I must say....pretty impressive Mexican food. I got the chicken burritos with red sauce... truly amazing... the tortillas are spectacular, the chicken very tasty, the salsa and chips fresh, service was great... best mexican food ive had in quite some time

Prompt service, friendly staff, excellent food, very reasonably priced. The menu is not very descriptive though, so be sure to ask the server if you have any foods you can't or won't eat. Our server was very patient with our questions.

Excellent food; complimentary chips & salsa and bunuelos were excellent. The crema green chile dip was unique and pleasant. Well worth the stop. I had the tampiquena steak and enchiladas plate and for two was under $20.

Very sweet little place with very friendly folks. I had the Burrito with beans and rice. Well prepared and nice presentation. The free sopapillas are a nice sweet touch. You can feel that there is a sense of owner pride in the business by the way you are greeted and taken care of. Nothing fancy but it feels very good to eat there. Good price too.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat. Like other reviewers have stated, the food is good. Wait staff is friendly and the food was out within 15-20 minutes of placing the order.

Great price. Not very friendly staff. Place looked relatively clean. Food was good. I had the carne asada tacos. Portions are huge. Taco shell was a little too greasy. Chips were just ok. Limited drink choices.

I was driving from San Antonio to Phoenix and stopped for the night in Deming, NM. While I stayed at the Best western I asked the front desk person about good mexican restaurants and was told about Si Senor. I went there around 8pm. I was offered chips and Salsa. Chips were really good and salsa had a kick to it. Must the green chile. Being a fan of Huevos, I ordered Huevos Rancheros and was pleasantly surprised. It was one of the best I had. WIll definitely revisit the place when I get a chance. Prices are very reasonable I should say. Over all a great authentic mexican restaurant.

I stopped by Si Senor in Deming, NM yesterday on my way back to Albuquerque from Lordsberg, NM. I was (incorrectly) under the assumption it was affiliated with Si Senor in Las Cruces since they are not that far apart. This place didn't compare and I was slightly disappointed. That said, the salsa was good the chips were fair (not as good as Si Senor in Las Cruces). My enchilada was good but not great and the order was taken and accurately delivered. (I am picky about too much cheese, egg over easy and onions on the side) so I did appreciate that part. I ordered a coke and a half liter (medio litro) bottle of coca cola (hecho en Mexico) was served, so no refills. Would I go back if I was in Deming? Maybe but I would try a couple of other places first.

The food here was really good. We stay in Deming on our way to and from Phoenix and we will definitely make a stop here again. I ordered the gordita plate and it was delicious. Clean restaurant and friendly service.

Stopped for gas while driving from Phoenix to NC & got a recommendation of Si Señor for lunch. Service & food were both excellent. Food arrived very quickly. I ordered a combination plate so I could try a little of everything & my husband had a taco salad. Decor was very nice & everything looked clean & shiny. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great authentic Mexican. Or authentic enough, that I can't tell the difference. Very good. Awesomely large portions. Fast service. Very reasonably prices.

Wonderful food! Great service! We walked out of another restaurant (la fondra?) and came here instead, amazing! The food was terrific and the customer service was fast and kind!

Just ate there for the first time. Great food! Large portions. The prices were reasonable. The waitress we had was not too friendly but guess we all have bad days. Will go back.

Yum! Great place to eat. The serving staff was polite and attentive and the food was really really good. The food was very authentic and cooked perfectly and they even give you a snack afterwards!

We stopped here on our way home from the Carlsbad Caverns. We had actually been looking for another restaurant that had apparently closed across the street. LUCKY US! This is the place for the best Mexican food in the USA as far as my family is now concerned! My son had some delicious guacamole tostadas...my husband had a combo plate that the waitress altered for him (switching an item)...and I had 2 of the very best chile rellenos that I've ever had EVER! (and I make some pretty good ones myself) We were also loving the chips and salsa...and were greatly surprised and amazed by the sopapillas with the agave/honey. If we ever get to that part of New Mexico again -- we must stop here...and I pray that they stay open and possibly spread to other parts of the USA! GOD BLESS YOU, SI SENOR...and everyone will be saying Si-Si-Si, because we would all like more of your delicious food! YES-YES-YES!!!

Star your meal with Chips & the White sauce . Their #2 Combo Green is my favorite! No.....Wait! I think the Red Beef Enchilada with an over easy egg on top may be my favorite or it could be the Tampinqueña steak! Oh man it is all so good! Not only is their food the best Mexican food in town you will also find that they have the best customer service in town. Panchita is one of the most attentive waitress you will ever find!

The good - Chips and salsa were great! The salsa was chunky, spicy, and delicious! We tried the chicken fajitas and chicken flautas. The fajitas were probably the best we have ever had. Good portion size and juicy! Likely so juicy because they appeared to use dark meat chicken, which is our favorite, and delicious. The flautas were plain and not very flavorful. However, the guacamole served with it was perfect; smooth and tasty. I mixed the guac with the rice and it was a good fit. The bad - Service was lacking. The servers seemed to hang out near the kitchen and did not refill our drinks until prompted. There is no alcohol. NO margaritas, NO beer, NO sangria. The place lacks the usual Mexican place ambiance. It looked more like a diner on the inside or a country kitchen style restaurant.

Stopped here on our way to California after checking yelp. Was very good. Left full and satisfied. Would return. This place is also immaculate!

The chips served are absolutely the worst ever, thick tough and very hard to eat with little or no flavor. The sauce is OK but not outstanding. I have dined here several times. I do not understand the good reviews by locals but I think they are used to the uncommonly common level of Mexican food in Deming. Today I had the Combo #1, it was plenty of food but nothing outstanding but just OK. I ate there because my friend wanted to eat there (they did not eat Mexican). Service is iffy depending on the attitude of the waitstaff. Some of them act like they don't really want to be there. If course this is just my opinion so try it and form your own opinion.

Clean restaurant, great service, TERRIFIC food! Oh....and a good price. Si Senor does not serve alcohol. While I admit a cold beer goes good with Mexican food, it's great not to have a bunch of drunks around while you're trying to eat. I LOVE this place!

Awesome food & atmosphere! This is what a true Mexican food restaurant should be; tasty entrees, cheap prices and friendly folks. Interesting people eating there too. Mix of regulars and travelers off I-10 stopping in on the way to wherever. One caveat - it closes at 8:00 !!

Excellent customer service. Panchita is best waitresses in town.

The food was excellent ! 5 for the food, 2 for ambience. I had the pork steak and my husband had the tamarico. (?) steak, both were delicious. No alcoholic beverages - saved some $'s.

Travel the path less beaten and reap your reward. In this case, Si Senor will coddle your culinary senses with sweet, steamy sopapilla kisses (that's how my partner described biting into her first one, which she claimed was near perfection). Sopapillas are served with every meal. Chips and a fairly fiery though unexceptional salsa are already on your table when you arrive, which is a good thing because this place is hopping. The triad of gorditas made to order - one green chile, one beef, and one chicken were like mini sopas instead of the crispier versions served farther west. The bread was fresh, flaky, and delicious. The beans: well-cooked and not a forgotten detail. Nothing was greasy, and the chips were incredible. Yes, I ate three baskets, mama.

Take my advise. Order the tampiqueña steak w/green chile, onions and tomatoes and two red chile enchiladas. It is quite possibly the best plate of food in all of New Mexico.

  • Joe C.

The salsa with green chile is like mom used to make. You only get if you ask for green chile on the side and you get this delicious salsa. Take some home it is that good.

  • Dave L.

Good food at a reasonable price. Family atmosphere and plenty of food on your plate. I usually eat here when I am home visiting my mom. They do have good Sopapilla's though.

  • Rich H.

They serve no alcohol whatsoever here. It's a shame, too, because an ice cold beer or margarita would have been perfect with the great food. I had one of the combos, with a taco, an enchilada, a tamale and refried beans. It was delicious. The chips they brought us after we sat down were so good they were addictive. This is a blue-collar, family-oriented, inexpensive restaurant that I would definitely recommend.

We ate here twice while in Deming. Great food, service and location right on main street. Chips before the meal and Sopapillas after are free.

Clean bathrooms, nice servers and great food!!! We flagged down what appeared to be a blue collar worker and asked him where he goes for lunch and he said "Si Senor"! I had the taco/tamale/ enchilada combo and it was great. My favorite part of the dining experience was the warm Indian bread and honey that is served with the meals.

  • David B.

Best Mexican food in the world! That's right in the world. The white sauce with chips is a must try. Those chips, by the way, are still free with your meal. I usually get the shredded beef tacos, but every dish with a Spanish name on the menu is great. Sopapillas are free and they make a great dessert. Bring your appetite!

Well, I'd hate to be the one to give this place 1 star but we went here based on all the great Yelp reviews. We were on a cross country trip and ready to eat dinner at 7 p.m. After reading all of the reviews we settled on Si Senor. Our taste buds may be biased because we live in Southern California and are spoiled with really good Mexican food. We ordered 4 meals and all of us left more than half of the meal on our plates. My son ordered a beef burrito and said the beef was inedible, I ordered the carnitas which was SO dry and looked like chunks of charred breakfast potatoes ( I was expected shredded carnitas, but maybe that's a SoCal thing???), the flour tortillas were pretty greasy. We also ordered the "white sauce" everyone raved about...I thought it tasted like spiced up thick ranch dressing. If I had to choose, the best part was the sopapillas with the honey, if you rolled them in powdered sugar they could have been considered a "western" beignet. We were bummed that yelp didn't prove true for us this time and left hungry.

Good authentic food at a reasonable price. I can not remember the name, but they bring you a complimetary light pastry with a bottle of honey; nice touch.

My favorite place to eat in Deming! Ask for the white sauce when you get your chips. My favorite is the shredded beef tacos, but the #8 (green, of course) is great, too. They serve sopapillas and honey after the meal, which I might like just as much as the tacos.

Good Mexican food - I love the Huevos Rancheros with green sauce or the Chili Rellenos. In fact the Chili Rellenos are made with Hatch chilies!! My kids adore the Sopapillos with honey. It is a quick trip on and off of I-10.

Whenever we need to stop for food while near Deming, we go to Si Senor. We will even bypass all restaurants in Silver City just to eat here. There is nothing fancy about this place. Bottom line--they have good New Mexican food and it is always dependable--cheap too. The complimentary chips and salsa is a treat. It not only comes with the fresh fried tortilla chips, but two kinds of salsa. One is a tomato-cilantro style salsa and the other is a green chili cream dip (love it). They have traditioal New Mexico entre items such as chili rellenos, enchiladas, tacos, tamales, etc. The ground beef taco meat is mixed with potatos, which I'm not much of a fan of, but still good. They use a thick soft corn tortilla that is "fried" on the grill so it is sort of chewy--not a crispy taco that you might be familar with. One great thing abuot this place is that they give you sopapillas with combo meals. These fried bread and honey treats are ususally a fair you see in northern New Mexico. This is one of the few places in southern New Mexico where the come gratis with the meal. No beer or wine, but that is typical of small town dining. Give it a try next time you pass through town.

Awesome food and serving staff. My husband & I both chose combination plate #1. My husband barely finished his and I had plenty leftover. Everything was great but our favs were the rellenos and sopaipillas. Both chili's are fabulous.

...try the white salsa Not a bad place but Irmas is right around the corner The chips and salsa were already sitting on the table when we walked all tables had chips and salsa so there's no way to tell how long it has been sitting there

Very very good food, only thing I thought they can do better is hot fresh chips, absolutely great value but then I'm from Central coast of ca.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
