How in the world have I lived here all my life and never have heard of this place?? Seriously! I'm disappointed in myself! All those days of coming home and wishing I had a place to just kick my feet up without so much as a care in the world, and it's literally right around the corner from my house! I don't need to move to Florida after all... ok well I may be exaggerating on that one a bit, but still. This place rocks! We pulled into the lot and didn't know what to expect once we got there. The place looked packed, and who could blame everyone with the nice temps yesterday? As I grabbed the door handle it was like your traditional bar.. place to order sit and drink, and a dance floor to the right. Seems like my kinda place on the weekend. Mental note: Come back to shake my booty on a Saturday. However it's not so hopping inside on a Wed. night. We walked out onto the deck behind the place and that's where all the action was. There was a patio bar, tables and chairs scattered about under tents and lights and just general fun-ness abounds. Yes, I said fun-ness. I made up a word for this place because it's THAT fun. We ordered, nothing too out of the ordinary at this place. Good bar type food, drink prices and dinner were all reasonably priced. We sat around by the river and watched as the sun set. It was like being in another state for that 2 hours. I loved it!! Once dinner was over we made friends with a cat named Trooper, who wandered around looking for some love and probably our table scraps. I walked around a bit because this place was pretty big outside. There was a yard where I'm sure many games of corn hole have been played. There were also beach chairs abound on the shoreline above so you could watch the river and see if any cars fall off the Anderson Ferry. (Which I also have to try soon..) I chose the hammock though. I'd been eyeing it since we arrived. It was nice and comfy and would have been perfect had their been some stars overhead to gaze upon. My only complaint.. I wish there had been some type of music playing to add to the atmosphere of the place. Other than that, I'll definitely be back very soon for some more of those potato boats.

If you are reading this review its because you have stumbled upon this magical place and you want to know if it's any good... it's pretty darn good. Depending on what your looking for, the food is meh. Typical bar food. But the view is great. The patio is killer. I go here mainly to have a nice warm summer evening out with a bucket of beer and my besties. They have cornhole, a tiki hut, and lawn chairs you can bring on the sandy beach part, and pina You're wondering why this is starting to sound redneck? It's because this place is where that word probably comes from.

I notice most reviews don't mention the food and this is a good thing. Didn't have a beer, but the water was good. The food was way over priced for what it was and hit or miss on taste. I went in with 3 friends, I got the pot roast sandwich $11 and ordered the $2 onion (rings, well they call them something else). On friend ordered the bbq pulled pork (the free side was potato chips). Another ordered the cheese steak (he ordered waffle fries sadly got chips) another ordered the drews buddy (basically an Italian sub) and waffle fries. Pot roast - not bad for a $7 sandwich (sadly it was $11) BBQ pork - friend said it was good (around ($10) Cheese steak - he could finish it even though he was hungry. Looked like McDonald's burger with toppings Buddy - friend said it was pretty good Didn't hear about the chips or fries. My onion rings were not bad. Atmosphere would be perfect for drinks by the water. The one man band that was playing was pretty good as well. I could see myself coming back but only if I ate somewhere else first. I hope this helps if you decide to come for the fun.

My favorite place to grab a cold beer with friends! Kind of a hole in the wall and mainly inhabited by local west siders so you know your in good company! Opens soon and I can't wait!

Great atmosphere and low key place on the river. A bit hidden and unfortunately difficult to take a cab to and from. Good band with good music. Average age: 40-60. Buckets of beers were $12. Service wasn't great because our server was brand new (I think it was her 2nd day) but there was kind of a tightly wound male bartender who was talking poorly about a few customers to the servers. thats never a good thing to do. One star short because of the sassy bald bartender man.

The kids loved looking at the water and watching the boats....then came the rain! We went inside which was very clean food was good but could have been better. Wings were overcooked but sandwiches were yummy. Menu is limited but adequate for a bar.

Wow, what a well kept secret! If you like very casual outdoor dining, this is a great place. Great view on the river. Great island theme outside. Live music. And surprising great food. Nothing fancy but very well done! The patio bar may be my new favorite watering hole on a nice day. We've just been there once, sat outside, enjoyed the band, had some sliders, and cold drafts. The sliders showed a bit of extra effort...grilled buns, etc. If you can't find it, turn off of 50 towards the Anderson Ferry and take a quick left.

Drew's On The River is one of those places where I'm be happy to wile away the afternoon without a care in the world. Situated right next to the Anderson Ferry, you can sit and watch the Ohio River float by with a beer on a sunny summer afternoon and everything seems right with the world. Good happy hour during the week, decent bar food, and a great place to stop on the way home from the airport or as a break from a weekend bike ride.

Drove 1.5 hrs. here from the Dayton/Spfld. area to see a band... Well worth the drive! Great patio right on the river-- Wish we had made it there in time to see the sun go down... Next time!! Almost missed it, but not too hard to find if you know to turn right across the street from the UDF store! Great variety of bar food (grilled chicken sandwich and a turkey burger at our table) reasonable prices, and attentive service. Hope to go back again soon!!

The beer is cheap and the service is quick; I have not sampled their food. The location is great on the river and parking is ample. The clientele is a bit iffy if you ask me. The few times I've went there was always an assortment of Affliction-tee'd meatheads looking for fights. One of the three times I've attended a fight did break out. There really isn't much "muscle" around for bar staff and it took several of the less roid'd-out-of-their-mind clientele to break it up. I will say that it's a good place to go and relax with a group of friends; listen to some music and watch the river flow by. You can tie on a good buzz for cheap. When it comes to west-side establishments; you can do MUCH MUCH worse.

This is the type of place Yelp was made for. It is kinda like Cheers for the Westside Cincinnati tradesmen but without the brass bar fixtures. This is my brother's favorite bar because, and I quote, "I can go in here in muddy work boots and Carhart at 3 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday right after work and they will let me pass out at the back of the bar if I get drunk andl my friends aren't ready to drive me home until 2am. Then mom or my girlfriend will drive me there in the morning to pick up my truck and sometimes Nick and Goof are already there, so we just start drinking again." I re-enact the above scenario whenever I come home and it is lots of fun. Only I'm usually wearing a dress, because I'm a lady. Plus as I'm writing this review, I'm sitting in Cincinnati and just got off the phone with my brother. He just told me he's going to pick me up and take me out for a day/night on the town at RIVER SALOON!! ****Update****The night I went there was a wet t-shirt contest and a 70 year old woman won. Awesome.
