The Lunch Box

Reviews:
This is my favorite lunch spot in Clovis, I've tried most of their sandwiches and soups and they do not disappointe. The prices are very reasonable so you won't go broke if you treat your friends out. Always packed so come early.
The ambiance is the Lunch Box's defining quality. Tucked away on the second floor of the Crafter's Mall, the Lunch Box is a perfect refuge for, well, lunch. The restaurant is spacious and covered in quaint decorations which create the feel of a cute country hideaway. Also, the dining area is lit with several strings of lights to add to the charming appearance. The service is also top-notch. The few times I've visited, the waitress promptly took my order and with a friendly smile at that. The food, mainly sandwiches, are rather filling; another added bonus. The menu also has a good assortment, to include some creative 'wiches such as a turkey cranberry wrap. While slightly bland, the Lunchbox delivers a pretty tasty meal overall and an excellent mid-day break from another long day at work.
One of the best lunch spots in Clovis. Everything is always good, and always consistent. NM Sandwich and Cheeseburger soup are a definite must try!

THE PLACE to go for breakfast! There are few places for breakfast in the area, but this is always one of our top choices. We recommend their weekend menudo, it has a bit of a spicy taste to it, but it's delicious. Service is sometimes slow, but that's because they're always packed. That just talks about how good this place is.
Great food. Great salsa. Great waitress. If your in Clovis and need a great breakfast this is the place to eat.
Breakfast is hard to find in Clovis. We have tried a few of the other typical breakfast places in town and we were sorely disappointed. Don Maria's is a SOLID breakfast place. They have a bunch of options and the food is always good. The service is also very good. I have been here with large groups and they do VERY well keeping track and making things right. Overall, I think this will be our go-to for breakfast from now on.

Just went back out of running out of options here in Clovis and they delivered big time! We went through the drive through this time and the service was great and much friendlier! I git the turkado with their tomato soup and the husband got the Rio. My husband fell in love with his sandwich and mine was divine. Will certainly go back very soon!
Amazing. If you want anything fresh and healthy in this town go here. Bacon Ranch Turkado. Pecan pie, and breve latte were so good.
The rueben is wonderful. The Ultimate Rio is spicy, messy, and filling. The breakfast burrito (bacon) is just as great! We ate here twice while visiting Clovis last week. There is a bit of a wait, but it is worth the quality in the end!

Chicken quesadilla was out of this world. Their homemade hot sauce was an added bonus to an already great meal.
These Yelp reviews are surprisingly high. The service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was clean. All of the ground beef is an unnatural shade of red. Picture ground spam or canned cat food. It didn't taste bad, but didn't have great flavor either and there is just something psychologically off-putting about unnatural colors of food. This place has the thick cut tortilla chips and the soupy/stewed tomato type of salsa if those things are important to you. All of the places in Clovis have high Yelp reviews, so it's hard to pick where to try. I give this 3 stars based on the friendly waitress and clean establishment. I don't know what's up with that ground beef though!
Ayayaya! The salsa here is hot, both the choriqueso and the pico. My dish certainly did not lack flavor. I ordered the mini tacos with steak. They made me a fan. My wife ordered steak quesadillas and had a similar reaction. In a town where most food is dry, we were pleasantly surprised by Jalisco's. The meat was juicy and guacamole freshly made. What more could one want? The ambiance is inviting also, generously lit, and I'm digging the seaside mural painted across their southern wall. To top it off, the price does not pain the wallet. In the words of Arnold, "I'll be back".

This had been my guilty pleasure of choice for over 2 years now! Taco Box is a great alternative to the normal fast food. Think of it as Taco Bell, but with actual taste. My current favorite on the menu is the BIg Baja Steak burrito. The staff is always friendly and always willing to assist. Interior is kept very tidy with a great decor highlighting the local community. A true bright spot in this town!
This is my all time favorite drink stop. I love my refillable mug. It's an everyday stop before work. Service is great and so is taco Tom!!!!
Seeing that Taco Box was one of the "official stops of the green chili cheeseburger trail" I had to stop right? Unfortunately I am unable to eat a whole hearty burger but decided I could cut it in half and see if I can resist the other (sigh, where is a Yelp friend when you need them :) Besides the green chili cheeseburger, Taco Box is not short on unique menu options to include a peanut butter burger (yes that is peanut butter on a beef patty) and pig-in-a-poncho (hot dog chimichanga). I ordered the green chili cheeseburger and a side of Spanish fries with a side of house made salsa. The green chili had the perfect kick to it and the beef was good and the burger was not greasy. Not a pre-made patty but not exactly Angus beef either. The "Spanish" fries were standard tater tots, I envisioned something a bit different like topped with green chili and/or queso but was a nice side for the burger. This might not be the BEST burger evah, nor a place to go out of your way to hit up, but if you find yourself in Clovis, this seems to be a local tradition and has been in business since 1969.

Friendly service - fresh, consistent food! I have enjoyed this place for many years. If you want New Mexico spicy green chili, order the Chili Verde con Carne!
This was the first restaurant we went to when we PCS'd here to Cannon. We went there with our two toddlers and very much enjoyed it. The food was good and we were served quickly. Our kids weren't being very good that evening but the waiter was AMAZING. He was very friendly and on top of that he gave both of my toddlers desert on the house.
Stopped here on a long cross-country road trip. Very tasty salsa (and we are from Texas and very picky). Cheese enchiladas and shrimp enchiladas were delicious. Corn tortillas on the side were thick and tasty. Service was kind and attentive. Helped us with fast checkout since we were anxious to get back on the road.

The service is friendly, and food isn't presented too messy and distorted like other fast food places. It conveniently has a drive thru, and outdoor seating. There is no inside seating. Lunch time gets pretty busy here so I would suggest coming during off hours if you are in a hurry. I love then curly fries and chili dogs here!

This place is great! Super clean, efficient staff, good food and famously fabulous authentic 50's Americano feel. Take your family on a field trip here! If you are headed west on a road trip.. Hit this gem..great bucket list place!!!!!
This place was a total disappointment. Very slow service....The waitress tried to be smart and instead of writing our order down she tried to memorize it. That didnt work since she completely forgot my steak fingers. My wife specifically said she didn't want a double patty on her burger but it came to her as a double anyway. The pizza which claims to be 9 inches is barely 6 inches and was the worst pizza ever. We didnt even know we could get refills until I heard the waitress offer another table. We were never offered a refill the entire hour. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of the shake...it was pretty great. If you're going for the food don't waste your time.
I pretty much go here 2-3 times a week. I don't mind the wait for pretty good food and I've never had any issue with the service. Always polite, always helpful.

Want spicy?!?! If so, eat here. Gave a 4 due to the fact it's not the pretty place in the world. Very good food, price is on the higher of the expected, not terrible though. Give it a try!
I rated this place a 4 because of the atmosphere. It's not the prettiest place to eat but the food is very delicious. The soups are amazing! I had the House Special soup with spice on the side. I would mostly likely get my order to go next time, but my husband is a regular Bc it's very close to the base. The Thai tea was also very good!
I really wish I knew that pork was the meat of choice for the house noodle soup special. I've always had beef and beef meatball as protein of choice from other restaurants. AND at Saeng's for the last 3 years, up until the other day. Grant it, the last time I had been here up until yesterday, was in November of 2011. Good broth, that's why I come back. And for those saying it's dirty, poor decor, etc... Clovis is on the East of NM, 10 minutes from the Texas border, and a very small town. Why change what still sells? Obviously repeat customers come for taste. And in regards to spice, I say no spice on the order and request for spices on the side. It's just safer that way.

Roma’s Italian Restaurant

With no other italian food option in Clovis (that I'm aware of) I tried this place. My pasta was a little overdone, and had too much garlic. Service was very slow. Asked for bread that was supposed to come with our meal at least 3 times and finally got it as we were finishing our food. Decided to give it another shot the next time I wanted pasta... But that time got food to go. Pasta was still a little overcooked for my liking but it was okay. Large portions, so you'll probably have some left to reheat.
Oh Mario Mario Mario...you have done it again. I am so happy to have had you in Dallas all these years and now you have gone off and made a wonderful spot for the people of NM. They should cherish you. I love the gluten free menu you have added. I asked for it here for years...and you did it for them....do they know how lucky they are to have you? Real italian.....none of that Olive Garden insanity. Love the Jordan...best wine to dine in style. The meat, chicken, seafood, and veggie dishes are all outstanding...but your ability to rock out a pizza...SUPERB! I missed the cappucinos...but so happy to have them at your new establishment. Cannot wait to add in that extra kick if NM ever allows for it. I think I still have my HOW TO MAKE TIRAMISU from scratch recipe. So fantastic. I know you were the driving force behind the places here bc they are lacking and all barely hanging on. Mario knows how to cater a party, host a business party, a holiday event for the office staff, a romantic night for 2...whatever you need. He always blew us out of the water here in Dallas. All the professional sport teams went to him for fine dining here and we thought we could keep up after you left...but I guess we will all need to charter private planes to pay you more visits in Clovis.
This is the only Italian restaurant in Clovis. But it is a good one. Everything I have had was great !
