I've never been booted so I don't have an problem with all that. My wife and I will hit Perico's whenever we're in the area and split a 6 pack of tacos. The huge side of salsa alone is worth the price.

Sad. Sad. Sad. Nothing has changed here. Plenty of open parking due to lack of customers, but they still have hired thugs to boot anyone who takes one of the many empty spaces but doesn't know of their $60 parking scam. It's not students parking there and leaving for 4 hours to classes, it's working people trying to grab a lunch then getting extorted for cash to be allowed to leave. Never, never give these subhumans your business.

Their "customer parking" was completely empty during lunch. Thought the spots in the parking lot were for customers of all the businesses that the lot belonged to, up to and including Jimmy John's. No warning, no heads up, I show back up to my car and some dude is standing there saying its $60 to take the boot off my car. Anyone that has to gouge people for parking in "their" parking spots needs to find a new business model.

Okay food. Tacos are more homemade and slightly better than average. I often wondered how this little place made its money and learned it's not necessarily the food. they have a troll who boots cars with abandon. then soaks the owners to get the thing off. this isn't a.good neighbor. One person I saw stopped parked for three minutes to pick up an order from a.neighboring restaurant (with much better food) and had to go find an atm to ransom their car from the leech. And i was only there for.a.few.minutes. The people around me said this goes.on all day. Park far away and walk past this place to better food and nicer company. Walk past and don't stop in. there is better food close by.

This filthy restaurant has deplorable business practices. They illegally boot cars and then demand $60 (this hasn't happened to me). I wish that Yelp didn't filter out all the one star reviews and gave this place a correct and fair rating of two stars. I won't spend any money at an establishment that prides itself on ruining peoples days. I'm in the military and I have seen employees of this shady restaurant boot military personnel in uniform, who clearly didn't know about that the unmarked spot that they parked in was on this restaurants prized property. Blatant disrespect plus disregard plus greediness equals one star. SHAME ON YOU PERICOS!!!

I come here all the time. The six pack is great. Never had any issues with staff or parking. Perfect food to eat Togo with a modelo at home.

Got booted and charged $60 for stepping out if their parking lot less than 1 minute. Watch out for this racket, they have a dedicated person sit outside and boot unsuspecting cars. Very underhanded way of earning a buck. Tried to reason with the people in the restaurant but they were just being extremely rude. Don't even go near this place or you might regret it. Reporting to better business bureau.

Today I made the mistake of parking in the parking lot near this restaurant to grab a sandwich for my daughter before heading to UNM girls soccer camp. We had just driven 7 hours - my daughter is considering attending school. We crossed the street, walked the campus, stopped in the student union and the bookstore and were back in 45 minutes only to find my car booted by Viking Booting. I was forced to pay $60.00 cash (he only takes cash) to get the boot off. When I went back to complain the girl behind the counter informed me that they had nothing to do with this. I told her the guy came out of your restaurant. She said he just stores his stuff here, then refused to give me the owner's number. When I told her the information was all over the walls of the building she said the owner of Perico's and Viking Boot have a deal. It's a BIG RIPOFF deal!! If this is the type of community Albuquerque represents we need to find a better University to send our daughter. I can't think of a worse way to represent the University of New Mexico

This is the go to chicken taco spot when i was going to unm. If you get a meal they give you a small salad with ranch. Their biscocuttos are delicious!

Their fish burrito is nasty. The aluminum foil was wrapped inside the burrito, and there was some fish bones inside. The kitchen looks dirty and the workers are unprofessional. Plus if you park near their restaurant during the day be prepared to get your car booted! Must pay $60 to get it removed or they tow it. Horrible service!

I would say I'm a regular at this place. Their tacos are some of the best in town. The papas con carne tacos are what I get, and they are crispy fried with lettuce, tomato, and cheese, add their salsa...and they are a hit. I also like the chicharron burrito with green. It's not the biggest in town, but they are made just right.

Most of the time the food is pretty good. Their carne adovada is good, as are any breakfast burritos. The service is some of the worst I've ever experienced. On numerous occasions I've called in orders and was told over the phone it'll be ready in 15-20 mins. only to find out upon arrival that they've yet to start making my order. The staff is generally short and discourteous with customers. In spite of all this I continued to go back because I really like their breakfast burritos and the food is pretty cheap. I stopped completely when I observed how they extort customers. They have a person camped inside the building with a boot that just watched people park. When he sees someone park and not go into perico's he boots them and charges them $60 to take the thing off. I've seen him do this to people going next door to get a drink when there aren't any free spaces. I cannot and will not give my money to a business that treats people this way and I encourage anyone who reads this to do the same.

Terrible Service, Very unfriendly, very short with me. The Food wasn't good and when I picked up the food they tried to boot my car and charge me $60.00. By the time I got them to take off my boot - My food was cold. This business has a very terrible business practice. They are not a friendly business, and they nickel and dime anyone that tries to park there

Nasty. Having trouble believing it's still open as it looks to be in serious violation of several health codes. Stay away if you know what's good for you.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
