I actually had a great time here -- the ambiance is great, the service is spectacular, but the food was not so great. Yes, this is your typical franchise-looking steakhouse, so I shouldn't be expecting much. However, I've never ever had a worse filet mignon. It was a bit dry, lacked flavor, and the consistency was awful. The Lava Cake and the ceasar salad is amazing though -- skip the filet and make room for those if you have to. It's overpriced, but I was thrilled with them.

Fleming's has consistently provided us with a wonderful experience. The food has been outstanding and the bone-in fillet cannot be beat. The steaks have consistently been cooked and seasoned to perfection and my twelve year old would kill for the seared tuna. It may be a bit pricey - but we go back time and time again.

I have been to Flemings upwards of 10 times, and neither I nor my guests have ever had anything less than perfect. The steaks are immaculate. Cooked perfectly every time. I've yet to visit a steak house that is this 'on the money' every time when it comes to cooking steaks to temperature. The salads and sides are, as one guest of mine put it "heavenly". The price is on par for an upscale steakhouse. I've never had a hostess, waiter, or waitress that was anything less than extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. The management is warm and friendly as well. You won't be disappointed.

My food was cooked perfectly! Went out for my moms birthday and they took a complimentary photo and a free box of truffle chocolates. Great service! Highly recommend

This is a wonderful place however I can not give it 5 stars because of the price. The service was wonderful. The place seemed a little dark. Everything is extra unless you get a special. Save this for a special occasion. Service - 5 Food - 4.5 Value - 3

The atmosphere was great. Excellent customer service. Waitress was prompt and courteous. Drinks were good and the prime rib was perfect. I will be dining again soon.

Service and ambiance excellence; I had the bone in rib-eye, it was edible, but nowhere near a great steak.

I've been to this location several times over several years and it never fails to wow me every time. Food is phenomenal, service is superb, atmosphere is fantastic. It's expensive but consider it an insurance policy for the perfect night out. There are often specials. (sign up for their emails. You can't beat paying Outback prices for this place when specials roll around.) The bar does great happy hour specials as well. If I could give it more stars, I would. I've never been to a restaurant that always gets it right... except this one.

In my opinion, Flemings is the most consistenly excellent restaurant in the Akron area. It is pricey, but the service and food will never let you down. One of the restaurant's hidden secrets is the bar menu. Its a lot cheaper than the dining room menu, and really first class. All the servers are great, but we highly recommend Michael. I normally order the bone-in rib-eye....bone comes home with me for the retriever.

We went to the bar and did the 6 for 6 which goes from 5 pm to 7 pm our group goes there once a month for a meeting. The $6 wine is very good and most of us have the &6 steak burger which is excellent. The service and for is great and a great deal. You need to get there by 5 or 5:15 to get a seat. No reservations for the bar area

First, the food was good. But, that's all, just good. For the prices, it should be better than good. Fillet was properly cooked. I had the petite portion which was supposed to be 4.5oz. Yes, that's small, but it had to be pre-cooked weight and it seemed to me to be even less than that. The pork belly appetizer was good also, but not $17 worth of pork! The molten chocolate cake was also very good, but expensive. The server was outstanding, so friendly and accommodating as well as attentive. Overall, she was the highlight of the meal. If the dinner had been about 1/2 the cost, it might have been a good value. In this case, it was not.

I had set my heart on the strip steak. The $50 strip steak was very good (but not great). The appetizers were good. The sides were great. The service was great.Overall a VERY nice experience. I will go back for a special occasion.

If you want great food here is the place. The steak was done to perfection, the fish special was fall into your mouth superb and the chicken was so delicious my aunt is still raving about it. And the best part was the lava cake which we shared. Yum yum. Our server was great and so many people asking if everything was ok or if we needed anything was nice. Complimentary Valet even. It was dark in there so it was a little difficult to see the menu. Very, very EXPENSIVE. So only good for special occasions unless you want to spend over $200 on a meal.

Steve, Tony and Michael, our servers at the bar and restaurant, we're great. Our meals were exceptional. I left totally contented and will return.

As a general rule, my wife and I try to avoid steakhouses because they always seem overpriced. I can go to a restaurant run by a good chef and get the one steak on the menu and it would be at least just as good as any at a steakhouse and probably even a couple of dollars less expensive. But we were meeting another couple for dinner and the holidays had us feeling like splurging so we met up at the Fleming's in Fairlawn. Right away you could feel the warm embrace of the traditional steakhouse ambiance -- dark wood, dark carpeting and dark lighting along with plenty of wine bottles for decorations. Then came the (almost) perfectly attentive service. The four of us weren't in a hurry to order, preferring to compare notes about our family Christmases. The server not only didn't rush us but she regularly made sure neither our glasses nor bread board approached emptiness. And halfway through the meal the manager also stopped by to check on us. Fleming's is a chain restaurant but it doesn't feel that way at all. As for the menu, the selection and unfortunately the prices are typical of a steakhouse. I don't remember seeing an entree for less than $30. I had the peppercorn-crusted New York Strip (about $45). It was cooked to a perfect medium temperature and the peppercorns gave it a little kick but it only served to enhance the taste of the streak, not overwhelm it. There was a slightly tangy bbq sauce that also added to the overall taste. It came with french green beans which were just fine but luckily we had ordered a side of creamed spinach that came with plenty of shaved Parmesan on top. It was creamy without being too heavy and went perfectly with the steak and the peppercorns. One of the people we were dining with raved about it, saying it was almost like his mother used to make. My wife had one of the specials -- a small strip steak and an equal portion of ahi tuna. I tasted her's and thought the best part was the wasabi mash potatoes that only had a subtle wasabi flavor but was enough to tie the two proteins into a cohesive dish. We had ordered the calamari appetizer but it must never had gotten put into the computer. We figured we weren't going to see it when they took away our friend's empty salad dish and gave us all steak knives. Oh well, the otherwise excellent service had us in a forgiving mood and I was OK, with avoiding paying for a $17 app. If I lived in the outer suburbs and wanted to celebrate a special occasion then this would be on my shortlist.

Let me start by saying I just don't get it. Very expensive for a meal I would have made better at home 130 dollars for a dinner for two, and the steak wasn't even cooked properly. I can't understand how this place stays in business. I think it's a place for people who don't know food.

Wasn't please with the meal I had here. I usually love Flemings. I got a dish off of the small plate big pour menu and the steak was well done! I ordered medium. The BBQ shrimp were average.

Not many great restaurants in the area, but Flemings is one of them...great mgt, superior service, attentive valet parkers, price as expected, incredible steaks, extensive wine menu, and the chocolate lava cake is a must order. Always easy to get a reservation.

If you are looking for fine dining, this is the place. Everything from portions, timing, attention to detail, wine selection - all perfect. I've gone here a few times and just love the food and ambience here. If someone offers to buy you dinner there, accept!

Being a San Francisco local I am accustomed to extraordinary dining experiences, and I cannot say enough about the excellent service and meal that my family and I received here at Fleming's. The manager and owner both approached us on separate occasions to ensure that our meal was up to expectations, which they were! Then, as we were discussing a wine that we enjoyed at one point in time at a Fleming's, the server delighted us by discovering which wine we had drank by bringing out there wine sommelier. The overall evening was exceptional and if you are looking for a fine dining experience in Akron, Ohio I highly recommend this steakhouse.

Fleming's is a pretty good steakhouse. I'm a fan of quality restaurants and this is a one of them. After a long day of meetings at our corporate office, our team decided to have dinner together and someone suggested that we go to Fleming's. Because of the snowy conditions, the roads weren't very pleasurable, but the complimentary valet parking was very welcoming. I felt bad for the guy because of the less-than-desirable cold weather, but he was very nice. We walked in and asked for a table of 6 - the hostess asked us if we had reservations, but the restaurant wasn't very full to begin with so I wondered why she even asked. We were seated prompty and began to look through the wine and food menus. We ordered two wines - a Coppola (a fruitier Californian wine) and another wine that I forgot its name (an earthier French wine). Both were delicious, but I'm more of a fan of the fruiter kinds. We went on to order an order of calamari - fried with a sweet sauce and a hint of heat. YUM! This perfectly complimented the cracker, olive mix, and brie plate and the delicious bread. I ordered a 12oz filet and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked to my requested medium. We ordered a number of sides and my favorites were the mac-n-cheese and Fleming's potatoes. Nothing like carbs paired with steak. We ended the night with the lava cake - delicious and served with ice cream and whipped cream. A good steakhouse for when we come in for business. It's definitely expensive, but probably worth it.

Great food but screwed on happy hour menu. At your table they give you a menus with cocktails and a happy hour special for $6 drinks. Well after ordering 3 Moscow mules at the table we were shocked to see a 38.85 bill for these instead if 18... There is fine print that the happy hour is only for the bar area! Ever here if a bar menu? Rear food but feel screwed at the end.

Try the Blueberry Lemon Drop martini! They just changed the recipe, and it is awesome! Tangy yet sweet, fresh blueberries on the bottom, and a sugar coated rim!

My wife and I make the 30 minute trek here as often as possible. Ask for the panko crusted shrimp with jalapeno jelly as an appetizer, even if it is not listed - one of my favorite samplings in any restaurant. Steaks are above average, and I have found the seafood to be very good as well. I would definitely sign up on their email list before going, you get some really nice discounts and coupons.

We were hesitant to spend our special occasion here especially since my wife prefers the cut that is most criticized in these reviews (filet). However, our experience was fantastic, and I would go again. 4.5 stars Service: The service was excellent and everyone was very attentive and greeted us by name. I mentioned it was a special night on our reservation, so we were given a card signed by our waitress as well as complimentary chocolates and a nice framed photo souvenir. At one point, the manager came and greeted us by name. This was not unique to us as I saw everyone being well attended to regardless of occasion. Sodas were also quickly refilled without asking. I had not problem giving a 20% tip (which is the norm at higher end restaurants). Food: Very good. I had the bone-in ribeye cooked Medium Plus and it was amazing. The filet tasted just right. Both our sides were delicious: mac and cheese and Fleming's potatoes (a layered scalloped potato dish w/ cheese and jalapenos). The half a star I took off was because the crab cakes were a bit salty and not so fresh (although I'm guessing super fresh seafood is hard to come by around here). My mushroom ravioli was great but nothing special or unique. Both our desserts were great. The chocolate lava cake was a much bigger portion that I was expecting at a place like this. This establishment is right up there with my favorite (Morton's). We will definitely come back. It was well worth the money and a fantastic experience.

We had an amazing dinner! Fleming's was outstanding from the valet to the stellar service. We'll be backfor sure. Oh, and the chipolte mac and cheese is killer! The wine selection was daunting, but oh so good!

This is a great restaurant for entertaining business clients. Impressive staff, easy/flexible reservation process. Service is excellent, the food is very good overall, steaks are really top notch. I'm typically a fan of local restaurants so the price/value ratio typically tilts towards local over chain, but Fleming's offers consistency and an atmosphere set up for all occasions. The bar is a great place for Happy Hour & appetizers. It draws a decent crowd on weekday evenings, especially around the Bridgestone Invitational Golf Tournament (August) where one might catch a glimpse of a professional player or two. One aspect I am continually confused about is the parking. The lot is small, but often filled - though the restaurant seems empty on arrival. I think the complimentary valet is a great touch, but since the furthest walk is maybe 200', it just seems a little tony for Akron, Ohio.

Staff was courteous and polite. Really nothing special. For the price I expected a lot more. The steak was not great at all and was only like 8 oz. I thought this was a steak place but they only offered filet mignon at the time. I was disappointed. They did take our picture and that was nice. I have a better steak at longhorn the week before.

Once again outstanding service from a great staff. There is no other restaurant in the area that has the combination of great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service as Flemings.

The service here is unbelievable. We had Michael serving us for the night. He introduced himself with a hand shake, and ever took the time to remember our names and thank us personally at the end of the night. He was very knowledgable about everything we had questions about and was very attentive. My friends and I came for a dessert session where we had the cheesecake and the chocolate lava cake. They make everything in the kitchen and it's obvious. These desserts were just amazing. The desserts are very pricey, but you get a very big portion that isn't just thawed from a box. The cheesecake is light but so flavorful and they give you a good sized chunk. I hope to come back someday for dinner, I can only imagine how great the food is if the dessert was this good! Highly recommended.

If you are looking for an upscale restaurant to take a date, this is it. The atmosphere is dark and sexy and the food fits the mood. The have phenomenal steaks and their fish is exquisite as well. The service was awesome. They knew it was my birthday and offered to take a picture of me and my fiance, gave us some chocolate truffles, and gave us a gift card, all for free. We had quite a few people come up and talk to us; whether they were suggesting wine styles or just checking in. It was nice because they weren't annoying or obtrusive. I highly recommend Fleming's. It's the only REAL upscale place that I have come across in the Akron area.

Great happy hour experience!! I have been told by countless friends that I must check out the happy hour at Fleming's. Now I know why. The atmosphere is great. nice low light, great drinks and fabulous specials. If you stop reading at this point then just make sure you go to fleming's soon! Here are a list of reasons I am going back. Free valet $3 craft beers $6 martinis $6 bacon cheeseburger with 2 enormous onion rings $6 apps (including calamari and an amazing mushroom ravioli) great bar service great crowd at the bar and a partridge in a pear tree....... (that last parts a lie) The service was great, I must have had 4-5 people greet me as I was walking in, and like the way the bartenders all worked together to make sure I was taken care of. I had a water within 10 seconds of sitting down and had a bowl of house made chips in front of me right after that. Thats the long and short of it Yelpers. Maybe those thing don't sound great to you, But Ill be going back real soon.

Fleming's is a great way to forget you are in Akron. Went with my Grandmother and Uncle for an early Mother's Day celebration and was very satisfied. They have free valet which was a nice bonus. They seated us promptly, in a quiet part of the restaurant so my Grandmother could hear better. Our waiter was phenomenal, he knew his wine, recommended great dishes and was very attentive. The whole staff went out of their way to make sure we, and especially my Grandmother were comfortable, which really meant a lot. The food was great too, I started with the mushroom ravioli as an ap. It was very flavorful, and a great vegetarian option as an entree. The New York Strip was great, cooked just as I asked, and was tender and flavorful without needing seasoning. The sides were great too, I would recommend the asparagus. I had the Creme Brûlée for dessert to finish an excellent meal. Overall was very impressed to find this good of a restaurant in Akron, will be back the next time I'm in Akron.

A great dining experience overall. We got to Flemings early to take advantage of the Saturday Happy Hour (it is reason enough to go there). Once we were seated, we had a great server and the food was top notch. I recommend Flemings especially if you're celebrating a special occaision.

Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive staff. They truly attempt to make your experience pleasant and exceptional, I'm assuming in an effort to secure your repeat patronage. A classy upper class dining/bar experience. Only shortcoming in cost. Items listed nearly 20% higher then comparable items at other high class establishments across the board. Perhaps the up charge is worth the atmosphere? Perhaps only rarely, at least for me.

We went here for dinner with co-workers. We had soup to start was real good. The salad was not to impressed with. The entree all three of is ordered different steaks and let me tell you. They were so good. Our server ,hostess who grabbed our coats, valet who warmed up car the total service was awesome. The wine selection is great as well and very aromatic.
