Great place for coffee! The service is great! As I am sitting here enjoying my coffee and free wifi I see the two behind the counter making drinks and no one is around...but then the regulars show up and pick them up. That's awesome! The coffee is good and they have a lunch menu apparently. Definitely coming back here when I travel to Artesia for work!
Where to begin with this place... Decor: so we all know that this is the Bible Belt (well, sort of) but this place wants to shout it from the rooftops! Crosses, verses and bibles everywhere. Go get coffee and be saved, should you desire. I'm already saved and confident in my religion...I also believe there's a time & place to push this type of thing. So there's this area where you can buy choc covered espresso beans and tea by the pound. It never changes and I wonder how old that stuff is? We like the homey feel of the leather seating area, but you can't get over there during the week days because the two tables nearby are used for some sort of little laptops open meeting and they move the tables blocking entry to that seating. We've tried to sit outside several times but it's usually very dirty from weather and no upkeep and the tables are wobbly. The trash outside is always full with bees buzzing. It's a shame really, since the music outside is nice and the area could be so much better with a little maintenance, daily cleaning and umbrellas. The owner always seems overwhelmed and scattered. He's eye candy to pretty much every woman in town...too bad he doesn't recognize this and act a bit sweeter. They are the only coffee shop in town and need more staff. Usually out of supplies at the coffee condiment area and service is slow. Good food though, if you have time to wait.
I'm no coffee drinker, so I was here just for lunch. The sandwiches and soup were excellent. Nice portions on fresh bread cheerfully served by beauty queens. I had a 'make your own' ham, turkey, cheese on ciabatta with honey mustard. Best sandwich I've had this trip. Just outstanding. And a nice place. Comfortable. Reasonably priced. Definitely a bright spot in Artesia. Far better than you'll receive at any chain fast food dive.

Awesome!!! Try the Mexican French Toast and the Migas....mmmmmm good! Just a short walk from The Best Western Budget Motel.
Disappointed after so many great reviews. For a "breakfast and brunch" place that closes at 2 PM, it seems strange that they stop serving breakfast at 11... disappointing. I wanted to try a brisket omelette, but my son and I had burgers instead. The service was great: not overwhelming but never waited too long either. The food wasn't quite what we hoped for, though. Fries were not seasoned or salted as far as we could tell, and some were not fully cooked. Burgers were tasty but not especially memorable. The radio was tuned to a station they couldn't fully reach, so half the time or was playing static: not awesome ambience. The Texas Chili Cheeseburger was okay, but the "Chaos Thang" my son had was better. (Yes, I steal from my son's plate, but I do it for science!)
After a 13-hr night shift this comfort food not only hit the spot but also put a smile on my face. Service was prompt, fast, and attentive. I had the Macha (no. 1 on the omelette menu) with a side of hash browns. The Macha was as explosion of NM-Mex flavors topped with brisket. The omelette was stuffed with veggies and gooey cheese. The side of salsa tasted fresh, but the side of frijoles (beans) was on the bland side. I ate everything on my plate. If it was socially acceptable I would have licked my plate. The hash browns were made perfect. It was a good balance of crispy and well cooked potatoes. If you get this as a side in comes in a small plate - light weight eaters, you have been warned. This place is a keeper.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The food here is awesome, especially the pizza! The service is always fast and they are always nearby if you need anything. I have eaten here a half a dozen times and I haven't been unimpressed with an entree yet....
Can't imagine to find a decent Italian place in this city. This place was really busy, even on weeknights, so service and seating can take a while. Tried the chicken lasagna - the addition of green chile definitely gave the extra oomph. Pay at the cashier by mentioning your table number.
This place has been given 3 chances to impress, or not. Poor customer service; not so much as a "Hello" upon entrance. Three servers up front and one says from across the restaurant "how many? Just take a seat anywhere." Menus were dropped without a word. Bread and sauce dropped off without a word. Drink orders taken approx 10 minutes later. When food order was taken, my partner ordered spaghetti w/meat sauce and I ordered a chopped salad. (Wait, she didn't ask about dressing did she?) Order came (20+ minute wait) again without a word...spaghetti and meatballs and a chopped salad with Italian dressing. It was a train wreck of a meal with no concern whatsoever from the wait staff. We were not the only ones trying to get the attention of the staff either. The guy next to us had to get his silverware from a close empty table. A lady across the room called out "ma'am ma'am" several times before giving up. The ambiance was country music, uncleared tables and a few rogue flies. Terrible experience. No more chances. Checking out at the front desk wasn't even friendly or cordial. Again, no "thank you for coming, or how was everything." Why is it SO hard to provide good customer service?!

I'm not a fan of Mexican food. My friends love this place and say it's great. I have eaten their Green Chile Cheeseburgers and they are excellent. I now stop by this place to grub on some burgers. Overall I would recommend this place.
The salsa was good, not spicy enough for me but had a great flavor. Chips light n crispy. I really liked the value of the meals. Some menu items had the half order option which is nice for lighter eaters like myself. I had the stuffed sopaipilla, something different. Good, the green chili sauce was very rich and good. Complimentary sopas, choice of honey or CARAMEL!! WHAT!! They have a complicated schedule. Some days open for breakfast and lunch only, closed Saturday, some days they are closed after lunch but open for dinner. As an outta towner, I would call and verify hours. The staff was so nice and helpful. I'll be back!!
I gave Ninas 4 stars because the service was excellent and the food was affordable and tasty. I appreciated the daily deals and the family feel of the restaurant.

Just ate take out from this place. I ordered the General Tso chicken with fried rice and egg rolls. The chicken and egg rolls were really good! The fried rice still needed some additional frying time...the flavor could have been a bit better with a little more frying time. Overall, I would definitely eat here again!
Have tried this place 3 times! The staff is very sweet and wants to please. It's so unfortunate that the restaurant is dirty (I was scared to know what the smears on the wall next to our table were) and the food is poor quality. All 3 visits have yielded everspringing diarrhea. They do have a Buffett area where you can choose your own cold ingredients and have them fried up Mongolian style. It's a long long wait when it goes into the kitchen, but the wait might balance out the after affect, considering it's freshly cooked up.
I was planning to give a four -- it's a reasonably-nice Chinese buffet all things considered -- until I noticed my waiter tacked-on a charge for a drink when I did not order one. And it was OBVIOUS that I had water. This is the second time that I've gone to a buffet like this, where there was a dishonest attempt to charge me more. When I asked the cashier about the charge, she apologized, but the vibes I got told me that this was intentional. I just can't recommend a place that does this kind of thing. Honesty. Integrity. It matters.

La Fonda Restaurant

Best aspect: open on Sunday, which is why we were there. Food is quite plentiful but bland. There's not much to choose from in the area, so La Fonda is an acceptable option, but don't expect too much flavor.
In our road trip from Texas to California, we traveled through a lot of little towns where your best food option is usually Dairy Queen. We were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant in Artesia that not only was good for a little town, but downright craveable by any circumstance. The trick here is to not get too creative, and just order what sounds good. I don't remember the name of the dish I ordered, but it tasted like two large enchiladas covered in 7-layer bean dip made fresh. If you find yourself in Artesia, head to La Fonda and enjoy this laid back little restaurant.
It's La Fonda! Service is wonderful! Food is pretty good. They have always accommodated my special request and have never had any issues with their service. Best part...they have Sweet Tea!

Pizza Hut. Tastes like all the other pizza huts. I do have to say the staff is very unprofessional. The waitress kept scratching as she took our order. It was gross. But the pizza is good. As good as Pizza Hut gets I guess.
Plain and simple, this restaurant decided to close 1 hour before the posted time. Doors were locked and we were not able to come in, although so customers were exiting. If you are not from this area be aware that most places close by 9 p.m.
It took twenty minutes from sitting down to receiving our drinks and another fourty minutes until we recieved our food. Our pizza was incorrect, we ordered stuffed crust and got bacon stuffed crust and ultimately paid $50 for horrible service and horrible food. The only thing I loved out of everything was the dr. pepper.

Thieves! Two of combos we ordered were not placed in the bags. When we drove back through to have the order corrected (either by refund or getting the food we paid for) they told us they were closed and then refused to answer the intercom or come to the window. This was 10 minutes before actual closing time. It should be noted that 20 minutes before closing, we were unable to order burgers or smoothies because the grill and smoothie machine were already shut down. Really? 20 minutes before closing and McDonalds can't make a burger. It was clearly a matter of employees trying to go home early. I'd like the $12 back that you stole from us last night.
This review is for the coffee alone. We looked for a cute little coffee shop to grab some joe on our way to Carlsbad Caverns. We were found wanting. Lo and behold, the golden arches called to us. Our light blue 2006 Kia Rio was drawn in as if by some extra-worldly force. We sipped the piping hot brown liquid, and it was the best piping hot brown liquid we had ever sipped. McDonald's coffee for the win.
Ordered over 30 dollars of food for 6 people and their grill was not working and their smoothies were down they charged me for 2 burgers anyway and did not switch them for nuggets as they said they would. I tried to get the order fixed in the drive through and they claim they were closed when it was still 10 minutes to closing time.
