We have been to the spot several times mostly because I like to support local business and their breakfast burritos are THE best in Abq. Having said that, I have yet to have great service. Sometime mediocre, sometimes below par. Always pleasant but if there is more than one table the woman seems overwhelmed and scatter brained, and she definitely lacks some social cues. The food has always been good, besides breakfast I have had the burger which I really enjoyed. They need a decent manager who can hire professional/experienced wait staff and an interior decorator to really make this place work (there is a plastic beer sign advertising 2 dollar bottles- lacking class) maybe bring in a vintage feel appropriate for it's location. I am really rooting for THE SPOT, but need the owner to do their share.

We hadn't originally planned to come here, we were actually going to Hannah and Nate's but there was a 20 minute wait and I wasn't having that on a Sunday morning. Their food is great, but not worth that wait. But I digress. The Spot was close by, and it had some decent reviews, so we opted to try it. Glad we did. There was no wait, and in fact, the place was virtually empty. The decor is a little sparse. I gather this used to be a wine bar or some such; the end effect is a big open space with high ceilings. It's kind of like eating in an empty warehouse space. The menu was simple. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. Not too bad, gravy was tasty and not overly thick. The huevos rancheros were also very tasty. Went Xmas, and I liked the green more than the red. Price was reasonable. All in all, it lacks character, but the food's OK. I'd like to try it for lunch and/or dinner.

I had heard both good and bad about this place, so I decided to give it a shot. I had read a couple questionable reviews on other sites questioning the service. I could see the potential for bad service - everybody kind of hangs around this computer in the corner, and then hike all the way across the restaurant to tell you to seat yourself. I felt like it was an awkward start, but things improved quickly. I had the biscuits and gravy. The most misleading plate I have ever seen (in a great way). It was a heaping skillet piled high with hashbrowns, sausage, eggs, and of course - biscuits and gravy. So good - I have been craving a second visit all weekend. The dinner menu looks to be this hodge podge of different menus throughout the week. I am sure Gordon Ramsay would disapprove, but I think it works - Corrales is too small, and the variety helps in the long run, I bet. The only complaint was the noise. They had two TVs in the cornr, and you could actually hear the college football. I felt the TVs were out of place for the concept. Additionally, the sound conflicted with the too loud background music, which was a strange blend of yanni and techno. Overall, I say a 3.5 to 4. The potential for greatness is there.

Good breakfasts, but the kitchen was abit slow. Yes, our group of 15 was larger, but knowing we were coming, it could have been planned for. The waiter was attentive and kept the coffee cups and water glasses filled.

Aaron, do yourself a favor and get a food truck. Do what you do best SANDWICHES. That kitchen is a joke, I remember when it was oasis, good for turning out espresso and maybe sandwiches. You don't need such a huge space with NO kitchen. You are serving frozen and canned food (canned green beans are full of salt and water) and frozen tater tots in your breakfast burritos is just WRONG. Eliminate having your family serve, they are not professional, they don't know how to run the front of house. you will save yourself lots of stress from running from restaurant to restaurant doing the same thing that isn't working, like serving on linens, really reserved for fine dining. You will never see frozen/canned food being served on white tablecloths.

We have been several time for breakfast and thermals have all been very consistent. The skillet steak and eggs with gravy is big enough to split, so bring your appetite. The huevos with both red and green were my pick of the day this morning. Over easy eggs do not sit well in the warming lights and these were cooked just to my liking. Do not be in a hurry, enjoy the scenery of local artists on the walls and try everything.

When we first walked in the lady says first time here? You must have a groupon. I felt like that greeting was pretty rude. When we asked for more water she said didn't I already bring you some? Uhhh ya you did but all three of us drank it all already. Food wasn't impressive. I'm pretty sure they just used some Ore Ida frozen bag fries I could have made at home.

Since I had bought a groupon for this place, I was gonna have to try it sooner or later, but after dining there I was very glad that I did. We had the $40 Groupon so we ended up getting a ton of food (we still have let overs from Saturday). We tried the chicken (bone out) and waffles, the huevos rancheros, the breakfast sandwich, the breakfast plate, the chicken enchilada soup, and the lemonade! I think my favorite was the breakfast sandwich and the soup! The soup was very very flavorful and the the bread on the sandwich (bacon, egg, and cheese) was very very good. Our waiter worked very hard and we were pretty satisfied with him. Also the decor of the restaurant was really nice! I loved the bar area with the table with the built in fountain! The area was very comfortable and incredibly clean! I would dine here again anytime! I saw a sign for their lunch menu and I would love to try their lunch sandwich special!

Not the fare I would expect considering the price of the entrees. We had dinner on Saturday. I had the bbq pulled pork with beans and 'frings'-french fries and onion rings. The meat was swimming in an overly spicy sauce which had an underlying flavor that reminded me of Tupperware, the beans might have been canned and the frings tasted like they were frozen. It didn't help that they still don't have a liquor license. A nice beer could have diluted the overly spicy sauce on the pork. Our waiter was fine and fairly attentive but the owner was cold and princess-like. He was not at all apologetic when he came to our table to inform us that he ran out of rib-eyes and would be serving a strip instead. But I'll let the others in our party talk to that. I doubt if we'll be going back. Sorry. It's a neat concept of having a limited menu but that will only work if the food is exceptional.

Service was horrible. Waiter seemed bothered to help us, especially when he was on his phone. Huevos was ok. Biscuits and sausageLESS gravy tasted like watered down flour. The plates look big but they are really just filled with hash browns. The chicken fried steak was decent but not enough after everything else. A Groupon brought us in but we won't be back.

We came in on a Saturday morning and were pleasantly surprised. I had Huevos Rancheros and my husband had a breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and the portion sizes were huge yet the prices were more than reasonable. The restaurant itself is very nice and the wait staff friendly. We are looking forward to trying The Spot out for dinner very soon.
