Great restaurant! The food was delicious, fresh and clearly homemade, service was very courteous and prices were excellent! I had a larger party than usual for a special event, and everyone in my party commented on both the quality and the affordability of the food. I'm glad I chose the Rose Villa instead of a chain restaurant and would recommend it to anyone.

About a 4 1/2. Nice variety of fish and lots of other options. Their pike is what I remember from when I was a kid, 40+ years ago. Still excellent (fried), though the breading could use a bit of seasoning, or some lemon wedges on the side would help. Fries still good, side salads are okay. The perch is good, too, and the Alaska cod was well-received. Save room for pie--they have a dozen (or more) varieties, made in house. Today we had Dutch apple cherry walnut--not much to look at, but boy was it tasty!

I really enjoyed my food, service and the view here. It was a nice day out so I say outside. The bartender serviced me and she was extremely nice. She said she had worked there for 18 years. I think that really says something about the place if they've been able to retain staff that long. The mahi was good too.

Excellent food and staff! It's one of those places that is quiet and unassuming but it's always worth stopping in.

So, disclaimer, I've been coming here since I was probably 3 years old. I order one or two things on the menu -- fried perch or a chicken sandwich with pineapple and swiss. And the fries are good. The soup and pies are homemade. The staff is super friendly and attentive.

Many of the items here are home made and it definitely shows. The Italian food is awesome, some of the best Alfredo sauce I have had. I always seem to get a steak here as it is one the only places that can cook it to perfection. They can make it with a demi glaze or blacken it to your liken. A hidden gem in the portage lakes with reasonable prices. Enjoy

I don't really know how to rate this. I go there often but it is a hit or miss restaurant. On a good night this place is 5 star all the way, bad night I give it a 2. The owner is an amazing lady though when she's there it's always good. Another thing the pie is ALWAYS good there!

The villa what can I say? I love this place I only have had lunch here and always at the bar but it has wonderful service and a great menu Nothing fancy just good prepared food The Italian peppers are great so are the saurkraut balls I always get a hot ham and cheese on rye with raw onion It's not on the menu but if they have the ingrediates they'll make it TRY IT!

The service was good but the food was blah. None was homemade or if it was they use the exact same recipe that sams club uses. The soup was obviously canned. I had their version of the "tour of italy" and the alfredo was from a jar, the marinara sauce was like tomato paste with some parsley and the lasanga tasted like heated up stouffers. For those looking for great italian, look elsewhere but if you are in a hurry and just want a sandwich or something it is probably right in line for that.

Great food and amazing prices. My wife and I were staying by the inner state and didn't want a chain restaurant. We found this and will go back if we are in Akron. The sauerkraut balls appetizer was great and we hadn't seen that item before. I had the Italian sampler and it was very good, especially the lasagne. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs, which was also excellent. We had two starters, salads and entrees for 40 dollars. Incredibly affordable. Highly recommend if you want a local hole in the wall place.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
