Oh my gosh. I noticed Flipdaddy's a month ago on Wooster. I had never heard of it before, but I spoke to a nurse that she said she and her husband go there all the time and hang out on the patio and get burgers and beer and really liked it. Then I happened to see the one up in Mason Montgomery by the DSW shoe. I kept thinking "I've got to try this place". So, last night, I was running an errand a block down the street, and decided that I am not always over this way, so it was perfect for me to stop in and pick up a dinner to bring home for my boyfriend and I. Right when I walked in the door, they had a very nice carry out menu for me to grab. I chatted with the hostesses for a minute or two, then went to sit at the bar to look over the menu. Boring me did not take advantage of their craft beer. Just got a Yuengling light in a bottle. As I looked at the menu, everything looked good, and I had a very difficult time deciding what I wanted. I'm sorry, for people that say the place is "alright" and the burgers are average, I don't understand. They had some very interesting and creative burgers to choose from. Things I would have never thought of putting on a burger, but they really tasted good. I don't get how people could try to compare this to a Red Robin. I could do without Smashburger out here in Anderson, and would love to see them in their place any day. Now Smashburger is an overpriced burger place, and there food is very unremarkable, if not almost inedible in my opinion. Back to Flipdaddy's. I ordered the Swiss Bliss and a side of their mac and cheese. The best mac and cheese I think anywhere in the city. The Swiss Bliss is similar to a burger you can get at Anderson Township Pub, however, I liked this one better. My boyfriend got the Mac Daddy as they said it was one of the popular ones. He got a side of onion rings which were enormous, and really good! We ordered the fried dill pickles. Again, they were spears, not the little pickle chips. They were phenomenal. I think the best fried pickles I've ever had. We also ordered the buffalo chicken dip. Which was very good, the only thing I may have preferred was maybe a blue corn tortilla chip instead of the yellow and red ones. The chips were rather ordinary. But, other than that, everything was great. We tend to over order food, and nibble on it the next day, and my boyfriend just heated up the rest of his burger and said it was as good as it was last night. I can't wait for my boyfriend and I to come back and dine in. The bartender told me about a trivia night on Wednesday nights. There are still so many things on the menu I want to try. My boyfriend loves rootbeer floats, and he noticed it right away on the menu I brought home. I want to try the sweet potato fries and the fish tacos. I found out it is only a local Cincy chain with now 4 locations. I really hope they do well and are here a long time. Maybe even become a regional chain years down the road?

Burgers are great and very creative. The staff knows the beer and can make recommendations.

The burgers are about as good as it gets. I have eaten here probably a dozen times in the last few months and have finally found my burger- The Oktoberfest- absolutely delicious! Perfect for a date- tons of beer, modern, etc also just fine to bring your toddler.

This is a solid burger joint with a ton of choices & flavors for whatever type of burger you may want. Wish I could give it a 3.5 star rating. The food gets the job done. The service gets the job done. The atmosphere is similar to many other pub/restaurant/diners that have a bar, serve burgers, appetizers (fried macaroni, stuffed mushrooms,) & a mix of other dishes such as a chicken sandwich & fish tacos. The burger I had with grilled onions, mushrooms & Irish cheddar & fries on a pretzel bun was tasty. No complaints. I won't remember it next week though. Nothing majorly out of the ordinary. Also, if you go at a peak time, the noise level, just from conversation is very loud & it's impossible to hold a conversation in a normal tone of voice.

The Good: Excellent service, quick seating, and a fantastic draft beer selection. The Bad: The burgers are good but nothing to write home about, the fries were soggy and the walls are bare. The Ugly: The salads had very fresh vegetables but terrible iceberg lettuce. The decor is trendy but is confused...think gastropub meets diner. Conclusion: I WANT Flipdaddy's to do well but right now it needs some work before I will make it my neighborhood hangout.

One of my favorite places. Friday nights are not the same without a visit to Flipdaddy's for some great craft beers and delicious burgers. I have tried all of the burgers and the El Paso is my favorite. The craft beers rotate on a regular basis. The servers are friendly and informative on the beers. If you are not sure, they will offer a sample.

This place is great! We loved the beer selection and burgers. I had the Herman muenster burger with fried apples and pumpkin aioli and it was delicious. We will definitely be back!

Burgers were delicious and juicy, appetizer was amazing and beer list, delicious craft beers. Bonus stylish sports bar atmosphere. Couldn't ask for much more when a place says brilliant burgers & craft beer bar. I definitely will be back!

Good burgers. Pretzel and cheese is okay... runny cheese but that may be a cultural thing. Service was good. Good bee selection.

Can't say a bad thing about this place. If I'm craving a good beer, burger, and relaxing atmosphere - Flipdaddy's is always the right choice. I've tried several of the burgers on the menu and all are delicious! Yum!

Had a very good lunch there, with a very patient server (we waited nearly an hour for a member of our party, who had been delayed, to arrive.) I ordered the Flying Green Tomatoes burger with French fries. The fires were crispy and coated, but a little lacking in flavor. The burger - cooked to temp - on the other hand, was definitely worthy of a return trip! (I want that jalapeno ranch mayo on everything!)

MR says ... the rotating beer tap selection is awesome! I always get the sampler that comes in 4 little glass MRS says ... Trivia night every Wednesdays at 7pm. We don't participate. We just listen to the trivia questions. And for some odd reasons, we always end up going to FlipDaddy's on Wednesdays. We forget it's trivia night actually. Anyway, when we feel like eating bar food, we go to Flip Daddy's. We love their chicken wings (we request for extra crispy). We like the dry rub and buffalo medium heat. We get 2 -3 different appetizers and that's about it. From time to time we get burgers too. Chillax and listen to trivia questions. FlipDaddy's a good hang out place.

The burgers here are very good and there are some unique ones on the menu, but what brings me back time and time again is the grilled mac and cheese. It is amazing here. I highly recommend it to everyone I talk to about Flipdaddy's, and not once have I not been thanked for suggesting it. The beer selection is usually very good here as well. A decent selection of taps and really good beers on those taps.

Went today for my annual birthday lunch there with my son. Burger was very juicy with lots of swiss cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms. Sweet potato fries were very good. My son enjoyed his bacon burger with onion rings very much. They were huge! Excellent service. Restaurant was very crowded today.

I went here with 7 friends over the weekend. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they took us in. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, which really isn't bad considering how busy they were. I ordered a burger, so did the rest of my friends. When they were bringing the food out, an accident happened and the server's tray crashed to the ground along with my dish. I was surprised at how fast they replaced the food. The server was very friendly....made sure we had plenty of refills on drinks. I think I like Mad Mikes Burgers a tad better, but I'd have to try more here to be sure. They do have a good selection of beer. However no Amber Bock :( but there are some good dark drafts here.

I went with the beautiful Kim Sizemore this past weekend, for the first time. I was impressed by the beer menu, all kinds of good stuff was available. But, today wasn't the day for that, it was only lunch time. We had the saratoga chips thing (flipchips?), which was okay. By the end of it, I was extremely dehyrdated due to the 15 tablespoons of salt they apparently prepared it with. (maybe this is how they get you to buy beer) I had the simple flip burger with all the fixings. It wasn't bad, but kind of uninspired for the $10 price tag. It's the typical small burger, huge bun and piles of cheap things like tomato and lettuce. The french fries were prepared with an entire salt lick and sprinkled with 48 other kinds of spices that rendered them barely edible. Did I mention the salt? It's a neat little place, with huge booths for some reason. I don't expect I'll go back, but I like trying new places and it was a good try. When I got home, my house smelled like salt farts.

This is the Mac Daddy of Burgers and Beers. I was informed of this place by a friend. I am creating a "burger list" and this will make it. I arrived on a Friday Evening around 7pm and there was a line of 20 people waiting for tables. For those who have been to famous burger joints - this is a good sign,. I am cautious when I get a burger - it has to have over the top tastes - be complex. I do not want a burger with diffferent sauces that define the burger. I ordered the Mac Daddy Burger - Medium. It was a burger with their fried macaroni and cheese. The meat was cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese and that crust from being fried with the creamy / soft center you would expect. Of course the fried mac and cheese was on top of my burger! Combined with my Bells beer out of Michigan and our attentive bartenders - it was a memorable evening. Service - Awesome - beers kept coming - my food was served hot. What more can you ask for in a bartender(s)? Food - Wow ! I know that not all burgers on their menu are equal but my Mac Daddy was great. A very good burger. Price. My burger was $11 / Beers were $4 each (these are high octane beers). I will defintely go back and want to welcome them to my burger list!

Love Flipdaddys! I get the jack Daniels burger fries and the wedge salad!! Yum! Great beer selection too! My boyfriend also loved the chuck Norris burger. Definitely a great place for family and friends to get together.

I had a really good experience here on a Friday night. Went around 6:00 pm and had to wait about 15 minutes. They had a nice selection of craft beers on draft. The burger choices are pretty creative or you can make your own. I'd recommend trying it if you haven't.

Flipdaddy's is one of many restaurants that has cashed in on the recent trend of ten dollar burger restaurants. I can say for the most part Flipdaddy's does a pretty good job at what their name promises potential patrons: burgers and beer. Flipdaddy's offers a plethora of ways to order your burger and even more options for a beer to go with your meal. On my last visit there I ordered the Jack Daniel's burger cooked medium served with grilled macaroni and cheese and a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Overall the food was good and my burger was cooked to medium as I ordered. The service was average and the waitress managed the large party at my table fairly well. I would recommend trying Flipdaddy's on a Wednesday evening for trivia night for a fun weekday evening with the opportunity to win a growler of local Mt. Carmel brew and a twenty five dollar gift card, or at least that was the prize for the winners that evening. They also offer pints of Mt. Carmel Amber during trivia for three dollars. So even if you lose the battle that is trivia it is possible to win the war that is having a good beer with a good burger without going broke!

Great food, now if only the service followed suit. We've been there 4 times now and EVERY time our order has been wrong or something gets sent back to the kitchen...too bad.

I've been to the Flipdaddy's on Wooster Pike and in Mason. Both offer a decent selection of craft beer and decent food items. They have the basics you'd expect for appetizers, pretzel bites and beer cheese dip, chicken bites, etc... Most people I know love the burgers here but I've been a little put off and would rate them as mediocre to good but not great. My latest trip was on an early Saturday evening. My buddies and I sat at the bar. There were two bartenders on staff but it took a couple of minutes to get our drink orders. No big deal, there. But right as 6pm hit the dinner crowd came in and service suffered tremendously. We were ready to order but had to wait at least an extra ten minutes because of this. I got the burger of the month. Being November it was a tribute to Thanksgiving. The all beer burger came with a layer of mashed potatoes and gravy on it along with cranberry mayo on the bun. The side for this was sweet potato fries that were accompanied by a thick, syrupy brown sugary dipping sauce. I also went along with another current burger trend and had my burger of the month on a pretzel bun. While being disappointed with previous burgers my meal was delicious. I ordered my burger medium rare and it looked a little closer to medium after taking a few bites. Still, the burger was juicy and moist and quite messy the way a real burger should be. The cranberry mayo was a little lacking. I didn't really seem to notice much of it and expected some tart flavors to pop off at some point but that never happened. Near the end of my burger I also began to question the taters and gravy. Where were they hiding? When I found them I was pretty excited. The gravy was delicious and the potatoes made a fun, interesting combination on the burger. The sweet potato fries were great on their own but the dipping sauce was stupid good. I finished off the sauce with half of my fries left and had even poured a little on a bite or two of my burger to see how it tasted. Overall, the food was great and better than the other dining experiences I've had. I'd also encourage newbies to try the grilled mac & cheese. It may not be your cup of tea but it is interesting to try. As we were ready to cash out it seemingly took forever. The bartenders were slammed and the restaurant was pretty packed. when we finally got our bills my two friends and I noticed that our beers had been placed with the wrong dinner. The bartender apologized and said that correcting it would be just a moment. It took quite a few minutes (like five to ten...) to get this fixed and get our correct bills back to us. After that we still had to pay and sign our receipts which took another few minutes. The staff was friendly and apologetic but I doubt I will return at that particular time. Also, being crowded the noise level was ridiculously loud. I guess that could be expected during any rush. All in all, I'd recommend Flipdaddy's to anyone looking for a good burger and a great beer in a clean and calming atmosphere. I'd say this place is best reserved for lunch, late dinners and happy hour when the staff is best able to serve you. The one is Mason occasionally has an acoustic act or bar trivia and I'm guessing the other locations may as well. You can find better burgers, better bars and better service but you can certainly find much, much worse.

Awesome beer selection. Friendly service. Fries are outstanding. I love the Mac Daddy burger which has mac n' cheese on the burger on a pretzel bun. Great variety...something for everybody here.

The food here is surprisingly good. I was expecting a typical burger joint, but NO! They have a little bit of everything and even stuff for vegetarians! I was very pleasantly surprised. The fried pickles are great and the blackbean burger can be substituted on any burger you choose. Service is very good, prices moderate, great drink selection, full bar and easy to find parking.

OK, not impressed with this place and would give it a 2.5, if possible. So pretty much this place is like a overpriced Red Robin. I think this was a trendy idea that has just become popular as a place to be seen, but not for the food. We both ordered different burgers, which my wife's was decent, but nothing special, which was the Blackened Bayou, I believe. I unfortunately went for the Gaucho, which should have been a good choice, but was far from it. The Chimichurri was a big disgrace, since it was like eating garlic and roughage, with such a scant amount of citrus. Didn't really pick up much herbs, which I think it was only parsley and no oregano; so either it was old and all the flavor was lost or some really poor execution or both. The meat itself was nothing special and very under-seasoned and the provolone and onions were overpowered by the green junk. The overall plating was quite scant, in which the oblong plates look nice, but lack an adequate amount of product for the $10 price tag. The saratoga chips are done just right and seasoned well, but again a small amount to bring the overall plate to the $10 amount. Now the FlipChips did taste nice, but that was only in the top layer. I mean if you're going to make a pile of chips and top it with cheese, bacon and BBQ, make sure you get all the chips. Not a hard concept to layer the product to ensure full coverage, but that would actually make it worth the high priced $7 app. Now I will say that our server was very good and she was very attentive and made our experience much better overall. I was not impressed with the decor and the layout, since it felt very crowded at the entry and the bar was right next to it as well. Which made for some real congestion problems with people standing by the bar and people trying to move through.

Flipdaddy's is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area! My husband and I always take our guests from out of town to flipdaddys. They have the best pretzels and beer cheese! It is definitely a must try!! They also have a great dinner and beer selection. They have a ton of burger choices as well as chicken (and delicious pretzel buns!). We have never had to wait when we went to flipdaddys because they have an adequate amount of seating. I would definitely recommend flipdaddys to anyone who loves burgers, chicken, beer or homemade pretzels.

I am super impressed by the beer on tap selection. It's very well rounded and very fairly priced. The burgers are exceptional. I had the Mac Daddy, a burger draped with a crusty layer of grilled mac and cheese, topped with a soft pretzel bun. Holy smokes it was amazing! The sweet potato fries that accompanied my burger were delicious as well. I love Flipdaddy's. Every time I make a trip back to Ohio, this place is a destination that is now on the top of my restaurant list.

After taking a long afternoon bike ride on the bike trail down the road a friend and I stopped in here. I'm not much one for burgers, but luckily there are options other than beef in the sandwich arena. I got a chicken cesar wrap with sweet potato fries. My meal was good. But, the fries blew the wrap out of the water. The beer selection was great too. Next time I think I'll skip the wrap and head straight to beers and sweet potato fries. I mean, I did just do 20 miles on the bike, so it'll all even out. Right guys?! ;-) Note: Lost a star because the waiter. Our service was really slow and she was complaining about the other table to us. Can you say, awkward?!

Why eat at Terry's Turf Club when you can eat a place that loves food, loves, great beer, and respect the people. Where real beef connoisseurs eat.

Flipdaddy's: reasonably priced and close to work. Burger - 3/5 The first time I went, they overcooked my burger. The second time, they cooked it just about right (medium temperature) and the flavor was pretty good. Toppings - 2.75/5 Both times I've been to Flipdaddy's, I've opted for provolone cheese and teriyaki sauce on the side. With this combination, I typically skip the garden. Condiments - 4/5 It's great to have teriyaki on the side for a change. That way, I don't have to have every bite of my burger include that flavor. Also, the fries dipped in teriyaki are good also. Ketchup and ranch are also good. Burger to Bun ratio - 3/5 Good enough. Side - 2.75/5 Both their french fries and sweet potato fries are good. Not great, but definitely good. Total - 3.1 out of 5 [rounded down to a 3 for Yelp rating purposes]

More than a top burger and beer spot with spicing levels in soups and quality of food across the menu that is well above your average "burger and beer" place...consider the Chuck Norris Burger and a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and you will have the ultimate American meal. Never too crowded like the other burger place terry has down the road and a bit more affordable. Much more variety.

I had to travel out to Milford yesterday and that meant one thing - that I finally had an excuse to try this much-heard-about Flipdaddy's. Oh yes, there will be burgers. This new restaurant, tucked off the main road into a strip mall, feels like a chain. It's got Applebee style lighting and the booths look like they're plucked right out of TGIFridays. However, after just now doing a little research, I found out this is not a chain - this is the only one. Interesting. It does has that comfortable style feeling to it, where anyone can just walk in, be seated at a booth and know they're going to have a good meal. Maybe not a great meal, but definitely a good meal every time. We were handed menus - one for burgers and one for beer. Wow! That's basically all I can say for the amount of items on each ... but I'll try to say more. They have an awesome beer menu and each one is laid out by amount of hops in it. They are also very very reasonably priced. You can get a nice tall glass of beer for about $4 or $5. Win. Same deal with the burgers. Any style you want - regular or spicy or teriyaki or Mexican or so on and so on - they've got a burger for it (with semi-clever semi-cheesy names too, like "Bean Me Up, Scotty" for the vegetarian burger) and if you're not happy, you can build your own burger. They cost about $7 to $9, very reasonable. I got the El Paso Burger, one that's southwest style with some corn and beans and chipotle mayo. It was ... good. A good burger. Not the best burger I've ever had, but not the worst either. A solid B burger. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to go here again, but if I'm ever traveling these parts and are hankering for a beer and burger, I may stop in again.

Saturday evening I headed to Flipdaddy's Burgers & Beers with my wife, son, and my parents. I had read about the restaurant before we moved back to Cincinnati and thought that it was definitely a place we had to try, something that seemed like it belonged in Denver. First of all the beer list is really good and they have a large list of specialty burgers that can also be served with a chicken breast or turkey burger. I like how the beer list has a hop scale, along with alcohol content, and a great description of each. I didn't notice it at first, but they are also listed from darkest to lightest, as the color scale on the far right indicates, though not that color really indicates much. I enjoy that Bud Light is listed with 0 hop content. My first choice of the night was from the secret stash, a Rogue Double Dead Guy Ale, which I really liked. Other choices included Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster and an offering from Unibroue from Quebec. As I mentioned, the menu pretty much consists of a wide variety of specialty burgers, so many that it took us awhile to make our decisions on what to have. Eventually I decided on The Oktoberfest Burger (substituting chicken) with horseradish cheddar cheese, grilled onions, sauerkraut, pickles, and bacon Dijon mayo served on a pretzel bun. My wife ordered The Chuck Norris (also with chicken) which adds a secret spicy signature sauce, green chile and jalapeño compote, and pepperjack cheese. My mom ordered the special burger, which I can't recall what it was, which my dad went with the Asian Fusion Burger with teriyaki sauce, grilled pineapple, red and yellow peppers and lettuce. My sandwich was extremely messy and hard to eat, but quite good. I think the combination of all of the sauces really weakens the already falling apart pretzel bun. I was expecting a ton of flavor from the variety of toppings, but was let down a little. My wife and I decided to split our sandwiches, and I much preferred her Chuck Norris sandwich. The spices from it really stood out compared to the Oktoberfest. My parents were both very happy with their choice, and I think I might try the Asian Fusion the next time. All sandwiches are served with fries, but for an extra dollar you can substitute roasted asparagus, sweet potato fries, or onion rings. An extra two dollars allows you to bring in grilled macaroni and cheese or a Babydaddy side salad. I went with the grilled macaroni and cheese, which was excellent! I believe it is prepared by adding grated cheese to both sides of a pile of mac and cheese while grilling it on a griddle. The standard fries were fine, and the sweet potato fries my mom had were very good, especially when dipped in a sweet Carmel-like sauce. Our service, though young, was all very accurate and speedy. Their knowledge of the beer offerings clearly isn't very high, but the menu is more than enough to help guide customers in selecting. There was a steady line of patrons coming and going throughout our entire stay, and I noticed that a few people told the hostess that they had a reservation. Clearly Flipdaddy's has been able to stay very busy and I can now see why. Though the food wasn't outstanding, it was good enough that I will definitely be back for more.

Upscale burger joints are becoming a bit more than trend, as you can find them just about anywhere you go now. Flipdaddys tries to bring some flair to the equation by having a nice array of craft and local beers that pair very well with a unique set of burger choices. I've actually been to this location for the sole purpose of drinking more often than I've been for the burgers, that's just how impressive the beer selection is. The burgers are pretty high quality, and come out quickly. Quite possibly the best food item here would be the sweet potato fries, which I'm pretty sure they sprinkle some sort of brown sugar on. A word of warning, be prepared to get stuffed, because it's by no means a light meal, especially if you get a nice craft beer or two, but it's worth saving up your calories for. Not too many cons to this place, but there are a couple things to note: The servers are okay: not great, not bad, serviciable despite not always having a vast knowledge of the beer and disappearing at times. Also, the place can't seem to decide excatly what kind of restaurant it wants to be. I've gone on nights where they have had loud audio of football games with a semi-drunk crowd cheering on, and I've been on other nights where it is a low key, dull family friendly atmosphere, even when big events are on TV. With a bit more identity and slightly better service, it could be a 5 star. Not bad at all as it stands currently, however.

Flipdaddy's is a laid-back burger joint with many burger options. It's pretty solid in the burger realm, with a lot of interesting topping combinations. I like the seasoned fries quite a bit! Black bean burger is just okay, but I've had the burgers with my family a few times and no complaints there. The appetizers are pretty good too, though there aren't a ton of healthy options- they are tasty, especially the pretzel bites with beer cheese. I think the bites might be deep fried but oh my. Yum. It seems that Flipdaddy's is always pretty busy, but you can skip the wait if you manage to finangle a spot at the bar. Definitely a place to consider when you are in the mood for a burger.

The relatively new Flipdaddy's, located in a Mariemont shopping center, is a tough one to figure out, featuring a series of variables that are difficult to square in a single rating. I'm no mathematician--I barely survived freshman calculus--but a simple series of coefficients is the best way to compute a rating for this place. Let's go with 60 percent for food, the most important aspect of any restaurant; 25 percent for decor, atmosphere, and service; and 15 percent for the beer list, since Flipdaddy's calls itself a "burgers & beer" restaurant. Easily the best thing about Flipdaddy's is the beer list, which features a marvelously balanced selection of two dozen draft beers, both import and domestic. (They also offer beer spritzers like Miller Lite and Bud Light.) 4.75 stars X .15 = .7125 stars. Unfortunately, everything else is pretty bad. For a place that specializes in burgers, Flipdaddy's are sadly mediocre. The kitchen apparently can't cook a burger to order to save their lives. So far, medium ended up medium-well, medium-rare also ended up medium-well, and medium ended up medium-rare. (This last time, we overheard somebody else at the bar complaining about his burger being overcooked.) And even the medium rare patty was pretty flavorless. They are throwing darts while blindfolded, and they need to pull it together. The specialty toppings--I've tried the "El Paso" southwestern-style job and the "Gaucho" chimichurri thing--were very bland; the chimichurri tasted like chopped frozen spinach. Aside from the nice grilled mac & cheese, the sides have been subpar; the "Babydaddy" side salad was iceberg-dominated and pitiful. Sweet potato fries are kind of limpid & served with a weird sweet syrup. 1.75 stars X .6 = 1.05 stars. Finally, as others suggest, the decor and atmosphere present a culture clash. The decor suggests an slick, upscale, New Age First Watch, with earth tones dominating. (Actually, there is little decor to speak of, except for a single painting and a strange Hall of "Underdogs" display on the far wall.) Flipdaddy's obviously wants to pull in Mariemont families, but in doing so they have sacrificed any chance of getting the rough-around-the-edges burger-bar atmosphere that adults actually find enticing. The very young staff seems pretty green. 2 stars X .25 = .5 stars. .7125 (beer) + 1.05 (food) + .5 (decor/atmosphere/service) = 2.2625 Sorry, Flipdaddy's: That rounds down to two stars for Yelp purposes. But check my math. N.B. If you're totally good with passing up the food and just sampling good beer at the bar in a room full of suburban families and retirees, or in an atmosphere in which Deepak Chopra might feel comfortable, Flipdaddy's should be rated considerably higher than I rate it. UPDATE (5/2015): We tried Flippdaddy's again over the winter, and, given the somewhat high prices for this sort of fare, nothing about the experience suggested that an upgrade is warranted.

I've been here multiple times and the food is always really good!! The beer cheese with pretzels are yummy. The meat blend for the burgers is tasty. The sweet potato fries are good plus the cinnamon sauce they come with is amazing. Their grilled Mac and cheese is addicting! And their salads are good too. I didn't eat all of that in one sitting I swear! They have a lot of beer options too, if that's your thing. The outside seating is nice when the weather is good. The only downsides are so-so service (depends on who you get) and the prices (outrageous).

We go in this place several times a month and then we forget about it for awhile. We were here last week and the acoustic guitar player was so good - we went back tonight. I may be dreaming about the onion rings and stuffed mushrooms tonight. Yummy.........Not to mention that they have Coke products! I have ordered salads which are good but I highly recommend the burgers if you want to experience Flip Daddy's at their best. It IS A burger joint. And the TV's are in good spots if you need to keep an eye on the score of your favorite teams/sports. Our waiter liked hockey and skiing but the bike trail is near and so is a golf course. You can find a sand volleyball place and a running shoe store almost like the old Bob Roncker's. Have...an onion ring and go jogging/biking. It's healthy, right?

I have become one of those people with less-than-favorable outlooks on Flipdaddy's. And it is sad. My last review was years ago. We loved this place, we lived down the street. Hell, we had our wedding rehearsal here, my husband's bachelor party, and more. We loved this place. We moved away and each time we came in town, we would get excited for Flipdaddy's. A bit ago, we started noticing a slow decline. Meat quality not as good, prices going up, things changing. To start the buns are never as fresh as they once were. That was sad part one. Then they changed the pretzels and beer cheese - you get less cheese (from a giant cup to a fairly small one) and the type of pretzels they used. They are no longer the delectable things they once were. They are forgettable now. The burger prices went up, but I can't say the taste did too. It is always fattier now and I have found bits of unrendered fat as well as a more uneven cook than ever before on the burgers. It's not the best place anymore. We haven't wanted to come back since the last time (earlier this year, I'm slow at writing these reviews these days), and unfortunately, what once was in our top list of restaurants ever, has slid down over the years.

Very, very fun hang out with friends. Their burgers are so tasty! They have many beers choices on tap. Great music. Easy parking. Doesn't look like it, but it is!

I'm not sure how I feel about Flipdaddy's. Our service was good, but the food and ambiance was kind of meh. I came here with a large group, and we sat outside, which was great cause it was beautiful outside. I like that they're big group friendly and that they have an outdoor patio. Our server immediately took our drink orders (nice, fast service!). Their beer list is pretty extensive, and since my fiance ordered the craft beer of the month, he got to put his name in to win a stainless steel cooler. Pretty cool! I like that they do fun promotional items like that, and it definitely worked on us because he ordered three of those beers. haha Now the food....The menu threw me off because it's kind of confusing to read, and the layout and stock photography makes it feel like I'm in a Red Robin or something...It feels like a chain to me. Almost everyone in our group got a burger (because most of their menu is burgers). I got the Jive Turkey burger, and my fiance got the buffalo chicken wings. My burger was ok...It tasted all right, but nothing too memorable. It also came out kind of luke warm. The beef burgers were better. The chicken wings were really tasty, and my fiance said he would definitely be back for those wings! The fries were the thin crispy ones, and they were really good. The decor was kind of boring in my opinion, and to me it felt like a chain sports bar, even though I know it's local. I don't know, I guess it felt over-developed or something. I would probably come back though because I liked the patio, the beer selection, and the service. Overall, not too bad!

We were sharing the Colossus burger, two patties fried pepperoni pepper jack cheese onion ring and BBQ sauce. The cook was nice enough to split the patties into two separate sandwiches. Was one of the best burgers we ever had.

Will definitely be back!! Always been curious especially since it's close to our future home. It was delicious and the burger was HUGE!! Hubbers got the burger with the fried egg on it and I got the French one with tons of cheese on it. Excited to have a local burger place to go to!!!

Burgers and Beer are big business these days. Almost everywhere you look there is some place touting Burgers and craft beers. This place reminds of Red Robin, but SUBSTANTIALLY better burgers and beer selection. Asked for my burger (mac daddy) medium, came perfectly medium. Onion rings are like anchor chains. Fries did what fries are supposed to do, compliment the burgers. Check this place out.

Flip Daddy's is an excellent choice if you are hungry for a great burger or thirsty for a great beer. Their rotating taps are great because as you continue to go the beers are constantly changing. If you like a little kick to your burger, my absolute favorite is the Chuck Norris. A nice touch to any one of the burgers is the pretzel bun. Just ask to get yours in one even if it isn't listed on the menu. Their waiters, waitresses, and bartenders are all super nice people and truly make you feel welcomed. I love this place and will continue to visit.

Usually this place is consistently good. Service is always great. On average I come at least once a week. I recommend the Flip Daddy burger with cheese. They have a lot of other items to choose for a variety of taste.

This place is alright. Its a basic bar and grill. T.V.s everywhere. Good alcohol selection and friendly staff. The most enjoyable part of my several visits has been the interactions with the staff. The food: The burgers are very bland and I'm pretty sure not seasoned. I mean, really, why make a burger if you're not going to have any flavor to it!! The only one worth a darn is the Mac Daddy and thats because the mac n cheese is pretty good so it actually flavors the burger some. I do like most of the appetizers. The food altogether is nothing to write home about. Maybe I'm just really picky about the burgers because I'm such a burger fan but once I get a burger and it consistently has no flavor, I'm out.

Great burgers! One of the BEST places in town for a good burger, but also good salads and sandwiches. I can highly recommend the wedge salad and the outstanding sweet potato fries. I saw a comment stating "bland". Obviously they did not try the " Chuck Norris" or the "Rise and Shine", two of my favorites! As an aside, a prominent local magazine recently reviewed the best burgers around Cincinnati. Flipdaddy's was not on the list which I found to be a glaring omission. Maybe a blind tasting would be in order. Anyway, check it out and decide for yourself.

Maybe it was an off night. Our server (Hannah) was friendly and gets high marks. We got seated fast. Unfortunately the beer selection was just OK, one local handle? It took a while to get our food but it was universally warm. Burgers, fries, and especially grilled macaroni and cheese need to be hot. My wife sent hers back but I just ate mine and wondered what happened to such a great burger and craft beer joint.

This review is on behalf of Bloody America: bloodyamerica.com The owner of Flipdaddy's was in a search of the best burgers and best beers, hence Flipdaddy's was born. They make no exception with their Guinness Bloody Mary...made with absolute peppar vodka, homemade mix, and just enough Guinness to get you through the day splashed on top! Absolutely DELISH! The only thing that would make this Bloody better would be to put a burger on it! scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.…

We just went here with a group of 7. It was just a great experience all the way around! Service was friendly and fast. All of our food was out within 12 minutes. I got the chuck Norris burger with the amazing grilled mac n cheese. The burger was pretty good. With jalapeños and some yummy sauce. The Mac and cheese was to die for. I love this place!

Me and my boyfriend were looking for a different burger joint and this popped up in our search. It was dead when we went (but it was the middle of the day during the work week) and the our waitress quickly got us seated and got out drinks. I got the Oktoberfest burger and I have to say, one of the best burgers I've ever had. I was full half way through and didn't wanna stop. You could tell their fries are fresh. The only thing, if their cease dressing is done in house, they make it a tad bit salty. Definitely will be back.

Flipdaddy's is along the lines of something like "RED ROBIN" only a bit more expensive, so I honestly don't know if the average food and service is worth the above average pricing... First, I was not impressed by the appetizer we tried. It was the FLIPCHIPS which are bascially crispy saratogo chips topped with melted cheddar, BBQ and bacon. For $6.99 I expected to get A LOT more, and to be honest only the top layer of chips had cheese, BBQ and a small amount of bacon. I got the Blackened Bayou Burger with the grilled mac and cheese. It was a pretty good portion and tasted pretty good, but again, I really don't think it was worth the whopping $12+! I liked the fact that my burger had a nice brioche bun, but I did not like the fact that it was soaked with burger juices and was quite soggy by the time I ate the burger! Not, sure if this was because my burger was sitting around for awhile before served, or because they need to get thicker bun that will stand up to all the juices. Our service was average-good, with our server being pretty attentive. My guess is that it would have been VERY GOOD service if it wasn't so busy. Flipdaddy's was along the lines of something like "RED ROBIN" only a bit more expensive, so I honestly don't know if the average food and service is worth the above average pricing...

The food is AWESOME. I wish I could say the same about the environment. It's in a strip mall, and looks like it from the inside out. The grilled mac and cheese is a must. They have a great beer selection too, but their burgers are the real winners! I had the swiss cheese and mushroom one, and my companions both had the mac daddy. The fries are delicious and the portions are big! DO NOT PASS ON THE BEER CHEESE. It's served with pretzel bites, and WOWZA. So yummy! They also have plenty of screens, so you definitely won't miss the game. Take your burger date/food lover (not to be mistaken with "foodie") friend! Their food won't disappoint!

Great Food, nice atmosphere and a very friendly / helpful staff. I recommend the whiskey bacon burger with the sweet potato fries! We did however go on a "trivia night" and jt was extremely loud, but overall fun. It was only annoying because we didn't know it was trivia night and wanted to have a nice quite meal. That won't prevent us from going back though!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. It is a perfect place for a night out and has a great craft beer selection on tap, and everything on the menu is outstanding. Every burger on the menu is outstanding, but it is hard to pass up the Chuck Norris - a perfect burger on a perfect bun with just enough spice. I recommend to anyone.

Great burgers and selection of craft beer on tap. They have tvs inside the bar and outside so you don't have to lean out to watch sports games when sitting at the bar. Friendly staff. Sometimes can get overcrowded especially on Trivia night and during sports games. A little pricey (burgers around $11) but deliciously crafted. Clever menu ("bean me up Scotty" black bean burger) that really offers a more gourmet experience. More of a family restaurant than a bar, so don't expect to not trip over at least one poorly supervised small human skipping around. Small outdoor patio. Parking is alright but they share a lot with the shopping mall so if busy, sometimes difficult to find a place to park. Known to close if there's bad weather often which stinks but if you follow their social media accounts they will post closings.

I'm a burger carnivore. This place is overpriced and I most likely won't return. The beers cost as much as the burgers should cost. The burgers are your non-traditional burgers, flat and narrow patties. None of the burgers on the menu made me want to try one, I came close to building my own, but the waiter recommended I try the mushroom burger, and I added the patty to it. My first burger was overcooked, I ordered medium rare and it came out medium. The manager came over, seemed to try to justify the mistake; he even said med-rare was difficult due to the thin patties... The 2nd burger came out fast, was piping hot, cooked appropriately, and tasted good. They charged me for the sweet potatoes fries and I received regular fries. The fries were piping hot and seasoned well. The menu boasts about their chicken wings being bigger than what I thought a normal chicken wing would be. They were your average sized chicken wings, overpriced again. The dry-rub tasted excellent, the wings were hot and crispy, the blue cheese was chunky, just the way I like it. If I could just get over those prices, this would be a great place to eat.

Ehhh- not impressed. The good parts about this restaurant were the service was nice, and the atmosphere is pretty fun! The down side- the food was not the best... First of all, being vegan there was nothing I could choose from besides salads (not even the black bean burger!) My parents also weren't satisfied with what they had gotten. I guess for drinks this place would be fine, but food-wise I would go with somewhere else!

great burger buns with a select cut of burger meat that grounded in house. Meat is juicy with a smoother texture than most places. got the chimichurri burger. thumbs up for bring out unique toppings and flavors. descent beer selection and a good place to watch sport games. worth at least trying once but i stick to my guns with other places.

Good meal overall. Compares favorably with Red Robin-- less corporate and less "flair"( for you Office Space fans). Cost is the downside. But-- good burgers, and great service from top to bottom--service is clearly a priority. My wife is vegan-- and she thought the "Bean me up Scotty" burger was one of the best. We will be back!

I have been here several times now, mostly because someone in my family really enjoys the food and so we often come just for him. Everything about it is pretty middle of the road. I usually try a different burger each time and while they are good they are certainly nothing terribly special. The thing they have going for them is a wide selection of burger toppings and a decent draft list. Throw in the TVs everywhere and the staff of mostly high school age kids and you've got your typical neighborhood bar and grill. If I lived down the street I could see myself coming in once in a while for a burger and not being disappointed. However tonight pushed me to finally writing a review. While the service is always a little slow tonight it was one mistake after another. We were promptly seated by a friendly hostess at 6:00pm and then fairly quickly approached by a gentleman who said he was helping out and would get our drink order while we waited for our server. So he took our drink order and then never returned. A little over 10 minutes later our server showed up with waters and took the rest of our drink order and the excuse that she has a lot of tables and is very busy tonight. I asked for one of the beers on the menu and got a confused look back, after pointing out the beer she realized it was something they have but they were out of it (she later told the table behind us they were out of another as well). The drinks finally showed up a few minutes later. Now almost 25 minutes after being seated we finally got our food order taken. Another guest with me asked about whether the fish tacos were flour or corn which she was unclear on but finally realized they were flour. A full 50 minutes after being seated we finally got our burger delivered by probably the 5th person the work at our table. The burgers were predictably okay however one order came out wrong and another had been substituted with onion straws instead of onion rings presumably because they were out of rings or the menu is just mislabeled. The plates were greasy on the edges and the burgers somewhat lukewarm. To top it all off while paying the check our server told us she is training the entire new staff at the soon to open Newport location. What? I was just thinking about what a lack of training, organization and efficiency this place has and they are having the prime example of all that train the next round of employees? I certainly would not recommend this place from a service standpoint and there are comparable burgers elsewhere in the city. UPDATE: Just received a very professional and well written response to a message I sent to their management. They were quick to take responsibility without offering excuses. I applaud a good recovery such as this and I would certainly give them another chance.

I love this place, Two different options for vegetarian meat substitutes and huge array of toppings, the bean me up scotty burger is amazing and their fried pickles are literally the best I've ever had, great beer selection, and the crispy green beans are awesome. great staff.

Good place for beer and burgers. Went on a Wednesday, trivia night, so we decided to play. The draft beer selection was a draw. Actually was surprised that so many of their taps are devoted to "big names" and there weren't too many I haven't tried. Burgers were great. Good selection of special burgers, I'll want to try some different ones every time we go. We'll be back.

I believe when Flipdaddy's was in the thought process the owner was watching "Field of Dreams." The saying from the movie "if you build it, they will come," and the owner was like YEP. It is a great place to get a beer and a burger while sharing some good times with friends and family. The prices for the burgers would be the only negative thing I would say about the place but then again you are getting a quality piece of meat. In conclusion I recommend Flipdaddy's to anyone who likes a good meat burger!!!

If I were a cow, I'd want to be a burger at Flipdaddy's. Well maybe that's not true. If I were a cow, I'd probably want to live in south France. Maybe Provence. I'd take in the beautiful landscape and fragrant countryside while grazing wild herbs and fresh French grass. But... If I were a cow raised for slaughter (sorry PETA folk), I'd want to be a burger at Flipdaddy's. Why you ask? Because the burgers at Flipdaddy's are flippin' money. The hamburgers are a mix of ground chuck, short rib, and brisket which makes for a fanstastic melting pot of yumminess. You can chose to have your burger served up one of 15 ways. My favorite is the El Paso which has roasted red peppers, fresh corn salsa, lettuce, queso cheese and piquant chipotle mayonnaise. If all food in El Paso was like this I'd probably leave Ohio, move to Texas, and become a secessionist (I kid, go USA!). Honestly, the burgers here are so dank money that I would put this as number three in the city behind Arthur's and Gordo's. Unfortunately, however, Flipdaddy's suffers from a very serious problem - poor service. On most days, the service here is more bad than good. And 4 stars is a very, very generous review considering this fact. The servers seem to mope around the place and always get my order wrong. Hey servers, cheer up! You're employed! And at a pretty cool spot that has better than average burgers, 24 beers on tap, and a pretty good clientele base in Mariemont. In any case if you're a lover of good burgers and good beer I'd make your way to Mariemont and try this place ASAP. Also worth mentioning is their buffalo chicken tenders are pretty amazeballs. So good, in fact, that if I were a chicken, I'd want to be... you get the point.

Good beer selection. Delicious burgers. We were there for trivia night, but declined playing as we were not planning on staying for the entire game. A little disappointed that we did not end up playing as we knew a whole lot of the answers! The service was also great, and we will be coming back!

My fiancé and I stumbled upon this place on Saturday afternoon after attempting to go to Terry's Turf Club and finding it over crowded, as normal. We had heard of them and I was a fan of theirs on Facebook but we never had an opportunity to eat there until then. I will say, the food is pretty fantastic! I had the Aloha burger without pineapple, and substituted chicken breast for red meat. I don't even remember putting it down! It was THAT good! The fiancé had the black and tan burger on a pretzel bun and even that was amazing! We ordered beer cheese and pretzels for an appetizer and it was very good, but I feel like it sat in the window or a while due to that "skin" that developed on the melted cheese. Overall, we loved this place and we will go back. The reason why Flipdaddy's only received 4 stars was due to the fact my Diet Coke sat empty for a while before the runner bringing our burgers asked if I wanted a refill. Even thought our server walked past our table more than once. I also deducted that star because this place is pretty pricey! For the two of us to have an appetizer, two burgers, a draught beer and a soda it was $40. That's a little on the pricey side for a burger joint. Nonetheless we'll come back. Maybe next time we'll split a burger.

I really enjoyed our first time to Flipdaddy's. Both food and service were spot on. We went on a Saturday night at 7:00, the place was packed and turning, a very good sign. We were seated and promptly approached for our drink order, and all went very well from there. We recognized our server from another restaurant we've frequented, so they're hiring experienced wait staff and it shows- though that may not have been the case early on, as many of the reviews here suggest. All of our food was terrific, if not mega caloric. But hey, if you're trying to eat healthy and go to a burger and fries and craft brews place anyway, just figure some other Darwinian karma is going to kill you sooner anyway. The beer sampler is a great way to start the evening, pick four from the 24 beers on tap, each in a five ounce glass, served with a sheet of paper reminding you what you ordered and which is which. At $6.00, it works out to be just as cheap per ounce as ordering a single pint. I'm pretty sure, feel free to check my math.

For the past few months my friends have been talking about this place, saying the burgers were amazing and that they were one of the best in Cincinnati. Maybe my expectations were too high but I won't lie, I was really disappointed. There was a great variety of burgers (all with different toppings) and some really unique ideas. One of the guys at my table (a regular) ordered a burger with friend mac and cheese on it and it looked fantastic, and maybe I should have taken his choice, instead I went with a whiskey bacon burger. Now here's where my opinion really started to fail, our waitress (who never gave us her name) was already slacking, which was strange to me considering we were one of two tables there, assured me that if I ordered the burgers medium that they would have a decent amount of pink but not be blood, which is what I prefer. So we placed our order, my husbands for medium well, mine medium, and waited for what seemed like a good deal of time with empty glasses (the whole table) and waited. I wait tables, and I know that it wasn't her fault that when I did get my food that it was very much well done and my husbands was pretty much a hockey puck. I did ask to send mine back because it was just far too over cooked, however my husband just slathered his in ketchup and downed it because he was too hungry to wait for another one. A few moments later what I assumed to be the manager came over and apologized about it which was a nice surprise, I really didn't expect for it to happen so I do give them credit for that. However for the next 15 or so minutes I sat with an empty glass again as well as three more people at my table, only they had at least eaten. Over hearing that the new Cincinnati Beerfest was just tapped from the bartender two of my friends ordered it, when they asked the waitress what beer it was and who made it she had no idea and said she'd go ask, to which she vanished for 5 or more minutes, when she came back she said she didn't know the the name of the beer but that "a lot of people helped make it." before finally bringing my food out. Now after this wait I expected my burger to be at least good, but it was just...meh. I understood instantly why they offered so many toppings seeing that the burger was completely under seasoned and bland, however I will say this, the sweet potato fries were AMAZING. I only finished half my burger before giving up. All in all I was far from blown away and though I would probably come back just for the beer selection (given that I could find someone who knew more about it) and the sweet potato fries. But burger wise I could find a better, cheaper, tastier burger some were like Anderson Township Pub or Terry's Turf Club.

I'm going to be really upfront here and state that I'm mainly reviewing Flipdaddy's for their beer. They have a really nice tap list and they frequently update it. If you sit at the bar, the odds are that the person bartending is going to know a lot about these beers too. I highly recommend sitting at the bar. We've only had one appetizer once and then burgers another time when I wasn't feeling well. For that reason, I don't think I have enough information to review the food, but I'll be back to give it another try and update my review then.

I have visited this location twice and have had great food each time. The most recent visit had prompt service. If your a fan of sweet potato fries, then this place should be your next stop. With any of the speciality burger choices you can replace with chicken or turkey burger. I had grilled chicken with bacon, cheddar cheese and barbecue sauce and it was delicious!

I ate here for the first time only a couple months ago, and have returned several times since. This place specializes in burgers, and they make really good ones via many creative concoctions. The meat is actually a combination of meats (brisket, short rib & ground chuck) and what I like best is the varying sauces they make for different burgers (e.g. chimichurri, green chile and jalapeño compote, etc). They also have a great beer selection with many local brews (I love the Mt. Carmel black rye) and among the best wings in town. I often substitute the wedge salad or grilled asparagus for for fries--a nice option. The staff is great, and seems really happy to be working there. They are also kid friendly, and have a good kids menu.

We have gone to Flipdaddy's about every other week this year. The food generally good but service is inconsistent. Generally the wait staff appear to want to be elsewhere. The burgers are tasty and sweet potato fries are great. Soups are usually pretty good but are pricey and the broth is always too thin. Wait staff never know what the soup is. Place does feel at little sterile and despite our frequent visits never seems very welcoming. Mason location was just the opposite. Friendly staff and atmosphere.

The objective was to find a new place for date night that served some good burgers, had more than Miller Lite, didn't star Chris Berman in a TV commercial, non-smoking, and no band to optimize conversations. Conclusion- Flipdaddy's met all of our expectations and then some, even if there was a guy playing a guitar in the front. Like other reviewers pointed out it did feel like an Applebees, but unlike America's Neighborhood Bar and Grill, there was an extensive beer and burger menu. The beers ranged from traditional micro-brews and imports- Newcastle, Guinness, Stella- and they had some locals like Mt Carmel and Rivercity. The prices ranged from 4-8 dollars. A+ in my book. We instead chose the shakes, which for 3 bucks, were also quality. Think Steak N Shake, but sadly no whip cream. Burgers were really good. I went for the Mac Daddy -or heart attack special or indigestion express, take your pick- which consisted of a Burger topped with mac n cheese wedged between a pretzel bun. I thought the actual burger was so, so in that it was pretty greasy, but the bun and mac n cheese combo was to die for, and if you eat enough of these you just might. The girlfriend got the South American Burger. The same can be said about the meat, but the salsa spice combo was delectable. A fresh, spicy medially of goodness smathered on a burger. To round out the review, the service was fast, efficient, and very helpful. Lots of TVs to watch the game. I also think there was a photo of Neil Patrick Harris on the wall. In addition there is some kind of beer club that they have, this might be the reason i return. Maybe not the best burger in town, but Flipdaddy's does a great job for beers and brews without breaking the bank. What more could you ask for?

I was holding off on my review of Flipdaddy's until I had given these guys a couple chances to impress me. When they first opened, I agree with many of the reviews that the service was not so hot. But I think the owners of Flipdaddy's have looked seriously at reviews and feedback and have taken good steps to improve. So to my review. Most outstanding selection of beer anyplace on the East Side... check! Fantastic selection of gourmet style burgers... check! Friendly and Courteous waitstaff.... check! I have now had a couple of their menu items and have enjoyed them all. El Paso Burger, The Chuck Norris Burger, Beer Cheese and Pretzels! But hands down, bar-none, top of the line is the Oktoberfest burger. If all it was was a perfectly seasoned piece of meat and a pretzel bun it would still be outstanding. but then you add the horseradish cheese and grilled onions and sauerkraut and bacon and pickles and dijon mayo and holy crap I am drooling just thinking about it! The service in general is still a touch on the slow side, but if you know that going into it and have a local draft beer to enjoy, then you can just hang out and watch the game on TV or enjoy your dinning partner's company.

This place is great! We only recently discovered it, and keep going back for more! They even have a beer club, from which my husband came home with a set of glassware. Inventive burgers and a wide selection of quality beers on tap (24?). Even have Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale on tap, and it's only $4 a glass! One of my favorites about this place is there selection of quality side items: fries, sweet potato fries, mac n cheese, side salad, or asparagus. Yum!

Flipdaddy's is a hidden gem of a burger spot in Cincinnati. Located on the east side, it may be a little out of they way for those of us not on that side of town, but it is definitely worth a trip. Not only are their burgers delicious, they have all kinds of interesting and innovative burgers to choose from! For example, during our trip my friend and I decided to each get a different burger, split it in half and swap an end, so we could effectively try two burgers in one sitting. I chose the El Paso burger,a southwestern themed burger complete with red peppers and queso cheese, and my friend chose the Mac Daddy, Flipdaddy's signature burger served with mac n cheese on top and inside of a pretzel bun. Both of which were extremely delicious. Not only was the food absolutely amazing at Flipdaddy's, the place was extremely clean and had a very chill atmosphere. I was told that they do trivia at night and the place gets absolutely packed, which I can easily believe. The only real complaint I have about my visit, other than this place is so far away from my house, is that the service was a little lacking. It seemed like everything just went in slow motion, from being seated, to getting our food, to getting our check. Had it been busier, I would have completely understood but we were one of maybe 3 people in the whole place. Plus, there had to have been at least 10-15 waitresses walking around and not one of them seemed to be bothered with us just being left there. Had the service been different, this place would have easily gotten five stars from me. Maybe next time Flipdaddy's!

Really starting to come into it's own, the burger combinations are excellent, and the build your own options are good too, not arthur's good, but good. I tend to order my burgers a little rarer than other places, they tend to either overcook, or their special blend cooks quicker than regular beef. The beer selection is top notch and a slightly friendlier budget than Dilly Deli. Now if we could have them host a burger madness event...

If you are in the mood for a good burgar without breaking the bank, this is a great place. My mood of going there at first was just luke warm, but after seeing all the different burgers on the menu and enjoying the nice personalities of the wait staff, I quickly warmed up. I have been there twice so far, and both times, the wait staff was nothing but pleasant and nice - they way it should be. I don't go crazy with my burgars - kind of a plain jane actually - but, it was absolutely amazing. Big enough that I was able to take 1/2 home for lunch the next day! The beer selections are very nice also.

Flipdaddy's is a great place to grab a burger and find a new favorite beer each time. It's probably a good place when you're waivering between grabbing a quick bite or tacking a few drinks onto dinner, as it allows a great combo of both. They have a friendly staff along with interesting burgers and beers. I would recommend grabbing a seat around 630 and satisfying your thirst before the $5 burger deal starts at 7:30pm on Wednesdays, but don't stick around for the trivia unless you know the trivia host. It's done in strange categories that can make or break the fun!

Well, another stop on the "10 Best Burgers in Cincinnati" 2010 tour with my daughter. This time it was a late Sunday afternoon lunch, with the restaurant being relatively uncrowded on this particular day. There were perhaps a total of two people at the bar, with four tables occupied throughout the remaining divided dining area. We seated ourselves at a table by one of the large picture windows on the bar side, and grabbed a couple of menus. As we looked over the menu, we both commented that the interior seemed very open and airy. Earth tones dominate the room, and there is what I would describe as very comfortable lighting. There is nice stone work surrounding the back bar. The place has a very classy, casual feel to it. My daughter remarked that this would be an awesome design for either a family room or basement hangout. I thought it would make an awesome bedroom scheme. We were greeted promptly by our server, and immediately went about ordering our drinks. My daughter asked for a Coke, while I started perusing the beer menu. I asked the server about other dark beers that they had, and was a little surprised that she was relatively unfamiliar with porters and stouts, and dark beers in general. I settled on a "21st Amendment Back in Black", a very hoppy black IPA. While our drinks were coming, we discussed the burger options, as they are many and they are varied. My daughter settled on a medium rare "Asian Fusion Burger" with pineapple, red and yellow peppers, all in a teriyaki sauce. She chose the sweet potato fries as her side. I had the chili and jalapeno covered "Chuck Norris Burger", with onion rings as my side. As we waited, we noticed that while the NFL game on the TV's around the room was not the Bengals (blackout?), the room was filled with a radio broadcast of the hometown team. I found that to be a nice touch for the local patrons. I don't know if they have an NFL package here, as many places like this do (think InCahoots in Blue Ash). If not, I might suggest that for next year, as it would have been nice to have a few different games showing on the screens on an NFL Sunday afternoon such as this. The food arrived quickly, as would be expected considering the lack of other patrons. My daughter thought that her burger was very good, cooked perfectly to order, and with nice flavors in the teriyaki toppings. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly, and had a taste that reminds you of a Thanksgiving sweet potato casserole. Dip one in the accompanying warm cinnamon sauce, and you have dessert on a plate. A little sweet for my taste to go with a burger, but my daughter loved them. My burger was cooked a little past medium rare, more in the medium to medium-well range, but it was still very juicy and flavorful. The patty was not overly huge, but it was patted out thick, had a nice texture, and was seasoned well. The chili and jalapeno toppings were good, not too hot, but still having a spicy kick. The onion rings that came with my "CN Burger" were fantastic. I found them to be large, hot and very tasty. They were accompanied by a mildly spicy southwestern dipping sauce, which actually might have been a spread intended to go with my burger, but it went very well with the onion rings. The buns on both were soft and fresh. We both found our meals to be very good, the service good and the atmosphere nice. I would have liked a little more knowledge from our server regarding the available beers in stock, as they advertise themselves to be beer specialists and tout their beer menu (remember it is "Flipdaddy's Burgers and Beer") . I appreciate the fact that she was young and probably not a beer connoisseur, but it is a little uncomfortable when the patron has to correct the server about beer fundamentals in an establishment like this. Flipdaddy's is a nice addition to the area, and a place that I would definitely come back to to try some of the other burgers, and to sample some more of their beers.

Flipdaddy's is a four star restaurant as an alternative to a chain like Applebee's or Friday's. As compared to everything else, I give it three stars. Reading the menu, I actually began to salivate when I read that their burgers are a blend of "short rib, ground chuck and brisket." I imagined a deeply flavorful, juicy burger. There are a number of menu items with cute names corresponding to the toppings, like the "Chuck Norris" with spicy sauce and pepper jack cheese. They have a nice beer selection, and I got a Mt. Caramel Amber Ale as I waited for my Black and Tan burger (Onion's seared in Smithwick's, Guinness Reduction, Irish white cheddar). When it arrived, I was slightly let down. I didn't get a hit of beef flavor like I thought I was going to - it just tasted slightly bland. The reduction and the onions didn't taste like much either. And why was there a bed of limp, shredded lettuce underneath my burger? It didn't do much for me. Service was very good, there was no wait for a table, and it was easy to carry on a conversation in the dining room. The burgers and beers are reasonably priced, and the decor is minimalistic but appropriate. I wouldn't rule out a return trip to Flipdaddy's if I'm on that side of town again. What I hope for, if I do go back, is a better selection of toppings. Sharper cheddar, fresher veggies, bolder sauces. If I was editing the menu, I'd throw a couple of the more tired topping combos right out (the teriyaki-pineapple-pepper combo comes to mind). I'd narrow the signature burgers down to maybe eight and make them really memorable. As it is, Flipdaddy's is worth a stop for lunch or dinner if you're in the area and you've got a burger craving. All others, proceed to Terry's Turf Club.

Burgers and Beer, two of my favorites. While I like the Mariemont area its not often I get out there. I was in the mood for burgers and beer and decided to make the trek out to Mariemont to try Flipdaddys. While they have other options, burgers and beer are definitely the focal point here. They do have a very good craft beer selection. There are 24 beers on tap, but 4 of them were out when we visited. A decent variety of beers as well, ranging from light to dark and everything in between. The burger was just ok, pretty much a standard chain restaurant burger. They do have lots of different burger toppings, if I go back I will add bacon since bacon makes everything taste better. I did enjoy the pretzel bun. The atmosphere wasn't much to write home about. Pretty much a bland chain restaurant feel. I was a little surprised with how many kids were there. Didn't expect a place that is partially known for its beer to have so many families. But it didn't bother me or anything, just didn't expect it. The staff was very friendly and checked back with us often. Overall Flipdaddy's is a decent place to get a burger and a brew. I wouldnt go out of my way to go there, but if you are in the area and looking for a place to eat/drink, its a good place to stop.

Billed as "burgers and beers," I was confident this would be a successful dinner stop. Good burgers: Check Robust craft beer draft selection: Check Friendly, prompt service: Check A wall of photos of "underdogs," ranging from Ghandi to the Harry Potter kids to some athletes I didn't recognize to the canine superhero Underdog himself, instigating amusing conversations amongst our group: ...check? Though I don't really get what Hermione Granger has to do with burgers and a beers.

I've been to Flipdaddy's a couple of times now. The food is slightly above average, but I'll admit that I make my choice on dinner places a lot of times based on the wine or beer list. The beer selection and staff make Flipdaddy's four stars in my book. I got a burger both times. First time, the rise and shine burger (eggs and bacon on it)...second time, the Oktoberfest burger (pickles, bacon/mayo spread, sauerkraut w/ pretzel bun). The burgers were good, but nothing really wowed me. The fries could be better. The appetizers were good both times. We had the fried pickles and pretzel bites w/ beer cheese. Our server was great, and the owner makes the rounds which is also a nice touch. I know how hard many small business owners work, and the owners seem to take a genuine interest in making customers happy. I'll be back for the people and the beer that they have on tap.

I have been here twice now and the burgers are exceptional. Cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. Great draught beer selection. Despite the fact that the owner stopped by my table on both visits, the service is spotty at best. Both times our servers were not the sharpest tools in the shed and seemed to forget about us for long stretches. The atmosphere is completely forgettable - McDonald's has more charm.

If you advertise yourself as a Burgers and Beer place. Then you would think the place takes those two things very serious. Not the case with Flip Daddys in Mariemont. I went to Flip Daddys with my Dad and sister for late lunch. We knew the location because we had dined there before when it was something else. The strip mall where it is located seems to be a black hole for restaurants. As every other one has closed because of lack of interest. But we were up for trying this new place. And my father likes a good burger. He is a die hard fan of In & Out and, more locally, Zips. So he was excited to try a new place. Upon entering this place, it already throws you off. It is trying for trendy and dive bar at the same time. But for some reason they must have fired their designer half way, because the place is only half decorated. I kid you not. We were shown to a table by a very nice hostess and told that Heather would be serving us. We were then served by a man, not named Heather. Anyway, he was not ready for our order when he asked if ww wee ready. He took our order without asking us the basic questions that would come from a burger place, such as " how would you like it cooked". Later Heather would tell us it was his first day so I won't give the kid a hard time. But I will give him this o e word of advice: serve as you would liked to be served. And smile! The food was subpar. For one our appetizer came with our main meals. And everything is served really small. I know we have an obesity problem in America. But this is a burger place. The portions should be on the large size. Our buns were stale. Our fries were buried. It felt like we were eating at a culinary school, but only being served the failed projects. Our waiter would only check on us when we needed refills. And by the end of our meal, Heather had pretty much taken over and started apologizing for the bad service. As we left it seemed we were not the only one complaining. I heard two other tables complain about their food being dry and stale. Not a good sign. Overall I don't think I go back. I know better places for both burgers and beers. And some of them excel at both! I think the black hole in Mariemont has claimed another victim.

Jim goes for the beer, Hannah loves the mac n cheese, I'm all about the food. Their selection of beer is fantastic. The weather was mild enough to eat outside Friday, 9/16/2011. I love their burgers, but decided to try one of their salads. The waitress recommended the southwest chicken, and it was delicious, very fresh, and absolutely yummy! If you do get the chance to check them out, they do get crowded, but it's worth the wait. Don't be afraid to try their turkey burger! The staff is great too.

I went to Flipdaddy's at 11:30 on a Saturday morning so I won't speak to their beer selection - although it looks great. They were serving brunch for the first time. I got a burger instead and it wasn't too bad. I got the South American burger (can't recall the actually name) and it was a mix of good and bad. The burger was well cooked but the toppings were so-so. The other bad part was the food took incredibly long to come out. And when it did they brought it out in waves. I was with a group of 6 people and I find it incredibly obnoxious when food comes out at different times. It's annoying. I probably won't go back for a while. It's a fairly new place so I'll give them some time to get their act together.

Pretty good bar restaurant that is family friendly. Big place with several sections. They specialize in gourmet burgers, so that's what we ordered. It was good but rather small for what you pay. The sweet potato fries were very good. Upside: The draught beer selection is one of the best I've seen. It's a good place for beer drinkers. Kind of an odd location in a strip mall. Glad I tried it and would probably go back for the sweet potato fries.

The first thing I noticed upon walking into Flipdaddy's was that it seems to have an identity crisis. It has this posh, upscale bar atmosphere, while at the same time maintaining an old-fashioned burger-joint decor. In a word, it was just weird. The place was practically empty for noon on a Friday, yet we waited for what seemed like an eternity to be seated. The waiter, while competent, seemed to have interest elsewhere. It was almost like he was reading off a script instead of engaging in the conversation and banter you'd expect from table service. The food redeemed the place. I had the Jack Daniel's burger. It was cooked perfectly, had exceptional flavor, and was generously topped with bacon and cheese. For my side, I upgraded to the grilled mac & cheese. (If you've read my reviews, you'll notice this is a benchmark for casual dining in my book!) It was generous portion wrapped in cheese and then grilled. It was fabulous! And believe me, that's saying a lot about it. I cleaned my plate, which is very unusual for me. My friend had a different burger and the fries. The fries were perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There were 4 or 5 other burgers on the menu that looked good, so I will likely go back. They also have 24 beers on tap, so perhaps next time I'll make it after work so I can sample a few. Hopefully, they'll improve on their service, because the location isn't going to draw customers in. Like a previous reviewer said, there is a black hole in this Mariemont location where even good restaurants go to die. It will certainly meet the same fate without a few improvements.

I'm not sure what it is about beer and burgers, but I am somewhat obsessed with finding the best of both. I believe I would be wholly obsessed with it were I a richer man. Beer is a little easier. It's more about finding a restaurant with a great beer selection. Burgers...those have proved to be a little more difficult. After doing some research on the Interwebz, I decided to check out Flipdaddy's. They seemed to have a good selection of both beer and burgers. The location is somewhat tucked away in the corner of an unassuming strip mall on Wooster Pike. Being an avid basketball fan, and it being March, I was somewhat disappointed they only had three TVs. And the one they sat us in front of had soccer on it. In March. Seriously. There were two menus. Food and beer. The beer menu was astounding. It had the beer, the level of hops in each beer, and the price. In most places you go you are lucky to find a list of beers, much less this level of information. I have been on an IPA kick as of late, and ordered accordingly, the Harpoon IPA. Then I remembered why most places priding themselves on beer selection don't usually have such descriptive beer menus. Because they are constantly rotating their stock. All beers are rotated, seasonal in particular. Don't get me wrong, this is a good thing, and when the waitress said she didn't know if they had the Harpoon for sure, but they did have Dogfish 90 Minute IPA on sale (for $2!) I was more than happy to accept the substitute. It's worth mentioning that the Harpoon IPA was only $4, also a reasonable price. I ordered the Blackened Bayou Burger. Remoulade sauce, Cajun onions and Havarti cheese. To be quite honest, I had no idea what Remoulade sauce was, but I knew good and well what blackened burger, Cajun onions and Havarti cheese were, and they sounded delicious. The burger came out and it was...a burger. I think sometimes places think just because they have a big burger, people will rave about it. And I will give them that, it was a big burger. But it was thoroughly mediocre. First off, it was nowhere near "blackened" and secondly it tasted pretty much like any other burger I've ever had in my life. Better than, say, Wendy's, but probably not as good as Five Guys. Just a burger. Lot of onions on it. Guess that's a plus. Safe to say the search for best burger in Cincinnati continues. I would give Flipdaddy's a 3 which, in my mind is perfectly average, except for one thing. When I asked them to please change the television from soccer to a basketball game...ANY basketball game...in MARCH, mind you, the manager promptly came over and changed it. To hockey.

I ate at Flipdaddy's with my girlfriend and it was a great place. It had indoor and outdoor seating, a large beer selection, a great variety of burgers (I got the Asian infusion). The staff was very nice and even gave good recommendations on the burgers when asked. After dinner we went down the road a bit to Hahana Beach, a bar that offers sand volleyball and a great atmosphere. I'm definitely going to Flipdaddy's again.

I love Flipdaddys! I haven't been in about a year until this week and the food was as great as it was before and I'm glad much hasn't changed in a year. I ordered the Oktoberfest burger which is usually what I get if I'm not getting the French Connection burger. The burger was amazing, the pickles and sauerkraut added a nice crunch to the burger and the aioli was a great addition. I ordered my burger cooked medium and it came out just as I asked. The pesto fries are also a great side to order if you are wanting to get the free side, it seems like a better offer than saratoga chips. The only issues I usually have with Flipdaddys is that the burgers become messy and they just seem to fall apart and I have to resort to eating the burger with a fork and knife. All and all I will defiantly return it is a great environment with a friendly wait staff. Defiantly would recommend to a friend or family member.

Though a bit light on the beef, they will cook to order-sometimes getting it rare and sometime not. Nice menu and good service. Though haven't taken advantage, there is an outdoor patio.

My burger had a cold bun, a lukewarm food service beef patty, and a heaping helping of greasy fries (oil was too cool and they soaked up the oil). Onion rings had a corn-dog batter, and were OK. Its kind of like when your college dorm cafeteria did "burger night"...about that quality. There were plenty of people in the restaurant, and they just kept piling in.....for the beer. So, I guess if the plan is to drink your dinner this place is a great spot.

Cincinnati Magazine recently released their list of the top burgers in Cinci. Had Flip Daddy's been in existence when the article was written I believe they would have easily made the list. My family and I each had a different burger and we were all very satisfied. We sampled the Flip Daddy Burger, the El Paso Burger (our favorite), and the backyard burger (the burger of the month). They were all cooked exactly as we expected. The El Paso burger, with its corn salsa, showcased a type of burger I had not experienced before. The selection of beers on tap was endless and although the service was at times questionable this can certainly be attributed to the recent opening of the restaurant. I have recommended this great new addition to Cincinnati dining to all of my friends.

I really liked this place. It isn't a traditional burger joint so I won't compare it to Zip's or Terry's because those place are more about the beef than about the whole package. This place makes excellent gourmet burgers and there is a nice variety to try. I love the burger with basil, tomato and mozzarella. Not exactly your typical burger, but still delicious. The beer selection is also really good and they have growlers where you can take home some of the craft beers. It is a little out of the way which is the only reason I am deducting a star. Otherwise, the service was great and I can't wait to go back. I did not like the sweet potato fries though, Arthur's are much better.

This unassuming corner strip mall spot hides one of the best burgers in (the edge of) town. The extensive menu has multiple interesting burger options ranging from conventional to strange but delicious. I favor the Chuck Norris (green chiles and jalapenos) but recently had the Oktoberfest (with horseradish and a pretzel bun) to get in the mood of the season. Generous sides complete a meal and then some. They have other options including salads and interesting sandwiches (veg and otherwise) in case you have someone who doesn't want a burger in your party, although you might want to be more choosy about your dinner companions. What's a burger without a good beer or four? And this place doesn't leave you hanging. Their always rotating selection is scrawled on the blackboard above the large bar with seasonal and local favorites. They pay homage to beers gone but not forgotten with the tap "graveyard" that winds through the dining area. I was super excited to find out they also have quiz night on Monday. A wandering DJ shouts questions through the spacious two room dining area and over the bar and sounds of sporting-event of the moment for families and groups of friends. I won't hesitate to come here again and only dock them for their out of the way location (although, that just means more for me)!

My group of 7 just had a very good experience here. It was pretty busy when we arrived around 7pm but only waited 10 mins for our table. This was our first visit and had friendly and fast service throughout the evening. We all enjoyed our food--starting out with "the sampler". We all ordered different burgers with no complaints. My daughter loved the sweet potato fries and others enjoyed the fried Mac n cheese. Everyone was too stuffed to attempt dessert! A couple of us enjoyed sampling the beers and a few enjoyed martinis. Very reasonable priced and comfortable atmosphere to enjoy conversation with each other. Would definitely recommend anyone to Flipdaddy's!!

The sweet potato fries are to die for, and the beer selection is phenomenal. I'm a fan of the $2 beer specials. The burgers are really good as well. I love the Gaucho burger- super garlicy and delicious! I always take friends here, and they love it. I've always had great service and had the manager come around a few times and say hello. It's always been really crowded when I've been there, but I never have to wait long.

I was enticed to eat here because of the beer selection, and I wanted to eat out with family around the holidays. However, I have to give this burger joint a one because the burgers were terrible. The burger that I ordered medium was unevenly cooked, had a gritty texture, and was extremely dry. It wasn't just my burger, but all 4 of the burgers at the table. For a burger restaurant, this is unforgivable. Was the culprit frozen meat or possibly freezer burn? All I now is that the burgers were not good, and I will not be eating here again.

Fantastic burger and a huge beer selection. I opted for the Jack Daniels All American Burger. My burger was a bit more done than I would have liked and my fries were slightly cold. Even with those downfalls the food was still delicious. I'm definitely going to give them another shot!

We saw the first 2 evaluations and were a little concerned. However, it's a local place and we wanted to give it a try. Our group was between a 3 and 4 for the rating, but I'm doing the input so a 4 it is! :-) The burgers were very tasty, but as another rater said, you do need to specify a cooking level if you don't want the burger/brisket/rib meat to be cooked at a tender medium well. I did my burger medium rare and it was excellent. You can top your burger with about 10,000 combinations of fresh ingredients -- check out their website to see all the possibilities. Burger prices are about $8 - $10, but they include french fries or sweet potato fries. You can also add one of their other sides instead for a dolla more. I had the onion rings and they were great, and a friend commented favorably about the mac & cheese as he departed. This place is worth trying!

Probably not a better burger selection in Cincinnati. Same can be said for their beer selection. Good place to bring the kids...my kids favorite since every kid's meal comes with free ice cream. The burger with eggs and bacon on it is great. Only issue is not a ton of selection if you don't want a burger for lunch. New brunch menu has great food for the price.

Burgers are good, cooked medium rare like I ordered it. Great draft beer selection, and the service was very good. But truth is we went there because the wait was too long at Terry's Turf Club. Are Flipdaddy's burgers better than Terry's? No they're not, and they may not even be as good as Anderson Township Pub not far away (where the fries are better). But I would go back to Flipdaddy's; there are some interesting combinations on the menu.

Been there twice. Great beer selection, kid friendly, the burgers are good. The decor/strip mall feel hurts it but it is a nice, casual place to have dinner or enjoy a drink. The services I had both times was excellent.
