I quite like this location. It's huge, for starters. The layout is great. You walk in and are naturally guided right toward the counter. There is some seating over to the left, but most of the tables, chairs, etc. are over to the right, where you naturally end up after ordering. The entrance to the patio is right there after you order too. The patio is another really nice feature. Again, like the interior, it's quite large, particularly for the area. It's open pretty late and usually has a good crowd as well. It seems a little out of the way to most of the areas you'd expect to find a cafe, but it gets a good bit of business from somewhere, likely the west dorms across the river or some newer apartment communities along Kinnear, Kenny, etc. If you're in Columbus, you probably know enough about the coffee itself. If you want more info about Cup O'Joe, look up either the Clintonville or Short North locations, tons of reviews there with more detail on the coffee, etc.

Not into this place. I will admit - I went in because I like the way it looks from the outside and I'm a sucker for giant coffee cups! I ordered a coffee with a little room for cream. You should note they interpret "little" room as a lot of room, so I felt a big jipped that my medium coffee was only 2/3 full. I noticed the gentleman behind me ordered a medium tea and his drink was also not filled to the top. Disapprove! Plus, the coffee was just OK. Then I look for a seat by a plug - and see I only have one option at a very tippy table. Boo - but workable, so I sat down and started to work. Not too long after I realize its lunchtime and my hard work has left me with an appetite. One glance at the showcase and I see there is nothing worth paying to eat and I drive home. Premade wrapped sandwiches are gross and the bagels looked like the ones at the grocery store. There are too many good coffee shops in the area to return here!

Mmmmm latte... I love Cup o' Joe. As far as I'm concerned, it's a Columbus staple. How did anyone ever manage their mornings before the great Milky Way or delectable White Elephant? What did people do on hot summer days before they could get a delicious Creamsickle or refreshing green tea? Hell, I wrote at least half of my senior thesis while enjoying aforementioned drinks in a Cup o' Joe. It's just something about this particular location that kills the dream.... The Lennox locale leaves much to be desired. Don't get me wrong, it's cute! Tall-backed booths, beautiful fireplace. But upon closer inspection you'll note that the tables wobble, or that there's a tear in your seat that you can't seem to avoid. There are very few outlets for us laptop users which makes for odd arrangements when a computer guy has to sit alone at a table for 6 just to plug in. And don't let the other reviews kid you, there's no wifi! I think in the last 6+ years that I've been frequenting Cup o' Joe (and yes, I am referring to the Lennox location), I have only successfully connected to their elusive wireless twice. Worse yet, the proximity to the movie theatre means that this location is crowded and noisy. On the other hand, if you're looking for a place to grab a delicious, tasty drink before you go see a flick, it's ideal. But if you're like me and just looking to chill out and get some work done... get your brew to go.

I've never had a superlative experience at this Cup o' Joe. I generally head here before seeing a film at Lennox because it is closer to the movie theater than the Starbucks inside the bookstore. I've learned to stick to the simplest beverages possible, because anything fancy that I've ever had has been incredibly distasteful to me--I once threw away an Egg Nog Latte from this location after two sips, it was that foul. I love Egg Nog Lattes, they're one of my favorite Christmas coffee treats--but not from here. For convenience, it's not too bad--it ranks above gas station coffee--but I'll never visit this Cup o' Joe when I have other options or when I get to suggest the venue.

It was so nice to stop in last night to be helped by a genuinely friendly barista and receive what I really do this is the best iced coffee in the city! Heads and tails above the you-know-who coffee chain.

My favorite part is the giant cup on the roof! I like to grab a coffee here when I head to nearby Target & World Market and have found myself suggesting this place for quick meeting places. It's a fairly cramped interior and you'll most often find lots of students camping out to study since it's still close to campus and they offer free WiFi. It's a fantastic place to grab a drink if you head next door for a movie! Coffee has been okay, but the food cases always seem to be pretty bare. Perhaps I've always stopped by at the wrong times but my selections have been slim during my visits. Patio is a great people-watching spot during the summer!

I remember how packed it was during final's week .... and still remember how good the white mocha and banana choc chip muffin was... great memories

I'm not quite sure what to do with this one.... Coffee = 3 stars Seating area = 3 stars Bathroom = 1 star Customer service = -2 stars (yes, that's a negative 2 stars) I must address the bathroom first. On my most recent visit, it was early before any kind of Sunday rush. I was the only person in the place. When I used the bathroom I was disgusted. It was like it hadn't been cleaned in a few days... Which is an eternity for a public bathroom. Enough said about that.... As for customer service, or the complete lack of it... The only words spoken to me were the amount due. Really???? Seriously, that's it!! Not a friendly welcome, not even a simple "hi". Not even a burp... just the amount due. I guess she could have just pointed at the register to save herself from even a simple utterance. Mind you, when I walked in, I did interrupt the employee's "homework" session. She had to get up from her study table to wait on me. SHAME ON ME for being so inconsiderate as to want a cup of coffee and disturb a poor student trying to do their homework instead of DOING THEIR JOB. As I've stated in most my reviews... Customer Service is what sets a business apart from others. I've been to this location a couple times now and it has always been lacking, but his time was the worst. Even a simple grunt from this worker would have been nice. The coffee and the ample seating area is the only thing that saves this place. I know other reviews rave about this place, but I just don't see it. This is why I hate chain stores... they survive on people who are in a hurry and don't really notice or care about customer service.

Disappointed they replaced the NY Carnegie Deli cheese cake with a generic. Terrible.

There are better COJs. There are worse places to be. It mostly depends. Depends on whether you're there at primetime for movie-goers and dessert-seekers. Depends on whether there are too many people scrambling for the wifi bandwidth. Depends on whether you can find the outlets. Depends on whether the sun is baking you through the mile-high windows. My experiences here have varied quite a bit. One thing's for sure: If you're looking for a place to get a spot of work done, like I usually am, I'd recommend it in the early part of the day and not so much when there are throngs of movie people getting caffeine or sugar fixes before their only options are at movie theater prices. I kind of have a pet peeve about people who take seats near outlets they don't need, when there are lots of other seats available. I know I'm being selfish; that's why it's just a peeve and not a seething anger. It's funny how often that peeve hits here, though.... Still, no place that carries Pattycake cookies can be all bad. Feed me that vegan carby goodness and watch me melt. Always happy about the many tea options COJs always have, too.

We stopped in here for a quick coffee before hitting the movies. It was pretty quiet in there, just a bunch of students either hanging out or studying. I had a nice cafe au lait and they gave me a choice of coffee to use so I had the Highlander grog (slightly caramel/butterscotch-y). It was super good and the perfect pick-me-up before heading over to watch a bad, bad movie.

I had a nice visit to this Cup o'Joe today. Carol C. and I had been out and about and we needed a little break to recharge our batteries. The hot weather demands cool coffee refreshment and we found it in a really good way. They have a New Orleans style iced coffee that I highly recommend you go out and try right away. Like the great coffee you find in The Big Easy, it's flavored with chicory root that gives it a little herbaceous bitterness. I love this flavor and I will be drinking these bad boys for as long as they stick around. Speaking of sticking, we also shared a gooey marshmallow crisp brownie that delivered a happy mood bonus to our afternoon respite. Imbued with a sense of well being that only the proper dose of caffeine, fat, and sugar can provide, we went forth to tackle the remainder of our day. Thanks Joe.

Oh Cup o Joe, part of me wishes there were more of you like Starbucks so that I could drink you more often. However, then I worry that I wouldn't love it as much. The Almond Joy and Milky Way lattes are so so good. I'm not a fan of this location though. It's tiny and I'd never feel comfortable studying here for fear of feeling crowded. I'm also never really sure of how to leave. Do I walk by the counter where people are waiting to order or try to make my through the tables?

  • Michael U.

Much less annoying than the Short North "MoJoe Lounge" version - their standard coffee is still pretty bogus though. Three cheers for the cinnamon coffee which tastes a whole lot cinnamon and not much coffee. Can't complain too much - provided a nice change in study scenery before wandering next door to see The Kids Are Alright at Lennox.

Another one of my go-to coffee spots in Columbus! Great location, good and reasonably priced coffee, free wifi, and nice atmosphere. There's a decent amount of tables, including some comfy circle booths, but the place can get pretty packed with students studying (guilty lol) and people just reading a book or chatting. I especially love the fireplace and the couch next to it! My only complaint is that this place gets pretty darn chilly at night, especially at the tables next to the windows. Lighting is kind of dim too. I recommend wearing lots of layers!

This is my favorite Cup O Joe location. I know, it surprises me too! But between the thee locations I've visited fairly regularly, this place has the most friendly staff, lots of parking (obviously), and the cheesecake is always stocked up (very important). You can be assured that you're going to get great coffee regardless of which location you visit. But I really enjoyed my experience here.

Since working as a Barista at a Cup O Joe 2008-2009), I'm obviously a fan of their establishments! I actually don't frequent this store very often (too many college students), but if you've been in one, then you know how they run. Great customer-center focus. The staff are polite and friendly to chat with. This particular stop-in was for a piece of their cheesecake - yes folks, it is direct from New York. Everything in the shops are made fresh - drinks made before your eyes, food from local restaurants around Columbus (dropped off every *very early* morning), I wouldn't be surprised if their tshirts are screened locally. Casual atmosphere, great to meet a group of friends, or just going solo to work on papers or just chill Back to the cheesecake. I love it. Hands down. No if ands or buts. Period!

Down the neighborhood for a Yelper movie nite at the Lennox and decided to go on down a bit early for a jolt of java before sitting in a dark theater. It had been some years since I had visited this place and was glad to see little had changed. Yes this place gets a lot of OSU traffic thru it so yeah it's a little worn around the edges but still a good place for your caffeine fix. Friendly baristas, plenty of seating inside and out and free wifi, works for me.

  • Nick D.

Stopped in here after dinner at Cap City Diner and thought it was a pretty hip coffee shop. I have been to the High Street location before, but this felt more like a college crowd atmosphere. Just had a black coffee and sat by the fireplace with my girlfriend for about an hour. I can see myself visiting here again.

Nice little coffeeshop... I was staying at a hotel nearby and wanted to find a local coffeeshop other than a Starbucks. This place had good coffee, free wifi and lots of plugs. Not something I'd go out of my way for, but it's a good spot if you are nearby and are looking for a coffeeshop.

  • Matt W.

It's pretty much a staple of the Campus area - you want to see a movie at the Lennox? You go to Cup O Joe before or after. Service is always friendly, and sometimes the coffee is a bit "meh", but you generally get a good cup of whatever you want. (I actually really like the Elvis PB & Banana smoothie with a shot of espresso added). It's nicely arranged for sitting and talking at the tables or the long bar around the counter, and the patio has been the site of many a post-movie discussion. The wifi is a bit shaky - that seems true for almost every CoJ I've ever been to - but all things considered you get a pretty nice spot to chill out and relax a bit.

I didn't have a chance to stay, but it looked like a great place to sit with work or a good book. I got a pour-over of Sumatra from Stauf's Coffee Roasters and it's delicious

I'm trying to remember if there was ever a time when I went here and there was not an abundance of hipsters everywhere. Hipsters crack me up and make for some of the best people watching you can find, so that's a plus. The coffee here is pretty good and they do a much better job than many other coffee shops at presentation. Also, they have a bit more personality in their drink offerings than Starbucks does. I know what I'm going to be offered when I go to Starbucks. I have no idea what they are going to offer at this Cup O'Joe. For example, they had some regular coffee called Mountain Spiced Maple, or something close to that, along with two other oddities which is great. I'm never going to find that at Starbucks (enough of the Pike's Place). The biggest draw back to this place is that there is generally no place to sit as all of the tables are usually occupied by either a student studying (which is fine) or a pack of hipsters over-crowding it (also fine). So with limited seating/standing space, it's not one of my go-to coffee locations unless I have some time to kill right before a movie at the Lenox.

Cup O Joe's hardwood floors, polished tables, and warm atmosphere were a staple of my life in Columbus, and it's something I sorely miss. Like others, I do have a mixed review. Their coffee isn't the first thing I remember about them...someone called it "uninspired" and I think that's fairly accurate. It's a little bitter and it doesn't submerge you in a world of flavor. I ordered tea most of the time. The customer service...eh. They've hardly ever been downright *rude* to me, although the service does lack warmth and real friendliness. The vibe I get is very, very indifferent. I suppose that's better than openly unfriendly or hostile, which I've seen at other places. Mike, however, has always been friendly and welcoming, and he alone sets this location apart in a very, very good way. I love Cup O Joe's atmosphere and its location. It really shines in the fall, when the trees outside turn so pretty and you can stare at them from a comfy window seat while working on your laptop, or in the wintertime, when you come in out of a howling snowstorm and try to find a seat near the roaring fire in the middle of the floor. Don't expect miracles with customer service or coffee, but if cozy is what you're after, then consider this one of the best coffee shops in Columbus.

Two-star coffee with a four-star coffee shop atmosphere. Cappuccinos are average at best, as are lattes. Pretty much just like Starbucks. There are way too many cutesy options on the menu for this to be real coffee... Almond Joy? Milky Way? Please. That just tells me you're covering up average beans and skills with sugar. They have a good pastry selection, including pattycake goods! I had a delicious cherry-chocolate blondie, but that's more the skill of pattycake than the skill of Cup-o-Joe. I like the layout of this little store, though. Nice ample seating, which is always filled with studious people reading or tapping on their laptop keyboards.

During daylight hours, this is a great place to relax with a cup of hot coffee, tea, etc. The weekend nights do get a little teeny, but otherwise this location is calm. It's actually one of my favorite coffee shops around town. Location-wise it's a little inconvenient. Unless you're already on campus, it can be tough to get to. There is no super-obvious way to access it from the adjacent 315 northbound. No matter how many times I come here, I ask "where do I get off...Lane? No, that's too late...damn!" Coming in from 315 south is a good bit easier. And no matter what, I enjoy my time here. Beware: The Wi-Fi sucks. It's so bad that I have a hard time checking the "Free Wi-Fi" box under this review. In fact, I'm having a tough time posting this review right now as I sit in this very Cup o'Joe because of the connection.

Its a tradition for me that before (and usually after) every Ohio State home game, I stop by this Cup o'Joe. Time after time, they make my drink perfectly even if it is a little slow. Their staff is friendly and there always seems to be a good number of people here with their laptops. I especially like that they have a small patio out front. Its nice to get a cup of hot coffee and sit out here when its still a bit chilly while you're looking forward to an afternoon of football!

  • Juliana H.

Solid three stars. Good coffee and OK food. They do have locally baked cookies most days, which are extremely overpriced but extremely delicious. It's close to Ohio State's campus and easy to get to from many locations. An especially nice part is that it is located a few doors down from a Staples. This is important if you are the type of person who decides to do work at a coffee shop only to realize that you didn't bring anything to write with or write on. I am that type of person. But I digress. Also relevant is that the coffee shop gets full quickly with students camping out for long periods of time. You know the type -- they sit for hours staring at their laptops while their coffee cups stay dry for hours. Argh. I try to avoid Cup o Joe's here during the height of each quarter and right around exam time. I do tend to agree with the previous comments about service. I don't need saccharine , overly-chatty baristas that you might find elsewhere, but I would like a smile or some acknowledgement while I wait at the counter. This isn't always the case -- I get some friendly responses too -- but the surliness happens enough to be noted.

As a student studying at OSU, it is SO nice to go to a coffee shop that isn't "campus oriented." Sure, there are students that study there and groups that meet to work on projects, but there's an awesome mix of people that go there. It's nice to get the "off campus" feel, even though it's only five minutes from where I live. The coffee is always spot on, and seating is never an issue. This is the place you want to go if you want to be productive, and of course, people watching is always interesting. So, go get your coffee on and get to Cup O' Joe on Olentangy River Rd

  • Brian D.

Great place to read a book, or get some work on the free wi-fi, nice workers... coffee? not so much. Just average, pretty much like starbucks. I haven't found a coffee shop in Columbus that I really like yet, I guess I'll keep looking. The dark roast, even though they brewed a fresh cup was relatively uninspired. Baked goods are pretty darn good though, and they have free wi-fi, open till 11 which is better then I can say for other places. I'll give you another try, maybe another location perhaps? If you want a place to hang out though, they have a nice patio, and a decent amount of seating areas.

This place really is A OK. A perfect description of simple chain coffee shop. The shop is small but there are a lot of places to sit from couches and club chairs to small dinning tables and chairs. It also has a nice fireplace. The coffee is good. Never a burnt taste to it and always hot. Their specialty drinks are super sweet especially the almond joy.

I come here when I'm in Gran Cdview on one of my book stock-up trips. Iced coffee is the BEST at Cup O'Joe. This location is comvenient since it's in Lennox-close to anything you would want to visit-Target, OSU campus is extremely closeby, and Lane Avenue is closeby as well(making this my fuel-up point after I have visited the Lane Ave. Half Price Books.) Parking is basically never a problem at this Cup O Joe either. Plus, the exterior of this COJ is SUPER cute! Giant coffee cup? Anyone else ever wonder if some troublesome kid climbed up there and couldn't get out? Anyone? Leave it to Beaver, anyone? :D

This Cup O' Joe is extremely accommodating for the procrastinating college student who needs an outlet. I find it not as popular for studying as Starbucks and Caribou, which means you MIGHT get a seat during finals week. There are an amazing number of outlets for your laptops, which is a major plus for me...AND the internet is reliable. Lovely.

Now, why on Earth would I review CoJ Lennox? Everyone and their mom knows which CoJ I love. Well, oddly enough, Lennox is my fall back for when issues like power outtages happen at my beloved CoJ. I'll drive to a shopping plaza to get my fix, it's true. Yes, I've been to the annoyingly OUTSIDE of the security checkpoint airport CoJ, the German Village and Short North MOJOJOs, and yeah I've been to Stauf's in Grandview, but I really do think the Lennox version of my most fave coffee shop ever is the most similar to the one I frequent on the regular. And here is why I like it: The Lennox Cup, despite being in a shopping plaza, is usually pretty chill. There are students there, because it's close to campus, so I guess I'm in my element already, and it's often got the affect of a fairly "productive" space, mixed with some shoppers and business-y types. There's plenty of parking, since you have to drive to get here, and the baristas are generally friendly, and not overly hipster like in the ShoNo or GV locations (no baristas are better than MY CoJ baritas though!). I don't usually stay here, because as I said, this is my fallback coffee fix, but I have never had a bad cup of coffee from this location, and if need be, I would chillax/work here, because it has never been obnoxiously loud like some of the other locations I have been to. I'm glad Lennox exists as an option, or else I would be very grumpy and unproductive on the rare occasion that my regular CoJ is on the fritz.

If you like hanging out in coffee shops then this is probably the place for you. That's not usually my thing, but this place does offer some comfortable seating and free wi-fi. A couple of nights ago I met a friend here to sit and talk and drink coffee, and it was great for that. It was at night sometime and we chose Cup o'Joe because it stays open pretty late. It was really crowded for some reason - I've been there a few times and never saw it that crowded - but we managed to find a table, and then later snag the two big comfy padded chairs that are in front of the fireplace. My friend got some iced chai tea concoction and I got the Mounds Bar coffee. Now I'm partial to Starbucks (I can't help it!) so I've never like Cup o'Joe's coffee quite as much. The Mounds coffee was supposed to have all the flavors of a mounds bar - dark chocolate and coconut, I supposed. I got it with skim milk and no whipped cream. I'm glad I did, because even then it was way too rich. I found it hard to drink the whole thing, and I just got the regular size. It wasn't bad, but I don't think I'll ever get it again. It tasted super sugary and after I was done drinking it I was incredibly thirsty for some water, but they were closing so I had to wait it out until I got home. The staff was very friendly and patient with me when I wasn't sure what to order. They had a few desserts and snacks in the display case, but I didn't try them - although they looked good! It was a very mixed crowd of adults and students and even families. The place was very clean and it has kind of a hip feel to it. It's a nice place to go sit down and chitchat. and there were plenty of people in their who had brought their laptops and were typing away. I also love the huge teacup on the outside of the building. Since the building is right on the corner, those walls to the outside are glass, letting in lots of natural light or giving you a view of the parking lot at night, which is pointedly less exciting. The bathroom was nice - it was a single room and everything worked, was clean, and there was everything you'd need in there. I should mention that the parking was good - I found a spot really close to the front door, but I guess a lot of parking availability would depend on what was going on at the Lennox at the time. Since Cup o'Joe is sharing a parking lot with an AMC theater, Baja Sol, Johnny Rockets and more in the Lennox shopping center, parking could be a hit or miss. But the lot is pretty big and there will always be spots somewhere, they just may be far away. As for the price, it's really the same as any other coffee place these days - I paid about $4 for my coffee, and I'm used to paying that much at Starbucks anyway. The selection was really good, and I literally found myself in the decision process the whole time I was in line and even still when I got up to the counter. So there should be plenty to choose from. I was looking for a green tea latte (I get them at Starbucks a lot) but I didn't see it on the menu, and was a bit disappointed. I think I'll go back, but I'm planning on trying something different next time.

Nice interior but not much space. Outdoor seating helps in the summer but things get cramped quickly during winter. Chai is no good but great hot choc. Easily the best place to spend time while waiting for a movie and it leads or follows up very well on date nights.

It's the location. Even if you're part of the most respected chain of coffee houses in the Columbus area, there's absolutely no way you can run a decent coffee shop when you're located in the middle of a strip mall sandwiched in between the freeway and a yuppy suburb like Upper Arlington. If you think the teenage loitering that runs rampant and unchecked at the Bexley location is bad, the Lennox Center Cup O Joe location will prove to be mind-boggling. Like a fellow Yelper mentioned in a previous review, the cool thing to do if you're a teen in UA or the surrounding areas must be to see a movie, eat at Johnny Rocket's, then sit around here and be obnoxious until the baristas have to physically remove you from the premises a good half hour after closing time. There's a decent amount of younger OSU students here hitting the books here as well, but even they can get to you at times. May the Lord of Coffee strike me down for saying this, but the Starbuck's in the Barnes and Noble is an infinitely better venue to fill the need of a quiet place to enjoy a magazine and a cup of coffee. The coffee there is terrible of course, but at least you won't have the terrible misfortune of getting stuck sitting next to a group of 14 year-olds on a group date that are passing the time by constructing pseudo-bongs out of used plastic cups and straws. Hahah! Hilarious! Man, I don't miss being a teenager at all.

I have to say that this Columbus chain is one of the few coffee shops I've ever really cared for! I usually like my coffee to be really bad. Like, greasy truck stop bad. So sue me, I love that shit- black, too hot to drink, oily, nasty, grinds in the bottom. Love it. I don't usually go for Starbucks because not only do I not want to speak their crazy Starbucks language to get coffee, I just don't really think Starbucks coffee is all that great unless you mix a whole lot of other crap in with it, which I'd rather not, thanks. But there's something about Cup O Joe's and, well, I love the coffee- so much so that I even like it when they throw a lot of other crap in with it, too. Every time I've tried one of their coffee creations with crazy fruit flavors and what-have-you, I've really enjoyed it, and usually I just wouldn't. So, that's a mark in their favor. In general, though, I'm more likely to just get some unsweetened ice tea. Not bad, but there are better places to get that, really. Not Cup O Joe's fault that I have simple tastes, though. I always get my drinks to go so I can't speak of the supposed teenage incursion here. I'm not one to sit and drink coffee in a coffee shop.
