You really can't go wrong with Italian. I would describe this place as just your basic, casual italian joint. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. I thought it was reasonably priced as well. They serve some big fat garlic bread slices with your meal which makes me happy.

Ok, out of towners and people who didn't grow up with Parasson's may not like this place enough to give it four stars as I have. That said, this place has a unique taste. They have a sweet sauce for the pizza and pasta. It is extremely affordable, a family of four can eat here easily for less than 25 dollars. The pizza is made with cheap ingredients, but some how it just all works. They serve unlimited garlic bread that is soaked in butter, freaking awesome! The atmosphere is something out of the Untouchables/Bonnie and Clyde. With the old bank safe, to the pictures of Bogey on the walls, this is some odd tribute to the speakeasy times of the 30's and 40's. I love this place and don't expect too much, and you will be coming back I guarantee.

Its OK! It is overpriced for what you get now. None of their Italians sauces are homemade all has that out of a can taste. The garlic bread is good, and the salads are good. It was much better in the 90s when the prices matched the food.

This is my go to place for Italian, I grew up having my parents take me here. As soon as I got my license my friend and I would go here almost every Sunday after church. But just in case you think I'm being a biased "homer", my wife grew up in Lake county and she also agrees this place is the best. My #1 dish is the chicken parm, I don't know what they do to their pasta, maybe its butter, but it's my favorite. More expensive places like Carraba's or Romano's Macaroni Grill are also good but I think when it comes to bang for your buck I'd rather go here and support a locally based restaurant.

I rated Parasson's for what it is, because, well, it's a pretty darn good version of that. I'm going to let you in on a secret about Italian places in Akron: no one cooking there has EVER been to Italy. More than likely, their grandmother's grandmother was Italian. So, of course, they're "Italian." Pretty much, in Akron, if you look at any place labeled "Italian," you're going to find one of three things: - Bastardized Italian Dinners - Bastardized Italian Sandwiches - Luigi's (which falls into the first two categories with the lovely addition of DIRTY) Parasson's is a local chain, the original is in Barberton, but there are a handful sprinkled around AK-Rowdy. This particular location isn't in a great neighborhood, but the silverware was clean, the waitress was sweet, and the food was decent enough. Everything was classic American bad food. Ham and salami deli slices with a single olive on a bed of romaine/iceberg lettuce was the "antipasto salad." The balsamic vinaigrette was a pleasant surprise and actually quite good. Garlic bread was loaded with enough butter for a pound cake, and came out frequently enough to fill up on it alone. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken added. It was the stereotypical Alfredo with a very heavy sauce and not a speck of parsley to my dismay. But the noodles were cooked properly and the chicken was well-seasoned, so I can't really knock it. Portions were definitely a decent size, enough for two meals if you ate your salad and at least one piece of garlic bread. And like I said, the service was exceptionally good, especially for a party of 10.

Both of our meals were good. Food stayed hot for most of meal. Male server was on the ball and very friendly. Will go back.

I've eaten here before and I love the food. I'm sitting in the pickup waiting area right now waiting for them to cook my food because the person I placed my order with before never placed it!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
