This place has good burgers and I love the zucchini fries. They have low carb burgers that double as options for gluten-free diners. We take visiting family and friends here for a nice dinner with diverse options to suit all tastes.

This place is top notch. A true gem. The service in the restaurant has been friendly, professional, and prompt each time I have been here. The atmosphere is comfortable, family friendly, and simultaneously the closest thing to formal dining to be found in Socorro. The food is expertly crafted, at reasonable prices. The black bean burger is the best veggie burger I have ever eaten. The shrimp burger is unique and memorably creative. The mountain man burger is a savory blend of wild game meats. Delicious. The bar is also excellent. The beer selection is the best in Socorro, the atmosphere is completely casual, and there is a side room with five free-to-play pool tables, shuffleboard, and foosball. There is a stage for live music and room to dance. To top it off, the one bartender I have had here was as an excellent waiter, despite being the only person working the floor and the bar. The final surprise of Bodega Burger is the attached wine and beer shop. While the entrance through the restaurant is slightly awkward, the modest selection is well chosen and diverse. I haven't tried yet, but I have been told they allow you to make a selection, then drink it in the bar or restaurant (plus an uncorking fee for wine). Again, excellent all around.

Very nice little bar with excellent food and cold cold beer! Gonna stop every time I come thru Socorro. Good people, here, locals are friendly, beer is cold and food is hot!

Don't just a book by the cover with this place. You can also easily drive past this place because it's not well marked. Plus it looks like it could be a bad dive bar. We started with some Cheesy steak empanadas( very very good) and some lobster bisque soup that was excellent. I strongly encourage you to build your own burger to your custom taste but make sure you add an egg. The French fries were also fantastic. The BBQ sauce actually has a slight bit of kick at the end that you never see in a normal restaurant. The mountain man beef as the protein is surprisingly flavorful and very good. I really only have 2 complaints. The water has a weird taste. Myself and the people I was with, also found it bad. I do think the lighting is a little weak too but they are trying to have that high class feel. Overall, eat here. It's worth it.

This place is rather expensive but the food was pretty good. Our waiter wasn't the friendliest guy in the world and seemed rather frustrated. In this small little town, good restaurants are hard to come by. You'll get a decent meal at bodegas but be prepared to pay for it.

My son and I had the Mountain Man Burger (elk, venison, bison, and some other critters), which was different and tasty. Some of the toppings were skimpy (like the avocado). Some over-$20 items (like pork chop) for the fancier folk, good beer selection, and attentive service. If the presentation and the burgers were more substantial, I'd give it four stars, but not quite there at this time. Still, one of the better eateries in Foodie Socorro.

The first time I went here, I was in a rush with my boyfriend because he had to go to work within an hour. Hungry as we were- we decided to go here for dinner. We met with a kind and friendly server named Carlos who had to cover the whole front of about 5 tables and did absolutely EVERYTHING for us in 45 mins! He made and served us alcoholic beverages and got us our delicious burgers in no time! At one point I forgot to mention to sub a veggie patty in the Swiss and Mushroom Burger (totally my fault :( ) and he went straight to the kitchen and had the whole burger made again within 10 mins.. did I mention the time was included in the 45 min dining experience? :D In the end, the vegetarian burger was amazing and delicious and Carlos is a great role model for other servers! In the end, my boyfriend and I are regulars here! :)

As a (pseudo) vegetarian, this place was definitely worth the visit! My coworker and I stopped in after a long day of training for a well-deserved drink. I had read that the Bodega Burger & Lounge had awesome margaritas, so it was pretty much understood that I'd be stopping by to sample. When a local confirmed that this place had quality food, it was a no brainer! Anyway, we were very impressed with the service and food here. We sat in the bar area when we first arrived, and there was only one other table. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and helpful, and made us delicious drinks. The margarita was probably one of the best I've ever had...and I've tried quite a few in my day! As soon as I had my first bite of the veggie burger, I knew we made the right choice! Anyway, since we had arrived relatively early, the place began to fill up after an hour or so. Pretty soon, there wasn't a single empty chair in the entire bar area, and the poor waitress had the whole thing to herself! It was remarkable that she was still able to manage a smile and good service to each of the guests there tonight. We even commented on it and she said it was "fun." What a sweet girl! I wish I had that great of an attitude back when I was a server.... Overall, I was super happy with my delicious veggie burger and the overall experience. I'd recommend to anyone who is traveling through!

Great bar! Chill vibe, always sports on TV. Good beers and the bartender will remember you after one visit. Delicious burgers, sandwiches, salads. Have to check out Thirsty Thursdays... $2 beers! Can't go wrong with this place.

Get the green, egg, and ham burger! It is delicious. Their french fries are also very tasty.

Extremely undercooked steak! Two steps below ordered. With Individual bills, we were forced tip because another group sat near us! Over an hour to even get our food too! Yeah, skip it & go to K-Bob's!

Mountain Man burger and fat fries were excellent in this nice, sit down, tablecloth-covered tables restaurant. When I arrived, I was a bit concerned what the cost would be but a quick glance at the menu relieved my concern. $15.36 for a gourmet burger, fries and drink isn't too bad. Great service from Wendy W. I'll happily return if ever visiting Socorro again.

Southwest burger was better than good, but not quite great. Felt like I was in a bowling alley bar with really good food. A bit outdated if your concerned about ambiance. Service was fast and polite.

Even the loungeque 80s decor cant take away the fact that the Mountain Man burger (elk/ venison/ bison/ wild boar patty) was awesome! Fries were not fresh my wife's food was just OK. Service was fine.

The main reason I ate here is because I drive by Socorro all the time and never stop to eat. So now, I'm on the hunt for THE spot to go in Socorro. The service was great, the ambiance was nice (except for the bar television visible from the dining room.) The prices are fair (all burgers are about 10 whackabillies). The burger concepts are clever and come on a shiny brioche bun. I had the surf and turf burger. That places a couple shrimp with garlic butter sauce on top of a blue cheese spread. And here's the best part, they actually remove the tail shell. (Why do people leave the tail shell on shrimp and make me have to pick through my food with my fingers? Honestly, if you know please contact me and tell me, because I'm starting a movement to stop the practice.) I sampled the green chile and it's nice and hot. My wife had the cobb salad. It was made with Romaine so they pass the ice-berg lettuce test. The food has a lot of flavor, but I'm sorry, a medium well burger is unpleasant. I asked for a medium rare burger and was told that all burgers here are cooked medium well. Hey, that's their prerogative, and I think for people who like medium well burgers I highly recommend this place, but real carnivores prefer burgers medium rare. I can't give the fifth star without a little jus dripping down my wrist.

I eat here probably once a week. While they have the occasional bad day, especially when a horde of first responders from the New Mexico Tech program comes in, overall it is my favorite restaurant in Socorro. As others have said, if you are going to eat at one place in town, make it Bodega. This is a family run restaurant that works on their professionalism and it shows. My personal favorites: Soup, almost any day of the week. Hot, fresh, creative. If you like soup, be sure to try it here. I never know what the soup of the day will be, so I call them up (on speed dial) to ask. Some very fine slurping in these bowls. Salads, large, with house made dressings, and fresh. Although my boys love the ceasar, it's a bit strong for me, dressing wise. Ask for rolls, they are fresh made and quite tasty. Prime rib and prime rib sandwich. Always good, especially with a loaded baked potato and those cute little organic carrots with the tops still attached. The creamy horseradish is OK but if you like a bit more kick, they will bring you some hot horseradish to mix into the cream. Desserts range from good to really, really good, particularly seasonal specialties like fresh Peach Melba. They are house made, not frozen Costco desserts. Tips: Tuesday is 30% off wine and Thursday has beer discounts. The new package store is nice with a good selection of microbrews and wine. Maybe the prices are a little higher than you'd expect, but hey, to be able to get this stuff in Socorro is a big plus and I'm happy to buy it here for a little more and not trek up to ABQ.

I was so looking forward to it, but a nasty waiter ruined the experience... I have recently returned to New Mexico and will be traveling for business between ABQ and Las Cruces frequently. I was looking for a good place to stop along this drive, so I turned to Yelp. The reviews were good, so as I was passing through after a very late evening of work, I stopped hoping I could still grab dinner. There was definitely a cool vibe coming from the lounge but I was famished and needed a meal. The waiter greeted me at the door with a cautious look... "did you want dinner?" he asked. "Yes please, for one" I answered. On the way to my seat he warned me that I had about "like 5 minutes" before the kitchen closed, so I'd better order quick. Not wanting to be too easily offended, and knowing what it is like to work in the restaurant industry, even though I really wanted a full meal, I quickly located a burger on the menu that I thought would be quick for the kitchen to prepare. I should note that there were two other tables of guests dining at the time I was seated. With the entire rest of the dining room empty, I was seated literally as close to a table of 3 as possible. We shared the same booth bench with tables separated by a space of about 3 feet. I felt like I had just been sat in the middle of someone else's dinner table. Again, the entire rest of the dining room was empty aside from a single diner across the room. Weird. When the waiter returned with my water, I placed my order. I was seriously taken aback by how rude and short with me he was being. Still giving the benefit of the doubt, I placed my burger order. He took my menu, said "ok" and walked away from my table. I looked at my watch, it was 8:53. Apparently they close at 9. A few minutes later he returned with my soda, set it on the table and walked away. "Thank you" I said as he walked away, he answered "you're welcome" and continued walking. My burger came out within probably 6 minutes and, as I said I was famished and ready to get to work on it. The Bacon BBQ Ranch burger does not have ranch on it, by the way. I get it now... ranch as it cattle ranch... but I was in too much of a rush to choose when I was seated that I didn't really read the menu descriptions. The top bun was dry and apparently the barbecue sauce was hidden on the bottom. Still wanting to love this burger since I had read such good reviews, I tasted a few sweet potato fries- nothing special really, I have had much better sweet potato fries- and waited for my waiter's return. When he arrived I asked for a bit of mayo. I am going to quote here because I cannot believe what came out of this guy's mouth next "you're going to have to give me a few minutes for that, everything is put away in the kitchen". It was literally 9:03. He then proceeded to tell me that "there IS barbecue sauce under the meat" as if to change my mind about wanting mayo? Are you serious guy? Mind you, about 5 minutes later, the guy across the room ordered Crème Brue. Crème Brule!! His waitress did not bat an eye, did not tell him the kitchen was closed, did not make him feel bad for continuing to order, or turn and walk away rudely..... Crème brule: no problem. Mayo: yeah, that's gonna be a few minutes.... After all of this, the burger was decent, but not spectacular. The bacon seemed to be cooked onto the top of the patty, a nice touch, and was topped with a couple of what appeared to be homemade onion rings. The meat was juicy, a little under cooked - probably due to the rush. As it turned out, I didn't really need the mayo, the burger was juicy enough with plenty of sauce hidden under the meat. Unfortunately, I am sure the meal was made less appetizing by the jerk of a waiter who ruined my entire experience. Not positive it was worth the $14. I finished what I could, left about a quarter of it and most of the fries on my plate and asked for the check. I was out of there before the other two tables full of diners had even finished and paid. So much for ME holding things up for you Mr. waiter. I've got news for you Dallas... you're a jerk! Too bad your restaurant missed out on what would have been a regular customer. You can thank Dallas for that. Might want to rethink some of your wait staff... just sayin'

We did drive by this place- it's easy to miss, and you can't tell from the outside what it is. Biker bar? Locals only? Spooky place with new paint? ("Lounge" painted on the side doesn't help either.) Walking inside you find a somewhat upscale dining room attached to a lounge-pool hall. We dropped in late afternoon, between dinner and lunch so it was mostly empty- but this didn't affect service. Service was very good and attentive. Started with "potachos", their take on nachos built around their in-house potato chips. Topped with the usual nacho plate fixings (a little heavy on the cheese), all swimming on top of a pool of chorizo queso. Not bad if you like that sort of thing. Many choices on the menu, and it gets more extensive and refined for dinner. We opted for a couple of "build your own" burgers based on their patty of mixed game meats (elk, boar, bison, etc). Juicy and tasty, but I can't say for sure it was game meats. Lots of good toppings you'd expect and many more beyond the standard chain stuff- chorizo queso, red chile, green chile, green chile mayo, etc etc. You can build a seriously sloppy but tasty burger if none of their standards grab you. Sides included slaw (uninspiring) and potato salad (waitress said it had more nutmeg than usual. Nutmeg in potato salad?). Can't say we noticed the nutmeg, but we did like the bacon. Last person in the party had a southwestern chicken salad with prickly pear vinaigrette. "It's just a salad". Neither bad not outstanding. (Menu also offered vegetarian and fish options.) If you're out in this part of New Mexico and you need a bite, Bodega is a reasonable choice.

The Bodega is Socorros's best dining option! From buggers to steaks I've not been disappointed! Everything is fresh especially the salads...no iceberg lettuce only good greens!

We were a party of three of which all of us had traveled over an hour to meet mid-way in Socorro and after doing our research and reading reviews, were lead to believe that Bodega was the place to eat. We were hopeful as there were many cars in the parking lot. Our waiter was eager to take our order and we asked for some recommendations. We ordered BBQ Ranch Burger (suggested by our waiter), Turf & Surf Burger, and the Swiss/Mushroom Burger. One would be lead to believe that a burger bar would excel at their burgers- not true. A side salad was requested by one of us and showed up with a few sprigs of lettuce in a tiny plate and accompanied with a $5 price tag- the saddest side salad EVER and only took about 25 minutes to arrive. Our waiter lost his eagerness after taking our order. We were never taken care of or acknowledged again till he finally showed up to our table with our food.....which took at least another 45 minutes to arrive...no refills- till we asked- which took another 15-20 minutes to get - of which a carafe of water was brought over, and unhappily poured and slapped down on our table without any acknowledgement or apology for the delay, and all of us even told him Thank You. After the meal finally arrived we needed to request mayo for our burgers as they were dry as a bone, but never saw our waiter again. The BBQ Ranch had no BBQ sauce on it as indicated....dry....which is why mayo was desired....and this was what our waiter recommended?? The Surf & Turf had two of the tiniest, saddest mal-nourished shrimp ever -which was to be the "surf" part of the burger....they were not garlic wine shrimp as the menu indicated- just grilled bland with no taste and a few crappy blue cheese crumbles....needed some mayo to save it also. Needless to say we finished our meal before ever having the waiter check in to see if he could get us the mayo we needed. The ABSOLUTE WORSE service any of us have ever received and we all frequently eat out. Aside from the service being awful- the food was unfortunately not good either.....food items didn't add up to their menu description and not to mention it was expensive for what we received or rather DIDN'T receive. (Two little sad shrimp pushed up the price of a lack luster burger to more than $16) There appeared to be more than a few patrons who wondered where their food, refills, and missing in action waiter was. After enduring all of this, and finishing our meal, we waited another 15-20 minutes....never had the waiter return to bring us our bill and we didn't have the patience to chase him down and wait another 20 minutes for a check. We left money on the table and walked out after leaving a note as to why we didn't wait around and how disappointed we were with the service, food, etc. If there had been anyone around that appeared to be management or just provided some sort of acknowledgment then we would have gladly expressed our concerns. I would NEVER go back to this place- even if they were giving it away and if I had the time I would stand outside with a sign deterring any other patrons from eating here.

The ambiance of the place was great! Service was great and the food didn't take long to arrive. Their burgers are good but not great. I expected more flavor in the burger itself. Their zucchini fries were really good! This place is also reasonably priced.

Big honkin' burgerz As I've mentioned before, there's really only 4 primary food groups: Burgers, Pizza, Subs (#4 is frozen waffles because you need a breakfast selection). The burgers here are huge with different bun choices and toppings. Choice of frys too. Pretty good stuff. Now the bad stuff....I had 45 min to eat. It took 40 min for my order to come out of the kitchen. Thankfully I am prior military and inhaling a meal is one of my many skills. I can still hear the drill sergeant screaming as we filed into the chow hall , "IF YOU CAN TASTE IT, YOU ARE EATING TOO SLOW!!!". Basically it tasted good...I just cant give a disertation on the variable nuances of the complex flavors associated with this gastronomic experience. Bottom Line: Fast burgers in this town come from Sonic down the street.

Not a regular of Socorro we were told that this place has great steaks. I was very pleased with the establishment...a nice setting that felt very laid back. When our food came I was excited to see how big the steaks where! I enjoyed every bite! The steak was cooked exactly how I wanted and the juices and marinated they used was a zing to the taste buds! I also tried the zucchini fries...I highly recommend those with your meal! When we return to Socorro again in the future...this place will definitely be a stop for us!!!

Arrived in Socorro last Tuesday. It is now Sunday morning and last night was my 5th visit to Bodega. Can't say enough about this place. I've worked in restaurants and completed a 3 year apprentice ship in culinary arts so I fairly well versed on grub. This place is the gem of Socorro, period. I've tried 4 different burgers and the chili rubbed apricot glazed double pork chop. Fantastic. I've ordered burgers at medium and medium well on separate occasions and they have nailed the temps perfectly. This place is split, half a sit down restaurant and the other half a bar with TVs/pool tables. I've never been on the restaurant side since u can order anything food wise from either side. Their scratch soups are recommended. All I can say is if you are passing through and don't want the normal/run of the mill crap that %90 percent of other restaurants serve, then check this place out. Is be shocked if you were disappointed.

How can a burger place not have a good burger? It was bland and greasy. The side salad was good.

After a long drive from northern New Mexico, we stopped at Bodega Burger Co. for dinner. The place has a nice ambience. We were pleasantly pleased with our dining experience. My wife had a veggie wrap with sweet potato fries and I had a reuben with skinny fries. Both of our meals were very good. I don't think that I have ever had a reuben with chucks of corned beef and pastrami inside. They definitely did not skimp on the meat. Service was excellent.

If you are looking for a place to eat in Socorro for dinner and only want 1 suggestion, this is the place you should go. The outside is reminiscent of a cocktail lounge, and the sign in the parking lot says "Roadrunner" - are they throwbacks to previous businesses? I don't know, but I like it; campy but not over the top. Inside it's a little confusing. One direction goes to the bar with pool tables and typical bar seating. They also have a full bar including liquor, so according to NM law CCW is a big no-no, in case you're not a local. The decor is dated. Carpet and wallpaper look a bit off, and it has an air of late 80s upscale bourgeoisie dining. Don't let it fool you, their menu is fantastic. Beers are somewhat standard, and the list is small, but the choices we made ended up being fantastic. Outside of standard alcohol fare, they did their homework and got some decent suds. Food was, well, fan-friggin-tastic. We stopped here twice during a weeklong class/conference. Both burgers I had were cooked properly, covered in bacon, and then set nicely on a brioche bun. The sweet potato fries were awesome, as were the zucchini fries. I suggest getting both. Price point is also great - for the food you get, and the service, it can't be beat.

Don't let the outside fool you, food quality and service can compete with the best in the country. New York strip was cooked perfectly, as requested and was flavorful and delicious. Bodega Burger was one of the best burgers we've had in recent memory. We tried the Santa Fe Nut Brown Ale beer, a local brew, and were pleasantly surprised, by the way. Overall, this was a pleasant surprise on our trip from Albuquerque back to El Paso. We're making it a point to stop here on our next trip through.

Drove in to Socorro to primarily get groceries and head back to Datil. Recommendation to eat here sounded promising, but met with disappointment. The soup was pawned off as homemade, but don't think so. Food was very high in sodium. Might give them another try as dining choices in Socorro are limited. Will try Socorro Springs first before I go back here. Hopefully you can't mess up with a micro-brewery. If all else fails, there's always Subway, Wendy's or Taco Bell.

We ordered the chips & salsa, half caesar salad, the Caesar Club and the Southwest Burger, as well as the kids grilled cheese. The club was great!! They used Caesar dressing and although different at first, it was delicious! The Southwest burger was okay. It had a lot of flavor, though it didn't blend well together. Its a perfect size to fill you up, yet not overly stuffed. Our daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese, even came out with no crust (thank you!). Although everyone raves on burgers and steaks- what we loved were the fries!!! We had fat fries, sweet potato waffle and the kids came with skinny ones. All were amazing!!! Definitely grab the "trio" on the appetizers and try them out! The place is nice, "fancy" for it's menu, but that's not a bad thing. White table cloths, cloth napkins, candles on the table, yet it wasn't overly done. Tables, floor and restaurants were kept clean. All staff were polite, attentive and made sure everyone was happy. All in all- great place for some good food and enjoyable atmosphere! Would visit again.

The service is the worst! After sitting there for over 15 minutes with the waitress walking by several times and not even acknowledging us finally the host who had seated us came by and asked if we had been helped? I was ready to leave but my husband said to just order our drinks and see if it got better. The waitress still ignored us, not even making eye contact. The place was not at all crowded but she was more concerned about cleaning dishes for customers still sitting there than waiting on us! The food was just ok. I had a Cobb salad without blue cheese but cheddar cheese. It did have blue cheese dressing. My husband liked his club sandwich. The food is not worth the service! The host continued to wait on us and was good but I never was asked for a refill of my iced tea. This is really only 1/2 star!

We were just passing through town and found this place. Surprisingly out of the ordinary choices on the menu. Everything was really good. Baked potato soup was delicious. Really unexpected atmosphere, appeared more upscale than anticipated but still very nice.

My buddy and I ate lunch at Bodega's Burger today. I ordered coffee which was cold. The gruyere cheese mushroom burger was over cooked (asked for medium rare and was given medium well), little to no cheese and the burger was cube shaped and looked and tasted as if it was frozen. The burger was supposed to be on a brioche bun and was given on a bun that looked and tasted like an English muffin (stale tasting). This restaurant had no windows and felt like a bank vault. I and my friends will not return. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

This is the best restaurant in Socorro. I should know; I spent a week there for a conference and ate at virtually every restaurant (there aren't that many!). It actually has an atmosphere, the bar is hands down the best in town (they make an AWESOME margarita and mojito), and vegetarians needn't run and hide. Bodega wouldn't feel out of place in California, and that is high praise indeed.

Simple menu with some nice surprises, like cactus fruit dressing. Excellent ingredients in everything and a good selection of wine, including New Mexico's best, Lecombes. They try to get the chicken wings from a local organic grower, and when they can they are amazing: huge French hen wings with a habanero lime sauce.

Bodega makes a quality burger. However, for Socorro, it's a little expensive. The interior of the establishment could use a little touch up. The floral print seat backs remind me of a mid-western grandmother's living room. They have recently opened a package section specializing in beer and wine. Again, a little expensive for Socorro, but there is a selection of decent beer that you probably won't find a Smith's.

I have eaten here a couple of time. The food is quite good, but a bit on the skimpy side for the price. The service is friendly although not the quickest. I will surely eat here again, but only when I am not on a time schedule.

Yesterday one of our best friends graduated. Her mom was craving a green chile cheese burger, so our friend suggested Bodega burger. She could not have chosen a better place! You walk in and the servers greet you pleasantly. We were a party of twelve, so that's a good sign. They sat us at a large table in a room specifically meant for large parties. Because everything looked amazing, we ordered a couple appetizers: the fry trio and the queso with blue cheese. The fry trio consists of fat fries, sweet potato waffle fries, and fried zucchini. All were cooked perfectly. The queso was awesome; I never thought that blue cheese would go well in a queso dip, but it so was. The chorizo in it was not at all greasy, which means the kitchen has a good idea of what it's doing. I ordered the southwest burger and found it fantastic. Because a side came with it, I chose the side salad with, at my friend's urging, the prickly pear vinaigrette. It was an excellent balance of sweet and tart. The next time we come to Socorro, this may be one of the places we visit.

This place is absolute trash. They might have some cheap drinks (only for a while on special nights) but that brings in the worst crowd in Socorro. They claim that they have a Tech Night but for me it seems more like gangster night. If you want a good college night head over to the Cap or the Bistro if you want food.

We went here two days in a row when my son graduated from New Mexico Tech. We've always been big fans of Socorro Springs, but this place has a more varied menu and a nice atmosphere. Can't wait to get back!

In town for class and wanted to try the local face. Had the green chili, egg, and hamburger and it was pretty good. The menus had lost of choices including steak and seafood but the prices were a little high. The restaurant was clean, the seer vice was fast and the staff was friendly. A little pricey with exception of the burgers but if you are in town diffidently worth checking out.

Food was fine and tasty. Place is nice and clean. However I was charged almost $7,000 extra. And considering that was done on my travel credit card it screwed me over for the rest of my vacation! I would recommend to avoid this place at any cost. Litteraly.

On a road trip, we stopped at Bodegas because it was Yelps second highest rated restaurant in the area. Don't let the location or appearance of this restaurant stop you from enjoying these tasty burgers!! We were greeted by a very friendly gentlemen who was both the hostess and our waiter. He made our dining experience even more enjoyable with side conversation about local landmarks and town history. I had the Chile Relleno Burger, which is a bun less burger, with the waffle sweet potato fries and my girlfriend had the Swiss & Mushroom Burger with the shoestring fries. My Chile Relleno Burger was unique, juicy and flavorful. The fries were delicious! I ate everything on that plate!! My girlfriend described her burger as moist and well seasoned. She was also happy with her burger. Both burger patties were cooked as we had requested, mine was medium well and my girlfriend requested hers well done. The patties were well portioned. We only rated it a 4star because we were unable to tell wether or not the patties were "homemade" or frozen patties. I'd recommend this restaurant and would stop by again if I was in the area. They have a wide variety of burgers and many fry options. If your're not a fry person you can chose to have cole slaw, potatoe salad or a side salad instead.

Looks can be deceiving! If you have been to Socorro,NM you are aware there isn't much going on. This little gem will catch your eye driving down the main drag. Its not impressive looking from the street but once your in the front door that all changes. The decor is a retro chic dive bar twist! It seems like a fancy semi upscale joint but its just a front casual dress is best. The food is as modern mash up of NM staples and classic Americana with a twist. I immediately flip the menu to the burger section its in the name for pete sake. Wow what a selection! I landed on the Mountain Man which is a mixture of Elk, Antelope, and Bison top with melted cheese jalapenos and house bbq sauce. I ordered it cooked medium which is the only way to wild game. Sadly my burger was cooked well done. Even though it was cooked incorrectly this mountainous beast was delicious. My side was potato salad which was decent. To many pickles for me personally. If I am ever back down in Socorro I'm definitely making another go of this place!

I've had oh so many veggie burgers over the years, and none compared to the black bean burger at Bodega! It was homemade! Let that sink in -- homemade! The patty was huge and crispy and just the right amount of spices, served with roasted red peppers and portobello mushrooms. The brioche bun was fantastic. I had the zucchini fries -- perfect! The service was spot on, and atmosphere was great!

From the outside, it's quite easy to have low expectations here. Don't let the building fool you. I had the swiss and wild mushroom burger, and it was quite good. It came on a ciabatta roll, and was cooked precisely as ordered. For sides, you have several options and I chose fat fries. They're basically seasoned steak fries, and they were really good as well. Our waitress was on top of keeping our drinks filled, but she did not bring me the side of ranch I requested with our order. That's not enough to fake away from the overall appeal of this place. It's an interesting little spot, with an eclectic and fun menu. Definitely a good place to grab a bite if you find yourself in Socorro!

Enjoyed a quick lunch here while visiting family nearby. The appearance doesn't really do the quality of the food much justice and almost transports you back to an older time of what might have been finer dining. The menu is pretty expansive and has lots of options for people of various tastes. There are salads, sandwiches, burgers, larger plates and a good variety of specials - including fish tacos and a turkey sandwich. We opted for the caesar salad and the build your own burger. With so many options to choose from we chose the beef patty on ciabatta with cheddar cheese, grilled onions and grilled jalapeños. There were other bread and cheese options and toppings including green chile! The burger was cooked well and was absolutely delicious. The sweet potato fries were waffle cut which was nice! The salad was pretty good and the croutons seemed homemade but I would have preferred a creamier dressing. Once we placed our order the service was quick and we were enjoying our food in no time! We didn't try any of the drinks but I have heard good things about the margaritas!

I love Bodega! I travel back and forth from San Diego to Socorro and I must say, when I am in San Diego, I really do miss this place! The staff is always so nice and I feel like a regular every time I'm there. The food is delicious, really anything you order is amazing, especially the ahi dishes- seriously, their ahi dishes are just as fresh as the dishes I eat in San Diego while at a restaurant on the beach. Their burgers, sandwiches, salads, steaks are all so amazing. If I could give 10 stars I would! Oh and try a watermelon mojito and a prickly pair margarita, they will rock your socks!

I'm not sure which is better - the beer on tap or the food! Firstly, they're one of the few places you can find North Coast's Old Rasputin on tap. That's saying something about their beer connection. The dining room is elegant enough for date night. I've been here on two occasions, and both times the food was phenomenal. The chefs have a lot of fun with the menu without going crazy. The salsa is fresh and chunky, and makes for a great starter. I highly recommend getting the house chips as a side, especially with the burger, or the mashed potatoes if you're getting a steak.

I've eaten around in Socorro and I think that Bodega Burger is by far one of the best restaurants in the area. Most of the restaurants nearby are very homely and down to earth New Mexican, but this restaurant is different. Although it is not what I consider "genuinely" fancy, the restaurant certainly puts on a classy ambiance. Customers do not dress to what the restaurant tries to achieve. The waiters are very polite and courteous and the restaurant gives an enjoyable dining experience. The food is very delicious and well made. I've been here twice and me and my friends have all enjoyed the food. The Reuben is very good and most of their sandwiches are very large in portion and really fill you up. My favorite part of my meal is definitely the creme brule. It is absolutely delicious and made to perfection. The only problem is it runs out quickly. Other than the fact that this restaurant is pricier than other restaurants in Socorro, I definitely recommend it as a nice dinner choice. The service can be a little slow but the waiters are very friendly.

I was longing for some good green chili so we searched for some good Mexican food, but each place we came across had us looking at each other and walking out the door. I was becoming extremely frustrated at this point in this little town. We gave up the search for green chili and opted for a well rated burger joint instead that we found on Yelp. The building was interesting. It was a large building with different sections inside. There was a typical small town bar/lounge on one side, bathrooms in the hallway, and this place to the left. It was packed when we arrived, but the server (I think seeing how hangry I was) assured us it would only be a 15 minute wait. So we grabbed a brew at the bar in the mean time. They even had a little wine shop attached at the end of the bar with a nice selection of wine and brews. I was so happy to find a place that's taps weren't bogged down with Coors, Bud and Miller! It was such a fascinating atmosphere in the restaurant. It reminded me of being in my grandma's house (without the old lady smell). But the menu was creative and the service was exceptional and professional without being pretentious. They even had a couple playing acoustic folk music. It wasn't an overwhelming volume, but a really nice addition to the evening. Now the food, what a surprise!! I was so delighted I waited out my hangry phase. We started with the mussels which were very clean and had a very tasty broth of tomato, wine and garlic which the bread was soaked in. This got me primed for my meal. If it was as good as this I was going to end up a very blissful customer. My man and his little one opted for the burgers and I opted for the steak special: 12oz sirloin, cooked to order, with herbed mashed potatoes, a chili releno , fresh grilled veggies and smothered in green chili. What - green chili?? Thank you baby Jesus!! My green chili craving will be satisfied after all. When our food arrived it looked great and the taste matched perfectly. My blue cooked steak was just that and who knew green chili over steak would be that good! I couldn't finish my meal and asked for more chili in my to-go box which our server replied, "Sure thing!" Had a bite of my man's mushroom swiss burger and potato salad. Both were very fresh and most certainly didn't come out of a bucket or can! I recommend you give this place a go if you find yourself passing by. Just ignore the interior design work and focus on enjoying your food and fine service. I'd give it a 5 if the decore was a bit more updated and the mallard ducks were dusted off ;)

Bodega Burger Co & Lounge was conveniently located from Days Inn where we stayed for our trip from SF to NM to visit the Trinity Site. We headed straight here after checking in to get our fix of beer, shots, and queso with chips. We even came back for a nightcap round of shots.

A bit pricey, but excellent burgers! Hatch green chiles with egg, bacon, and queso was incredible. As was the mountain man burger (where the patty was a blend of venison, buffalo, boar, antelope, and elk!). Friendly waiter, and fancy ambiance. Really great dining experience all around!

I drive back and forth between Santa Fe and El Paso on a regular basis and to break up the monotony I often stop in the little burg of San Antonio, New Mexico to get a burger. I first heard of San Antonio as a famous burger-town because of The Owl but after a little experimentation, I came to prefer the Buckhorn's burgers to The Owl's although The Owl has better Old West honky-tonk ambiance. I'd often flip a coin to decide which place to go. Recently, however, I got to San Antonio just exactly at eight in the PM on a snowy weekday night and both joints had already closed. Darn! Well, maybe I could find something halfway decent in Socorro I thought, but not with any great expectations. Little did I know that Bodega Burger Co & Lounge lay in my immediate future. For those unfamiliar, Socorro is a nondescript town that I had driven through dozens of times with never an inclination to stop. Now I have reason. Bodega Burger is a bar filled with friendly locals and that serves a gu-rate green chile cheeseburger, the official State Food of New Mexico. From now on, I'm going to have to flip a three sided coin.

I came here twice during my week long class at Tech. Both times were excellent. I had two different burgers, and salads. Each burger was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The fries that came with tasted just as good. Service was great both nights, and the owner was incredibly friendly. He even remembered me the second time I came in. After trying the other restaurants on the street, Bodega Burger is the only place I would make a point to come back to during my next stay in Socorro. There is also an upscale beer/wine store in the restaurant. You must try this place!

The outside does not look like the outside. My daughter who is a picky eater likes the food here. Lobster bisque is her favorite. My husband prefers steaks and he has tried all his favorites here cooked to a specific doneness. The chef has never disappointed him. The appetizers are amazing. The fried zucchini and cheese sticks are the best. I order the burger with green chile. The chile is local and has a great taste. The beer list is ok. The wine list is longer. The best part is the home made fudge sold at the register. We never go home without a box. Even the white chocolate fudge is quite tasty.

Okay this is my third and last review. Bodega is by far the best place to go in Socorro. Food is excellent, service is top notch. I always know my experience will be amazing every time I go there (and I go there quite often). Best salad: Prickly pear salad Best side: Zucchini fries (definitely worth the extra $1) Best burger: Hard to choose, but I like the mountain man and southwest burger a lot
