Food was great, would have been nice to have a wifi password since there isn't a signal in Tucumcari. Waiter/owner very polite and courteous.

We stopped here by chance traveling across NM. I wanted huevos rancheros. Not on the menu, but they said they would do it. I got a beef and bean enchilada with two fried eggs. Delicious!! Very friendly people and good service. Diane was a delightful server.

The food was good. However, it's not "Mexican" The taco was ground beef and lettuce on a crispy shell tortilla. Like I said, good but now Mexican.

GREETING: Friendly and welcoming DRINK ORDER: Taken and served right away Me: Water - I know it's weird to rate water, but we all know water at some places aren't good. The water here is good. Wife: Iced Tea - Really good! FOOD ORDER: Taken and served right away and accommodating to our dietary restrictions. -Me/Wife (shared): Grilled chicken salad (hold the cheese and dressing), chicken fajitas (hold the rice, beans or cheese) and a plain side salad - Super tasty and fresh! The fajitas had a delightfully strong citrus flavor and the salsa we used as our salad dressing was delicious and perfectly spicy. SERVER: Two wonderful and helpful ladies took turns ensuring a pleasant dining experience throughout the meal and kept our drink cups full. CHECK: Brought out, picked up and returned in no time flat. COMMENT: Just an overall enjoyable experience with tasty food and super friendly staff. Would highly recommend to a friend and will definitely return. Thank you!!

A great little local place, our waitress Ona was fantastic and treated us like family. The food was good and had some spice, unlike the usual chain restaurants. Good service and a cool location right on historic Route 66.

I would happily eat here again. The salsa is fantastic. A bit hotter than chain Mexican restaurants, so I thought it was perfect. I had the stuffed sopapilla. My father in law had a burrito. We both thought it was very good. Flavor was great. Portions were very large. Of course, its new mexico, so I had to get the green Chile sauce on my sopapilla....and it was worth it!

I was looking for another Mexican which I could not find. This was on the corner of the main street so dropped in and and ordered a takeaway Chicken Burrito. The waitress wasn't exactly friendly, just matter of fact. Then heard her giving the chef crap in the kitchen, cool. Got the food back to the room and it was ok, when I say ok, it wasn't bad. The ratio of burrito wrap and Chicken was not in the Chickens favour. In saying that, the food was adequate and the price was ok. If there is no where else, this is ok to satisfy a hungry traveller or if you are just tired and want some food.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
