Be aware of this location. I had two of my credit card numbers stolen from this location on the same afternoon. Each card was only swiped once that day and both at this location. The card numbers were used out of the country for multiple charges. Great service and staff but bad accountability for their guests information.

This place is alright. When it's packed in here the noise level is off the charts. It is hard to hear anything in there. The hamburgers are really good. I believe on Wednesdays their burgers or discounted. They are like $3.00 a burger. They are also pretty huge as well. The piZza is good as well. The crust is really crispy and the sauce is good as well. I got the pepperoni pizza and loved it. The service in there is not good really. I have sat there and waited for a server to come wait on my table for quite some time.

Decent place with pretty good bar food and good prices for drinks. I often visit this location when looking for a good priced domestic beer as they have $2 Coors Light draft all day every day. As others say, the major downfall is the very loud atmosphere. If you go early its not terrible, but evenings and weekends expect to yell across the table.

4/11/12. VEry nice neighborhood sports bar. Friendly service and good food- try a burger or ham sandwich on the pretzel bun. Nice to have this close by.

I have never felt more comfortable in a bar than at Average Joe's Pub and Grill. Located to the right of Urban Active, to the Left of New Albany Estates and inside the small strip mall, Average Joe's is a nice small bar that has a "homey" feel to it. Honestly, if I were to walk into Average Joes with a t-shirt and sweats, no one looks at me or judges me for my style. No one dresses like that at Average Joe's; I am just saying I have done it before. The attire is casual, the ambiance is great and the food is ok depending on what you order. There is so many flat screen plasma TV's set up around the bar, a jukebox that music pounds out of and a pool table. In addition to those things, they have the Golf video game, Buck Hunting game and the famed Punching game. Joes has a real nice outside patio for smokers and nice nights as well as a huge parking lot. Their restrooms are always maintained and very nice. Average Joes is not a pricey bar at all and has great drink specials. I became a regular for their Sunday special of $5 pitchers, $2 domestics AND the best of all 45 cent wings. I have tried most all of the wing flavors and by far the Hot Garlic wings are the best. Their Hot, Medium and Habanero Ranch wings are also very good. I always get 6 wings and sometimes I spring for 12 depending on the day. WARNING: I have had over 400 of their wings and 1 TIME I had wings that were not cooked all the way through. THIS REASON and this reason alone is why I gave Average Joes a 4 star instead of 5. I also enjoy their spinach dip with chips and their garlic cheese bread. My friends and I always sit to the left side of the bar close to the punching machine and are always served by Colleen. Colleen is a sweetheart so if you get her be sure to be real nice. We always tip VERY well and have even been hooked up with a free pitcher because of our kindness to the staff. Just shows that kindness goes a long way with people in the food industry. All in all, if you want to have a chill night with your boys or a nice night out with the ladies at a nice cozy bar, come to Average Joes you will like it.

Came here for the football games today. They had every game on and told you what TVs would have what games. There was a good draft selection and the beers were a good size (20 oz). The crowd was very into the games and it was easy to get into the games. They were playing sound for the Browns game. The beer prices were pretty good the service at the bar was attentive. Can't comment on the food though.

Happy hour included 2 types of beers, food wasn't great, and the one server was terrible.

As average as the name suggests. Happy hour prices were okay but limited. The service was mixed. They have a pool table, keno, a couple of video games, nice TouchTunes jukebox, lottery machine, plenty of seating, and televisions. On set up alone I give this place 4 stars. The bartender was busting her ass taking care of folks. The other servers were pretty much MIA. I would see them stroll through the dining area from time to time. As part of a pretty large group, and considering there were only a few other patrons during the early part of happy hour, we shouldn't have had to go to the bar each time we wanted a drink.

Awful! Waited on chicken fingers and potato skins for over 30 minutes before asking to check on our food. Bartender came back and said another 10 minutes. We walked out. Place was dead! I live by Average Joes and have noticed it being dead with little to no cars in the parking lot and now it all makes sense. There are too many other great bar and grills close by. Never coming back!

I like this place. Food and drinks at a reasonable price. Good TV's. I wish they had more sports packages and a bigger bar.

Good burgers and pizza. Lots of TVs. Service can be hard to get when busy.

This place is in the Suburban Trifecta of New Albany, Westerville, and Gahanna. Normally I would call this "hell", but Average Joe's isn't terrible at all. I only come here when I'm dragged by girls who were dragged by the straight men in their lives. So, naturally I'm a bit terrified by places like this. But the service is fine, and they have cider on tap. And that's A-OK.

My favorite bar hands down. The staff knows me and have my limes ready for my Coors Light Drafts (which I'm know for there). The food is amazing! I crave their Black & Blue burgers, to their Pizzas to the amazing Jalapenos Poppers. Plus - their prices are reasonable and I don't feel raped when I leave! The ambiance rocks. There are tons of TV's to catch any game. The party room is perfect for meetings and parties. I love that it's not too loud where I can talk to people at the bar. In addition, the patio rocks! I will also have to give Kudos to Paul for being so very community minded. He's great at opening up his bar to help out non-profits!

I love how this place starts out by lowering your expectations with the name. Genius! This review is entirely based on expectations. Is AJ's a four-star restaurant with gourmet cuisine that you crave? No, not even close. A great place for a date? Absolutely (if you don't want a second date). So, why four stars? What does AJ's do well? They do a very good job of beating expectations. You need to walk in here appreciating the fact that AJ's is, at times, primarily a sports bar (every NFL game on Sundays with lots of TVs) and at other times a suburban meat market (see all the reviews which mention the loud music?). At even other times, it's an after-work watering hole for many regulars. Do not go to AJ's expecting haute cuisine and table cloths - it's a bar. And as a bar that serves food, they do a great job. The pizza at AJ's is quite tasty (even tastier on Tuesdays when it's $7). The wings are quite good as well. The fries are fantastic. The mini-burgers are decent (I do not recommend the regular burgers - that is one area where AJ's fails by offering up what tastes like an angus brick patty that's been frozen for awhile instead of something recently formed from fresh ground beef). Vegetarian/healthy options are also lacking (but again, you wouldn't expect those to be plentiful in a sports bar). The salads, if you're in that type of mood in a bar, are quite good as well. So, I encourage you to go to AJ's with the right expectations. AJ's has great food for a bar. The beer selection fits anyone's bill (and budget)- from $2 Coors on tap ($5 pitchers on Sundays) to decent micro-brews. The staff are all excellent. You can walk into AJ's, plop yourself down on a stool and immediately feel welcomed like a regular. No, it doesn't have the charm or nostalgia of a Short North pub, but you wouldn't expect that at a strip mall in New Albany/Gahanna. Four stars - all about expectations and how AJ's beats them by being better than Average.

Wow ....super ghetto.... Just saw multiple fights break out. The excuse why food tasted bad and the excuse why our server was awful. Stay away if you can.

I want to like this place, I really do. Great food, great atmosphere, close to home, but... The service freaking sucks! Every damn time I come here I think to myself this time might be different, but the waitresses/bartenders prove me wrong every single time! If you don't mind your waitress completely disappearing for long stretches of time or your bartender ignoring you in favor of chatting it up with her local patron friends, then this is a great place for you. Otherwise save yourself the stress and go elsewhere.

Get the wings! Nice little bar and grill. There are plenty of TVs to catch any game that might be happening while your drinking. I had the wings - garlic sauce. Nice set of waitresses too!

Staffing seems to be settling in. Sitting at the bar will serve you quicker - some of the floor staff is awesome, some seem newer to the hospitality biz. There are quite a few things going on now here - sam adams tastings, some live music, events. There seems to be a real effort to build community.

I stopped here for lunch on New Year's Eve hoping for some wings and pub grub. What I got is zero service. I got my drinks brought to my table and the only server for about 15 tables said she would be right back to get my food order. Needless to say, 20 minutes later she still had not returned. I was under a time constraint so I got up and left and got fast food. As a result I don't know if the food is any good. I didn't like the way the entryways weren't enclosed so every time another customer would come in I would get a blast of cold air. If you have all day to waste waiting on service then try them, but apparently the management is grossly incompetent. If they keep this up we'll see them on Bar Rescue in no time.

They serve lunch! And have Wi-Fi! A bit out of the way for us inner-270 residents, this is the second Average Joe's location. The first being the one at Polaris, which I frequented a good bit during my college days as a student at the nearby Otterbein now-University. Like an old friend that hasn't changed in the four years since you've seen one another, this location brought back many memories of its sister location. More than a dozen TVs, arcade games, cheap beer and yummy bar food. Average Joe's - reminds me of my binge drinking days.

Traditional bar food. Burger a touch overcooked. Fried perfect. Friendly staff

The only reason I give 2 stars is because their food is actually really good. Lack of other stars is due to the INSANELY loud music. Are you a sports bar or a club? Seems to me its a sports bar with an identity crisis. I was looking for a place with good food and beer to watch a game with my friends. It has everything, but it isn't enjoyable. You come out with a sore throat because you spend the whole time yelling over the jukebox to have a conversation. I've been here several times, I thought maybe it was a weekend thing that its so loud, but its an every day thing. Management if you read this.... Take out your jukebox or turn the volume down. You are supposed to be a sports bar!!!! Or just take the tables and tv's out and call yourself a club.

We've been to Average Joe's on the Crawl for the Cure just for a drink; the food on the other patrons' tables looked appetizing, and reviews that we had read were favorable, so we looked forward to going for dinner someday. That "someday" was Saturday evening, and it is the last time we'll eat there. The service and the quality of the food was awful. We were seated immediately. The noise level was excruciatingly loud. There were many tv's surrounding the place and of the four huge digital tv's directly in front of our table, all were on the same college basketball game (no local teams included). Our waitress, Blake brought our drinks and took our order. I am a vegetarian. The ONLY entree on the extensive menu (besides onion rings or cheese stick appetizers, or side salad) that did not have some sort of meat was the grilled cheese. (I asked if any of the burgers could be modified--without the meat. No substitutions or changes I was told.) OK, I ordered the grilled cheese with fries, and my boyfriend ordered the fish and chips. When she brought us the meals, the tartar sauce was in a very tiny plastic cup, only 1/2 full--maybe a fraction of a teaspoon of tartar sauce, so he asked for more. Blake was back in a flash with the same size cup and same miniscule amount in it. And she never reappeared, not even to ask us how our meal was, or if we needed anything else, other than to give us the bill for the food. My grilled cheese sandwich was horrible. It consisted of three cold slices of cheese--the menu said provolone, swiss and cheddar, all discernible cold slices that had never melted the way grilled cheese should --between two cold greasy slabs of toast. It wasn't cooked or grilled at all. And the french fries were cold and soft--not crispy. The fish and chips--cold as well. As I said previously, Blake was nowhere to be found, and neither were any other wait-staff. We were really hungry and nibbled at what we had. In hindsight, we should have walked out. When we got the check, she did not even ask how the food was--just walked away immediately. To add insult to injury, we were charged an extra 50 cents for the second tartar sauce! We live close-by, and will never go back there.

This bar is pretty chill. I used to come here quite often (about every week). The bar is filled with TV's and games (pool, darts, golden tee) and also has a TouchTunes jukebox. Once i picked Freebird 3 times in a row and they skipped the last 2, which i can understand i was being a little over the top for that. My main plus for this bar is the $2 coors light drafts. The bartenders are pretty knowledgable too. So if there isn't a drink on the menu but you know what it is, chances are they know what you are talking about. The food from the kitchen is also pretty good. With most of your typical bar foods (chicken strips, hot wings, mozzarella triangles, and potato skins. But they also have some odd items like hummus, which isn't your typical sports bar food. Staff is very friendly and decently fast with drinks and service. I've also been to the Polaris Average Joe's and this review will pretty much sum up that one also (except for that Freebird part.)

Just a beer review. Went out for a couple drinks on a Friday night around 10 or so. The place was packed and difficult to find a couple seats at the bar, but we were successful. I think they had about 18 or so taps, some were craft which I appreciated. There are plenty of TVs and attentive wait staff.

Too noisy...horrible waitress...two and a half hours to get food. Save your money and ear drums and go any place else that serves bar food. The food was okay but one person's food was burnt. Only gave 2 stars because of food or it would be zero stars.

My new favorite bar near home. Love the beer selection and the food is good too. I've always had good service here (as long as it's been Rachel). And I love the free wi-fi.
