous location. There does appear to be a large banquet room, which would be nice for a luncheon or wedding. The owner was very much in evidence, ensuring things were flowing smoothly. We will definitely be back!

Very disappointing. I have always enjoyed the wonderful Austrian restaurants I have visited and I had high hopes for Mozarts. The pastries weren't very fresh and we had to get our own coffee?!? My opinion must be felt by others, because the parking lot is seldom crowded. Too bad.

New Mozart location has horrible service, much lower quality food and the bakery items were stale-- and had higher prices. I was a nineteen year loyal customer but no longer!

I reallllly enjoyed Mozarts. Fresh flowers, piano music, deserts...its a nice place. On the pricey side, but I got the club and it was under $10. And it was probably the best club I've ever had...they used a honey ham....mmmm. I highly recommend Mozarts!

I was here for brunch and this place is huge! Atmosphere: It has an Italian feel, HUGE, and in need of an interior refresher. Service: The waiter was awesome..A+ Food: I got the turkey dinner quiche and the bf got Wolfgang's breakfast sandwich. The quiche had a nice crispy crust with turkey chunks. It comes with a side of fruits and whole wheat toast. The flavor was good and the side of fruits was SO fresh. My bf's sandwich was definitely something you can make at home. I didn't get to try their pastries but it looks so rich and delicious.

I'll give you the looks for the food and cakes they offer but the taste of cake is bland and its just plain. for the price they put, i think its pricey for that kind of cake. Don't get me wrong, It was a okay cake. It was moist and all but just not quite to the point where i say its good. I went there on a weekend around noon. There were only 3-5 customer there (two tables, three including mine) They also had a group of musician practicing there too. It wasn't great at all. Pretty much playing random notes. Off tune.

I reallllly enjoyed Mozarts. Fresh flowers, piano music, deserts...its a nice place. On the pricey side, but I got the club and it was under $10. And it was probably the best club I've ever had...they used a honey ham....mmmm. I highly recommend Mozarts!

Worst dessert I've ever had. Tried to get something nice for my husband's 50th birthday and , after one bite each, we threw it away.
