Graeter's is a must for anyone visiting Cincinnati. Sarah Jessica Parker once named Graeter's as her favorite ice cream, and nearly all Cincinnatians would agree with her expert celebrity opinion. If you even remotely like ice cream, you owe it to yourself to try Graeter's fantastic (still!) hand-churned ice cream, with giant chunks of semi-sweet chocolate and some of the best flavor combinations I've ever tasted. The Buckeye Blitz is my all-time favorite, basically tasting like a buckeye candy in ice cream form. Combine that with a Snyder's pretzel cone and I can't imagine a sweet tooth that wouldn't be satisfied. Seasonal flavors are offered all year round; the pumpkin ice cream is always a hit around town. Graeter's is also host to an assortment of confections and baked goods if you're in need of either, but the main attraction here is no doubt the ice cream.

When and if you get into heaven, a cone or dish of Graeter's ice cream will be waiting. Since it's heaven, you'll get to gorge on every flavor without agonizing over which one to select. This gives me something to look forward to when I die, that is if heaven's out there and if God exists and decides I was a good boy in this life. I'm not gonna hedge my bets if it means I get eternal scoops of caramel...peach...macaroon...etc etc etc... with no extra charge for a waffle cone. Graeter's bakery is a'ight but will probably remain on earth in most people's minds. One thing I gotta say though, it was a sweet surprise in more ways than one to find out that Graeter's has started turning out "schnecken" for the holiday season. Pastry traditionalists and hipsters alike went into mourning when Virginia Bakery in Clifton, which had ruled and owned the world of schnecken, called it quits. With Graeter's, my personal count of their successors is up to three. Schnecken are something that'll be offered beyond the pearly gates right along with Graeter's ice cream. Essentially they're a small loaf of raisin bread, with a thick layer of glaze on top and on the sides, but that description so doesn't do them justice. Schnecken are so effen good, to appease the cardiac spirits I wash slices of 'em down with cold skim milk and call it even heart-healthiness-wise. Get to a Graeter's whenever you're in Greater Cincinnati. If you live in the area, you should already know what I'm talkin' 'bout.

This is my hometown ice cream place! Worth a trip, maybe from Atlanta! Try the chip flavors.... some of the chocolate chips are big enough to surf on. (Not kidding much.) This is a family-owned old-time ice creamery, not to be missed. If you are disappointed, it's you, not them!

This Graeter's on Galbraith in Finneytown gives out *huge* dips IF you ask one of the local high school kids to do the dippin'. Nothing like a Graeter's ice cream cone on a hot Cincinnati day!

Cincinnati's finest ice cream! My favorite is the black raspberry chip 1870. Always clean store, plenty of parking and wonderful staff and service. Any travel home has to include a stop at Graeters!

While house hunting before we made the move to Cincinnati a few months ago, one of the housing representatives recommended that we try LaRosa's and Graeter's. We made it to LaRosa's during that visit, but we weren't able to visit Graeter's until we'd already completed the move. Luckily, there is one a short drive away that we've been to a few times already. We were told that we had to try the Black Raspberry Chip, and we finally did just that last week. Good stuff! The raspberry flavor is refreshing, and the chocolate chunks are yummy, not hard chunks of chocolate like you too often find in ice cream like this. This location is clean and inviting with an enticing display of pastries. The manager is friendly and personable and I have enjoyed every visit here.

Graeter's is delicious and worthy of a much better review, I'm doing this review, however, not on the ice cream, however, but of this location. Located in a strip mall I was first confused because the sign bore no resemblance to the Graeter's logo. When I pulled in though I saw the familiar scripted emblem proclaiming its 1870 origin. The shop was small, the staff was friendly, but the scoop sizes were much smaller than other Graeter's locations I've been to. Of course the ice cream is great, but hit up another location. My go to is Kenwood.

If you are for some reason forced to live, or travel through, the state of Ohio, please make sure you try Graeter's. It will 100% make up for any suffering you've had to endure during your stay (however long that might be). Since i've already embarrassed myself by creating the tagline "apparently i'm a fan of sugar and lard", I will take it one step further and admit that if I could, I would eat nothing but Graeter's Ice cream and pastries for the rest of my life (Although if I did this, it would be a short life as I would most likely die prematurely from a massive heart-attack) Let me end this with saying that Graeter's, with it's massive chocolate-y chips and creamy goodness, is the best ice cream you will ever ever EVER eat in your life. It's a little on the pricey side for ice cream, but OH SO worth it. If I had enough money to have it regularly shipped out to California (do they do this?!?!?) I would in a second. Do not delay any longer, put "Road trip to eat Grater's Ice Cream" on your top ten things to do before you die list. My top three recommendations (In order): Raspberry Chip Peanut Butter Chip Mint Chip

There really isn't much to add to the other reviews, other than this is simply the best ice cream ever created. I enjoy the search to find an equal, but no close contenders yet. As for favorite flavors, the Moore's go with Mint Chocolate Chip (I like to add a bit of hot fudge as well), Black Raspberry Chip, well, about any berry chip (Cherry, etc). If you are going to have ice cream, go with the real stuff, and this is it. Hit the gym later if you are feeling guity.

Not sure if this is the right location of Graeter's that I visited, but I don't think it matters because I am sure all of them are equally as awesome. Bottom line, Graeter's serves up some of the richest, creamiest ice cream around. So if you are not a fan of rich and creamy, stay away. The BF is Cincinnati-born and bred, and he has been raving about Graeter's for years. I got to sample a bit when he brought back some pints for me to try, but nothing beats freshly scooped Graeter's in a sugar cone. I was in Cincy for just a weekend and visited Graeter's twice in two days. The first time, I ordered a scoop of black cherry on a cone. The girl working there told me that they were introducing black cherry chip this month, and would I like to try that instead? OK! I guess they introduce temporary new flavors each month? The "chips" in the ice cream are really more like "nuggets." They include a generous amount of chocolate in the chip flavors, and in big pieces, too. The black cherry chip flavor was divine. It was chock-full of juicy black cherries and chunks of chocolate. MMMM! My second visit, I got Elena's Blueberry Pie. Each Blueberry Pie sale benefits The Cure Starts Now Foundation. I've had Mayfield's blueberry pie ice cream, and it doesn't even compare. Graeter's version has fresh WHOLE blueberries and what appears to be sugar cookie pieces, though the website says they are pie crust pieces. Oh, I was also shocked at the low prices in the store. For example, a single scoop will cost you $2.75. That is significantly cheaper than ice cream places in Atlanta (*ahem* Paolo's with your $5 scoops and Kilwin's!) The BF said their prices have remained the same for years. They sell cookies, candies and even bread in the store. I am not entirely sure if they have cake; I can't quite remember. On top of the ice cream selections, they have sundaes and milkshakes. I also sampled vanilla, mint chocolate chip, cookies & cream and mocha chocolate chip. I believe you might find pints of Graeter's at Kroger locations. All of them were incredibly good. I just wish they weren't so high in calories and fat! Half a cup is a whopping 300 calories. :(

I love Graeters, and the Finneytown location is really just one of the best. I went with a small-ish group from work one afternoon and we sat in the dining area. They have a rather ample dining area here, but I wouldn't really recommend it for larger groups. It fit us nicely though. They always have samples of their sweets out, and this time it was chess pie. I don't particularly like chess pie, but from what I hear, it was delish. I ordered a scoop of chocolate ice cream and Dick, the clerk and store manager, asked me if I'd like to try it in a pretzel cone. Yes, and ice cream cone made out of pretzel! Excellent recommendation. Chocolate ice cream is pretzel's new best friend. If that wasn't enough, Dick came over to our table with a tray of some of their homemade chocolates and offered us all a sample. With service like this, we might have to make afternoon trips to Graeter's a regular thing!

I'm from Cincinnati. Naturally I'm a big fan of Graeters. I recently returned to Cincinnati with my sister. We had to stop by for pastries and some of the new bourbon pecan chocolate chip. We ordered a lot and the service was top notch. The guy was helpful and took all the time with us we needed. I'm from Finneytown. The Graeters on Winton is our go-to store. This store fully represents all that is good about Graeters. Living in California, I miss it. Please, at least send the amazing ice cream to the West coast.
