Just happened upon this little gem on an OYSTER Thursday! They fly them in from Boston every Thrs/Fri, normally I'm against that type of thing, but they were delicious! I had the Moroccan sausage sandwich (super garlic!) & frites (not scratch made?), he had the croquet monsieur (sp) & salad - good, I will be back to try other items. We sat outside on the patio, they've really recreated the atmosphere of a café in France, but unfortunately the views are not a perfect compliment, however, there was a little shop across the way, Inspired Living, a little expensive, but a fun after-lunch stroll. Now if there could be more shops like it all along that street, and if one of the artists would set up sculpture along the walkways...we'd be getting somewhere! A lovely afternoon!

My husband and Went to P'tit Louis last night because we hadn't frequented it in a couple months and I was craving their delicious mussels. We were sadly disappointed. This has been one of our favorite places to eat for over two years. First, we placed our order and it took 30 minutes for us to get our beef tartar appetizer. Meanwhile, a couple who came in 15 minutes after us received and finished their appetizer before we received ours. Second, I ordered the moules piquantes, which is my favorite dish. When I received my mussels they were anything but piquante. I told the waitress and she said she told the chef who responded "I'm new to New Mexico and don't make dishes as spicy as New Mexicans like." Wow! Give me a break! If you mistakenly served me regular mussels in white wine sauce, which is what it tasted like, so be it. How do I know they weren't moules piquantes? Because I have been ordering them consistently for 2 years. Chef Emily makes the best...she obviously wasn't working last night. The mussels were tasty, don't get me wrong. But I wish the waitress and chef were honest and admitted they made a mistake. My husband ordered the steak which was very tender and flavorful. But it shouldn't have taken 1 hr to prepare it. Overall the food was great. But the service, excuses, and wait time were inexcusable. Would I dine again? Absolutely. But please admit when you are wrong and don't take so long to serve the food especially on a Wednesday night when you only have four tables with customers. Sadly the menu has changed and is ho hum and we may go back to La Provence Brasserie more often.

So it seems there is a trend with most of my reviews. I only like to review places I like. I am ok with that, so of course this review will not be any different. I really wish I could give P'tit Louis 10 stars, because this little place has stolen my heart and I always find myself longing to go back the moment I leave. We first discovered this place as a lunch spot in their downtown location, but then they opened the Nob Hill location with dinner hours and this little french bistro quickly became our favorite romantic date spot in ABQ. It is small and quaint and filled with ambiance. Now I have never been in France, but in my imagination this is as close as you can get here. The food never fails to impress. In the cooler months scallops broiled with cheese or coq au vin are rich and hearty and layered with all those amazing french flavors. Then as it heats up, the boy and I will eat endive or beet and goat cheese salad or share moules (mussels) with of course an order of pomme frites. Always followed by an espresso or cappuccino. Oh and it should not go unmentioned that the prices are beyond reasonable. As amazing as the food is, it is also the staff that makes this place the gem it is. Alex is our favorite waiter and if I could just have him at every restaurant I dine at, then I am pretty sure all my eating out would be perfection. Plus he makes an amazing espresso and is not shy about his barista skills. When we were there the other night there was a table with older diners next to us. The woman ordered escargot and was saddened to discovered they had just run out. She shared with her waiter John, how she had been looking forward all day to getting escargot. Without prompting, John sent someone from the kitchen to another local bistro to get some snails, so he could get her the escargot she desired. This is story perfectly represents the kind of place this is. Next time you find yourself in need of night of romance or an intimate dinner with your friends, spend an evening in France right here in Nob Hill.

I was very pleased to see this addition to our neighborhood. I have dined at both locations for lunch and have enjoyed it but I think dinner is a bit more charming. Dinner here, is only served Thursday-Saturday and Chris( the owner, chef) puts together a simple menu where the kitchen can focus on those special items and put out a good product at a very reasonable price for what one could consider bistro fare. If you like wine, while the selection is a bit small, their house offerings are served via carafe and a huge bargain. Seating is tight but intimate and its fun to people watch or listen to other diners conversations nearby. A note on the bread -servers here seem to be on a merry-go round pace by hitting your table and dispersing loaves every few minutes. Not necessarily a bad thing, just seems a bit weird. Overall, a great french bistro (anywhere) and great prices..

This is my favorite restaurant in Albuquerque. It is always the funnest experience no matter what day. I don't eat meat but I do eat seafood, and I still could eat here weekly! I dream of the scallops, the oysters are so fresh, the Mules come in different broths an I will try every kind with those amazing frites! I LOVE P'TIT LOUIS!!!

Fantastic. Love the staff, the food and the ambiance! Every time I've been to either P'tit Louis location, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself!

I may be biased as a francophile, but this place has everything I love. Cozy atmosphere (definitely make reservations), wine by the carafe that's actually drinkable, and greatest hits type of menu of french cuisine. You have moules marinieres that aren't over-cooked and served in a delicious broth, steak frites with a proper bavette cut and skinny, crispy, salty fries, and really good bread. You also have the rich, creamy foie appetizer and the garlicky, buttery, tender escargot. If you're looking for the classics, this is the best place in Albuquerque to find them. Service can be a bit slow if one waiter is on, but if you're there for a romantic dinner (highly recommended), who cares :) ?

The food must be great, otherwise they couldn't afford to treat us like merde. Reservation [rez-er-vey-shuh n] ... an arrangement to secure accommodations at a restaurant or hotel, on a boat or plane, etc. ...the record kept or assurance given of such an arrangement: We made a reservation 5 days in advance--was really looking forward to this special night with family. Got dressed up. Picked up our guest. Searched for parking and walked a block. Arrived on time. Told it would be a 20 minute wait. After 15 minutes we were told that we were waiting for one specific table because a party of 20 would be arriving who would be occupying all the other tables ! But the table we were waiting for had just gotten their entree so I knew that it would be another half hour before we were seated. Why take reservations if you cannot seat your guests for 45 minutes ? They could have offered us a free appetizer or dessert for our inconvenience, but no. Non, merci. Jamais ! We will not be giving our business to P'tit Louis--too many other good restaurants in Nob Hill to be treated like that.

I love the food and service at this quaint nob hill restaurant. The menu stays consistent with mostly French country cooking by Kristof, the owner. The cheese selection is lovely. The oysters are always delicious. I usually have the duck because no other restraint in Albuquerque can get it right. The personal service makes you feel important as a member of the community. It is not a fast paced service so don't go if you want a quick lunch or dinner. The music is always the perfect volume and you can speak intimately to your dinner companions- no raising your voice necessary.

Kristi recommended the Roquefort Mussels and frites. I probably would not have tried them without a push. The frites were great. Super hot and the right amount of salt. The mussels were sort of a strange flavor combination to begin with, but as I ate them the flavors worked some sort of mojo on me, and by the end I had decided that our first date had been nice. I don't think we were a love match, so I'll be going out with another mussel option when I return. That said, there are like 6 mussel choices. (Mussels mariners, mussels roquefort, mussels madras, mussels piquantes, mussels au saffran, and mussels provencale) Perfect for a fickle girl like me. When it comes to mussels I'm a bit of a flirt and I like to flirt with more than one type. I'm going out with the mussels madras next, watch out!

C'est magnifique! Staff were very attentive and friendly. The meal was well paced with time between courses. Boulliabase and Coq au vin were both excellent. Altogether a very enjoyable evening.

Christophe, Alex and his their team have created not only a great menu of great French fare but also keep it small enough to enjoy personal conversations with each guest all night. We love this place and make it a weekly date night and the first place we bring out of town guests to experience Nob Hill

I have been to Paris. I spent a total of perhaps three hours waiting in a train station to catch the express to London. I believe I purchased a German beer from a vending machine. While this was a long time back, I still recall the snooty attitude I received from one of the employees who worked at the station when I tried, in vain, to pronounce a few foreign sentences. I also remember the kind man who directed me to the correct train after I mistakenly attempted to board the train to Nice. This is all I know of Paris. And yet I feel as if I know the city intimately, in my fabled little world, due to my visit to P'Tit Louis Bistro. I'm tempted to give this place five stars simply because they nail the experience-real or imagined-of enjoying a bite in another country altogether. Without the snooty attitude. The wife and I got romantically involved, cuisine-wise, with the Salade oceane and the Croque Madame. Neither were amazing, but both were very good. The gruyere and bechamel cheese oozing out of the sandwich made me exceptionally randy, and once the yolk was popped on top the game was over, I was spent. It was 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and all I wanted to do was spend the day wandering the Louvre with my lover. The bread they serve while you wait for a plate is absolutely boring, plain french loaf. I've been to the downtown location and I can state, fairly confidently, that the moules are the very best option on the menu, in whatever broth you choose (I had the Roquefort). For the Bistro, the experience is what matters most. For the better part of an hour we were transported from Albuquerque to a fantasy of Paris, with solid entrees, good service, and the crackle of classic French music in the air. We were so transported, in fact, that we wanted to make the place our staple for romantic afternoon stops without the kids (which means we would probably visit, oh, four days a year). Take a friend or a lover to the Bistro and get to know them in another language.

I've stopped here a few times for lunch and dinner before, and each visit has been delightful. The tuna in the Salade Nippoise is high-quality, as are the oysters they have flown in fresh each Thursday. I'd say Small Louis (as I have Muricanized it) is a solid establishment which never leaves one disappointed and often dazzles.

I'm leaning toward 4.5 stars. I had dinner here last night--my second visit. I made a reservation earlier in the day for dinner at 6:30 that night. When my husband and I arrived, there were only two other tables with customers (we tried to stop in without a reservation about 6 months ago and it was packed with nothing available until after 8 pm). The restaurant was busy that evening, with tables coming and going, though I think a table for two could have been seated without much trouble, especially if willing to sit outside. The service was great, with two servers (one main server and an assistant). My husband and I shared a 1/2 liter carafe of (Chateau de) Pompe of rouge (I think we had the Bordeaux) which was really good and $12, giving my husband and I each 2 ~4 oz glasses of wine--just right. We were each immediately served a piece of crusty French bread/baguette which they were quick to replenish. If you want butter, ask for it. I started with the french onion soup (Soupe à l'oignon gratinée) which was very good. It's hard to get this wrong. A lovely crouton covered in melted cheese sank in the middle, on top of plentiful, translucent, soft onions. For our main dishes, I had the mussels in white wine and shallots (Moules Marinières). There was also a ton of minced garlic and parsley. I'm pretty sensitive to lots of onions and garlic and I likely ate the equivalent of a head of garlic last night. My stomach feels the ramifications today, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. For $12.50, the bowl of mussels I received was quite the bargain--there must have been 30 or so and they were delicious. I love seafood, but mussels really are at the bottom of my list of favorite shellfish. However, it's been several years since last eating at a Belgian restaurant in Maryland where I'd have mussels and it was time to go for it again. I was not disappointed. Oh, also, be prepared that if you have mussels, the flies will find you. The servers are swift to unnoticeably take away mussel shells, but until you finish your meal, expect a couple of flies to drive you nuts. I can only imagine how it must be in August. Also, the server recommended that you should not sit outside if you order mussels. My husband had the orange duck (Canard à l'orange) which was sliced duck with fresh green beans and potatoes au gratin. He ate it promptly, though I realize that I never asked how it was. A word of caution--the duck was served medium rare, though nicely seared. Mon dieu! I almost forgot that we shared an order of pommes frites. A heaping serving of french fries served in fake newspaper in the typical pommes frites stand. They were pretty good. I liked throwing a few in my broth and letting them soak up the flavors. For dessert we shared the tarte tatin, an apple tart cooked upside down. Unfortunately, I thought this was the one lacking dish we had. The apples were overcooked and lacked any spice such as cinnamon--they were simply sweet and mushy. The very thin pastry top (which was on the bottom since it was cooked upside down) was pasty on one side and then flamed on the other (perhaps they use the same torch on this as on the crème brûlée). It was served with a drizzle of caramel which really didn't add much to the flavors. Considering that I was so full and really didn't need dessert, this dessert was a bit of an insult to my senses. Oh well. Now I know. I've had delicious tarte tatin aux poire (pear tart that I made from a recipe given to me by a French friend) and was expecting this to be similar. So, I had a great meal in an uncomfortable wooden chair, with excellent company. I enjoyed almost everything and I am sure to be back. A 1/2 liter of wine, soup, mussels, an entree, an order of pommes frites, and dessert cost us $70 without tip.

Visiting Albuquerque and made reservations here for dinner. Service was excellent and very fancy. The escargot was fair, but I have had much better. They seemed to be gritty and the flavor was not quite on par with what I expect. Ordered a 3 cheese plate, which was decent. The duck was very tasty, and I would return just for that. What won me over was that they did not have the less expensive bottle of bordeaux available, and so they substituted the more expensive bottle at the same price.

Had a fabulous French dinner here. Food was authentic & superb, we shared a few starters: Escargot was excellent as well as the Beet & Endive salades . Mussels au saffran as well as Mussels mariners. Very good. Wait staff was on point & awesome, small bistro setting. Chairs uncomfortable though. Very similar to bistros in France.

I think this might be my first 5 star Yelp review. I only reserve this restaurant for those days when I really need a break. It's the perfect mid-day getaway for wine, cheese, fresh French bread and much more. In the warm months the place is all open with seating also on a tiny patio. Just today I dined there on the patio under huge sunflowers. The wait staff and owner are very attentive and able to give you much attention because of the small setting. A water fountain in the background lends to the overall ambiance of a relaxing French bistro. The menu has never let me down. Their oysters, escargot, muscles, sandwiches and everything else are amazing, fresh and very reasonably priced. You can also order great wine at a nice price point. Don't miss this hidden gem in Nob Hill. It's great for a quiet get-away or date night.

TL;DR - good food, chairs and booths horribly uncomfortable! We went for valentine's day, so it was a fixed menu likely different from their regular offerings, but everything was really good. We particularly liked the baked oyster - it was so fresh and tender and the flavors were perfect. My boyfriend's filet mignon was excellent, but my steamed sole was a tad bland, but cooked well. The molten chocolate cake was very well done, and the americano was excellent. Service was fast and courteous, and the atmosphere was nice. HOWEVER - I have one huge complaint. We had a table where one of us was sitting on the booth and one in a chair. They were both so incredibly uncomfortable that we had sore backs by the end and actually rushed to get the check because we were so uncomfortable. We even switched seats partway through to see if it would help. The booth was caving in or something to where I either had to slouch or sit very awkwardly on the edge of it. The chair was not much better. I mean c'mon, I am a twenty something in-shape woman with no major health issues, but I was in pain! They should seriously get some better seating. We actually joked that maybe they did it on purpose to make sure nobody lingered too long.

Love it - From the mellow yellow walls, to the well placed settings at each table, to the vested waitstaff in long black apron, to the French doors opened to a narrow patio with metal chairs and tables. This restaurant is a divine re-creation of a Parisian bistro experience. I even like the Parisian flippancy of the "P'tit" part of the restaurant name. I had moules with garlic toast and a crisp French white wine. I wish lunch time could linger all day.

I chose to celebrate my birthday with a lunch yesterday at P'Tit Louis. It failed on so many levels. For some reason they only had one man doing everything. We did not see another employee during our entire 2 hour lunch. The man was nice enough but there was a language barrier (he spoke Spanish I think) which was difficult when asking questions about classic french dishes. Every dish that I ate off of was majorly cracked or had big chunks missing - from my bread dish to my dessert plate. Seriously? We each ordered a glass of wine but were never offered another. The salad Nicoise was so blah - just lettus, green beans, potatoes and a small piece of tuna. My friend got the salad of the sea and I felt so bad for her! It was so basic and so blah! We ordered coffee and a chocolate molten cake which tasted like it had gone bad - ugh it was gross. And a creme brulee that was fine. We were never offered a re-fill on coffee either. It was so weird. Such bad service and such mediocre food. The star is for the mussels that were very good (thank goodness!) and the nice dining room. I will never go back and wish that Farm & Table, Indigo Crow or Blade's Bistro were open on Monday's so I could have gone there instead. I would be so embarrassed if I were the owner. Maybe he doesn't care about the lunch crowd. Ekkk.

The only difficulty in writing this review is that it is limited to five stars. I'd give it more if I could. The food is as good as I've had anywhere in Paris, Chantilly, Lyon... if not better. The filet mignon - can't even think of a comparable... superb is inadequate...the cheese selection is outstanding. Can't go to France this week? Save the plane fare and visit France for an hour or two here.

My husband and I discovered this little gem on our anniversary this year. We were searching for a great French restaurant to enjoy a nice lunch and came across this place. We happened to go on a Thursday, when they offer fresh oysters (flown in that morning from Boston). The staff was extremely friendly, very attentive to our needs, and the food was perfect. We ordered the house special (a chicken and green salad plate) which was very well presented. After the meal we decided to have dessert (something we rarely do) and I ordered the creme brulee while my husband ordered the creme caramel. Both were to die for. We can't wait to come back.

My husband and I moved to the neighborhood a week ago and have eaten here twice. Keep in mind there are a lot of good restaurants in the area. The food was wonderful, the ambiance lovely, and the staff extremely attentive and happy to please. Their menu is extremely (and happily) French and their specials keep it all fresh. I look forward to taking our out-of-town guests here! A neighborhood gem. Bon appetit!

Who would of guess that to very first French food I would try would be in Albuquerque. It's true though. I first had lunch in December, for my birthday. What a lovely treat. We had two glasses of champagne. Escargot. A panini and mussels. Today I returned with my same friend for my going away lunch. :( I am sad to leave ABQ and this little treasure of a restaurant. I had the quiche and salad. Only one glass of champagne. The ambience of the bistro is classy and cozy. It's a refreshing break from the rest of the world. I can only hope there will be a delightful little French bistro where I am headed.

This was amazing surprise, recommended by guys at "Hey Johnny" on Central Ave. A very small restaurant, with the owner, Christophe, serving all tables, the atmosphere is a true, charming, French bistro. We had traveled down from Santa Fe to drop off/pick up friends in Albuquerque, and had some time for dinner. A truly fabulous meal...better than any we have had in Santa Fe,(and we have eaten at all the favorite places, i.e. Geronimo, the Compound, L'Olivier, etc.). We started with the house pate with cornichons and the Moules Mariniere. The pate was wonderfully seasoned and flavorful, the texture smooth and silky. The mussels were HUGE, flown in from Prince Edward Island, and were some of the best we have ever eaten (and we are true mussel connoisseurs!) For the main courses we chose the night special of oven roasted pork tenderloin with truffle whiped potatoes, and the braised lamb shank. Both were rich, tender, moist, and complex, with large portions. The lamb was easily eaten with a fork, cooked low and slow, and so moist and tender as all properly braised meats should be. Both were equally delicious. Christophe kept bringing delicious bread to the table throughout the meal. We finished the meal with a very rich, flavorful creme caramel. The ambiance was intimate and appreciative, a mixed crowd obviously enjoying their fine meals. We would go back in a second, and highly recommend this wonderful place. Thank you, Christophe, for such a lovely meal!

I felt the need to provide feedback directly to the business with hopes they would acknowledge the feedback but they didn't. After giving them two weeks to respond I decided that would share my experience with you. Copy and paste of my feedback below, should adequately describe my experience. Greetings, I want to share some feedback based on a recent visit to the Nob Hill Location. I have eaten at the location on Silver several times and really enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. As a result, I decided to take my wife to dinner for her birthday. We arrived and were promptly seated. We were having an early dinner so there was only one other table being used. We were seated next to the other guests who happened to have a child (2-3 years old) with them. The child was somewhat taking away from our experience so we asked to be seated inside. We were quickly moved inside with no hesitation. Unfortunately the parents of the child did not care that their child decided to follow us and attempt to gain our attention for pretty much the whole dinner. We have 3 young children of our own so although we love kids it is not often that we get to enjoy a dinner without kids. Unfortunately the staff chose to allow the child to run about which resulted in a unpleasant evening. In addition, our food was not up to par either. My wife had the SALADE D'AVOCAT ET CREVETTES and BOEUF BOURGUIGNON. The salad was OK but not impressive and the beef was surprisingly tough. My meal was very good. I had the SALADE DE BETTERAVES ET CHÈVRE and MOULES ROQUEFORT. Maybe it was our fault eating an early dinner. Maybe we should have asked the server to speak to the parents. Maybe we should have gone to the location on Silver. Whatever it may be I was disappointed that my wife's 40th birthday dinner did not live up to my expectations or, more importantly, hers. Thank you for the consideration.

A little bit of French paradise I've eaten here a couple times now and have just loved it each time. The decor, inside and out is excellent, like eating at a tiny village bistro in France. The food has was excellent both times I went, with special high marks going to the charcuterie, especially the paté maison, the escargot (I asked for extra garlic the second time and oh boy was I happy!) the moules frite (piquant - awesome) and the filet mignon was perfect as well. I tried a couple different French reds that they stock and they went from good to an absolutely fantastic Corbieres we drank till they had none left. The waitress was as good as it gets, sweet yet professional, and the owner, who was there both nights, treats his guests as if they were his personal friends - he is everything you could want from the owner of a tiny French bistro. Yes, the place is small, but I would not have it any other way. Strongly recommend you make reservations as they had to turn away people both nights I was there. Oui, I Iove this place. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely fantastic in every way. My husband and I went there on Friday night to celebrate our anniversary and the whole experience from beginning to end is what dining should be. There is an extensive cheese selection and the three we enjoyed were superb. We had the blue point Oysters which were fresh and delicious. I believe there are fresh oysters available on Wednesday and Friday and if you go on one of those nights they are a must. And completely reasonable at $15 for a half dozen. The French onion soup was also very, very good, the best cheese I've ever had on that soup. Steak frites was excellent, frites are perfect! Salty, crunchy, excellent! My husband had the special which was rack of lamb which was also very good. Nice wine selection. Christophe was welcoming and efficient and attentive all evening. It's a very nice touch to see the owner interacting with the guests, greeting every table, etc. everything we tried was excellent. The prices are totally reasonable and the ambience is some of the best I've experienced in Albuquerque . I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, looking forward to going back! And I must have really enjoyed my experience because I'm pretty sure I have only written one maybeeee two other review on yelp! That good!

Went there last night w friends K&K being that all the other Nob Hill eateries were shut for 4th of July. All of us cleaned our plates. I had house Chardonnay (passable) with an endive-Roquefort salad followed by filet mignonette in truffle sauce. The salad, our servers favorite (but don't they always say that?) was very, good. Cooling too as it was a hot day. The steak was cooked perfectly, very tender. The truffle sauce called for me to break my no carb diet in order to sop it up w crusty French bread. My dessert was a 3 cheese cheese plate. I had a choice of 12-15 cheeses. Really delish! My friends ate and enjoyed: steak frites, French onion soup, and a chocolate dessert. Atmosphere was loud last night due to a large party adjacent to us. There are only about 6-7 tables in the place.... Very quaint. Go. Enjoy.

Wish I tried this place sooner! Best French food I've had in my whole life! The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and chic, with French music playing inthe background. We ordered: escargot, mussels, oysters (flown in on Thursdays only, sometimes they run out before Friday comes), and the special of the day, blood sausage on mashed potatoes and apples. Everything was superb, equally. Can't beat the quality of the food! Service was also wonderful- bread and water was refilled as soon as it was finished; didn't even have to ask. The owner (a funny guy) and waiter are awesome! The food came out quickly, too. By far surpasses every other French restaurant I've been to. Worth every penny! So glad I tried this place before leaving Albuquerque.

Transport yourself to Paris with this neighborhood gem. P'tit Louis Nob HIll has been faithfully constructed to resemble it's counterpart downtown, which is a dead ringer for places I've been in The City of Lights. My wife and I had been meaning to make it to the Nob Hill location since it opened but had not made it before last Friday. We knew we'd be in for a "French Lunch", so I let work know I was taking a long one. The experience here is not quick, and that's the point. We grabbed a seat on the small patio (instead of the small dining space) and decided to forego the wine this time. Instead we got an Americano and a Latte. These were drinkable but not great. Both tasted a bit weak, though we're both strong coffee drinkers. I got the crepe du jour which was smoked salmon with gruyere. It was amazing enough that when I heard the table next to us discuss getting it I had to lean over and make my strong recommendation. My wife's Salade Nicoise was a well-done rendition of this French classic. If you're looking for a romantic get-away, even for lunch, P'tit Louis should be at the top of your list!

Had a fantastic first time experience @ P'Tit; showed up at 6:00pm on a friday without a reservation and was immediately seated. Although they do not have a children's menu, Christophe and his staff were more than accommodating offering to prepare whatever our 8 yr old daughter would like. Our meals were superb accompanied with the perfect amount of attention. We will definitely be back!!

The new location doesn't disappoint, the Quiche was delightful, the wine crisp, and the salad fresh. Fresh seafood on Thursdays, flown in that day. I'm not certain how large the old place was, but this place is TINY, it can probably fit twenty people inside, and another six outside. But the food totally makes up for the cozy interior. The place really feels like what I imagine a French bistro feels like, from the black moulding, small round tables, and two people running the whole house.

OK, the crying infant was nott heir fault. But allowing parents with small children on a Friday evening when most are looking for a night out is just bad business. The beet and goat cheese appetizer was very good, then came the entrees. The Pork au Poivre and the accompanied side dish were so over-peppered that you couldn't distinguish any taste but the pepper. Au Poivre is meant to be a sharp juxtaposition, not take over you mouth. However, you could eat that . The Trout Almondine - for starters - had no almonds. It was a piece of trout that encased overwhipped, bland mashed potatoes and very overcooked green beans, and at least a tablespoon of garlic butter. There was a taste of white wine in the light sauce, but the over all experience was inedible, and also the entire dish was miseading. I never would or order "steamed trout wrapped aroung mashed potatoes and green beans seasoned with white wine and garlic." We cut our losses and went elsewhere for dessert..

We made reservations for 2 people for dinner this evening. A few hours later we received a phone call from P'tit Louis Nob Hill saying our reservation could not be honored because they had a party of 7 coming in at the time of our reservation and in order to accomodate the larger party (we were told the party of 7 had not been entered on their books) they would have to cancel our reservations. They need to get their act together.

My best friend and I spent a couple of nights having fun in Albuquerque last week. He's a huge Francophile and so we ended up popping in here on a Tuesday evening for a late dinner. When we popped by around 7:30 it was quite busy (not a huge space, but so perfect), so the owner offered to give us a phone call when he had a table available. After talking with another waiting patron (who quickly became our new Albuquerque best friend), we wondered off for a bourbon elsewhere in Nob Hill. We quickly got a call and returned to enjoy one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Our new friend, Evie, was seated near us and we conversed almost the whole meal. She is a good friend of the owner, Christophe, and between the two of them, the food, and the wine, we could not have had a better time. The wine hit me pretty quickly and I don't speak French, lamentably, I can't do justice to the names of the dishes, but they were exceptionally prepared, and the service was IMPECCABLE. I wish I lived in Albuquerque. This bistro would be one of my favorites and I have a feeling it would become a quite lovely bi-weekly habit...

We ate here last year (fall 2014) and had an amazing experience!!! So we made sure this restaurant was on our list for this visit. I have to say that the food was good and the wait staff was polite and attentive but it is now under new management (he is not French) and that is disappointing. The previous owner was a large part of the enjoyable experience. This was their first week with new management. Imagine our surprise to find out that they could not serve us wine because the liquor license transfer was not complete! What is French food without wine?! We had ordered the cheese plate before we were told that there was no wine. That's just not right. We watched at least 3 tables leave because of the lack of wine. I am concerned that the new owner will not be able to provide the warm atmosphere we had last time we dined here.

The host when we walked immediately gave us attitude about not having a reservation and told us there is nothing he can do. Handed us a card to make a reservation and escorted us out. Lucky enough for us Ajaico nearby treated us like human beings. Would not recommend this place if you plan on being treated nicely.

Wonderful oysters on Thursday and Friday. The best I've had in Abq. Also the mussels are on point. This French bistro brings a touch of class and yet celebrates a good meal, the way only the French can...well into the evening. Affordable wine options and a table on the patio, makes for the a almost Parisian feel.

My husband, another couple and I had dinner at P'tit Louis Bistro on a Saturday night at 5:30 pm. Our server was terrible and had a real attitude. He came over to tell us the specials of the night and didn't bother to ask for our drink orders. A while later, he returned and just stood there. My dining companions and I were so confused as to why a server would stand there and not acknowledge anyone at the table that we just sat there. The server then proceeded to ask, "Are you ready to order or are you just going to stare at each other?" Wow. I proceeded to order the mussels. He abruptly cut me off to say they were out of mussels! Out of mussels? You're a French bistro, and, did I mention, it was a SATURDAY night at 5:30 pm! What a joke. Since two of us were planning to order mussels, we needed a few minutes to choose something else. Still did not ask for our drink orders. Only after we placed our food orders did he finally ask for our drinks. I eventually settled on the french onion soup and the beet and goat cheese salad. Both were good, but nothing spectacular. I also shared an order of the escargots with my husband. Again, I've had better. My husband ordered the filet and said it was very good. At the end of the meal, we asked for the check to be split because we were running late for the theatre. The server returned and made a big fuss about having to split the bill. Overall, our service was slow and rude, but the food was good. I maybe willing to give P'tit Louis another shot.

My husband and I went here with some friends last week. The menu is pretty limited, so I ended up with the spicy mussels and fries. The mussels were good. They also brought around some good bread which was great for dipping in the sauce. The fries were not good, though. They tasted like they might have been undercooked a little and were in desperate need of some salt or some flavor. My husband ordered the bouillabaisse which he said was decent. The shellfish in it was good, but the fish was overcooked. The service was friendly and a bit sassy. It did end up being a rather long meal because it wasn't particularly quick service. In the end, it was pretty expensive for a meal that we weren't too impressed with. I won't be rushing back, but I would give them another chance. The desserts looked pretty good and our friends did seem to enjoy their meals more than either my husband or I did.

We weren't too sure about P'tit Louis since reviews seemed erratic and we didn't have a reservation. But after a week of BBQ and Tex-Mex we were jonesin' for French food. So we tried it and we got right in (dumb luck beats careful planning?). Most of the Yelp reviews are spot on - tight quarters, mixed service, good food. Yes it's small, but in a nice intimate/charming way. As for service - "ah, the French..." Our server (from Bordeaux) started out arrogant/verging on rude, but was grudgingly charming after a bit. (As a Parisian once told me "Why should we like you? We do not even like each other..."). The food met our (high) expectations for french food without exceeding them. We shared a starter of endive in a roquefort/cream cheese paste, unusual and almost too rich, but good. My companion had their marquee (five different styles) mussels, a generous portion, unextraordinary but "correct". Ditto with duck leg confit - moist and tender (both good things) but otherwise unremarkable. The Bordeaux superieur we got was not the year listed, but surprised us with its quality for the price. So: a nice meal, reasonably affordable, and nary a taco in sight.

Can't wait to be back in ABQ just to visit here again. Ambience: Very cosy inside and small patio outside. Tables closely packed but I had nice pleasant neighbors so it wasn't too bad. I imagine you'd want to book as I hear it gets pretty full with so few seats. Service: Two waiters (well, one of them was the chef/owner) for so few tables meant we got great service. Good recommendations on food and wine and constant replenishing of fresh bread. Food: Fresh oyster flown in that morning were the best I've had from a non-coastal location. This was followed by a special which was a crispy chicken dish with truffle sauce. Very nice. Finally a creme caramel for desert which was an ideal finish. Price: Very decent for the quality. There's a bunch more items on the menu I'm looking forward to trying. I will also want to arrange a game of petanque with Christophe.
