This was the best Denny's experience I've had since I was a teen. Prompt service and even the food was better than your average Denny's. The place was old but clean. I got a burger that was hot, thick, and juicy; and the avocado slices were generous and fresh. We were pleasantly surprised!

Stopped in for a late breakfast on 8-19. Pancakes were great, bacon was crispy, and coffee was good. The service was very good even though they seemed to be short a waitress or two. I definitely would return.

Terrible!!! Do not stop here if you are trying to get somewhere! One hour after ordering food our ticket was still 3rd in line according to our waitress. Our 4 year old was starving and so were we so we left! My advice, if you are heading north just keep going to Trinidad for better service and better choices!

This restaurant had the WORST service I have ever had at a restaurant. We waited over an hour for our food, which was then incorrect. The waitresses were rude and unhelpful, and every person at our table of four had at least one item made wrong. A small side salad turned into a $9 salad, and a mac and cheese side was also over charged. When I complained to the manager, the response was just that it was a bad night and nothing would be done. I will definitely not be going back to this location, and I will think twice about other locations as well.

We had a nice waitress who was easy to talked to. She took our order and got our food out amazingly fast! The meatballs in my spaghetti were huge! She did forget to give us our check and we had to track her down for it, but it was no big deal. Besides that, great experience!

This was a great location to meet as it's located easy on and off of I25. I was here to make a business transaction and again found this location via Yelp App. It was a Sunday morning about 11:30 when we arrived. The service was friendly I will say that. However, the rest of the place left A LOT to be desired. The bathrooms were really poorly kept. The floors in the dining room were in desperate need to cleaning. Luckily I wasn't there for the food. I am not sure I would have ordered. We had a beverage and waited. Its a good location if you need a meeting place for any reason. Plenty of parking for larger vehicles.

Good food that hit the spot. Too cold inside for 9pm -- temp was about 65 degrees. They were out of chocolate ice cream. Friendly staff.

Probably the cleanest Denny's I've ever been to. Food was standard, greasy Denny's. The coffee was some of the best I had on the entire trip (that's stopping every few hundred miles for another cup from Dallas, TX, to Black Hills, SD). Service was friendly and quick.

My family and I passed through on our way to Colorado, and wished we chose somewhere else to eat. Coffee was horrible. My sister's apple juice had white particles floating in it. We nicely informed the waitress and she brought another one with the same problem. She then brought us extra pancakes, but went to waste bc we were content with what we ordered. The manager wasn't dressed appropriately, and I know I waited tables at a Denny's when I was a teenager. We'll never stop at a Denny's on a road trip again.

We had a large group and the service was great. Very friendly ladies and the manager who checked us out was friendly. It's Denny's so I can't give it a five star...but it was much nicer than most Denny's I've been in. I'd eat here again if I ever decide I wanted hurt burn on my way to Colorado.

Okay, so we all know what to expect when stopping at Denny's, breakfast all the time, Mediocre coffee, average service, somewhat clean facilities, right? What you don't know and I certainly didn't expect was hearing a microwave door slam as the cook heated up my sent back stone cold grits. They were so awful but extremely burn your mouth hot. Really, microwave grits? Lazy cook. This is our second time at this location and so next time we pass through we will not be stopping there again. The waitress was friendly but speechless when she asked if the grits were hot enough and I answered her yes, I heard the microwave door slam! Well it's the truth, I didn't have her take it off the ticket because honestly, that extra .99, isn't squat considering for me and my bf, it usually runs about $25, which they just lost next time we are in the area.

Denny's is "America's Diner" and this location is located in Clayton, NM. A few blocks away from Hwy 85, it serves as a busy pit stop for folks travelling along this road. My Overall Rating - 2 Stars (Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - This Denny's is like most, you'll have a large number of booths and tables throughout. However, be weary of the bathroom. On this visit, the men's room seemed like it had not been cleaned in a while. Given this is a popular stop for road travelers, I would hope they would maintain it a bit better. No Star. Service - The staff was friendly, but woefully understaffed. On a Friday morning the restaurant was probably at 80-90% capacity but there were maybe 3 servers. The end result? It took a while to place and get our orders, simple requests like coffee refills were not so simple. I don't blame the staff because they do the best they can. And except for the challenges around timing they were great. 1/2 Star. Food - It's diner food, so don't expect 5 star quality. The kids liked their chocolate chip pancakes, so no complaints there. Fruit was fresh. But the omelet was very uneven. The eggs had a foam texture (instead a fluffy), and the ingredients of my Veggie Omelet were all over the place. One bit would be nothing but cheese, another nothing but zucchini, etc. The last item of note is that Denny's is not cheap. Yes, you can find good deals on their Value Menu but most breakfast items ranged started at $9 and went up. 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Probably. Even though the food is average at best and not a great value, I wouldn't mind coming back if I wasn't rushed or wanted something beyond your typical McDonald's menu (they're next door). 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Driving to Denver, wanted to stop for a bite at 6 am..... went in, lady asked how many, then tried sitting us at the front door right next to the only other people there. We asked very nicely if we could have the booth 2 away from the others and more inside the dining room. She acted like we asked to have the place remodeled. She asked what we wanted to drink, while disgistingly coughing into her hand without even having the courtesy to turn away, we asked for water and juice for my daughter- as she was walking away we decided to follow her and leave due to the disgusting coughing and her bad attitude- as we were following we heard her say- "fucking people act like they own the place" ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!! If you feel like being verbally abused and probably catching a disease - take the risk and eat here- otherwise- STAY AWAY

By far one of the worse Denny's I've been to, service is the worse I ordered the meat lovers omelet , it was missing some ingredients including the queso , when I ask the server about the queso and the other ingredients , she was so unapologetic and nasty about it even said that I was wrong , when I ask for the menu to show her , never came with the menu or the missing ingredient . So far the worse

Upon arrival I was not greeted. I was looked at but not talked to. The sign in the front stated, "please wait for hostess to be seated." I waited a good 4-5 minutes before I was even talked to. The booth was clean however the seats were uncomfortably hard. The food came out quickly and our waitress was nice. I ordered the invisible woman slam. It came with two blueberry pancakes topped with bananas and strawberries, 2 eggs, turkey bacon, and hash browns. I ordered my eggs over easy. One egg had no runny yoke at all and was cooked well. My other egg was over easy. Weird right? The hash-browns were not cooked very well in addition to the turkey bacon. My pancakes only had blueberries in the center and not throughout. The pancake topping were good. My husband got the cinnamon pancake breakfast. His bacon, eggs, and pancakes were good. His hash browns were pretty crappy also. His pancakes tasted like Cinnabon! Those were the hit of the visit. While checking out I noticed a lady with a name tag "Manager" on it. I asked if they had hostesses or if the waitresses were hostesses. She said sometimes they do but mostly on weekends. If you're looking to stop here, I do not recommend it. I like feeling valued as a customer and I did not get that's here.

My family and I were traveling from Colorado Springs to San Antonio, so Raton is a stopping point for us to eat and stretch our legs. This time, we actually wanted to get out of the car and eat, so we went to Denny's for lunch. Horrible! You are better going next door or across the street. We waited for almost 5 minutes before we were even seated. (Oh, they saw us standing there, but said or did nothing) Next, was the nastiness in the bathroom, one stahl was clogged and had toilet paper with feces on it, gross!! Second, it was so hot in there, we could hardly breath. I didn't even want my children to wash their hands so I gave them some of my Purrell to clean up with. (I secretly wanted to bath them in it after that). Once we finally got to a table and waited for our food to come (30 minutes later!!) they actually intended to charge us for the Prime Rib Cobb Salad after I asked for no Prime Rib and no bacon. C'mon, I am not going to pay 9.29 for a salad when I can get almost the exact same at McDonalds for half the price. I felt bad for the father and his 2 kids that sat in front of us. After waiting for 20 minutes they were told that the kitchen had ran out of food that they ordered! They left, lucky them...we were already committed so we had to stay. Worse experience ever. I left a detailed review on their dennyslistens.com survey, so we will see what happens. Until then, I will post this review on anything I can find. BLUF: just save your time and go somewhere else, leave this Denny's to the locals, they have to be used to it by now. No wonder Raton, NM is just a stopping point.
