I have been to the restaurant with my girlfriends 3 times now and it just keeps getting better. Most recently we had our christmas party in the restaurants lounge area (they have a beautiful fireplace). The banquet coordinator was very helpful and everything was exactly as we wanted! Great menu- I eat here twice a month-I usually take business client and they always walk away enjoying their meal- The bread they give you to start out is hard to beat- If it's your first time you must try the tilipia, parmesan encrusted sole, or the green chile lasagna- The desert menu is not to be missed- the key lime pie may be the best in Albuquerque- The service has always been good and you will always find one of the owner's hanging out to make sure you get the best experience possible-

We went here for Mother's Day lunch, thinking it would be a bit more special then other places in town. What a disappointment. My pork loin dinner was overpriced and very dry, had to ask for more liquid to pour over the meat.

Nick & Jimmy's opened only a few weeks ago, but here is the impression made by my inaugural visit. I started with an IPA from the Marble Brewery. The fact that they have a Marble beer is awesome! The fact that there was no beer list and I only learned about this after asking my waiter was less awesome. Next, was a crab cake appetizer. Actually it was more like a crab baseball with some capers, lemon wedge, and small shrimp decorating the plate. I rarely have a crab cake where I don't think they could've used more crab, but the crab that was there was in large lumps. It was good, but not particularly exciting. The appetizer was followed by a small house salad. I ordered mine with blue cheese dressing and blue cheese crumbles. It was good, but I will pick on the fact that the tomato was under ripe and the salad greens were not tossed with the dressing. It was just poured (albeit artfully) over the salad. Still, enjoyable. One of the chef's "recommended" dishes is the meatloaf. I'm not sure why. It was pretty ordinary. Not bad (but the meatloaf I make at home is better 8*). Just nothing remarkable. It came with choice of potatoes and I opted for au gratin. My first bite was undercooked. The rest was actually rather good. There was also a helping of mixed vegetables (broccoli, zucchini, carrot, red pepper). Slightly over cooked, but good. Lastly, I had the chocolate mousse cake. It was fine. Speaking of the waitstaff, they are all very young. Not the kind of people who will be there in years to come. They were well trained, but definitely "Albuquerque casual". Not the kind of place where I'd trust the waiter to help me make a wine selection. The main dining area is one large room. It did get a little noisy even though I was there late and there were not a lot of people there. So, my impression is that the place is just good. Not a place I'll be rushing back to quickly, but not a place where I felt I got ripped off. Dinner came to $42. They had a pretty good looking steak menu. I'll probably try that next time. For out-of-town people staying at the nearby hotels, this really isn't a bad "within walking distance" option. On the other hand, if you really want your socks blown off, walk a few steps further to Cafe Jean Pierre. Not much more expensive, but much better food and service.

To our surprise, the restaurant was much nicer than I would have guessed given that it's a Bar and Grill. The hostess seated us at a table and the server came and offered us water and hot bread right away as we looked at the menu. We were a little concerned that the menu offered Greek dishes, New Mexican fare, along with Steaks and other entrees for dinner. The waiter, Tony, told us that they were best known for their steaks as well as the lamb. There was a pork chop special that evening that he recommended as the best in New Mexico. My husband ordered the Lamb Shank with a greek dinner salad and I got the Pork Chop special with the Beef and Barley soup. The hot bread and flatbread were fresh and the oil with spices was great to dip them in. Since it was our first visit, Tony brought us a spanikopita to try, courtesy of the chef. It was the best spanikopita that we've had...fresh, tasty, and just savory. The soup was obviously homemade and not from a can with fresh cuts of beef and the salad was fresh. We were really looking forward to our entrees and weren't disappointed by the lamb shank that was a healthy portion for the price, not to mention tasty and not at all gamey. The pork chop was 14 oz of moist and flavorful meat accompanied by mushrooms and wine sauce. Of course, we had to get dessert after such a wonderful meal...though the coconut cream, chocolate cream, and key lime pies were fresh at the time we ordered, we opted for the brownie sundae and the pineapple upside down cake for 2 that was the night's featured dessert. I've never had such moist cake and certainly didn't expect it in the pineapple upside down cake. Given the great service we received, it was just an overall spectacular dining experience. We're definitely fans and plan to return again soon!

Whenever I walk into a restaurant and see five different styles of cooking on a single menu, warning bells start going off in my head. If there's a restaurant that has mastered both Italian and Mexican or German and Indian in the same establishment it's not one that I've had the pleasure of visiting. We've dined here several times in the past and were always happy with the food. Last night however, we tried a few different items that weren't so good. The humus appetizer was sparse. I mean, humus is relatively cheap so at least put enough on the plate to cover the pita wedges you put on the plate. Quesadilla appetizers were bland. But the big problem was with the server. At 7:15 I told her we were already late for an event we needed to get to. She didn't bring the check until 7:45. Then I had to give the payment to manager at 7:55 because she was off doing something else. Good place for lunch though!

If you want Greek/Mediterranean food, this is as good a place as any. It has the feel of an East Coast/Chicago restaurant. I can't quite put my finger on why that is, but you kind of forget that you're in Albuquerque when you're here. I had the lamb shank special, and it was really good. They also have fantastic bread and olive oil. Seriously, that olive oil must be laced with crack, it's super good. Good wine selection, which I think is essential to any serious Mediterranean cuisine based establishment. Service was good. There weren't a lot of people in the place at 12:30 on a Saturday, to be fair. They have a bar, and it looks like a nice place to get some drinks.

We had high hopes for Nick and Jimmy's, wish I had checked here first. Decided to try them for lunch today (Friday). Not very busy, should have been a clue. Service was prompt, the waiter was informative and pleasant. The bread was very good, then it went down hill from there. I had the Greek platter and my hubby had the New Mexican platter to sample a bit of everything. The Greek platter was good except for the tomato beef pasta which tasted like beef a roni. For $20 I expected better. Then there was the New Mexican platter. The enchiladas were so tough my husband could not cut them with the knife. When we told our waiter that he brought him a steak knife. No. Take it back and try again. So 8 minutes later a new plate was brought out it was fair. The manager was aware got the round of sorry about that but not even $5 knocked off or a free ice tea for their screw up. For Mexican we will go to Mary and Tito's, and for Greek we will go to Sahara's. Whole lot better and cheaper!

Mexican? Greek? American? What's the cuisine here? When I saw the menu I certainly knew that all of the food wouldn't taste great since it was a wide variety of cuisines. I was craving Greek so I went with the sampler, and my friend had a salmon. My assumption was right, neither mine or my friends plate was memorable. Drinks were strong, always a plus! But sadly, food needs some major improvement, or maybe just focus on one type of cuisine and master it?

I find the menu is a little bit large and pricey. All the food items I've tried are tasty but yet again a little bit pricey. Good for a large group and the servers are quick and knowledgable. But we love the Happy Hour specials both drinks and food so we tend to go for happy hour more. So try the happy hour after a long day at work. Yummy, wine, martini's and drinks.

The absolute BEST fried shrimp (and tarter sauce) I have ever had!!!! Really sweet bartender too. Oh....and the spanakopita is also top notch! Nick and Jimmy's has really won me over. My first visit wasn't that great but my girlfriend needed her spanakopita fix and my second experience was wonderful. I've already been twice this week and will definitely go back soon.

It was Thursday so it's"Girls' Night Out." The 10 of us met at Nick and Jimmy's and were seated in a very nice room. Several were having margaritas. I had received an e-mail offering a free margaritas if I voted for N&J on Albuquerque Magazine's web site, so I mentioned it to the waiter. He got the Manager, who was so sweet and friendly, that we loved her! And I got my free margarita! Sign up at N&J's folks! We ordered a variety of different entrees, all of which were great. I had the chile relleno plate which was excellent. Other entrees that stood out were the Parmesan crusted Sole, the Moussaka, the Jumbo Fried Shrimp, and the Chicken Fried Streak. We all agreed that this is one of our favorite restaurants, and we look forward to returning.

Maybe 2 stars is generous. This restaurant has a very large menu with Greek, Italian, and comfort food. I wrongly assumed it was because they could execute everything well. I went in for a business lunch and decided to order a Greek salad with gyro meat. The salad was thick cut romaine, two olives, two tomato slices, three small visible pieces of feta, and a bland Greek dressing. The gyro meat was premade slices not cut off the cone and was greasy and flavorless. It was tasteless and required I saw at everything to make it bite-sized. The service was pretty good although spotty on drink refills. I wouldn't go back.

Nope. We've tried Nick & Jimmy's three times for happy hour. I'm not sure about a fourth time. The good: - Grey Goose deals: $6 for a martini or other cocktail - HH until 8PM (!!!!) - Delicious food on the HH menu at a great price The bad: - Variety: they have it all. Far too much for them to be able to have everything mastered. They have Greek, New Mexican, Italian, American, etc. Menu items are fine, but not as good as they should be. The meatloaf was thumbs down! The ugly: - Service: they are going to ruin themselves if they can't offer quick, consistent service. There are staff members everywhere, but no one is there to help you. Today I called the restaurant (yes really) from our table to ask for help in finding our server. Horrible! Our service has sucked all three times. The verdict: - Cut the menu in half and fix the service, quickly.

Atmosphere: Nicely decorated, seems upscale. Service: Server was decent, but that fake nice not genuine nice service. Drinks were never refilled. Food: The table bread was good along with the spiced olive oil. Gyro was below average. It had the meat that you buy in the freezer section of the grocery store and not from a rotisserie so that was a big negative. Philly was okay nothing special about it. Cost: Way overpriced for the quality. Overall: Wouldn't recommend going, not worth your time and money.

I dined here with my manager for the area, Nick. So Nick & Jimmy were at Nick & Jimmy's for dinner. There were others with us as well. If you've been to Carrabbas this is basically the same thing but not quite as good. I had a spicy chicken wood fired pizza. It was pretty good, not great. I shared a couple desserts-coconut cream pie and chocolate cream pie. The desserts were very good. The decor here is unusually bland.

We tried this place on a whim, not really knowing much about it, just going off yelp reviews. We weren't really prepared for how nice it was, thinking it was more of a sports bar and grill. We were definitely underdressed. Nevertheless! The food was excellent, our server was very helpful and friendly, and our meals ended up being a great deal with the Sunday special. 5 stars because of the price--any other day would've gotten it a 4. Definitely worth a trip though!

Looking at the menu you could tell the food wasn't going to be very good. If you have at least 4 different cultures of food in you're menu you're doing it wrong. And hey, that's a Gordon Ramsey tidbit. So I tried the eggplant moussaka and it was really only "ok" it was bland and when I added salt it was 100x better. I did like the baklava but it was so huge that using a fork to cut it was a task in itself. Although compared to other reviewers our service wasn't too bad. Overall overpriced bland food.

Ate here last night, this place never disappoints me. I have been under the weather and the lemon chicken soup was perfect for my throat. So good! We had a wonderful cab to drink, and started with the Greek salad. My boyfriend had the ribeye, cooked med-rare. I am always pleased with their steaks, I prefer the filet, rare. That's my usual choice. We finished with the mousse cake, made in house. Always a good choice!

The only reason this place has one star is because it has pretty good service. But that aside, you go out to eat good food am theirs is anything but that. We got a crab dip app and yes there was lots of crab but it had no depth (we layer discovered that everything we ordered was one dimensional) my husband and I both had different lamb dishes and they were awful!!! 1/4/2010 As a longtime fan of Yanni's I was very anxious to try out their new endeavor. I went in for lunch with a friend on a sunday..... The hostess at the front was very friendly and quick to find us a table, the server did fine as well. The menu I felt was a random hodgepodge mix of greek, comfort and home-style foods with very little ingenuity. Nothing really jumped out for me and I was a little dissapointed to have a multi-page menu with little to offer. I opted for a glass of wine and the spare ribs, my friend ordered a sirloin i believe. Each dish was served with a starter...I took a greek salad, he, the red chile posole. Both had very nice flavor and for a house salad, I was quite happy. When the entrees arrived, both were plated in a manner reminiscent of a 500 seat hotel banquet. It was the usual triangle of starch, vegetable and protein placed down as though they were about to plate another 498 dishes and had little time to dress them up. The vegetables were underseasoned and the spare ribs were just okay. My friend's steak was a very thin cut, similar to those at applebees, and was overcooked.(ordered a medium rare and received a medium plus) I would have expected thicker cuts on the steaks coming from restauranteurs of their caliber. Overall the meal was unremarkable. I didn't care for the interior design of the restaurant either, although that should play little part in the success of the food and service. The rippled glass facades everywhere looked like they were inspired by an all you can eat buffet. All that said, I am still more than willing to try it out again, and maybe this time for dinner. It's still new and i'm sure they're still getting everything together!

I was craving Greek so I went with the sampler, and my friend had a salmon. My assumption was right, neither mine or my friends plate was memorable. Drinks were strong, always a plus! But sadly, food needs some major improvement, or maybe just focus on one type of cuisine and master it?

I find the menu is a little bit large and pricey. All the food items I've tried are tasty but yet again a little bit pricey. Good for a large group and the servers are quick and knowledgable. But we love the Happy Hour specials both drinks and food so we tend to go for happy hour more. So try the happy hour after a long day at work. Yummy, wine, martini's and drinks.

The absolute BEST fried shrimp (and tarter sauce) I have ever had!!!! Really sweet bartender too. Oh....and the spanakopita is also top notch! Nick and Jimmy's has really won me over. My first visit wasn't that great but my girlfriend needed her spanakopita fix and my second experience was wonderful. I've already been twice this week and will definitely go back soon.

It was Thursday so it's"Girls' Night Out." The 10 of us met at Nick and Jimmy's and were seated in a very nice room. Several were having margaritas. I had received an e-mail offering a free margaritas if I voted for N&J on Albuquerque Magazine's web site, so I mentioned it to the waiter. He got the Manager, who was so sweet and friendly, that we loved her! And I got my free margarita! Sign up at N&J's folks! We ordered a variety of different entrees, all of which were great. I had the chile relleno plate which was excellent. Other entrees that stood out were the Parmesan crusted Sole, the Moussaka, the Jumbo Fried Shrimp, and the Chicken Fried Streak. We all agreed that this is one of our favorite restaurants, and we look forward to returning.

My hubby and I had the specials, pork tenderloin and filet mignon. The pork was outstanding. So tender and juicy full of flavor. Loved it!!!

Maybe 2 stars is generous. This restaurant has a very large menu with Greek, Italian, and comfort food. I wrongly assumed it was because they could execute everything well. I went in for a business lunch and decided to order a Greek salad with gyro meat. The salad was thick cut romaine, two olives, two tomato slices, three small visible pieces of feta, and a bland Greek dressing. The gyro meat was premade slices not cut off the cone and was greasy and flavorless. It was tasteless and required I saw at everything to make it bite-sized. The service was pretty good although spotty on drink refills. I wouldn't go back.

Nope. We've tried Nick & Jimmy's three times for happy hour. I'm not sure about a fourth time. The good: - Grey Goose deals: $6 for a martini or other cocktail - HH until 8PM (!!!!) - Delicious food on the HH menu at a great price The bad: - Variety: they have it all. Far too much for them to be able to have everything mastered. They have Greek, New Mexican, Italian, American, etc. Menu items are fine, but not as good as they should be. The meatloaf was thumbs down! The ugly: - Service: they are going to ruin themselves if they can't offer quick, consistent service. There are staff members everywhere, but no one is there to help you. Today I called the restaurant (yes really) from our table to ask for help in finding our server. Horrible! Our service has sucked all three times. The verdict: - Cut the menu in half and fix the service, quickly.

I'm not going to ding them 2 stars only one for forgetting about my date an I's drinks. We got sat, order water and water, and took 10 minutes to get the water. Other than that the food was great had the Greek chicken and was very good !

Atmosphere: Nicely decorated, seems upscale. Service: Server was decent, but that fake nice not genuine nice service. Drinks were never refilled. Food: The table bread was good along with the spiced olive oil. Gyro was below average. It had the meat that you buy in the freezer section of the grocery store and not from a rotisserie so that was a big negative. Philly was okay nothing special about it. Cost: Way overpriced for the quality. Overall: Wouldn't recommend going, not worth your time and money.

I dined here with my manager for the area, Nick. So Nick & Jimmy were at Nick & Jimmy's for dinner. There were others with us as well. If you've been to Carrabbas this is basically the same thing but not quite as good. I had a spicy chicken wood fired pizza. It was pretty good, not great. I shared a couple desserts-coconut cream pie and chocolate cream pie. The desserts were very good. The decor here is unusually bland.

We tried this place on a whim, not really knowing much about it, just going off yelp reviews. We weren't really prepared for how nice it was, thinking it was more of a sports bar and grill. We were definitely underdressed. Nevertheless! The food was excellent, our server was very helpful and friendly, and our meals ended up being a great deal with the Sunday special. 5 stars because of the price--any other day would've gotten it a 4. Definitely worth a trip though!

Looking at the menu you could tell the food wasn't going to be very good. If you have at least 4 different cultures of food in you're menu you're doing it wrong. And hey, that's a Gordon Ramsey tidbit. So I tried the eggplant moussaka and it was really only "ok" it was bland and when I added salt it was 100x better. I did like the baklava but it was so huge that using a fork to cut it was a task in itself. Although compared to other reviewers our service wasn't too bad. Overall overpriced bland food.

Ate here last night, this place never disappoints me. I have been under the weather and the lemon chicken soup was perfect for my throat. So good! We had a wonderful cab to drink, and started with the Greek salad. My boyfriend had the ribeye, cooked med-rare. I am always pleased with their steaks, I prefer the filet, rare. That's my usual choice. We finished with the mousse cake, made in house. Always a good choice!

Took a friend for his birthday the other night it wasnt any thing special the food was ok and the service was the same i had the fried steak cause nothing else on the menu sounded any better when fried steak sounds the best you have to wounder, my friend had baked flounder we also had the clamari and house appetizer that was pretty good but i dont think i will not return any time soon if ever.

The only reason this place has one star is because it has pretty good service. But that aside, you go out to eat good food am theirs is anything but that. We got a crab dip app and yes there was lots of crab but it had no depth (we layer discovered that everything we ordered was one dimensional) my husband and I both had different lamb dishes and they were awful!!! Sooooooooo salty!!!!!! Bottom line, this place is terrible.

1/4/2010 As a longtime fan of Yanni's I was very anxious to try out their new endeavor. I went in for lunch with a friend on a sunday..... The hostess at the front was very friendly and quick to find us a table, the server did fine as well. The menu I felt was a random hodgepodge mix of greek, comfort and home-style foods with very little ingenuity. Nothing really jumped out for me and I was a little dissapointed to have a multi-page menu with little to offer. I opted for a glass of wine and the spare ribs, my friend ordered a sirloin i believe. Each dish was served with a starter...I took a greek salad, he, the red chile posole. Both had very nice flavor and for a house salad, I was quite happy. When the entrees arrived, both were plated in a manner reminiscent of a 500 seat hotel banquet. It was the usual triangle of starch, vegetable and protein placed down as though they were about to plate another 498 dishes and had little time to dress them up. The vegetables were underseasoned and the spare ribs were just okay. My friend's steak was a very thin cut, similar to those at applebees, and was overcooked.(ordered a medium rare and received a medium plus) I would have expected thicker cuts on the steaks coming from restauranteurs of their caliber. Overall the meal was unremarkable. I didn't care for the interior design of the restaurant either, although that should play little part in the success of the food and service. The rippled glass facades everywhere looked like they were inspired by an all you can eat buffet. All that said, I am still more than willing to try it out again, and maybe this time for dinner. It's still new and i'm sure they're still getting everything together!
