Having eaten at Don Pablos prior to being on Yelp, I somewhat knew what to expect. However, this is an exceptional visit, and now I'm on Yelp, I will definitely try to be just. I expected good food, good service, good value. I got exceptional service, great food, and the value I've come to expect. Sarah was our server, she did us every kindness and was attentive, even though she seemed to be occupied elsewhere. As a vegetarian, I usually have to pay roughly the same price for the same dish, and just tell them no meat, lol. This time however they were having a fajita sale, which is normally what I get. I was told, when Sarah came back from the manager's office then I was not to be accommodated, that's I would not receive the deal, even though I wouldn't get any meat. I said well, I would like to speak to the manager. A manager came out and explained to me that everything was fine, that I would be part of the sale. I thanked her for her time, reassured Sarah that she wasn't to blame, and then received the bounty of food that Don Pablos is famous for. Asking about my dietary needs, Sarah was very quick and diligence in recommending certain dishes that would fit into my lifestyle. I felt cared for, like not only was I at potential check to them, but that they actually cared that I got precisely what I wanted in less satisfied. Everything was exceptional, the dips we enjoyed, the fajitas, the spoon bread. Never for a moment did we feel rushed, even though it was getting close to dinner time. No one was short with us even the expeditor make sure to tell me that my choices were vegetarian and that she inferred I was vegetarian by the choices I have made to which I responded Sarah actually made those recommendations and she smiled. I miss the times when Don Pablos was more of hey regular experience, and we will be relocating closer to this one so it made me again. Is this experience is any clue as to what I have to look forward to, we will be spending an awful lot of time and Don Pablos.

I think this a neat place inside but the food is sub par at times; however, this a good place to get a couple or Margaritas and snack on chips and dip

Unfortunately, this will be the LAST time I come to Don Pablo's. It is a shame because I used to love this place. I have been here three times in the past year and every single time my experience has been the same: poor food quality, FILTHY dirty and slow service. I am officially done!! Please do not waste one penny of your hard earned money on this place. Go anywhere but here. The days of Don Pablo are PAST and GONE!

The atmosphere here is amazing as always - being inside of the old LeBlond factory really elevates this restaurant to a level it doesn't really earn on its own. I have been going to this Don Pablo's since they opened. It was the restaurant I defaulted to whenever I didn't know what I wanted for dinner because every dish came out hot and fresh. The salsa was obviously made fresh daily and those tortillas fresh off the press?! Amazing. But, that was 12-15 years ago. Today is a different story. Lukewarm chips, salsa that tastes like it's made with italian canned stewed tomatoes, food that is bland at best and just thrown together without care by the kitchen staff (half a breast of chicken for a dinner fajitas order? really?), service that is consistent only in that you can be certain no matter where you are sat, you WILL be ignored by your wait staff and no one on the floor seems to care about that. I have been still pressing my family to return to Don Pablo's over the past few years, but after my last experience here this weekend - we were ignored by our waiter most of the night, part of our order was just never delivered, the women's restrooms were FILTHY (would it hurt these people to wash a wall once a month? Seriously?) and 2 of the three doors inside the women's bathroom don't even latch shut. How is this passing health inspections? - we won't be returning. There are so many flavorful, colorful, vibrant and exciting Mexican restaurants in the Oakley/Hyde Park area at this point that Don Pablo's is really proving to be a dinosaur and reminiscent of a time when having a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant in the area was new, fresh, and exciting. It doesn't live up to its own history and it doesn't live up to the beautiful building it's inhabiting. I look forward to the day when one if its chain competitors takes over from a management and ownership that obviously has stopped caring, so I can look forward to a good meal with great service again in this location.

It's cookie cutter corporate Tex-Mex. Good fajitas and margaritas but not great. Same menu as every other such restaurant. It's a safe place to take mom but with all of the great Mexican restaurants that have sprung up I don't see myself coming here very often.

    (2)
  • Christy C.

Ew. This place is blech. Don Pablo's used to be all the rage. Now, not so much. The chips are fine not hard to mess up chips. The salsa tastes like straight tomatoes from a can. You get these tiny bowls of salsa that the chip doesn't even fit in. I ordered the skinny enchiladas. I didn't enjoy the taste at all. The refried beans were gloopy. The rice was dry. I also ordered the queso to share with the table. No one ate it-- it was like glue. Oh and we were totally ignored by our server. Sorry to complain but it is the truth. They will go out of business and be a distant memory one day.

Don Pablo's you and I are going to stop seeing each other. I love your food, your chips, your salsa, your fajitas, and your margaritas. I can get past the poor acoustics, the sometimes lack of cleanliness, and the shrinking portions. What I can't get passed is awful service. The surly hostess. The poorly trained servers. The lack of managerial oversight. Sitting for 10 minutes without a server acknowledging my family was the final straw. As we left the surly hostess telling us someone was just about to help us. The knowledge at Potbelly that as we were eating our food we just might have gotten drinks at Don Pablo's. The confirmation from the potbelly staff that we aren't the first and certainly won't be the last people who didn't get served at Don Pablo's to make the trek over to Potbelly pretty much sealed the deal. Don Pablo's you and I are through.

What can I say, it's your average Don Pablo's/ any chain- hit or miss. Pretty much expect poor service and the same standard fare you'd receive at any other Don Pablo's location. We were just there again Friday, and while we had no issue being seated quickly, our server was too busy to give us any attention. It was also disconcerting that he elected not to write down any of our orders, so when they arrived incorrectly, we were not surprised. He was difficult to flag down and the appetizer we ordered actually arrived before our drinks did! The plus: It's close and I LOVE the building. The old factory can be seen from all over Rookwood and The ceilings are so high you'd almost think you were outside. Parking is a bit of a pain, as is anyplace in Rookwood. If you're looking for a happy hour or have a large group (that's not in a hurry,) this place would work for you.

Just your typical everyday Mexican fare. Don Pablo's isn't real high on my list of Mexican places to go. I think there are a lot of better mom-and-pop options for Mexican in the Cincy area to be honest. Giving credit where it's due: There are some great weekly specials including "all-you-can-eats". This particular location is in an old R.K. LaBlonde Machine Tool factory, which is a pretty great industrial building. They also like playing some fantastic salsa style Christmas music during the holidays. Good times.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant despite being a chain. All the ones that were in northeast Ohio have closed so imagine my excitement as I find this place in walking distance to my apartment. The warehouse feel is awesome and I think this restaurant deserves a much higher rating than what it currently is.

Our family ate here fot last Labor Day. For lunch, it wasn't crowded. The server was friendly. I ordered enchiladas. The tortilla was a bit too hard compare to other restaurants. But the tortilla for my husband's fahitas was soft and chewy. The dessert, Sundae was delicious. The price was reasonable. Would definitely come again.

  • Lizbeth M.

Don Pablo's food is just okay. Is Americanize Mexican food, but not done completely right. If you just have a quick craving, you can go there and get something that will taste good, just not amazing. I'm not thrilled about this particular location, service is extremely slow no matter what time of the day you go in. Some of the drinks I personally think are over priced and is mostly syrup, so the taste is not appealing.

  • Keith J.

First, this is about the service. As far as Texmex goes, Don Pablo's is pretty good. So many people claim to have a "favorite more authentic local place". Get over yourself. It's almost always exactly the same but with gross store bought tortillas and really greasy, questionable meat. At least DPs has standards. The service at this location is awful. Unless you're at the bar, it will take you an hour and a half to eat here. Last time I was here, it took me 10 minutes to get seated (not very busy) and I sat at a table for 15 minutes without being acknowledged. I left.

Not too bad. The building was neat and the service was good. I ordered the chicken and shrimp and it was pretty good but not as crispy as I would have preferred. Overall a good experience.

I used to love coming here in college (5-6 years ago) but it seems like this place has gone DOWN HILL! The past couple of times I've visited the restaurant seemed dirty with MANY empty, uncleaned tables and smelled bad.

  • Yuna D.

I don't understand why my boyfriend really likes this place. He says it's a "nostalgic restaurant where I order the same thing every time." I'm scared. He's looking over my shoulder while I'm writing this review. Will I survive. I know not. This three is like a compromise for a 2. I tried the boneless wings last time. It was salty. I like salty. This past time I went, I had the chipotle pork tacos. It's a lot of food. The refried bean are okay, and the rice is nice and al dente, but dry. I ended up picking at the pork, which was yummy by itself. I could do without everything else though.

I always enjoy going to Don Pablo's. I know it's a chain, but the food is good and consistent. That being said, I stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. I some flautas that were excellent, and some grilled chicken tacos. I ordered crunchy tacos and got soft. I decided I wouldn't worry about it, but then I noticed the chicken was cold. So I flagged down the bartender and let him know. H ewas polite and quick to respond. He took them to his manager who prepared fresh ones. Unfortunately the new ones that came out, the taco shells were stale and kind of rubbery, not nice and crisp. In all the years of going to this location, this is the first problem I have ever had. So that in and of itself is noteworthy. Despite the problem, it was still tasty and the bartender kept my water glass filled which is a monumental task for any server as the moment it is refilled I often drain the glass immediately.

Samantha & Brooklyn asked to eat here, so we went after the play at the Taft, hoping to grab some food, then hit TJ Maxx and Home Goods (my master plan)! I can't remember the last time I'd been here, but it is like taking a trip back to the time when the only choices for Mexican food in Cincinnati was Don's and the drive-thrus! There is absolutely nothing outstanding about the food, but the large booths are comfortable and the service was good.

Also want to add that I tried to communicate w don Pablo's via their website, where it is promised that the CEO or head honcho or whatever they call it answers every customer issue. Nope. Nothing. Totally unresponsive. And you know what, I work too hard for my money and value my calorie intake too much to waste it where I am not valued as a customer.

Service was great. Our waiter was spot on for the most part. Dinner was average however it's not a place that wow's you. What I was really disappointed in was leaving and walking by a kitchen that is seen easily and looked trashed. That left me wondering how my food was prepared. I blame management for not assuring this image makes a customer feel as though there food is prepared and served in a clean environment. I don't think I'll go back because of this look.

We stumbled into this place and it turned out to be a big mistake-huge! Terrible service. We were seated and sat waiting for a server for about 10 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant. We flagged down another server and our experience would've been even worse had the lady serving the section next to ours not taken our initial order and refilled our drinks. The food was almost as bad as the service. The salsa tasted like ketchup but the chips were good. We got the dip sampler and the quesos were luke warm at best. The guac seemed fresh but was pretty bland. I ordered the taco salad and the shell was stale in some sections and rubbery in others. I ended up spooning the contents onto chips and making nachos. My husband ordered the fajita burrito and it came out not heated thoroughly so he sent it back. When it came back to the table, it was warmed but he also ended up only eating the chicken out of the burrito as he said the rest had no taste. To give the manager credit, he did take it off the check but we only spoke to him when he came out to deliver food to the table next to us and collect our dishes because our server was MIA. This was our first and last time eating at a Don Pablo's. I would hate to see how this place operates when it has more than 5 tables occupied. Would not recommend.

The bartender Jake really knows how to prepare chips. Watching him place the paper into the basket is nothing short of extraordinary. He then grabs the chip tongs with such grace you would think he is a grand master chip grabber. The chips then perfectly fit into the basket. I have never seen anything quite as amazing as Jake the bartender put chips into the baskets.

I was looking for a place to watch the game and came here March 20 at 5pm. Bar service was excellent! Courteous and extremely prompt bartender. I have not been here in a few years but this visit has put it back on my "short list" of restaurants to patronize

This is a solid tex-mex chain restaurant. The servers are always friendly and the drink and food specials are good. Great happy hour location. Cool interior atmosphere because it's in what remains of an old Rookwood pottery factory.

Had a gift card to burn, so my bf and I went there on a Friday evening around 7pm, expecting to wait. The hostess let us know that the wait would be around 35 min so we elected to grab margaritas in the bar area which is adjacent to the hostess station. Although it was loud, we could hear the hostesses pretty clearly as they called out names. Roughly 30 minutes passed and we noticed that couples who had arrived later than us were being seated. Thinking we may have missed our name being called, my bf approached the hostess, who agreed that we did miss it. (How this happened I'm not sure because we were sitting within 12 feet of them the entire time.) Regardless, she said she would seat us when a table became available. Another 30 minutes passed (1 hr after we arrived). By this time, the waiting area was mostly empty and we were feeling pretty sure we would be up next. Then, we watched a couple walk in, approach the hostess (who we were sitting 5 feet from at this point to ensure we didn't miss a second call), and be seated right away. We made eye contact with the hostess (like WTF?)- no apologies or explanations. At that point we walked out. They should consider using those little vibrating alerters.

Meh. The food is okay, service is fine, and overall underwhelming. I went in with low expectations, and I suppose they met the low expectations. A fine place to catch up with friends, but I wouldn't choose it.

Whatever you do, avoid the enchiladas on Thursdays. It's all you can eat and they obviously make everything days in advance. I should have stopped eating after the first bite. Instead, I finished my plate and have been paying for it ever since. The bartenders were friendly, which is the only reason this isn't 1 star.

Don Pablo's is yet another in a long list of national chain restaurants that people in Cincinnati seem to think is special. News flash, it isn't. Here's what gets the joint two stars: Decor. The outside of the building is in an old factory nestled in the Rookwood Commons (which is a nightmare to park at). The interior decor has high vaulted ceilings and enjoyable scenic decorations on the walls. It has a very interesting feel - not Southwestern or Tex Mex feel - but, at least interesting. That is where the interesting ends. As someone who has lived in Dallas and in New Mexico, this food is not Tex Mex and it is not Southwestern. The food is the general slop served in most chain restaurants. The presentation is the same poor presentation served in most chains. And, the service are the same high school and college kids who are just trying to make tips but in 65% of the cases are not terribly good servers. Totally underwhelmed *sigh*

I will admit it's been a while since I've been here but here's the highlights: I loved this place as a kid. It's a fun environment with lots of space and families hanging out. As an adult with a more "defined" palette (without sounding too snobbish), I find that I'm not such a fan. It's fine for what it is: big business, big portions, big menu, big big big... but generally speaking, not my cup of tea.

I think it's ok .. With All the new places to choose from I think they need to step up the game .. The margaritAs in a big glass but just ok .. I think they definitely had enough alcohol in them but are made with bar mix instead of lime juice .. The food wAs ok .. I got fajitas and the onions and peppers were still crunchy but everything tasted ok just missing a fresh element to the meal .. Service was great and nice people who work there .. Wasn't blown away

We have driven many times past this impressive building, but never got around to trying out the food here. Well, last weekend we decided to give it a try. This restaurant has a nice grunge ambiance to it which i love. The huge chimney stands tall, and is very photogenic in autumn evenings. Inside also, they have tried for the same kind of feel, like you are inside a kitchen with exposed air vents and stuff. I would give the ambiance 5 stars. Coming to the important part, food..I am a fan of the flavorful Tex-Mex cuisine. I have had some real mouth-watering dishes when i was in Dallas, TX. Since then i have been hunting for a real Tex-Mex restaurant. These guys advertise that they are Tex-Mex. But the flavors were nowhere to be found. I had a veggie fajitas and my wife tried the grilled shrimp. The main complaint i had with the dishes is that food was very bland. I am sure Tex Mex is not like this. I had taken my wife here after a lot of build-up about the Tex Mex food, and how we were disappointed. We reminisced about the other good Mexican restaurants we have been to. Chips and Salsa - they were standard taste. the bowls were beautiful though.

Meh. The building is cool, nice location, food is mediocre. They do have a small, but nice outdoor patio, so they get a little rating bump for that. I'm always fine with chips and salsa accompanying a good Mexican beer or margarita. They do offer a good margarita if you know how to order it.

I am essentially just reviewing their Taco Tuesday deal, which I think is 7.99 for unlimited tacos. That's a pretty damn good deal in most cases, but this one is just average. Remember how I said unlimited? Well, that's not really true. You can only get the option of soft/hard, chicken/beef. That's 4 options! So yeah, it's limited. However, I love the feeling of this place. The review before says it's an old Leblonde factory, and it looks like one. It's very cozy sitting in there and I have had a good time each time I have gone. It's not a blast, the food isn't great. but it is decently priced and enjoyable.

We stopped in on a weeknight to have dinner. I used to live in the area and would go here a lot, even tho the service wasn't that good then. I was pleasantly surprised that the staff has gotten better. We ordered our food and it was not made exactly as we had requested but there was no arguing over it. The waitress took it back had it made again, and gave us some free items to compensate for the trouble. I would definitely go back here!

I like Don Pablo's they have nice ceiling fans and a nice fountain. I liked the times when I used to meet up with my mom's friends Rick Detmer & Jan & Nick. This was one of the places I really liked when I use to go to Ohio. I miss going to Don Pablo's.

You would think this place has the potential to be good. They do have a ton of chips and salsa but when the food arrives (and it will be awhile) it leaves you wanting for something better. The major issue I have with it is that the service is atrocious. Unrefilled sodas, unrefilled chips, unrefilled salsa, server not really paying attention. These little things add up. Taste is average but overall not so good.

I don't know why everyone is hating on Don Pablo's. I love independent, neighborhood gems as much as the next foodie, and I think this particular Don Pablo's classifies as one. It's in the amazing old LeBlonde factory, which they renovated with great taste. The food is good, too. It's not the most amazing Mexican I've had, but it's far beyond the Mexican-joint-in-a-strip-mall standard around here. And we've always had nice service. I can't imagine why all the one and two star reviews out there!

Yes, it's a chain, with the sterility and hokiness inherent in that status. But for a few visits after having moving to Cincinnati two years ago, we thought Don Pablo served fresher, tastier food that almost any Mexican or Tex-Mex in town. (Having spent plenty of time in Texas, I don't mean to suggest that it was actually very good....) Those days are over. Don Pablo's food, at least at this location, is just as warmed-over and flavorless as that of any other Mexican in town. The salsa, which once tasted fresh and consisted mostly of roasted peppers, now is the same lumpy, bland, tomato sauce you'd get in an Old El Paso jar. When we there last week, as our (non-Latino) waiter serving our fajitas was placing the container of tortillas on the table, he announced, "Here are your wraps." Mediocre experience, all around.

Horrible service first of all--I waited 30 minutes for someone to notice me in the bar area, and then I had to ask for wait service. "I could be your waitress," answered our future waitress. "Yes, please." As for the food, it is the driest Tex-Mex I've ever tasted. My friend's food was the soggiest I've seen. I couldn't finish my enchilada and tamales. Hasta nunca, Don Pablo's.

This particular location of Don Pablos has declined in menu. Food is usually pretty flavorless and the bar just flat up isn't very good. For what you get it's overpriced. Service is usually pretty decent - I haven't experienced slowness. The atmosphere is loud and often families eat here so don't go expecting to be able to converse with anyone. Parking is ample so thats a plus. The menu is just so bland - even by chain standards and I try to avoid eating here if i can. Honestly, I just don't like their food.

Lots of ethnic-food sit-down chains try to convince us in the good old U.S. of A. that what they offer is authentic. Olive Garden tries to do it with Italian. PF Chang's tries to do it with Chinese. Benihana's tries to do it with Japanese. And Don Pablo's tries to do it with Mexican. Some of these places do it well (Benihana's) and others...do not do it well. Take a wild guess which category Don Pablo's falls under. I've been to a few other Don Pablo's and they all seem to have the same type of set-up/look. Kind of the outdoor hacienda-look but placed on the inside. This particular location (on the outer edge of Rookwood Commons) doesn't have that look at all. In fact, it's probably the most unique of all the Don Pablo's, décor wise at least. It occupies a former factory (don't know what kind of factory) and the inside retains a lot of that look. Ceiling is massively high with large, almost banner-sized decorations highlighting local sports as well as fare from the menu. It really is kind of a neat place to be dining in. Too bad the quality of the food doesn't match. You get started off with chips and salsa. The salsa is usually pretty runny with no bite. The chips are always a surprise. Are they going to be cold and stale? Perhaps really warm and soggy? Will they be just right? A fun guessing game. The rest of the menu is pretty uninspiring and just not worth your time. Although I must admit that I do enjoy the dip sampler, featuring Queso, Prairie Fire Bean, Guacamole, and (my favorite) Queso Blanco. But that's about it. Every single thing I've ever gotten here has been pretty bland. Not to say it was awful, but just not that flavorful. Someone needs to let the cooks know that lots and lots of cheese doesn't mean lots and lots of flavor. They seem to love dumping cheese on everything. I will say the Mexican Rice can be touch and go. I've had it when it blew my mind, and I've had it when it just blew. And the service has always been pretty decent when I've been. Even if you're walking in here with low standards this place is kind of a disappointment. There are much better Mexican places you can visit and honestly, if I were you, that's what I'd do. Mahalo, and avoid.

I feel this location of Don Pablo's has gone downhill in recent years. I recall having positive dining experiences in college in the early 2000's but now the service is terrible! The food is still slightly above average chain Mexican food but that doesn't make up for the lack of drink, salsa, and chip refills. Our server didn't stop by our table more than 5 times during our entire visit. I actually would have spent even more money on another round of margaritas, if I actually could have found someone to get them for me before I was nearly finished with my meal.

Chain restaurant for sure, however it is one that I generally enjoy. Margaritas are good and the $5.99 speedy lunch is a really good deal. I would have spent more at Chipotle and this is much more variety. Our server called us "Dear" and "Honey" the entire time though...annoying.

Luckily it was never-ending taco night. When we arrived we were told the kitchen was backed-up because of the large volume of taco orders. Did I mention it was unlimited taco night? By their choice? Was there no planning ahead? So the waitress asks us to take a seat while the kitchen catches up. And the seat...was in the waiting area. Why not seat us at a table - or the bar - and allow us to get a drink? There were a dozen empty tables... And so we waited. And when we were taken to our table we were seated next to...the Von Trapp family. Or a daycare on a field trip. Toddlers, toddlers, toddlers. And noisy screaming ones. We asked to be moved. So Taco orders come in threes. But they're unlimited, so I asked for four. The waitress responded by saying, "They come in threes, so the fourth would be at regular price." Yes, I ordered six. Bizarre. The food wasn't good enough to boost up the second star. I'm thankful the beer was cold, at least.

This location of Don Pablo's is located in the old LeBlonde factory. I don't know what they did, but it ended up being a beautiful space for a restaurant. It's nestled inside the Rookwood shopping center and is one of Cincinnati's favorite south of the border restaurant. The inside of the space has ceilings that go on for miles and it has a really nice rustic feel to it. I've enjoyed every dish I've had here. It's classic Mexican food, but with a modern and unique twist. They bring you chips and salsa before your food comes. I would also recommend their margaritas. They are great!

Great place if you plan on sitting at the bar for a drink and munching on some nachos. The bartenders were friendly and kept the salsa filled. Haven't actually eaten at this location but I'm sure it's exactly like every other Don Pablo's in the world-typical Mexican chain. It was very clean and the staff seemed very friendly. I'm not sure that we would ever eat here because there are alot of other places in the area where we could get REAL mexican food. Great place to stop in for a drink after work though.

Service is always slow, and the food is mediocre. I'd recommend Rio Grande if you're craving Mexican.

The best location for a Don Pablo's I've ever seen. Actually, no one is still very sure what happened, but recently nearly all Don Pablos' in the area shutdown. With only a couple left, it's great to see that they are still open in Rookwood, located in the historic LeBlonde factory. It's funny because my Grandpa used to work there, and going in it now you can see the rich history built into the place. The ceiling is so high that I shudder to think what the heating bill is for that place. It's also nearly completely brick and really has an old school feel. Don Pablo's itself is a really good Mexican restaurant that's grown on me in the past few years. While the salsa can't hold a candle to Cactus Pears', it's still good and (always nice) free. You would be hard pressed to feel like you went wrong with the fajitas or any of the burritos. The price is fine, but not exactly on the cheap side.

I detest Don Pablo's but my husband nags me into going there occasionally. To their credit, they did agree to make me an off-menu item, a cheese quesadilla with shrimp and onion. It was bland and flavorless, I suppose due to the fact that unlike every other Mexican restaurant in the universe, they didn't grill the shrimp. Unlike some other reviewers, our service has always been okay. But there's better Mexican food available all over town at a lower price.

I remember when I first moved to Cincinnati from Phoenix and was craving some great Mexican food. I asked everyone at school and the responses were mixed but for some unknown reason, this seemed to be the name that came up most often. So a group of us headed over there. It's a great building and the atmosphere is great. But to call this anything other than chain restaurant food is stretching the truth a bit. Using Don Pablo's as the example of great Mexican food is like holding up Domino's as a superb pizza joint. Sure you might like it every now and then, but it's certainly not worth going out of your way.

I guess this is a chain, but it was my first time ever seeing one. This particular location looks really cool, I liked the atmosphere a lot. The food was very good, and the prices were reasonable. The chips are great. I'm sure I'll be back in the future.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
